"Calling this a sunny church from the 1400s definitely undersells it"
"Unfortunately the church was closed and we couldn’t see anything"
St. Petri kirke. (St. Peters church). It wasn't on the map, but I saw a sign to go in. The church itself is very plain and boring. But pay 25kr and get the key. The attendant opens a secret door and viola a mosoleum from the 1600s containing the bastards of the kings, prominent families and leaders of Denmark. Jackpot if you like funerary art and history
Sankt Petri Kirke er en tysksproget evangelisk-luthersk kirke midt i København. Kirken er den ældste bevarede i Københavns indre by. Tårnet, midterskibet og koret stammer fra det 15. århundrede.
Peaceful. The 'garden' behind allows you to relax in a calm atmosphere (unless there are kids playing in the playground). I sat there for a while with a sunny weather and a little breeze.
Calling this a sunny church from the 1400s definitely undersells it. The interior isn’t as lavish as so many but it’s such a historical gem it should be on everyone’s agenda.
Unfortunately the church was closed and we couldn’t see anything. It is in the city's Latin Quarter and it is the oldest building in central Copenhagen. So now you know it.
The church itself has nothing especial, but the statue about the death in the garden is totally worthy to check.
Very beautiful church, and guide Cristen was so sweet and gave such cool bonus information about the building
I think the tower alone is worth visit. Not sure about the children’s swing and park close but there is one.
A small and beautiful church. It has a tower that you can reach it to see the city.
Amazing. We were lucky enough to visit when several people were rehearsing.
Beautiful quite oasis in the middle of the City. Next to University.
Nice church services at 11 on Sundays. They are in German.
It is a beautiful church in Copenhagen.
Flot kirke..virkelig et besøg værd...
Har forfædre som blev gift der 1817.
En af Københavns smukkeste kirker.
