This must have been the best sushi experience I’ve had in Montreal. We got the omakase experience and it was really interesting to see the Chef prepare and explain all the different sushi and how they were prepared in an interactive manner. All the fish and seafood were extremely fresh and they have certain cuts that aren’t easily found in other generic sushi places in Montreal. Some people complain that the service is slow, but that’s because the Chef works alone to assemble each sushi fresh made to order, so you get the best quality, that is worth the wait. I’ve also got sushi delivered via Uber Eats from this place and they always came freshly prepared and delicious. Overall it’s a great place with a nice atmosphere and very good service. It is a bit on the costly side, but the quality of the food is worth it.

My fiancé and I went to Saiko for my birthday dinner. We ordered the 5 course omakase menu. We had to wait for a bit as the chef was busy, which I understand. We started off with the appetizers: scallop dish and fish carpaccio. Was AMAZING. And moved on with the main, the sushi. We had king salmon, marinated salmon, tuna, toro, ebi, ika/uni … and more. Each of them was delicious and melting in your mouth. And then we had the desserts, roll cakes and green tea cheesecake. They sang happy birthday to me haha it was very nice of them. All the staff were very friendly and the chef was sweet and fun. Will come again ! Thank you ❤️

The experience was great. Awesome cocktails (special mention for the lychee martini) and very VERY fresh fish. We had tempuras, seafood miso soup, a variety of rolls. Everything was great. The staff was extremely nice, and when asked how we liked our meal, the waiter went back and repeated it to the chef, which made us feel heard (we said that it was very good) and showed how great the team work is in the restaurant. Thank you for the night we had, it is especially a difficult night for us as it was our last date night before flying back to our own countries (we are a US-French couple), so it meant the world to us.

Tried this restaurant during the MTL à table event. Everything exceeded our expectations. All the food was excellent, special mention to the miso black cod, the chirashi and the matcha cheesecake. Actually I’m still dreaming of that rich-flavored black cod perfectly paired with pickles and eggplant Ambiance was nice, music was pleasant without being too loud, and conversations could be easily carried despite the packed restaurant. On a side note, although their online reservation system showed that they were full way ahead of time, I could easily reserve on the phone with them.

We received a bottle of sake on the house and a little cake as it was my mother's birthday. Quite a nice place. I'd love to come back for their omakase option. A little disappointed in the chef's choice platter, as I've seen people receive plates with higher quality nigiris. I ordered a cocktail that was quite nice. It wasn't very strong, which is what I like, but that may not be the same for others. A staff member spilled a sauce, but was quick to clean up at least.

Came here with a group of 16. The service was slow and took long time for food to come out. Even with people that order last some how got theirs before people that made their order first. Overall the miso soup was probably the best, then the maki rolls, but I found a lot of the sashimi was fishy. Ended getting the miso soup, beaver hall, and the sashimi lover.

First time in Montreal and a local brought me here. The best sushi I have eaten with sincere and amazing chefs. An experience I will never forget and want to return. I ordered the chef special and each piece melted in my mouth.

Lovely ambience. We went for dinner with our 1yr old daughter, and the staff was super kind and gracious all around. We ordered the Chirashi and beaver hall roll with a bottle of sake and yuzu cheesecake to share. Fish was very fresh and sake complemented nicely with everything. Highly recommend this neighborhood bistro! More
Great tasting food. We got the miso soup, seaweed salad, sashimi platter and spider roll. The sashimi was fresh and tender. The yellowtail tuna, in particular, was superb! The softshell crab in the spider roll was fried perfectly! Overall, a satisfying experience if a little bit on the pricier side. More
I’m very happy to be here thanks for friend thanks chef

Oh hi! Oh! This place is very authentic, took a omakase with friends and wife it was super good! High recommend, everything is fresh. Sadly the Japanese alcoholic drink is a very little selection, due to the saq inventory. The fishes are amazing, don’t miss out
I wish I can give more than 5 star for this one. Went there for the Omakase, it’s as fabulous as u can possibly imagine. Love everything about this place from chef to service to food. $70/10 piece is very very worth. Give it a try you’ll love it. More
Sushi was not very good. The maki were small and not really tasty. It’s pricey for what it is. Got to admit that the waiter was a nice guy. He continued to pour us water even after we paid the bill but decides to stay to talk a little more.
This place is above Jun I in my books, which puts it in the upper echelons of sushi restaurants in Montreal. Whereas Jun I stumbles mightily with their specialty makis, Saiko Bistrot has no such issues. Everything we ordered was delicious
Came on a Thursday night with 14 people. The service was very slow we waited an hour and a half for our food. I can understand that we were a bigger table but by the end of the day it was just us another table of 4 and the omakase people
The staff were friendly. However, the food took forever when the restaurant wasn't even that filled. All sushi that had deep fried items in them tasted greasy and cheap. The washrooms had pubic hair and pee all over the toilet seat. More
Exploding flavors, amazing presentation, fresh products despite the pandemic, huge varieties, prompt and courteous service... Best sushi in the heart of Montreal!
The sushi was really good and the servers were very helpful. I would recommend it if you're fine with waiting a bit for the food to come. More
