This is NOT A SAFEWAY GROCERY STORE, ignore all photos and reviews that try to claim otherwise. This is Saveway, known to locals as "Mamasans," "murdermart," or "smash n grab." For an urban minimart in a bad part of town, it's good enough. Open late for the nightclubs on the weekends. Don't expect to buy single beers here, this neighborhood doesn't allow it. If it's still early enough, skip buying smokes here and go south on 1st ave to the smoke shop just south of the Bread Of Life Mission for better prices and variety.

Stopped in to use the restroom. Was rudely informed “the restrooms don’t open until 8:00am”. This was at 7:47am. Yet the store has been open two hours, since 6:00 am. Seriously? What kind of policy is this? I have a medical issue that makes having to go pretty urgent. This particular Safeway store is horribly managed and simply sucks. Used to be my main store and pharmacy but I will go out of my way to never shop here again.

Im visiting the area for a few days and I needed a place close by that sells quick and easy meals. Not only was this location accessible from the light rail shuttle car but it was easy to find and they had everything I needed. Breakfast, lunch, dinner, snacks, and even plenty of drinks. Pricey, but for the convenience it was exactly what I was looking for!

Good people mom&pop store... so no shoplifting, they are good, honest, hardworking people that don't deserve to be stole from, keep your shoplifting to the big bullies on the block like Walmart, top foods, and home depot.. you shouldn't steel from them either (but this isn't an ethics class, it's more like pre-ethics)

Little market with a modern rough and tumble general store vibe. My #1 neighborhood random necessities go-to. In the thick of the PSQ "club scene" and the shelters, and everyone is generally respectful and polite in going about their business.

Worst customer service , they are rude to everyone . No matter who you are they will treat you like garbage. Place is nasty and they don’t clean. And they have homeless people sleeping in the back corner sometimes . So unsanitary

Worst customer service. Got screamed at for trying to use the restroom that I later learned is not public. There are no visible signs. I was going to buy something, but I won’t be coming back. Surprised I didn’t get punched

Also known as Mamsans, this market is the heart of Occidental Park. With aisles of all you need and didn't think you did, but on second thought...come in for the coffee, keep coming back for the experience.

Tried to rip me off. The man at the register added $15 extra dollars to my total. I confronted him and he finally reduced my total. TOTAL RIP-OFF!!!!! Add up your items before paying!!!!!

Definitely expected this to be a "SAFEway" until I showed up and realized I read wrong. Very rough setting, but convenient if I need a Gatorade in the middle of the workday.

Just a good local shop for the Pioneer square neihborhood for the most part. You can also stop there for stuff on the way to the stadiums.

  • david Delacruz

Convenient. Don't expect customer service. You get it there but they get a lot of issues with rough area. Great store for pioneer square.

  • Shane Zenoby

Bottom line is they have most of the basics. There is no customer service but it’s not hostile either. Didn’t love it, didn’t hate it.

  • Sw33t00th Official

Employees are respectful and nice but i purchased an elf bar that was auto firing and they would not exchange it for a new one

  • Ben Kordash

Staff can be rude at times, and they are way overpriced, but it'll do in a pinch. Be careful of the neighborhood after dark

  • Steffany

5 stars solely for having mountain dew voltage when nowhere else around does, especially the bigger bottle. Cool workers.

  • Jamie Campbell

Very nice little shop. People that work there are friendly and a larger selection than most convenience stores in Seattle
