November 2022 - I highly recommend not going to the Pharmacy at this location ( university plaza SDM ) - we have had continuous issues with their pharmacy team over charging us for prescriptions, as well as lacking compassion with inquires about medication, negative responses over the phone, long long long on hold wait times, being told our medication will be ready in 1 hour, to come back in 2 hours and again waiting for 20-30 minutes. Consumer service goes a long way... Today after arguing with us for HOURS in store and over the phone about our private benefits for our 5 year old Inhaler and Antibiotic medication - they first tried to tell us it would cost us 150$ for the prescription for a 5 year old ( yes, FIVE year old ) my husband had to call me in panic questioning what to do - which made NO sense as we have private insurance!? But then thinking to myself IF for any reason my child was not covered they automatically get covered under OHIP + until 24 years of age! So here i am arguing with the receptionist over the phone about why they would even think charging us 150$ is appropriate and if they again CLAIM we DO NOT have private insurance, as then the kids are covered under OHIP. I argued that she needs to re-look at her computer as we have INSURANCE and again she refused to even comprehend what I was saying. Suddenly she says the submitted it through the government and we have to pay 6.75$ which again is confusing and wrong as OHIP would cover 100% and IF THEY WOULD GO THROUGH OUR INSURANCE, we would pay 3.99$ for a dispensing fee. so again after 2 hours of calling Shoppers to question, being told someone will call me back after shes on BREAK ( and never did, i waited well over an hour) , and Calling my Insurance company to clarify and confirm i am correct, then again again calling SDM Pharmacy to be put on hold for around 10 minutes, the Pharmacist picks up the line only to have a similar conversation about how we are incorrect - ONLY to finally listen to the costumer and what i am actually saying.....where i let them know maybe they need to change the input of the claim information.... Suddenly we have Private Insurance for our children. thank you for making our night frustrating and refusing to properly communicate with your clients. we will be taking our prescriptions after we obtain our refund and go elsewhere. **** they are full out scamming people, playing with medical insurance and over pricing!! Check your prescriptions ***** ————— Update 2023 November 14 - same issues, charging us for prescriptions we have coverage for and telling us to go deal with it with our insurance and having to argue over and over again to correct themselves as WE HAVE INSURANCE!!!! Criminals behind the pharmacy counter
I have been going here for many years although this last year or so has been disappointing in regards to the pharmacy. On many occasions I have been notified that my prescription is ready for pickup and when I get there it is partially filled, this most recent time it was only filled for 2 days worth when it was ordered for refill an entire week earlier. They leave you to find out you have 0 refills and this last time I had prompted them as I picked up my last refill to send in a request to my doctor for a refill - 3 months later they haven't done so and also requested it from the wrong doctor. They also had called me and inquired if I actually needed a refill on one of my medications because they technician didn't know about sustained release and instant release medications - which I would have expected they ask the pharmacist about this rather than calling me. Now I'm a day away from a 10 day trip with no medication because they hadn't ordered any in despite it being requested a week ago (and I let them know about my trip and the importance of it being filled). I can't continue going here.
I get prescribed Suboxone which is a painkiller that's prescribed differently than others. There are very specific rules with administering this medicine, so I started getting it from this shoppers and the pharmacist had no idea the rules and regulations surrounding the medication (which can be life threatening). My medicine is supposed to be put in a lockbox at the pharmacy & I'm supposed to take an 'observed dose' meaning they are by law required to watch me dissolve it uder my tongue (it's an opioid used for people with addiction), & finally they are supposed to mark down the time and date I take it and get my signature... They didn't do any of these things which is a little disturbing until my doctor's office called them and told them they have to be more careful and do their job properly. If I was abusing the medicine I could have saved it up and taken it to get high or sell. Hopefully they learn from their mistakes. Also very rude.
I booked a booster shot, came in time but the team to service us was very disorganized. The line was building up while a young Indian-looking nurse was sitting and playing with her phone for 20 min. When we complained, she filled out 4-5 syringes and put them aside, still not taking the next client. I don't think she should do it. The shot itself was much more painful than the previous 2 that i did in Toronto. I still wonder how did she manage to cause so much pain with such a tiny needle. Then she gave me a printout with the time when I can leave, except that time has long past. This means pple with complications would not wait for 20 min and leave right after the shot, against the guidelines. My husband visited the in other time slot and had even more delays, despite of booking.
Theresa is an awful pharmacist. My wife called with questions about supplements and she was extremely rude and knew absolutely nothing about women's health and supplements for women. Her answers were " no, I don't know." My wife asked " You don't know anything at all about supplements for womens health?" And she replied. "No." We've called many helpful pharmacists at Shoppers in the past who have been very helpful and extremely educated and I have no idea how this pharmacist even works there when she knows nothing about basic supplements. Not only that, she is also extremely rude with a condescending tone when she doesn't know anything. I would never trust this woman with anything serious if she doesn't know anything about supplements.
Count your meds when you get them; DON’T pay for a full prescription if they say they’ll owe you the balance if they’re short stocked. 1)I picked up pkg of meds; supposed to be 18 total; counted them when I got home -was short by 3, had to go back for the rest. I even asked at time of ordering if 18 is in stock! 2) I counted them because I previously had a bad experience with this pharmacy. I had paid for 18, but they only had 5 and told me they owe me 13. But when I called for the balance, they said my order had been canceled- luckily I had receipts or they wouldn’t have given them to me - ridiculous!!! My question is; what happened to the $116 I had paid them, since they canceled it in their system. Lady was rude; Do NOT trust them!!
I have no problem with the selection of product, the customer service or price. It's the lack of help/staff for the pharmacy! Maybe because its COVID but after 6pm there is only ONE pharmacist from 6pm-12am. I come by usually between 6-8pm and it's still REALLY busy. The phone is ringing off the hook and people are waiting to be served. It's not fair to the ONE person working. They are only one person expected to do the job of 2-3. It's so sad that a HUGE corporation like shoppers/Loblaws choices saving a few bucks, rather than providing proper staff. After 8pm I can understand one pharmacist but 5-8pm is when people are getting off work and getting the last few things they need before going home.
rude managers Went there twice, the cashiers were nice, but the manager was very rude, wouldn’t stop for one second to answer my question as to whether they offered passport services. But proceeded to yell across the store that “they’re not in” and wouldn’t answer me when I asked when or if they might be in the next day. So I left. My second visit the next day. I was asking for passport services again I was met with a very rude girl who got mad at me for asking about which passport services they offer... only for her to brush me off saying she only takes photos. I understand that they are doing their jobs but I don’t understand the rudeness when I am being polite and asking simple questions.
The staff in your beauty department are excellent, and obviously well educated in skin care. Both Olga and Natasha definitely are well educated in cosmetics and they gave me the best service, and were extremely helpful when I was trying to find the correct makeup for my skin. They were patient with me and my concerns, and very knowledgable. I can't say that about the other Shoppers Drug Mart in the Dundas area, where I found the beauty staff there to be rude and not helpful at all. So Bravo to the manager of your beauty department for training your staff so well in customer service. I will now be doing all my beauty shopping at this Shoppers Drug Mart!
I have been into this store many many times. To be fair, most of the staff working there are really nice and helpful! However, I recently needed to take a passport photo which I don’t suggesst anyone doing that at shoppers (18$ for 2 pics compared with 8$ for 2 pics at Costco!!) So I went there and the lady was really unwelcoming! She did not say anything but kept me waiting while she was organizing some stuff at the store. When I asked her to retake the pic because I didn’t like it she seemed to be mad at me! She did not say anything verbally but for someone to take your picture for your passport she was really mean and not welcoming to costumers!!!
Oh my god! The worse customer service possible. Not only did their self check out not work but there’s no cashiers. And then when this big white guy with brown showed up. I don’t really his name but jeez, he’s really angry and does not like his job. He was absolutely horrible and mean. He bad mouthed the whole store and refused to help me in anyway when the machine wouldn’t take my Optimum card he huffed and glared at me. Never going back. You can thank whoever that employee was. He’s working today. Check the schedule, fire him. He does not care about anything and actively told me not to shop here. Really weird
Bad experience at this SDM on March 14, 2022. Went for a Covid antigen test. Walaa Heshin was going to do the test. Watched her interact with customers for about 15 minutes before my test. I asked her 3 times to clean her hands before collecting my swab. She refused. She said she would wash her hands after my swab…good protection for her but not for me! I ended up doing the swab myself. Hand hygiene is the single most important way to reduce the transmission of Covid. Not sure why a healthcare professional would not understand that and would refuse to clean her hands when asked. Stay away from this SDM.
Known to disconnect their phones, which is especially convenient when you are calling in a prescription. Like right now, once again I've been on hold for over an hour.. Show up in -store for the prescription and you can wait 2-3 hours, while the pharmacy takes their dinner breaks. I really feel like the pharmacy team doesn't give a S:*t. The pharmacy I used prior to this one was friendly and helpful, considerate and tardy. Usually only one retail cashier at the front of the store, who is no where to be found, and then will direct you to self- checkout.. I absolutely hate this Shopper's location.
Average Shoppers from my experience as far as the store, pharmacy and post office go. A plus for appointment availability for COVID vaccination (surrounding SDM did not have availability). A strike against for their disorganization; You book online, fill out all the info. Then you arrive and the QR checkin doesn’t work and you are required to fill out the same paperwork again. They advised that a hard copy is always required… then why have me take the time fill it out online??? 25 minutes behind booked schedule. Otherwise, friendly and seemed knowledgeable.
I live 5min from this Shopper's and had to stop trying to get my medication there. Apparently they didn't understand the importance of me having my epilepsy medication and claimed oh we don't carry it meanwhile I had been getting it for 5yrs previously at this location. I switched to Costco pharmacy and have never had an issue. My prescriptions went from $90 at SDM to $24 at Costco. That alone should make you want to change. I will say that SDM employees are always nice and try to be helpful.
Rather than have some employee trying to entice me to use the self-serve check out by assuring me he will assist me. I don't need your assistance. I need you to open up another cash!! I've been in quite a few shoppers drug Marts and have noticed a trend and confirmed it with employees that they intentionally only put one cashier on so that people will use the self-serve. Hey shoppers i'll use a self-checkout too, just as soon as you apply the employee discount to my purchases!!
A pretty good Shopper's Drug Mart overall. I was a bit put out by the fact I pre-registered for my flu shot to avoid the paperwork and they didn't have the phone number I used in their system. I repeated it several times and their system seemed to have lost it despite the confirmation text being on my phone that I was holding in my hand. Ended up having to fill in the paperwork anyways which is what I wanted to avoid. The staff were nice nonetheless.
Sabih (forgive me if I got that wrong I am terrible with names!) was the MOST helpful pharmacy tech I have ever had the pleasure of dealing with. He took the time to explain my prescriptions, answered all of my many questions and helped me fix an error that my doctor made. He was so pleasant and friendly to deal with the entire time!! He deserves a nice raise as he is super helpful and his customer service was AMAZING!! Thank you again!!
In these stressful times, it’s always so wonderful when someone goes out of their way to lend a helping hand. I received the most amazing service today from a very kind girl in cosmetics at the university plaza location, (possibly Mayada ). As a loyal shopper I’ve come to know the service is always wonderful but this young girl took it up a notch. Thank you for your help and patience. It was greatly appreciated!
I love this location but today I had a MasterCard gift card that I wanted to use to pay for my purchases,(was actually purchased here) the cashier said it's likely this won't work and she tried several times to put it through and it wouldn't work (not her fault) she even said she has stopped buying them as gifts because they don't work most of the time. So I wasn't able to use it and had to pay by debit.
I arrived 7 minutes before close and they were starting to lock up (lock the front doors and put the cages up). I stood at the door as they were locking up and the manager saw me and proceeded to continue to lock up, even after knocking on the door. I was going to pickup my wife’s prescription which was needed and hadn’t had a chance until then. Very frustrating and unprofessional.
Absolutely the worst service anywhere I've been coming here for 20 years and I have to wait in line sometimes with 10 or 15 people and today they are doing the orders for another store before they do this one my prescription My prescription was ordered at 9 o'clock this morning Usually only 2 people working shame..it is 7 pm and they are doing other stores
Worst customer service ever! Never experienced so much rudeness. They would not return my product because they did not want "their store" to take a hit. I can not believe the ignorance of these two employees, which they both ganged up on me. Went to the Shoppers up the street and had no issues. Will never be shopping at this location again.
I can sympathize and agree with comment of the person below me. Shoppers prices are absolutely outrages! You may get most items at Dollar Store for the fraction of the price. So the point is, they can afford to have more cashiers open when it is "busy time"! The worst can happen: the filthy rich owners will pocket a bit less as a result!
Got passport photos taken here, went to service Canada and they didn't approve the photos. Do NOT go here for passport photos. Go to Walmart instead, they use Kodak software to approve it for a passport photo. Also, shoppers was $25. Walmart is $10 right now. To conclude, the Walmart photo got approved, the shoppers one didn't.
I often visit this SDM to use the post office and notice that there is almost always only one cashier even with a huge queue of people waiting. Why in 2016 is there no self service checkout? Update: Now charges for plastic bags. Automatic 1 star. Nothing like a greedy corporation nickel and diming paying customers.
I used to like this SDM but I waited 8 min on hold just to get hung up on by the pharmacist while trying to fill my prescriptions. While I was talking about my first prescription the pharmacist said that she would fax my doctor and hung up on me. I didnt even get to my second prescription.
Regarding the pharmacy: I really appreciate the pharmacist there. She’s so helpful, knowledgeable, and really efficient. Really lovely choice. Regarding the rest of the store: It’s always clean and there’s always someone behind the counter. Really nice to see young hardworking staff.
I would give this place -10000 stars if I could. Worst pharmacy service ever. Refused to fill my prescription because another pharmacist had made a mistake. Do not go here!!! They have no idea what they are doing and it will take you 2+ hours to get your prescription filled
just called the pharmacy with some inquiries a few minutes ago. The girl was exceptionally helpful, even getting me phone numbers for additional support. I haven't been to this location, but I was impressed with this young employee and her patience at the pharmacy.
New Pharmacy Owner, it no friend of any seniors in Dundas. Finding them rude, condescending. I feel that if you challenge them, they go out of their way to mix things up. It does not matter what you say, they point to their computer screen, that is the final word.
The green-haired lady in the beauty section is SOOOOOO HELPFUL. Every single product she has ever recommended, from hair care to makeip, works perfect for me. She really listens to my needs and recommend products accordingly. This store is lucky to have her …
Second year in a row that I signed up for my flu shot at the University Plaza store and the night before the appointment I received notification that the store doesn't have any shots available! What a waste of time. Never again for me at this store!
Never anyone working at the cash, 40 cents for a super thi k plastic bag. Over priced unless it's the weekend. But the employees to work hard, there's just not enough of them. I guess the owner cares more about his bank account than
You can just go to shoppers and find more than what you are looking for . Their products variety starts from make up, perfumes, skin and hair care allows you to choose and enjoy these products beside the food, drinks, and other items
The manager today was very rude I wanted to buy an item but it had no price so she told me that it was 7 dollars then disappeared came back then told it was now 17 dollars I said what happened to 7 well it’s 17 now stormed off
My daughter booked a Bivalent Covid vaccination. She was DENIED THE VACCINE! They said 3.5 months between vaccines was not enough (WRONG!!) THREE months is the minimum, six months is merely a reccomendation!!
Pharmacy staff refused to take benefit information over phone. Not helpful or cooperative when an out of town parent is attempting to help their sick university student. Will not be using them in the future.
The shoppers seems under-staffed at times but I think they do their best to be helpful. The pharmacy team is excellent, I would give them 5 out of 5. Same goes for the post office, they are very helpful.
I just met the best most knowledgeable pharmacist I have ever run into at a pharmacy. Viktor was more than helpful. Most people dont care in the retail industry anymore. But viktor cares.and it shows .
As soon as you walk into this store - someone follows you around just like a shadow. You can't even look around and see what product is the best for your personal use. Are you so desperate for sales -
Half the time when I go to the store for the eggs on sale, at least one egg in each carton is broken and some lids look dark. if you want more stars then sell your bad eggs for $1 not $3.49
The supervisor was so rude and no customer communication skills. She billed us the wrong one and when asked started raising voice again me and throwing stuff around like Psych..
Too expensive, I've saved a bunch by going to a different pharmacy. Also they weren't very nice to my bf, and we always had to wait for awhile, they don't seem well prepared.
Not safe, no one monitoring the door, so how do they know what the capacity is??? How do they keep track of people not wearing masks???
Absolutely the worst pharmacy ever! They are so sssssslow!!! My god. Ready in “30” mins, 2 hours later and you’re still waiting.
Owner/Head Pharmacist called and explained what went wrong with my prescription order. Thank you for going that extra mile.
Amazing Diverse and Compassionate staff, the fastest kindest Canada Post clerks iv witnessed, extensive available hours.
Great service! Very friendly Pharmacist, always takes the time to answer all my medical questions. Highly recommend!!
always pleasant environment in the shoppers, plus wonderful customer service in post office. They open until 12 am!
Worst Shoppers I have been to, Pharmacist was rude and not helpful at all. Would not suggest my enemy to go there !
Convenient place to get things you need. They have a good variety of stuff, but be prepared to pay a little more.
always has what i’m looking for. self checkout is super easy to use. i can usually find pretty good deals as well
Had me sitting and waiting for my prescription for almost an hour even tho it was sitting on the counter.
Lovely Shoppers! All the cashiers are so friendly and willing to help. Would definitely visit again! :)
Awesome staff at this location. They are always willing to help and greet you with a friendly smile.
If you want to get in at 8am when they open good luck, even if it's 10mins later who cares?
Overall they are always slow and rarely answer their phone. I regret switching pharmacies.
Great customer service and staff, one of the best shoppers drug mart I must say !
Great pharmacy if you want to sit on hold all day just to cancel an appointment
Went at 9:30 on Family Day App said holiday hours open @ 9. They were closed!
Always friendly staff. Clean and lots of sales. Pharmacy is great! …
Can be good. Pharmacy is hit or miss; but can be great if on top of them.
bad experience with the staff. Poor service. Only the cashiers are good.
Average shoppers. Most staffs are friendly. Items out of stock a lot.
has a canada post section in the back, big store - not too busy.
Sent out parcels then got my flu shot. Everything went well
Decent selection, open late, and has a post office.
Very organized place and I recommend this place.
Very helpful, knowledgeable pharmacy staff.
Organized shop with good deals on weekends.
Decent selection, staff is helpful.
Nice and clean and organized
Staff are the best here 8-)
Need more rubbing alcohol.
Sometimes there are deals
Good place for anything!
its okay I guess.
