Close to a year ago we starting researching the process to refinish our kitchen cabinets. We found that there were 2 main processes - using solvent based lacquer and water based. Most web sites recommended Water based but Sharrard Painting used Solvent. We were concerned on using Solvent but Todd's website was very professional in providing details on the procedure and advantages. A visit to Todd's shop also gave more detail on the procedure and a look and feel on the finished product. Another concern was the smell of using a Solvent based lacquer on the "bones" of the cabinets (parts that could not be removed to his shop). Todd showed us his venting machine with a portable air exchange. The information provided by Todd and his in depth website convinced us to select Sharrard Painting for refinishing our cabinets from the original Ginger colour to Dove White. We made the right choice - Todd was professional in his performance, keep us advised on the process, always cleaned up as much as possible the kitchen every night which allowed us to use it to prepare our meals. Even the smell was a lot less than we thought and only lasted a couple of hours. At the end, the kitchen looked like it was the original one installed. Another point is that a friend had their cabinets refinished at the same times using the water based process. Our cabinets were smoother to the touch than theirs. After finishing my exhaustive research on what, how and who, I started to realize that quality only comes by using the best products. I knew I didn’t want water-based paint, no hand painting and the finish had to be perfect. Armed with all this new cabinet painting knowledge I set out to find the right person. After several conversations with different contractors, I started to realize the cut-rate, cheap contractors were only talking about price. Then I met Todd, he educated me on the quality of his product, his materials and process. He informed me about how they use a 100% post catalyzed solvent (oil) based LACQUER solution = hard as nails / factory-like finish. Then walked me through the Surface Prep, Priming and Finish Coat. His professionalism sold me! The prep was amazing and when “paint” day came I was impressed and my expectations were surpassed as I was amazed at just how quickly and neatly the painting got done. The job was completed right on schedule and the quality was top tier. Our cabinets with our new Edgecomb Gray HC-173 paint from BM gave us that's timeless with a modern edge look. Todd was great from start to finish on our kitchen cabinet and door repainting process. He started with a detailed quote and walk through of the process, along with expected timelines. We had spoken to several different painters and companies in Oakville and Burlington, and it became clear that we needed to find someone who specialized in cabinets and doors. I also appreciated the fact that they are local, with a shop in Oakville. Todd was able to advise us in terms of when to do the cabinets if we were also doing the countertops or backsplash, to make sure things were done in the right order. Todd was also very helpful in suggesting colour options to match our expectations - you would be surprised how many shades of white there are. He was able to streamline the process with a few samples, and pointed us in the right direction on colour tones. The work began on the agreed upon date, took the exact amount of time on site and off site as quoted, and had the doors freshly painted and reinstalled within a few weeks as indicated. The work is extremely high quality and Todd has great attention to detail. He spotted potential issues I would have never even considered, and took care of everything along the way. We live in Milton and investigated many of the companies offering kitchen cupboard painting services. Todd's website was by far the most informative and showed a level of detail and knowledge that gave us an immediate sense of trust. Todd was able to give us an accurate quotation from photographs of the kitchen and outlined exactly what to expect. His work was absolutely perfect. His attention to the minutest of details was phenomenal and we couldn't be more pleased with his work. They sprayed all of the interior surfaces in one day and took the cupboards away to spray them at their facility. They also changed all of our cabinet and drawer pulls (there were 53 doors and drawers in total), filling the old holes at their facility and drilling the new ones on site to perfection during the installation. Our new gleaming white kitchen (well, silver satin) is bright and modern and really looks brand new compared to our original as you can tell in the photos attached. I fully recommend him and his team for their professional work and Todd specifically for his personality and attention to detail.

We are located in Waterdown and hired Todd to spray paint our kitchen cabinets. My experience was excellent with Todd and his crew. I decided to go with Todd to spray paint my kitchen for a couple of reasons: 1.) The type of paint used (lacquer not water based) 2.) The fact that everything was spray painted rather than painted with a brush. I was a little worried about my newly installed hardwood floors and countertops but Todd and his crew made sure that everything was covered and protected. I read some negative reviews about the smell of the lacquer paint. I found that the smell only lasted a couple of hours due to the venting system he used. Todd did some little extras like removing the wine rack, adding shelves and installing trim around the base. He did a great job. My cabinets look and feel brand new. I am so happy with the end-result. My kitchen looks amazing. I 100% recommend Todd Sharrard to spray paint your cabinets. You will not regret it.

After much research with cabinet refacing and painting we decided to go with Todd and his crew. I explored many places but I liked that he was local in Oakville and his vast knowledge of cabinetry. I went to his facility and was shown the entire process from beginning to end. He took our 17 year old brown cupboards and updated them to a beautiful modern look which really opened up our kitchen. We had our kitchen cupboards refinished by Sharrard Painting just under two years ago. Todd and his team were professional, completed the work on time and it totally transformed the look of our kitchen for a fraction of what it would have cost us to switch out our cabinets. About a month ago, we noticed two cupboards that had some minor issues that we were hoping Todd's team could repair - as opposed to us trying to do our own unprofessional attempts at "touch ups". Cabinets look like new! We just moved into our new house in July and although the maple cabinets in the kitchen and baths were in great shape, the colour (bleached oak) was not to our taste. Todd did an outstanding job! Typically, cabinets are lacquered without the backs, which are sprayed separately and installed afterward. Spraying the cabinets in place is much harder. The job is as close to perfect as one could hope, and the result is a stunning built in cabinet. Just as impressive - his price was lower than any other quotations I got, and the turnaround time was great. Highly recommend him and his work.

There aren't enough stars to truly reflect the quality of work and professionalism that we experienced. From start to finish, we were overwhelmingly impressed. Our Etobicoke kitchen looks new, with a better painted finish than what we started with and new handles.
