At the time when I was browsing there were about five volunteers, all of them were middle aged women with the exception of one who was a young man (who was uninvolved). The women were engaged in a conversation all over the store about another female volunteer, and the nature of their conversation was very UNfavourable towards her. They all spoke at length about how they did not enjoy their interactions with her, how they found her difficult to work with, and that sales were always down whenever she was on shift. At this point, I wish to highlight that the women may have overlooked the fact that this trend may be alarming if she alone was running the store, but if the store is always run with as many volunteers as the day I was there, perhaps the cause of the low sales on those days are not entirely the fault of that one person. One worker out of four cannot be the main reason why sales are down on those days when four out of five workers have the ability to make up for low sales. Also, maybe the reason why this trend occurs is because they all dislike that one volunteer so much that they are unwilling to support her? Or it could be another reason of which I and they are unaware? I want to ask these ladies that it may be better for this volunteer - and mostly for them - if they treated the situation with a bit more compassion and empathy rather than just spitting poison. I don't know the full story, but if you are seeing a trend then act on it before it becomes an ongoing issue. Volunteers are sometimes difficult to come-by, isn't it in your best interest to help facilitate improvement by speaking to her directly and working together to improve sales performance rather than getting a troupe of you to speak badly of her? I can understand that it's easier to do the latter because they are venting, but what real good does it do when you allow the situation to carry on? Wouldn't you rather do the difficult thing and confront the situation for the overall good of the team? If you are courageous (or reckless) enough to speak ill about her in front of your customers, then you have the courage to speak to her to improve her work performance. In the same visit, one of the women disclosed a personal issue she was having which is something I also was unable to avoid hearing. Overall, I found it demotivating to shop there as they were not subtle in their complaints. I found the nature of their discourse discouraging and unprofessional. It did not reflect the good values of the Salvation Army. Moreover, basic customer service is lacking. I entered the store with no greeting or acknowledgement (probably because they were all too busy complaining about that woman), and when I asked whether I could try on some clothes one of the ladies briefly pointed to where they were: "They're there" (briskly waves hand). As a customer, I felt I was unappreciated and, frankly, a nuisance for being in the store. I am sure this does not happen all the time in this store because I have been here on a handful of occasions in the past and not been an audience to a daytime middle-aged ladies panel show. I would just like to inform those ladies that when they are talking about their colleague in the way they were that day, they are not speaking about it amongst themselves when they choose not to be subtle about it and that they have stakeholders who can hear what they're saying, i.e. you're not on the phone or at home, you're at work. They are also revealing much more about themselves and their character than they realise. Fully support the Salvation Army, but maybe go to a store where you're not 100% sure whether they'll speak badly about you when you leave.

Small but good quality selection of goods. They had a 50% off sale so I got 4 tops for $8.50. There is an EFTPoS machine and it says the purchase minimum is $10.00 but they didn't enforce it for me, possibly because the original price of my items would have been above that. Would recommend you check them out.
Nothing to see here. They call it Hidden treasure but they should call it Hidden garbage (there's nothing good)I went in the shop to have a look and was treated like a criminal eyes where on my left right and centre please …
