Had nothing but issues since we got here. Although your rooms aren't the worst I've seen, the service and attitude given from the man at the front desk overall is completely disgusting and reflects poorly on your business. curtains don't completely cover the windows, the bathtub could probably go a good round of bleaching to bring up the black marks in the tub, maybe provide smaller kettles that can actually fit under the sink to refill (plenty of tea of coffee if you're a caffeine addict though, I really like that!) Get rid of that lazy man at the front counter who sighs and rolls his eyes when you ask something and then continues to talk to you like you're an idiot (probably shouldn't have him around people... ever!) but I did briefly speak to a lady behind the counter is very kind and approachable. But seriously get your internet sorted, that's not Wi-Fi, that's a joke. Have more rubbish collection pick-up, there's nothing good about having overflowing skip bins with more rubbish piled up around it. Maybe ask your live-in residents to not be nasty to your guests, there's nothing more intimidating than trying to park your car with someone screaming at us because they live there. On the positive though, the carpets are really nice, microwave and decent size fridge available, and the pool is very well maintained.

I had to give 1 star otherwise it would have been 0 stars. My work colleague and myself stayed in room 17 on Monday 28th January 2019. The room was disgustingly filthy, we opened the cupboard underneath the microwave and there was someone else's old KFC boxes with rotten food inside. I picked up a so called clean glass from the counter top to use and it was filthy and smeared with what looked like oil or grease. The mirror behind the TV was absolutely filthy and hadn't been cleaned in ages. The bedside cabinets looked like they had been ripped of a wall somewhere and then just plonked next the bed, they still had ripped plywood sticking out where they had been ripped off. The couch was broken and wobbled when sat on. The power point behind the TV had surface conduit going to a smoke detector higher up the wall, there was no power at the power point. Other power points in the room had the covers missing. Although updated the bathroom was in much need of attention, there was no fan so everything steamed up when showering. The shower head connections were broken and sprayed more water towards the back wall than onto yourself. On a positive note there were no bed bugs. This place made Fawlty Towers look awesome.

Excellent location, approx. 5kms from Sandown Raceway. But, location is the best thing about this motel. Old furniture and rubbish is left in view of the rooms balconies, and plant waste is stacked up in an otherwise empty garden bed and composting before your very eyes. I'm unsure of whether or not this is the same with all the doors to the rooms, but the door to the room we stayed in required some force and key jiggling to open. But hey, at least no-one can break in! A opened, partially drank can of V Energy was found on my balcony, and a hair found in the bathroom close by the toilet paper. The air conditioner remote doesn't work and the air conditioners desperately need a service. If you have any level of a dust mite allergy, book somewhere else, please. As someone with a very bad dust mite allergy, I barely slept and my nose didn't clear for hours afterwards. When we awoke in the morning, ants were crawling down the wall from a small hole in the roof. But, the sheets were clean enough and the beds semi-comfortable. You get what you pay for for $145 a night.

sandown? more like run down this place is pretty high on the list of places I'd really rather not stay in again. don't stay here if you have a choice. the furniture looks like its from the 90s and hasn't been repaired. the cleaning leaves a lot to be desired. there were various marks all over the sofa in the room not to mention the Gummi Bears stashed down the side. the balcony outside had a sticky floor. the bedside table was pretty awesome. there was a lamp in the middle underneath of which was a good layer of dust but surrounding the lamp the table was clean (ish). so housekeeping cleaned around the lamp but not under the lamp. hilarious. other reviews have mentioned the pancake flat pillows the bathroom was actually surprisingly clean. but there was some leftover packaging from the previous tenant under the sink and they also left some soap fragments in the bathtub so minus points there. the shower head sprayed water everywhere necessitating some inconvenient shower door placement so that the rest of the bathroom didn't have a shower with you. overall it's in dire need of renovation. the pictures aren't being really honest. stay here at your own peril.

the place is like.. how can i say it. well the rooms, the renovated ones i mean are nice however they are poorly maintained. there is never any light bulbs in the lamps, the foxtel doesn't work well, the front door doesnt lock properly and the staff well oh my they are quite the characters. this hotel management tell you one price of the bond on the phone and give you another massively increased amount upon looking at you and judging you. they open the rooms without notice and all in all are just dangerous to many who stay here. trouble makers. also your not allowed to smoke on the balcony, what the and they are party poopers. shutting the pool at dusk on a 41 degree day. also if you're so much as 10 mins past checkout time expect your bond or credit card to incur charges. so my review. there a joke however its clean and i like the rooms but make sure you don't by any means break or even bend there rules cos you will pay around the sandown regency

Stayed here with work a few times the rooms are decent. House keeping mad bed everyday and fresh towels. Could not get the Foxtel working as it states on the website. While I was here it appeared that they where going through and gutting rooms and upgrading them. I had a older room not yet done. The in house kitchen buffet was horrible and not kept warm had it the first night went else where the rest of the week. The lovely man at reception was nice and kind. Over all ok for the price. Until work out me up hear again two weeks later and we got a so called self contained apartment. No hot plate now bowls no plates portacot had no base just a few pillows spread out for the 5 month out as we got in late reception had shut shortly after we checked in.. Barth room has mould stains and is hardly safe to put your children in. Will be asking for a refund in the morning and changing hotels

Late check-in was handy but that's all. It was, filthy, cutlery/utensils were dirty, no sheets replaced so not even a sheet on the bed for last night, didn't return cash bond saying they had from our last stay, metal poles holding door between open, fridge in kids room so kept waking them, jets on bath to hard in 1 bathroom & didn't work at all in other rooms bathroom, screen doors for balcony (if U can call it that) falling of, bad heating first night, bad WiFi, 2 room keys between 3 rooms & son with mental problems locked himself out of his room at 9:30pm & no one in office to help till 9am next morning (which caused a lot of probs including my car windscreen getting smashed, list goes on but running out of time & room. We will NEVER go back there again.

I booked this motel and I stay one night I can’t sleep in the room whole night I stay in my car I don’t know I spent a lot money but it’s just not worth it because I need to sleep whole night in the car because there’s so many bugs in the room and they not vacuum the room properly i can’t say properly because they didn’t vacuum the room it’s all dirty everywhere too much dust in the room and even on the bed and there’s are a lot dog hairs on the bed and on the carpet. In the bathroom towels all dirty and in the cupboard they are alot of the bugs and I can’t stay for one minutes moreover the motel fees also non refundable because they also know rooms are dirty that’s why they don’t want to refund the money. I think this motel must need to change a lot things and must need regular inspection.

Plenty of free parking in the grounds of the hotel. Room was clean,spacious and had a sofa plus sliding doors to outdoor space. I was ground floor had pool view. Rooms on higher two floors had balconies. The room itself is in need of an update, especially the bathroom. However bathroom was very usable and for the price of $90 I wasn't expecting a glamorous room. To be honest considering the price,the room was better than I thought it would be. Couldn't find anything else under $100 and this was well under. So I actually hope they don't renovate because that would push price up. Sometimes you don't care how modern and glamorous a room is , you just want something comfortable and cheap which this room was. So please leave at least some of the the rooms unrenovated so there is a cheap alternative in the area

Dirty, filthy, mouldy bathroom, stained blankets, chairs and not ONE good thing to say about this place. If I could give it a zero I would. I was told that management would get it vacuumed again but it obviously wasn’t important enough - they didn’t. Sadly a good clean would make such a difference but they get away with advertising online with photos that bare no resemblance to reality and they keep taking the good money from innocent people who book online from these photos. Like I DID! More fool me. Please don’t stay here, read these reviews and move on. It’s not even a really cheap place! They should pay ME to stay here.

Although stayed there for 1 night, the room was very disgusting and dirty. The carpet was so dirty and filthy as if never been cleaned for years and moulds in the walls.It was mentioned in the website that the room is fully furnished with kitchen equipment but had to ask for every little extra thing. Wifi does not work at all, cob webs everywhere, bathroom was so old and dirty, leaking under the kitchen sink, hairpins, pins and needles on bedside and coffee container.Everything mentioned in the website are fake.Not worth paying the money. Would highly not recommend it to anyone. Its worth to pay some extra $$$ somewhere else than this place. Worst experience ever had in my lifetime. Very disappointed.

Would not have picked this place myself. Stayed here as part of a junior basketball team last weekend (Queen's birthday long weekend). BIGGEST MISTAKE! Opened the door and....shock horror. The smell!! Phew! Almost puked! Had to go to the supermarket to buy air freshener. Bought 2 of the hanging type ("Magic Tree" brand, $2.75 each) as had the most impact to get rid of the stench in quick time. No table inside to eat on so dragged the one from the balcony which had an ashtray full of butts on it. Carpet filthy - was not game to walk barefoot. Couch - nah, ain't sittin' on that thing! Stayed here twice. First stay was great. Nice clean room. Pleasent experience. Second stay was a danger for my safety as i had someone attempt to break into my room at 3am while i was sleeping. Left a note for management team to investigate. No one called me to address this. I called mamagement later in the day was just told Police.was informed. Was expecting a call back. Was hoping for a follow up. Mamagement didnt show any concern to call back again. The glass sliding doors are not safe on the pool side entrance and it seems thieves can break in easily. Very run down, untidy, filthy & horrible! The taps in the bathroom need urgent attention. Loose and dangerous! No blankets provided, had to ask. The room smelled of vintage urine, circa 1970s, same time as it was built. It's noisy due to Princes Hwy traffic, It also smelled heavy of curry due to the attached restaurant. The wifi came up as dangerous on my phone before I tried to connect to it. I was going to call reception for the password beforehand but, the phone in the room was disconnected/not working. Take your own pillows if all this appeals to you. Added - They asked what room I had in responding. They had my card and name and still don;t know what room!

We needed somewhere to stay with 4 kids, 2 infants, 2 teens, 2 adults. We were treated AMAZINGLY! We were given a multitude of rooms to choose from, for our family's comfort. We were given 2 separate rooms and charged no extra! We were given exceptional hospitality and when we asked for extra towels for the pool, we were given extra. Whatever we required, it was given. We even asked for late check out at midday, at no extra cost! I was informed they are recently under new management. Simply, amazing, friendly staff and comfy surrounds! Thanks Rima and staff!

Sorry to say, but this place was not up to a good standard for hygiene, cleanliness and overall safety. There were bugs, cigarette burns on the furniture and oil stains on linen. Back door looked clearly broken, (cracked glass and was not properly installed) and could not lock - the back is shared with other guests, no dividers or anything. Partner and I felt really unsafe and made the executive decision to leave in the middle of the night. Staff were friendly though.

Came for a wedding to the Sandown Regency Reception and one of the toilets was blocked and you could smell the sewage from where we were sitting just near the bridal table from the time we arrived. It was reported by various guests to staff and were told that a plumber was coming later. In the meantime guests had to put up with this vile smell whilst we ate our food until we left. Another guest told me that this is an ongoing problem with the toilet blocking regularly. If this Reception can't meet basic hygiene standards, it shouldn't operate.

I would highly recommend not staying here, save your money and go elsewhere. I don’t know where to start... The carpet was stained, the pillows were dirty and as flat as a pancake, The lounge had food crumbs all through it, the underside of the bedside table was covered in gum, the cups weren’t clean and the bathroom is a whole different story... The bathtub was dirty, the shower head was no better than a sprinkler and caused water to go everywhere else apart from in the actual shower. Left as soon as I could in the morning.

The room was deceiving than booking it online the room didn't look like any of them it was old and tired. There was no extra pillows, there was tape covering something on the carpet. It was a small room. There were stains, holes and marks on the walls, chairs that were there before me. You could smell cigarette smoke when leaving and while in your room. The room smelt stail. The only thing that looked newish was the bathroom.

Pro Definitely great for it's price. Have a great garden and a swimming pool Con We arrived a little later than the check in time. The clerk charged us our fee and $100 deposit before we even got there which is illegal. He did not give us out wifi password and we need to go ask the next day. Some of the rooms are bigger room with a wall in between. So the divider is really thin. We were woken up by the guy next door speaking very very loudly about his plan for the day with his wife.

We stayed there for 1 night. Room was ok I guess. Some cleaning wouldn't be bad though. Curtains were dirty, shower was filthy. The heater was heaps noisy and barely heated the room. They gave us 1 thin blanket each in winter. Beds were uncomfortable. There was holes in the wall. No bowls for breakfast. They were also onto us to check out. I doubt we would stay there again.

The two rooms that we got were $260 a night there were two rooms joind and it stunk like cat poo no matter what was sprayed it literally stunk bad when I complained about it they told us that they will kick us out with no refund for the money that was paying for the two nights or the security deposit either .the fringe festival was on, so there was literally nowhere else to stay so we had no choice it was not pleasant for a motel. I will never stay there again

Lovely concept lovely yard and rooms but there is a huge security issues as doors are not lockable from the inside except with a chain link bolt. We had a scary thing happen and had someone knocking on the door at 4am and then opened the door to come in only the chain link bolt being The only security all while we were asleep. Room is actually decent and no issues with cleanliness in any respect (an issue reported by other reviewers). Internet is however ridiculously slow, but still usable, laundry locked/inaccessible (reasonable launderette just down the road), location somewhat noisy due to being on Princes Hwy and no 'do not disturb' signs... something I have not seen in any other motels/hotels ever. Still better than the majority of motels and cheaper too.

Not a pleasant experience. Bathroom desperately needs renovation with cracked tiles and stained bath. The freezer in the fridge had no door and was choked with ice. The fridge itself was noisy and ran non-stop all night. The pillows were a joke - cheap and nasty. They were very thin and offered no support or comfort. Too much light outside the windows. Even with the curtains closed the room had too much light for sleeping.

It was a very pleasant venue, a classic wood-styled function room with nice floor to ceiling windows on one side of the room. The food was alright for buffet, they have buffet options outside of functions as well and their beers on tap are at a reasonable price. The only problem is that there is little parking around the area, so it's best to carpool with others. Good mocktails and the service was good.

Not a nice place. Room was terrible. Bed was terrible, would rather sleep on a hardwood floor. Only 1 pillow each and they were flat as pancakes, no extra blankets. Sliding door to balcony had no lock just a piece of wood to stop it from opening. Curtaind were falling apart. Bathroom exhaust fan was noisy as hell, bathroom wasnt very clean. Can hear everything through the door dividing the rooms.

Hardly rates a 1.... stayed 4 nights room was not serviced once during stay despite advertised fully serviced... had to ask for fresh towels which were just shoved in room, dirty towels not removed . Whilst room bosted a spa it was unusable, as no bath plug provided. Even when we asked for a plug they just went to first empty room and handed us plug from that room, which didn't fit....

Worst motel room ive ever stayed in. The bedside lamps were buzzing, the top was broken off one, 1 heater didnt work at all the other was extremely noisy. Carpets were filthy dirty. Mould in showers. The list goes on. Very dated and lacking maintenance. Still payed top dollar for our stay too..... Would not recommend this motel to anyone.

Staying in a top floor room and the 1st thing I noticed was the overwhelming stench of cigarette smoke. It's wafting up from the lower level balconies and coming in to the top floor rooms, even with the sliding door and windows closed. Absolutely disgusting. Other than that the rooms are OK, you get what you pay for.

Had a very poor stay. The bed was extremely uncomfortable as it was hard. The pillows were pancake thin. I used all 3 in the room and still didn't get enough support. They didn't clean the shower as it still had water in it from the last guest. I will not return.

Can be noisy as they have a venue hire for weddings onsite and it is next to the highway. There was a loud event on the night we stayed so if you are a light sleeper then you will struggle at this place. Also it was strange that the rooms had tea & coffee facilities but no milk in the fridge.

Sundown regency aka Walawwa is an awesome atmosphere to have a good function. Parking is a bit restricted as it has limited parking on premises but can park off street.

BEDBUGS. I can't believe i stayed here. The place is infested with bedbugs, so many we could see them on the sheets. Please clean the place
