when it wasn’t right, they didn’t want to know! In haste, I bought a second hand mattress which I viewed in the storeroom upright. I queried the size as it was shorter then other doubles but was told this was because the quality filling was warping a little due to being on its end but would all come right when horizontal again. As I was in a hurry and they were able to deliver I went ahead and bought this. The two hour delivery window we were assigned was missed by an hour and unfortunately the mattress was too short for the bed. After a week I phoned the shop being asked to call back when the governor returned that afternoon. Over the next three weeks I phoned at least 3 times a week to request a return, or some kind of reduced resale, or even collection but was told to wait to speak to the governor. Eventually I managed to get through to the governor (who sounded exactly like the other man I'd spoken to) to be told - finally! - no you can't return it and no we don't want it back. I am very disappointed with the lack of clear communication and wasted time trying to get an answer. Also the quality of goods, but that’s a good learning curve for me not to buy second hand mattresses again...

The best experience of buying furniture that I’ve ever had. This place is a gem for people searching for good quality discounted furniture, as a student I know that it’s hard finding something unique yet affordable to decorate your home or make it more comfortable. The staff was incredibly nice and patient with me and offered free to room delivery for my purchase, wich meant the world as I live alone and have no one to help me with heavier items. The furniture arrived on the same day and the delivery people were super nice as well. Overall good quality, a bargain and a service that you won’t be getting in big retail stores right now. Will be recommending this place to my Goldsmiths uni mates living nearby)

Never get them to clear your house or flat of furniture. They will cheat you. The amount they were paying for a decent flat furniture clearance was confirmed in writing in advance. They changed the time on the day they had arranged to come and even then were nearly 2 hours late to pick up. So they couldn't manage to finish in time so i had to go back another day. Afterwards it took four reminders before they finally paid for the furniture and then they paid less than agreed. This was particularly unpleasant as Billy knew the money was going towards the funeral expenses of an elderly guy they all knew and chatted to as he lived round the corner from the shop.

I'm not sure where they get the prices from in here. I asked about a couple of glass cabinets. He wanted 75 quid each for them. I've got the same ones at home. They're only 30 quid each brand new. I'm not sure if they expect you to haggle or something, because there was some mirrors in there I've seen in b&m that are 20 quid cheaper new than he was asking. It just doesn't make sense what he's asking for stuff. I wanted some old scratched albums for an art project. He wanted a fiver each for old scratched records that were unplayable. I dont mess around haggling, this isn't Karachi, so I just walked out. I'm sure they pull numbers out of the air.

So polite, kind and friendly throughout the process - from initially messaging to enquire right up until collecting the garden set, the whole team are wonderful , I couldn't ask for better service. Funny because we always drove past and said we wanted to check it out then one day we find a listing on Facebook which brought us here and we're so glad to have discovered it . They have a fantastic range of furniture in a wide variety of styles to suit all tastes, and all excellent value. I've bought items (solid wood shelves and drawers) from here in person at their shop and online from their website over the last two months, all were in great condition and at a very good price. Their customer service and communication are also excellent. My items were delivered the next day for free by friendly delivery men who kindly brought them up the stairs to my flat. Well worth a visit to their shop or website.

Quick, professional and personal service! We ordered a range of furniture we found on their website. Some of the items were in their storage in Kent and some in London, but that was not a problem. Delivery was fast, professional and carried out in a COVID secure way. We contacted them yesterday and received the items today. They even carried them into the flat. This place has some spectacular pieces of furniture - lots of variety and most of it is in really good condition. We got a lovely book case and some bed side tables (full disclosure we spotted a near exact version of book case at M&S the next day for 5 x the price). The staff were also really helpful and patient - they cleaned the furniture and delivered it up to our apartment. Can't fault this place :)

Met 2 lovely lads who were so helpful. Billy is an absolute character and seems to go out of his way to be helpful and kind to you. They delivered our items free due to our 2 mile radius proximity to the warehouse. So many interesting items to have a look through, and I must say I was having a bit of a bad day before then, and the staff lit up my day!! Definitely returning for more wares !!

The service today at Second Time Around was brilliant. I bought a microwave and Billy and David went above and beyond so I could get it home, originally they offered me a trolley to take it on but David ended up giving me a lift in the van. The prices are good and the staff are friendly - if you're looking for furniture or appliances in South London definitely go to Second Time Around.

We went in looking for a piece of art for our house. Although there were several pieces none tickled our fancy. I must emphasise the professionalism and friendliness of Adrian, he was very helpful. Despite not finding what we were looking for, we were amazed at how many options there are, you could easily decorate your home with items from this place alone. Would highly recommend!

Deceptively excellent selection of all sorts. Can't judge a book by its cover springs to mind as have passed this place many times and haven't stopped as looks a bit naff. Exploring their second space revealed all sorts of treasures, from beautiful antique mirrors to gorgeous chest of drawers and wardrobes. There is literally something for everyone at this place.

Just moved into a new house and had some excess furniture that didn't work in the new house. Spoke to the guys at Second Time Around and they were great. Visited my new house the next day, took a look at the furniture and quoted a fair price. They took it all away and even an arm chair that I (and they) didn't want! Would recommend!

We picked up this great buy on the weekend. You can really get lost in two of their warehouses as long as like to find treasures. You should definitely have patience to walk around and look in every nook & cranny. Great shop and assistance even in the horrible rain. The gentleman helped us load into the car easily.

Awesome 2nd hand furniture shop. Reserved a mirror online. Went to pick it up and left with the mirror plus another mirror plus a coat stand! A proper treasure trove of quality used furniture. Plenty of variety of second hand stuff to choose in the heart of Lewisham. Free delivery or delivery for £5 is great. The only con I found is the prices are not a bargain anymore. They have many previously used beautiful furniture but still a little bit overpriced.
