AVOID AT ALL COST!! Appalling service! Horrific experience. First, when rented the space and signed docs all was supposed to be ready for my move in day but when I arrived with a hired van and driver on the set date and time agreed with the store manager, my code wasn't set up and the store manager was not on duty, apparently due to being sick, but when I called the main number it was going to random other stores and no one was able to help out. Spent hour on the phone with random managers form other stores and no help. Asked to be put through to some area manager or any customer service but this apparently could not be done. Someone finally showed up after 2 hours and me paying extra to the man with van, still lucky that his next job was much later, otherwise I would end up with my house belongings on the street. Then used the storage for 6 weeks but was required to pay upfront for full second month even though I already gave nitce. Now after moving out over 3 weeks ago I have still no gotten my money refunded. I queried 3 times already, all was supposed to be refunded within 10-14 working days. Then it turned out some "button" wasn't activated and now need to wait another 10-14 working days. This is in breach of our contract and their own T&Cs. I emailed many times to make complaint and to speak to Customer Service or account but the staff (his name is Benil) simply ignores my requests and replies I will get money in another 10-14 days and stated no need for me to speak to Account. I WANT MY MONEY BACK!!! I made also complaint over their website but no reply. AVOID THIS COMPANY. There is no customer service and no one to talk to if something goes wrong, apart from the guy at the store who simply ignores your complaint. IN REPLY TO YOU REQUESTING MY DETAILS - THIS IS MY CUST NO WITH YOU 8334004 - hoping no one else will use it claiming to be me now that it is in public domain. I find it strange that Benil at Shurgard City Airport was not able to provide you with my details as my case is pretty specific... UPDATE: finally received the refund on 25th Feb, and a call today (28th Feb) from some area manager (so they actually have those) but he essentially reiterated what Benil said, and explanation was the bank transfer comes from Belgium so takes 10-14 working days, well it took some 20 working days for me. On my experience in December when moving in, he said I should have raised this with them at the time .... well, I did while speaking on the phone to 3 different people back on the day ... he also said that they are not responsible for the storage facility and it is in the contract (really?! so they conveniently enter a clause that covers them from any responsibility if anything goes wrong. this does not sound to me like a fair business practice). the final conclusion was that he cannot do anything about it now and I have now received my refund but he called because I asked for a call ... - my conclusion: AVOID SHURGARD as they have no effective processes in place, no customer service and no idea how to deal with customers when something goes wrong

Rubbish company, they run a 1£ offer for the first month as soon as they realise you just need them for 1 week, they try to rob you with silly things. Before i become a customer they called me everyday 5-10 times they send me at least 4-6 emails a day. Soon as i checked out, i left my car in the car park overnight. Nobody call me nobody send me email. After the 4th day i returned they create me a bill £100/ day. Im asking if I'm your customer and i need to pay for anything why you don't call me 10 times a day like before??? Why you don't send email 4-6 times??? They just care about the money there is no customer service at all, its all fake..... If i really care about my customer trust me i call them and i try to do anything to don't cause any extra fees....but you guys just care about the money..... They bagging for the 5 stars review before you join, you gave them and now this is the thanks... very disappointed....

Putting stuff into storage and getting a good deal Is very daunting. I have two units at shurgard and have been recommended and have recommended people to store their stuff here. Shurgard at city airport in particular the staff have always been very welcoming and positive. One person who stands out in particular is Elton. When I first took out storage based on my surname he was able to ask if I was related to or knew or a customer with a similar name. He said the name was unusual so was easy to remember. Every time I walk into the office and he is there he welcomes me with my name before I can even explain who I am or what the problem could be. This puts my mind at ease and a personal connection of trust and respect is built up and cemented. I definitely feel that this store and Elton in particular deserves a 5 star rating.

Despite giving a month's notice to vacate my space, I moved out twenty fours hours late due to the tier four restrictions being put in place and some personal issues it caused. I informed a lady on site on the day I moved out but I have still been charged for an additional fifteen days. Chad advised me to email the area team, who in turn have not responded to my three emails sent over ten days. Chad informed me that they are not prepared to remove the charges or take into account any personal circumstances. Quite disgusted that the company act in this way and show no flexibility in times such as these. Beware of lots of smiles when you arrive and pay but no help, flexibility or understanding at all in reverse.

I would never recommend leaving anything of value in this storage unit, due to personal experiences of having my own unit pick locked and my items inside stolen. I complained to the manager of this warehouse in excel and was advised that there is nothing that they can do, further more the CCTV footage only shows people that are using the lift. I believe the colleagues there are untrustworthy as only they would have complete access to all the facilities and how to avoid being seen on camera. Please if you are considering using this service do not and find somewhere safer to leave your belongings as it was made out as if nothing had happened and you are left helpless.

I’ve taken out storage for a couple of months now and agree with other reviews that it’s clean, knowledgeable staff and well situated. I’m no longer sure about safety as I experienced a break in today!!! I’m still very much shocked and anxious. Never ever have I thought this could happen - I absolutely believed it to be secure storage. Thieves broke into several units which was known but what I can’t understand is that there was no communications at all to at least ask for clients to come and check their units. How could this even happen, really? This is supposed to be secure? Why aren’t there cameras in the hallways? I’m speechless ….

We hired a storage unit from the City Airport branch of Shurgard in May for six months while installing a new kitchen and getting other building work done, and needing somewhere to store furniture, units, appliances and materials. Everything was smooth and efficient - we dealt with James, who was v friendly and helpful - right from the start. The unit was clean and roomy, access was clearly v secure, we could nip back and forward to collect or leave things whenever we wanted, and when we were ready to leave, the process was extremely quick and efficient. Highly recommended!!!

Fairly new,everything is fully functional,decent size lifts,trolleys available and rolling,clean restrooms,friendly staff,locks provided.Expect to pay around £50 a month for an average compartment but remember that insurance is compulsory (at £12 a month in my case) and covering £2000 worth of goods at the best,also no access to the facility between 23h00 and 06h00 and some issues regarding the security lately...

There is only one thing - they give you a very nice price but they can change it at any time. It is not very nice. I didn't like it but the price was so good and I hope it won't happen to me. Very easy to find as it's in a good and clear location. If you have any trouble you could usually call them and they'll help you with directions. They usually have good deals which is a plus. I've purchased a few things from here before during sale time and found its good value for money. The staff are very pleasant and happy to help. Great products, great customer service!

Been with Shurgard since February 2020, I initially needed six months whilst I was waiting for a new build house to complete. Due to the ongoing pandemic my house was delayed and Shurgard were very easy to deal with in extending my storage as it just rolls over. A year later I'm leaving and they kept good customer service throughout even at the end. Thumbs up to James too

James has been super helpful at helping me set up my account and arrange all the details for the storage unit I was looking to rent. He gave me detailed information about the contract and the insurance, showed me the unit itself and booked my appointment to pick up the lock. All these within less than half am hour. Great experience over all.

I just rented a storage space for a whole year at city airport site. There was a little mixup as I booked it through the phone and it was’t recorded quite right. Luckily, it didn’t cost me any stress at all as lovely James has sorted everything in a very efficient manner. Great customer service - very professional and accommodating.

I was greeted on arrival and the shurgurd technician was very helpful and informative. They were communicative and explained the rules and procedures clearly. They run me through how to get into the unit in out of hours and explained the 6 am till 11pm rule. My perfect example of customer service, thank you again James.

Is the first time that I'm using Shurgard Self-Storage City Airport and I was happily pleased by their customer service. James was very helpful and patient. He clarify any questions I had in a polite manner. James showed me the around and all the steps multiple times in order to fully understand how the system works.

At this stage I haven't made a decision about whether I'm going for Shurgard, but I bombarded the person on the other end of the call - Chad - with a lot of questions. He was open and honest, and answered every question I had for him. He was approachable (as one can be on a telephone call), friendly and professional.

User friendly website very easy to reserve or book your unit. Once all done went into the branch to get access to the unit. Was dealt with a gentlemen named Boris, very polite and well mannered showed me around before i got things moving in. All in all top notch service from Shurgard London City Airport team.

Concrete at the ramp to the 2nd door has gone, when you have a trolley with some weight on it, it doesn't even get up the bump. Coming back out the unit it's a bump coming out the door which before has made items fall off the trolley

I had a great experience. It is very clean and felt secure although some reviews seem to suggest otherwise. Perhaps yellow storage have slightly tighter security if that’s important for you.

Easy to get to storage for Excel Centre. Walkable. There is quite a bit of dial pads to go through when getting to your locker. And the customer service is a bit so so.
