Can you spend the night at Le Méridien without staying there? Sure! The lobby presents plenty of opportunities to do just that. You can order lavender macaroons at the petite bistro and a side of café au lait to get rid of the smell of booze you just coincidentally acquired at the bar. The Longitude Bar’s lavished cocktails are a great temptation. No, the prices are not cheap, but the experience of the place makes them worthwhile. Try the Vieux Carre. Not a Shirley Temple. A concoction of rye whiskey and Benedictine that smells better than some, rather expensive perfumes, you have given an ex for Valentine’s in a failed attempt to get them back. A drink to be savored slowly unless your intentions are to end up dancing on tables by the end of the night. The “Not your Father’s Old Fashioned” is good, but actually might just be a left over from one of your father’s because, although quite nice, is not creatively fabulous. However, you can never go wrong with an Old Fashioned. If you are into girlie (I can foresee the avalanche of hate mail from feminist here, even when I am one myself) drinks or fruity drinks, you might enjoy the Bizou Bramble. A lovely cocktail of Flor de Caña rum, blackberry infused syrup and lemon. Personally, it would take me about ten of those to get my booze on, and by then, I most likely be washing dishes in the kitchen to pay for the bill… but if you don’t want to scare your first date, you might just order one because it is classy and unalcoholic like. Bizou Brasserie, the restaurant, redefines fabulous. I have taken pictures of the place and believe it haunted. The photos, even when unedited, always come out in sepia. Some trick of the lighting and the marble on the walls… pure magic. Bizou cooks the best duck in Tampa, in my very humble and gastronomically uneducated opinion. When I don’t ask for it, I harass someone else in the table to order it and then pout and annoy him or her into sharing it with me. The duck is pan seared and served with the celery root puree (but I always trade it for the cauliflower hash) and a citrus sauce. My favorite part are also the beluga lentils they garnish the plate with. More please. I have tasted the Pancetta Wrapped Monkfish and it was good. Not great because I learned to eat monkfish in Oviedo and the freshness and saltiness is completely different. The fish is quite savory nevertheless. If you choose to wander into the adventure of monkfish and you just don’t know what it looks like or you no longer remember… do yourself a favor and do not google pictures. Don’t be judgmental. Think of other unpleasantly looking things that are edible and enjoyable. As appetizers, Bizou serves an amazing beef tartare. They use filet mignon, capers, cornichons (baby pickles), artichokes and an alioli. The deviled eggs are also a treat. They are filled with crab meat and portioned to share. The escargots are cooked inside a puff pastry. A great way to try them if you have been afraid of ordering them otherwise. The building exudes elegance and refinement and the dishes and libations complement it. If it is a bit expensive to binge at, it is still a wonderful place to sit and sip coffee at. It is after all an old court house remodeled. One of the few times in which you can celebrate the feared: “you have officially been served.”
Downtown Tampa, Florida has much to offer in the way of food and beverages. You just have to know where to look and if you happen to find yourself walking past a court building, you might want to do a double take because Bizou Brasserie restaurant could very well be located inside. Bizou Brasserie is, in fact, part of the same building that houses the Le Meridien hotel and, yes, this was once a federal court building. The restaurant features a good deal of ambiance, comfortable seating, pillars, marble, and other features that produce and elegant look overall. However, if you’re concerned that this dining establishment might be on the snooty side, don’t worry- Bizou Brasserie isn’t like that. It is still casual enough that you will feel comfortable. Bizou Brasserie has six different menus: One for breakfast, lunch, dinner, desserts, Sunday brunch, and Bar & Small Plates. Many who visit here come for the bar and drinks, and it isn’t difficult to see why. They serve specialty drinks, plus local beer and a vast selection of wine. The wine is easily visible in the main dining room, and that is because there is a full wall of wine in racks. When I dined at Bizou Brasserie , it was for breakfast. I pondered over the menu for quite some time before finally choosing a ham and cheese omelet with potatoes, toast, orange juice, and coffee. I felt satisfied with the quality and found the amount of food just right. It was a great way to start my day and provide the fuel I needed before exploring the city. If you like coffee and want something delicious, I recommend indulging in one of the specialty coffees like the Salted Caramel Mocha Cappuccino and Peppermint Mocha Latte. They are certain to satisfy most any coffee lover who tries them. Bizou Brasserie service is quite good with a wait staff that is attentive and accommodating. My overall experience at Bizou Brasserie was positive overall and I recommend at least stopping by and sitting at the bar for a quick drink and one of the small plates if you happen to be in the Tampa area.
I love this place. I have the hotel it's in on my short list for an event venue and the food at the restaurant is pretty good. I've come for brunch in the past, had drinks and apps at the bar on a Friday night and the service is always good. I have a very specific bone to pick with them though...the foods sometimes trendy to a fault. Each time I've gone to brunch, everyone had questions about the menu. I love french toast, they had stuffed french toast. I like bacon, theirs is candied. I like tomatoes, they have tomato jam. It's almost comical- but honestly I do find something I enjoy everytime I go, but it's like those niche and trendy items are to justify the prices that accompany a restaurant being in a hotel in downtown. I like that they take risks with the menu and I always find something I enjoy eating. Each time I've gone, it hasn't been busy, but they act like it is. The last time I went, I ordered french toast and it was burnt. They still get 4 stars because I was with a group and everything else for everyone else came out good, but I was a little peeved because I ordered my food after everyone else had ordered so it wasn't part of a large order and the restaurant was clearing out from after brunch, so it didn't make sense why my food would come out burnt. It looked burnt, the first bite, I couldn't taste the char, but after I got through the first half slice all I tasted was burnt food. If this was my first visit, I would have given 3 stars. Burnt food should not make it to the table under any circumstances. Neil and Cody are both great servers and great sports for my group. Pro-tip: If you get your parking validated at the restaurant, it only costs $5 and they have umbrellas when it's raining.
Unveiling Culinary Delights - Bizou Brasserie at LeMeridien Courthouse Bizou Brasserie at LeMeridien Courthouse Tampa is a hidden gem worth discovering. Conveniently located in the hotel lobby, it offers delicious food and a variety of cocktails that are sure to please any palate. My wife and I had the pleasure of dining here multiple times during our stay, and each experience was exceptional. The friendly waitstaff provided top-notch service, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere that struck the perfect balance between casual and elegant. The diverse menu impressed us, featuring delectable dishes prepared with precision and flair. From the first bite to the last sip, every aspect of our dining experience was a delightful journey of flavors. The attention to detail in presentation and taste was commendable, adding to the overall enjoyment of our meals. One highlight was the cocktail selection; Bizou Brasserie's mixologists truly know their craft. The signature cocktails were imaginative and expertly crafted, making each sip a memorable delight. It's a great spot to unwind and enjoy some fantastic drinks. While there's much to praise, I'm giving it a 4-star rating, as there's always room for growth and perfection. Nonetheless, Bizou Brasserie at LeMeridien Courthouse is definitely a place I would recommend to anyone seeking a culinary experience that excites the taste buds and leaves a lasting impression. If you find yourself in Tampa, this is a must-visit destination for food enthusiasts and cocktail aficionados alike.

Spent mother's day here and it was a decent experience. It wasn't busy when we got there around 7:30pm on a Sunday. We were able to sit on a larger half booth in the back. The hostess forgot our menus so we waited until the waiter finally came up to get those for us. He had a bit of a sarcastic attitude for no reason, as we were being extremely nice and relaxed - it was mother's day! His attitude changed by the end of the night, so at least there was that. We did wish there was french food/wine to serve especially since the restaurant's name is in French, but I had some Sauvignon Blanc from California and it was decent. The atmosphere was nice and it was cool to have dined in an establishment that used to be a courthouse. They have a bar area up front and a café, as well. It is connected to a hotel, too. The shrimps were good. The chicken satay were a smaller portion than expected. The salads are good. The chicken was good, but the oil it was fried in did taste a bit fishy. The steak was good. Their fries are delicious especially with the sauce it comes with on the side. The burger was just like any American burger. The creme brulee was smaller than expected. Overall, we are glad to have experienced the restaurant and it's atmosphere. We took some nice photos at the end of the night!

Located in an old remolded federal courthouse this restaurant has much style and a nice trendy atmosphere with high ceilings and grand open spaces. It's in the La Meridian Hotel that recently opened (2014). Once climbing the high staircase you first enter the the bar area that has nice a large social area and good bar top seating. The restaurant is located toward the back. We came for lunch and were seated promptly. The lunch menu has an excellent variety of salads, hot sandwiches, flat-breads and appetizers. We started off with the calamari that was excellent! Cooked to perfection, very tender with amble coating. The portion was a bit on the small side and was barley enough for two any more people sharing and it would have been a morsel. For the main entree I ordered the Bizou Burger with a side salad. I ordered it medium and it came out more on the well side and a bit dry. Hard to grab the flavor profiles because it was a bit dry. Basically tasted like any other burger but very expensive at $17.00. That's a bit high for lunch. You have to consider where you are at though. My wife ordered the Salade Frisee with chicken ($19.00!!!). She siad it was good but at the cost and portion size it was not worth it at all. Really, a $20.00 dollar chicken salad.
Came for Sunday brunch with a group of 6. There was only 1 or 2 other groups of people in the restaurant. Our food took more than 50 mins to come out, and only after we asked for it. The server told us the food had taken so long because of the 1 other table that was being served (?). When the food came it was really disappointing. Some orders were wrong, some items were cold. Eventually we asked to speak with the manager, it even took us asking twice to actually get the manager to come to the table. The manager was nice when he came over to the table, although the server seemed totally oblivious to the fact that anything was wrong. The manager said he would provide a discount - after another 30 minutes the adjusted checks came. There was a $2 discount on our checks but a 20% service charge was still included (more than $3). We explained that we didn't want to pay the 20% service charge after the experience. They took the checks back to adjust them again but then another server had to come by to ask each of us what we had ordered. Eventually they took the service charge off and added a 20% discount. Overall - disaster from start to finish for what should have been a really simple meal. Definitely will not be back.
Pros: Beautiful exterior and interior, easy to find street parking, well plated food, decent portions. Cons: Everything else. The food was bland and unbalanced. My fiance got the lobster ravioli, which was decent, but very heavy on the spiciness. He also tried the Filthy Devil which came out muddy looking, and the Chili Bloody Mary, which was very heat forward with no taste. It was disappointing because he loves spicy food, but not just for the sake of it being hot. I got the Bumble Berry Sangria which is best described as tasting "pink". The Mezcal Matador just tasted like tequila. Service was sloppy and mixed up two of our orders (Irish coffee became coffee and herbed mashed potatoes became wild mushroom medley). Our server snatched a menu out of my hand to check what an item was called and talked with us at length about his family. We don't mind having some side conversation, but not for that long, and not about a server's personal life. tldr: This place looks great, but is not worth the price they're charging for bland food and mediocre, clumsy service. Tidy up the service, balance the menu with decent flavors and cocktails, or lower the prices to reflect what's going on.
Masters of Mediocrity. Great place if you are over 75 years old and can not have any pepper, salt or heaven forbid some spices. After eating there, it is obvious that this establishment solely draws its crowd from being located in Le Meridian in downtown Tampa. Come for the food, surely leave with disappointment. Same feeling I get when I visit a strip club for their Sunday breakfast. Eggs Benedict with spinach and mushrooms w/ side of potatoes, will take you down the wonderful road of blandness. The only sensation my tastes buds had was from Very Berry Mojito, and that was very very bitter. Service well below average. Ordered my drink and some guy who came in 10 minutes after me ordered the same drink and received his before me. COOL! I guess he maybe called it in?!???! Oh, and their outdoor seating shouldn't be even an option for reservations. It is literally 200 feet away from the restaurant and they do not offer table service. That is like me saying the bus stop on the corner is outdoor seating for McDonalds. Anyways see you never again and best wishes in colored beige world.
I'll start with what we were not pleased with. We made reservations for new years after looking over the menu to ensure they would have something to accommodate my dietary restrictions. The menu listed two items. However, when we arrived there was a special New Years menu which did not contain anything I could eat. Luckily the chef was able to make some accommodations and I could have three of the four courses. The food was delicious but I wouldn't say it was worth the nearly $400 we paid for two people. The salad was half a head of lettuce with caramelized onions and a dressing. The rice for the entrée was crunchy. My husband got the duck and the very small pieces were not flavorful at all. The alcohol selection was great though. I had a delicious mixed gin drink and a glass of the best champagne I have ever had at a restaurant. They were clearly short staffed but those working did a great job accommodating us and our waiter was fantastic. The band was incredible. Just keep in mind that when you come you aren't visiting for the food but rather the experience.
My sisters and I made reservations to Bizou this past Sunday in hopes of beginning our girls day with wonderful food and atmosphere. Unfortunately our visit did not start off so great. I will not go into detail because I’d prefer to instead spotlight the positive parts of our visit. In a nutshell, the hostess is not friendly and seemed extremely bothered to even sit us. We were a bit upset as we didn’t feel welcome and we even considered leaving…but then Ryan came to our table and turned our frowns upside down! He was a breathe of fresh air! Simply delightful. Ryan was incredibly attentive and he was so knowledgeable about the history of the building. His positive vibes were exactly what we needed to kick off our girls day. Mr Ryan Henninger is a shining gem for Bizou. We will definitely be back! Thank you Ryan and we hope upper management knows what an asset you are to the restaurant.

Really disappointing brunch experience. We decided to try Bizou for brunch to celebrate a friends birthday. Wife and I ordered some eggs Benedict and shrimp and grits to share. The second we got the shrimp and grits, I could just tell it was not going to be great. The shrimps were plain white, no seasoning, no buttery crisp, nothing great to say. Grits were good but what isn’t good with abundant cream? The crawfish seemed over cooked and the dish lacked flavor. The eggs Benedict were even worse. Both eggs were completely over cooked and no runny yolk whatsoever. The “Hollandaise” was incredibly flavorless and some people got lox some people got bacon (we don’t know why). The eggs Benedict were $19 and I promise you can find places where you can order real egg Benedicts for like $8.50. Service was really slow. We won’t be coming back. Not surprising it was pretty much just our party on a Saturday afternoon.

Decided to try this establishment. First impressions were impressive. The building was interesting being an old court house. The architecture was beautiful and well designed. We started with drinks that took almost 30 minutes to get to us. We had the cheese and charcuterie plate as an appetizer. The Genoa salami and chorizo were no better than you buy at a grocery store, same with the cheese. We had burgers which were actually outstanding! Good balance of meats and flavors and cooked perfectly. My wife and I opted for side salads as a sides. The lettuce greens were crisp and fresh but the salad dressings were both watered down and lacked any flavor. I had blue cheese and she had ranch. The desserts were good and the coffee was very tasty. For the money I would have expected better. Our waiter was adequate but did not make us feel special. I've had wait staff at the Waffle House who made me feel more important.
My girlfriend brought me here to kick off my birthday weekend and we had a fantastic time. We started with cocktails, which were smooth, mellow, and perfectly crafted. We continued with escargot and puff pastry. The snails were tender, flavorful, and so delicious. The sauce was garlicky and robust, and the puff pastry complemented everything perfectly. For dinner, we split pork with frites, and our server, Ryan, presented it to us on two different plates without us having to ask. The pork was well seasoned and moist, the fries, cooked in truffle oil, were crisp and delicious. It was served with a small salad on the side. I really liked the vinaigrette dressing. Then, after we mentioned it was my birthday, I received a free creme brulee cheesecake. The pricing is exactly what you'd expect for a high-end, classy restaurant. Not at all unreasonable! I plan to go again.
Make sure you're not in a hurry when you visit. We had a reservation and it wasn't crowded, but we were not seated for a few minutes. The food is incredible. They have a great drink selection. The room is kinda echoey. My cocktail was delicious. The service and atmosphere reminds me of Europe in that it's a laid- back pace, which is a good thing.

Kid-friendliness
There was a kid here, but this is a very grown-up restaurant. I recommend older children.
We had reservations for Mother's Day. Beautiful location. We had our reservation towards the end of their special brunch time. We did have to ask about getting our picture taken, because I had read that there would be a photographer there. Good thing, because she was gone when we left. Food was fabulous. My only complaint is that when we got there and ordered our drinks, I had told our waiter that I was between 2 cocktails. I chose 1, and told him, I'd switch it up to the other drink after I had the 1st. He never checked back on us. It also would have been nice to be offered a coffee while we had dessert. I loved all the food, and it was nice to dine in a beautiful place like this, and I loved how it wasn't crowded. They don't pack people in, and have them sit so close to others. Very enjoyable.
The atmosphere of this restaurant is really cool. It’s set in an old courthouse and I really liked the detail of the interior as well as its styling and ambiance. The food was lackluster for the most part. I had the beef and vegetable soup, which was edible, but a little too much on the salty / peppery side for me (overseasoned). I also had the peppered beef tenderloin skewers. They were hardly peppered and the sauces that came with them were mediocre at best. The chocolate torte desert was really good though. Maybe I got the wrong food. The company I was with enjoyed her flatbread and house Caesar salad though (which had fresh anchovies in it). I wouldn’t suggest this place for the food, but would for the atmosphere. Best of luck with the menu (maybe it’s hit or miss).
The only good thing about this place was the food. Our server was just ok, he was a bit slow. Now, the atmosphere was the worst. It was so loud that I could barely hear the person across from me. It was a very bad experience and because the management had no initiative to do anything about the loud and obnoxious shouting from the large party less than 25 feet from us I will not return. My entire party of 10 were just miserable because of the noise. It wasn't until we were about finished with our dinner did the management ask them to quiet down. Then I was told that the hotel guest on the other side of the wall from the party had complained. If you are going to host a large party for 100+ guest then you need to have a separate private room.
Just had brunch at the Bizou. The food was very bland and over priced. The location is very pretty but the staff was very overwhelmed with the few tables present. Items took a long time to arrive to the table and the coffee machine broke during our meal. The individual working the bar disappeared for 30 minutes while our table was attempting to order. We had a table of 7 with checks split across the party. We had informed the waitress about this and when the checks came a mandatory gratuity for the entire table was placed on only one of the checks. Lucky we worked it out between us but it would have been nice to know. Overall, we will not be returning.

This was an interesting place. Located downtown and in a remarkable building. I was wearing a jacket with open shirt but would have felt fine with a tie. The menu is pretty limited but unique. I tried the brazed boar with was cooked to perfection. Fall off the bone and very tender. Presentation was awesome. Overall it was an enjoyable night. I could give a ding for service which was a bit slow. But it was a relaxing night and wasn't in a hurry. Not sure if the menu changes or how often. The location also has a shocked bar, wine section and an ice cream section.

Sat at bar for late lunch. Prosecco was flat but bartender was happy to pour a new glass… except she poured it from the same bottle as before. Fish tacos (2) were average at best. Shishito peppers were good (because they are shishito peppers) but needed salt. Empanadas were recommended but bartender forgot to put them in with the tacos so we never got them. Soda was from a bottle. Bartender was very friendly and nice but the experience was just not what we would expect based on the location being in a lovely hotel.

Before you spend your money in vain, please read my review. This restaurant is the least genuine and soulless I've ever gone to. They converted what I thought was a post office into a restaurant. that makes perfect sense. a terrible rectangle that lacks genuineness. About the meal, I choose the "Due of Chicken." Carrots and chicken were served. Well, the restaurant was as terrible and insipid as the meal. There were three carrots and the chicken was just boiled without any seasoning. I had never before encountered carrots that were bitter. Please don't let the attractive building fool you.
My son (Sam) and I celebrated his 18th birthday here. The food far surpassed expectations! The management was also fantastic. The eclectic ambience of the old courthouse provided a casual experience in a building steeped in meaningful history. The only area of concern was the waiter. His city attitude took away from the overall experience. We all have bad days. We chose to assume that was one for him. I’m positive we will be back. Maybe we will get lucky and have the same waiter assist us. I bet he would knock it out of the park the second go around!
Bizou is a great place to host private events, company happy hours, small company parties, etc. Heather DiGiulio is the Banquet Events & Bizou Restaurant Supervisor and she is absolutely the best! She has helped me on numerous occasions with my company events. She is a pleasure to work with and always is very receptive with everything I need. If you are hosting a private event there please make sure you ask for her and of course my favorite bartender in Tampa, Diego!

Had the cedar plank salmon. It was pretty solid. Mahogany sauce was a bit odd with a sweet Tang. Overall the entrees are ok, but the sides are lackluster and not cooked properly. The asparagus was overdone. Scalloped potatoes were not as cheesey as claimed. The corn and sour cream potatoes were pretty good though. Unfortunately my brother ordered a filet and it was undercooked compared to his request. A little pricey for it's quality, but an interesting place. It should be noted this was for a Christmas meal. So that may factor in.
This was the restaurant to chose to eat at on Christmas Day. It was a buffet of crab and macaroni that was so dry and not a piece of crab. The mashed potatoes were cold and you had to asked them to replace them. Vegetables were Brussel sprouts with carrots and onions, meat was ham and filet mignon that was very dry. Desert and bread was uncovered and sitting out. Staff was not friendly or attenable. The cost $65.00! I would never had gone to a buffet during COVID 19, and, to make matters worse the food was an afterthought and bad!
This was a huge disappointment! We will never come back to this place ever again! The food was old, and they charged a flat fee of $50 per person plus fees, which came up to $60per person!! Crazy expensive for the quality of food that was served! The lady that was baking the omelettes looked like she didn’t even want to be there, through everything in a pan, touched the food with her “gloved” hands and did a sloppy job! They didn’t even have the courtesy to inform you the price beforehand! Awful service and food!! Don’t go there!
Decided on date night here but we were expecting a bit more from this spot. We had small plates: gnocchi and pork belly. The pork belly was delicious! As for the gnocchi, I wouldn’t order again. The old fashioned was great. Our waiter may have had a rough night so I believe this effected quality of service for our table. Despite what other reviews said, we did not have to wait at all with our reservation. I do agree that they are overpriced.

I wanted to love this place but it fell a little flat. It's a beautiful spot with a great bar area and plenty of seating for large parties. The menu is very limited with not much wiggle room, so I recommend reviewing before choosing this spot because there are no swap-outs. The food and service were average, not bad but nothing great either. I probably wouldn't come back, to be honest :/

I cannot say enough good things about this place! We found ourself without a venue for a rehearsal dinner 1 hour before it was supposed to start. The Chef and her team at this restaurant came to the rescue even though they had just finished up with another wedding. They were kind, beyond accommodating, and the food was fantastic! I highly recommend this place- a great place to gather, drink, and relax. Thank you again- you saved the day!

I got food poisoning there due to their bad higiene when preparing their food. Also their plates where not cheap. $14 for less than a half of white wine, $14 for a small old and spicy shrimp-less shrimp fondue, and $28 for a stale tiny piece of grouper served with weird sides. The $23 plate of calamari in Vodka sauce, had only few and tiny pieces of calamari. Basically, their menu does not contain any picture of the plates they sell, so it is difficult to appreciate what exactly one will be ordering beforehand.
I come here for Sunday breakfast with my boyfriend about 1-2x month, the coffee is delicious (not weak and thin like other places), the service is always pleasant, and the potatoes are cooked perfectly. I usually get the bagel and smoked salmon or the build your own omelet. I don’t understand what the 4 star rating is about, because the beautiful atmosphere and decor, great service and food is more 4.7 stars to me, and I’m picky. Sometimes they have fresh squeezed juice samples at the hostess desk, nice touch.
First time coming to the restaurant which it’s inside of the LeMeridan hotel which is also gorgeous. It’s full service at the bar my bartender was Rus ( Rus the Russian lol) he was a pleasure. So attentive and great server etiquette. I definitely will be his regular goin foward. My meal was none less than 10 star dining. Rus advised the chef was on Hell’s Kitchen. Listen she definitely got the necessary skills from Ramsey cause that Mole Short Rib was top tier. Thank you Rus for such great service
Came to try out this breakfast restaurant inside the Le Meredian hotel. It was surprisingly very good, the prices were on point and inexpensive unlike most hotel restaurants that are overpriced. Had the crab and avocado egg benedict that came with a side of fruit, also ordered the traditional ham and egg, potatoes breakfast dish. And top it off with some coffee, yummy ! The ambience of the restaurant reminds me of the old classic Italian restaurant with the dark mahogany colored furniture.
The good: atmosphere was very nice with a good vibe, especially around the bar area. Service was on point as well. The not so good: the food. The description on the menu sounded far better than the taste of everything we ordered. Food is on the bland side and did not have the homemade handmade taste as described. I really wanted this to be a fab experience. There are so many other awesome choices around the attention needs to be on creative quality awesomeness food.
I was a guest for a birthday celebration and I was underwhelmed. Although the waitstaff was very accommodating and the atmosphere was great, I was upset with the availability to accommodate vegetarians. The menu was set for a party over 10 so they were hesitant to change to menu to accommodate me. Once my food came it was not pleasant. I am not sure if my experience would have been the same if I would have dined by myself or with a smaller party.
We heard mixed things about the service here so we were a bit apprehensive but it was a wonderful experience. Our server was very attentive and didn't bother us during the course of our meal. The wontons were a great and large appetizer but I would suggest doing them for happy hour at the bar. I had monkfish and my fiance had the lobster ravioli. You could tell the chef cares about the presentation but the taste was also great. Highly recommend.
Horrible food and incredibly unprofessional service. The waiter had no idea I was a food critic and spoke to us in such a way that inspired to share my review, so that anyone reading this DOES NOT WASTE THEIR TIME HERE. It was dirty. The seating was torn and had patches of electrical tape. A simple NY strip was overcooked. My arugula wilted. Shameful place to eat.

Easter brunch. I thought this place would be great for Easter, I was wrong. It was a buffet for brunch because of the holiday which is usually ok at most places. The food tasted like it had been sitting out all day and the waitress confirmed that it was. The bread was stale the eggs were hard as a rock and some bins were completely empty. I’ve had bad food before but, for $50 per person plus a mandatory 20% tip on self serve is ridiculous!!
If you love bland food and horrible service, go here! Do you love cold hollandaise all over your still frozen english muffin in the morning? If yes, then come here!Lets not forget the honorable mention of the managers who couldn't even handle my problem. Crystal, Justin, and Amber (lady with horrible twitch) are completely clueless. This has to be the worse restaurant in all of Tampa. Do yourself a favor and take your business elsewhere.
This was my first - and likely last- attempt at Bizou Brasserie. Since the reviews have been so positive, we decided to choose it for our annual Easter brunch. We arrived at 10:55 for the brunch that "begins at 11," and they were not set up. At around 11:15 they set the omelette station and carving stations up. The ladies restroom was trashed. It is clear that they were unprepared for this brunch and for the reservations they had today.
Ok most hotel bars are blahzey at best… this one was..different! In a really good way. Climbing the stairs from the lobby you could first feel the energy change, then smell the food, then hear the atmosphere, and by the time you reach the 2nd floor you know you’ve arrived at a unique and cool spot! Custom drinks, chill atmosphere, and it just kinda hits different. Downtown has some secret gems and this is definitely one of them!
Food was good, though a teensy bit bland. The service was absolutely fantastic. We had a large party and the staff could not have been more accomodating.

They were technically still on their breakfast menu, but accomodated our littles' requests for chicken tenders and fries.
The atmosphere is excellent! One star The service was EXCELLENT! 2ND star The food was flavorless....my steak with chimcurri sauce...I love chimcurri but this was so bitter! It tasted like it was made from spinach and didn't have garlic at all. The best part of my meal was the warm crusty bread and butter. I've eaten here before and it was very good but a year makes a difference. Unfortunately I will not return to try it again.
Great new restaurant replacing Bizou Brasserie in the old courthouse. The word hasn’t spread about this gem yet but it definitely will! A good combination of Latin-inspired menu items, there’s something for everyone. If you’re going for breakfast or brunch, ask for Melissa, she’s the best server.

Great place! We stayed at the hotel and basically came to Sal Rosa everyday. Food and drinks are great. All juices are freshly squeezed. Our bartenders Brett and Sarah were the best too!

We went there last February. This must be by far one of the most horrible meals I had in my life. It was a series of terrible ingredients choices and combinations plus a poor execution. Horrible. It is very unfortunate because the place is beautiful, although SUPER expensive. Terrible, terrible.

This is a restaurant in the Meridian hotel in downtown Tampa. We went on a Sunday evening and as expected, the restaurant was not busy. The service was good but would have preferred not to smell the smoke from the server's smoke breaks. The food was delicious but a bit high of a price point.

Great drinks, great atmosphere, and prime location in the heart of downtown Tampa. Gourmet menu provided great selections with flavors to satiate most palates. Our server Larry needed some help though. Staff shortages notwithstanding, the waitstaff did as well as they could. 4 out of 5 stars for me. Would've been 5 of 5 were it not for staffing.

Went for Sunday brunch, waited 10 minutes to even get acknowledged at the hostess stand- also keep in mind there was no one else waiting with me and there were plenty of open tables- on a positive note the bar made me a Bloody Mary while I waited. After being seated it took 20 minutes for our server to greet us. The food was average, nothing amazing which would offset the poor service time. Will not be back.
Drinks were decent, but the food was shockingly bland and, given that, overpriced. Service was friendly but confused and slow. I really get the impression that the sole purpose of this restaurant is to serve as a meeting place for Tampa businessmen who aren't going to pay that much attention to the food and can afford to pay.

Nice place for an up-scale drink. We stopped in for a night cap the other night and got there just as they were doing last call. The bartenders were friendly and didn't seem annoyed that they had to wait for us to finish. Good drinks, a little on the pricey side, but fun for one or two if you're out for a special occasion. Previously, I've picked up pastries from the case to go and they were excellent.
I hosted a bridal shower at the restaurant because the bride-to-be is obsessed with Paris. It couldn't have been a more perfect place. Chill atmosphere, beautiful building, wonderful staff (Heather and Steven was awesome), delicious food (highly recommend the Boursin Stuffed Chicken Breast), and great drinks (had the Moscow Mule and a Mojito). My expectations were exceeded and I cannot wait to go back.
We were attending a show at the Straz and needed to book somewhere to eat. Tried the in-house restaurant at the Straz but unbelievably, on a Friday night , they were not open. So we ended up at Bizou (French for “kiss”). I’m really glad we did. Great service from a pleasant young waiter called Joey, nice atmosphere, and absolutely outstanding food. This is now our go-to restaurant when in Tampa.
I like the place; the decore is fancy and old school. The menu items was a little pricier than a grab and go restaurant but it is reasonable for this setting. I had the hog burger with cold slaw in it. It was good. The fries was great. My only complaint was how slow the service was (the restaurant was not very full) and the indecision of the waiters about handling the burger special.
Loved the look of the place and the ambiance. Unfortunately, the service was extremely slow. Waited almost 50 minutes for our dinner and almost 15 minutes for our cocktails. Order was calculated incorrectly which slowed us down yet again. Server was non apologetic even after the manager stepped in to assist. If we do return it will only be to enjoy the live music at the bar.
My family just had an amazing experience with Bizou Brasserie. We hosted my wife's birthday and the event planner, Heather DiGiulio, went above and beyond. They customized the menu, set up private space for us, and made sure all our requests were met with a smile. The space is so unique and breathtaking. The food was amazing. Thank you for making a memorable moment for us.
The food here is 'Ok', not great. The craft cocktails were missing taste on many levels. Service was ok but not spectacular as well. We felt the mashes potatoes were from a box rather than made from actual potatoes. The prices were high compared to the quality of the food in my opinion. Although the prices would have been fine if the quality was where it was expected.
Why isn't this place busier? Hidden gem for sure! When I couldn't get reservations for brunch, I found Bizou and am so happy I did. Great food, magnificent architecture and decor, and very good service (our server was super-efficient and would have 5 stars if her level of "elegance" matched the level of the restaurant and food). Bizou is on my new fav list for sure!
I second Ms. Rosario’s review. I dined there today to celebrate my birthday with my family and expectations fell short. Menu is limited and product is overpriced. Judging by the pictures the place briefs well, but is not what we expected. We will not be visiting again.

I absolutely LOVE staying at thw Meridien, but part of that love equation is the awesome bar/restaurant-The Bizou. We always eat here and enjoy a cocktail or nine, but the current staff @bar and in restaurant are just great people. They are GENUINELY NICE and take care of guests. Aside from customer service, the food and drink quality is superb.
More unique than your average bar and grill. A little pricey but the decor, ambiance and beautiful company made it worth every penny. Dessert was absolutely delicious too!

This was a very cool sexy place. Loved the atmosphere. I can’t imagine why it was so empty on a Friday night, though we were there on the earlier side. The food was good, though small portions and the service was on par. A lovely place if you are looking for something different.

This place was okay. They are open on Sunday but it's beat to call ahead of time because no one was in the restaurant except my party. The waiter was friendly enough. The charcuterie board left a lot to be desired and the stuffed chicken I had was just okay. My friend had the steak and that was really flavorful. It was just eh.
Went for a ladies brunch. Love the decor and how the build out of the old court house looked. The food was very tasty, but for the number of people in our party there should have definitely been more than one server and one food runner taking care of us gals. They did the best they could with a smile on their face though.
We went to the Mother's Day brunch and it was fabulous and more than we expected. They had an omelet station, a salad bar, a hot food table with vegetables, baked chicken, salmon, and then a carving station with prime rib, stuffed pork loin with spinach and Asiago cheese and also a dessert table. Everything was fabulous!
Bizou is home to the best martini in Downtown Tampa. So what makes their martinis so amazing? Their blue cheese olives are stuffed with the most perfect blue cheese ever. The blue cheese is just salty enough combined with a super creamy base. The olives are also stuffed by hand by the always attentive bartenders.
The staff and the ambiance was fantastic. Our waiter let us linger at our table way longer than he had to and it was much appreciated. The meal was well prepared, although I was slightly disappointed the online write up mentioned French cuisine and the menu was entirely American. I would come back here again

The atmosphere feels like you've been teleported to some sophisticated English establishment. The food is well proportioned, tasty and well-priced given the quality of the restaurant. I personally like the express lunch (1/2 flatbread and 1/2 salad for $12 ... but don't buy iced tea ... $4 a piece)
Easter Sunday Brunch was awesome. Family and couples were not disappointed. The crazy part, I ran into a close friend from my hometown who was at Sacred Heart right before unknown to me and then saw him in line on the brunch. I probably added 5 lbs that day. The food and desserts were exceptional.
Cool place for date night and for some good French cuisine. I went on Thanksgiving evening and the service wasn't great but that may have been due to the holiday. Food was good but the turkey dressing had to much rosemary which wasn't great

Very tasty and great atmosphere. Have only been for breakfast but everyone’s dish at the table (5 people in total) seemed to really enjoy what they chose. Service was slow but we are also still experiencing effects from COVID and businesses having a hard time finding/keeping staff.

Went for happy hour. Not the best place for happy hour, in my opinion. The food was great! I had mahogany glazed salmon. The bartender not so much. He was extremely attentive to all the guest, except our party of 3. We didn't feel very welcomed. I will not be going back

The restaurant is currently undergoing renovations, so we didn’t experience the dining room itself, but they had seating in the main part of the hotel. The service was friendly, but a bit slow. I enjoyed the steak panini flavor very much,
Great place! The waitress was excellent! Only problem was my steak, I asked for well done it arrived medium rare , I sent it back and it was still not well done, I ended up eating around the rare parts because at that point I was starving.
It was lovely as having a live band there to entertain us (for the wedding party) made it lovely. The food is really good. Just wish I could've had sauteed onions for the steak.

Decor and general feel was great, our server was attentive and drinks kept flowing. I had the Filet and it was not good, the table had a few apps which they all seemed to enjoy but overall for the price I would not recommend.
Was there last Saturday. Waiter was a hoot! We had a great time with him. I had the Yellow-tail, it was incredible. Best I've had since years ago in the Keys. Will be bringing out of state family there in a couple weeks.
Atmosphere was nice. Had to almost beg for coffee. First cup never came until meal was served and then had to ask for more. Omelet was dry and toast was cold. On the upside, my wife's eggs and son's pancakes were good.
Seated us at 9:45 and gave us fantastic food at a last minute. I had the Hog Burger and boy was it tasty! The service was great and kept my drinks coming. Place was super comfy and atmospheric. Would highly recommend!
Appetizers & entrées are delicious. The music, while good was very loud and prevented good conversation. Service was good and our server wasn't in our face and didn't rush us. God for dinner or to meet up for drinks.
The service for a restaurant of this tier was poor. On every occasion we visited, a number of items were completely forgotten. From not bringing out an app we ordered to bringing out the wrong sides with the entrees.
Omg the food & drinks were already amazing but Russ?! He is the reason I am now a FOREVER customer! I legitimately LOVE HIM ♥️

Had a wonderful brunch at the Bizou. Its built in the old Tampa Courthouse and the food was fabulous. Only complaint is that the service was a bit slow but so many places are short-handed these days. Try it!
Food was excellent!!!! Service was excellent!!!! Dining was at a relaxed pace and our service Team was very attentive to the needs of the table. Was not our first time and most definitely not our last.
Great happy hour at the bar. $4 beers, $5 Wells $6 wines. Small but interesting selection of small plates. Zucchini strips were great! Also liked the chicken meatballs and steak kabobs. Great service.
