Waste of money and time and health , It was really not worth to even try this place. Don’t even try this place Worst service ever I have seen. No one will be there for u to even ask anything. We literally had to shout for 5 mins even for us to be checked. The ppl were chitchatting in the kitchen and the food runner was not even available. We had ordered a few items and only one was okok. Remaining all items was at its worst. Sambar Vada was given with sambar separelty and Vada separately. Please rename the item in menu. Vada was so much pluffy with so much baking soda and salt. Golden fry pomfret at its worst with so much oil and uncooked with all raw masalas Chicken fry Vepudu was another disaster with old meat in it. Masala Vada was so thin and it was like so crispy. Chutney at its worst taste ever possible. How can a restaurant ppl not even know how to prepare a chutney. Let it be tomato or coconut It’s the easiest in the world which anyone can prepare. Mysore potato b onda was ok but the sad part is the masala used is the masala for dosa and poori. In masala bonda the potato should be felt and not smashed. Pathetic experience and overall if there is negative score I would give that. Don’t visit this restaurant unless u want to waste ur money, time and health. After ordering all the starters and tasting it. Then we had to go to another place for dinner. It’s was so pathetic.

I’ve always been a fan of dive-y places, especially for Indian food. As most will agree - Indian food is (mostly) all about the flavours and the confluence of different tastes, and less about the ambience of the place you’re sitting down to eat at. This restaurant fits the bill, and then some. I should point out that though, that I don’t mean this is a hole-in-the-wall. It’s comfortable, cozy but not schnazzy. That’s the way, in the golden words of the sunshine band, I like it. They took their time in preparing the order, as opposed to a lot of places out there that just dunk the ingredients in a pre-made sauce. The goat chettinad tasted like goat, the parathas were made from scratch, and overall, it tasted authentic. The lassi was amazing too. The Chicken 65 took me back. It’s funny what food can do. Twenty years later, there I was walking the streets of Bangalore in an instant. Service was excellent - the attending person was cordial, accommodating, and aware. And he did everything with a smile, and more. Calgary, I realize this is not a fancy downtown or Kensington location, but if good food matters to you - you have to check this one out.

Combination of Extremely Poor Customer Service and Bad Food Quality. Customer service is very poor. I seated for 15 min, and no one even takes care for providing to me menu & water. Then I asked him to provide a menu to me. While he is taking my order, he was called by another table for bring coffee. He avoided me and suddenly went there to take his order. Then he went to the kitchen and did not show up for 5 min. I waited for about 20 min to just place my order. I've never had such a bad experience. I ordered Thali, the veg curry and sambhar seems, frozen and warm it before serving. I was not expected to get defrosted sambhar. While placing my order, I request to get a naan instead of mini masala dosa in Thali, He agreed to that. After getting my order on the table, I found Dosa instead of Naan. I have attached photo of my Thali. I asked him regarding this and he said sorry I forgot to mention the chef and he cooked Dosa. Food quality seems not fresh. I don't recommend this restaurant to anyone. There are many other options in the city for traditional South Indian Food.

I don’t typically write reviews but this was definitely worth it. I tried Supreme Dosa for the first time yesterday and the entire experience was wonderful. It was the best Dosa I’ve ever had and the meal was extremely fresh with delicious spices. I cannot remember the exact dish as I just asked what they recommend but wow were they right. The lentil soup was so good. The restaurant was super clean, and the staff was great. 100% going to be regular and would highly recommend to anyone looking for authentic Indian Cuisine. As someone who is allergic to gluten they had so many options that all look amazing.

Lovely little restaurant serving the most delicious crisp dosa at a reasonable price accompanied with some snacks and main course dishes. Service is really friendly and attentive and the room is filled with bird song and lots of interesting things to talk about! The window wrap really detracts from what the restaurant holds inside. Go in and eat there I don't think you'll be disappointed!

I just had my second dinner here last night. We ordered pondichery fish fry, hour chicken 65,madurai malli mutton chukka, mutton biriyani, garlic naan & chicken Tikka. Out of these just fish was edible.chicken pakora was served labeled as chicken 65. Mutton gravy served as mutton chukka.Chicken Tikka was worst and garlic naan was the worst. This place is failing on flavor and taste. Spoiled our dinner on best possible way. Calgary has better place for south Indian food.I won't recommend this for anyone. And, there was about 6 people on total including three of us were there on a Friday night. The waiting time for us to have this crappie food was around 40 min. Stay away from here!

This is the most authentic south Indian food I’ve ever had in Calgary. My husband and I walked in randomly for a filter coffee craving, but ended ip ordering dinner as well. BEST masala dosa, BEST grilled pomfret and BEST Athu Kaal Soup. The chef/ owner is from Taj Bangalore, its no surprise that the food was so tasty. We will come back to try the Avial and other things on their menu.

Service at this place is awesome. Krishna and Ashwin are the best cook & server. We walked in just 30mins before closing but still we were served the best. Food was great too as commented by my (Indian origin) in-laws food tasted like back home. Note for the owner: We really wish & ensure our tip of 18% goes to Krishna and Ashwin for their quality service.

Finally, All food lovers in Calgary get to try Authentic South Indian style Ambur Biriyani and many more Authentic South Indian style dishes, at Supreme Dosa located conveniently at 1919, 13st Street, South east Calgary. Owner and the Head Chef, Mr. Mani a pleasant friendly personality. The food he serves consists of exquisite Aroma, amazing Presentation and real authentic taste. He him-self puts his Heart and soul in cooking. The Service was excellent. The Food quality, quantity and the consistency of the menu he offers is amazing. Definitely, it’s a place worth trying.

First time going to this location. First of all, why so many fake flowers and birds? I understand that most Indian places don't have the best ambience, and you go there for the food. But I just don't understand why go out of the way to make it look tacky? Just keep it simple. Secondly, the food was just OK, the idili was nice and soft everything else was just average. The service was bit slower than other places but not a deal breaker. It's hard for me to justify going back there. Maybe others will have better luck.

I had the combo 2 which comes with masala dosa, 2 idilis and a wada. The dosa was ok and the masala filling was not good at all. The idilis were fresh and the wada was just fine all served with a hot samabar just a little, cold coconut chutney and another tomato chutney I think which I did not try at all. Overall was not a great experience.

Found this South Indian restaurant on Google and decided to give it a try. It’s hard to find good dosa around and this is the place for it! We ordered a few dishes to give everything a try, and all I can say is what an amazing job the chef did. Everything is fresh and tasty. The chicken biryani is also served in traditional clay pot which is hard to come by these days! The chef/owner came out to ask how our food was, and that’s when we learned that everything’s done in house with no preservatives. We will definitely come back to try more dishes!

  • pallavi kriplani

Went in for dine in and unfortunately we were a min late so they offered us take out. we ordered fish chilli, chicken chettinadu, and some paratha and roti. when we got the order the fish chilli was missing, server said we never ordered it.when we got home we found the rotis were burnt and the chicken was no where like a chettinadu more like chicken submerged in thick sambhar. Dont know if we will be back ! Disappointed with the food.

This is the best South indian restaurant in Calgary. I cannot contemplate the amazing taste of all the dishes I have tried. The masala tea was aromatic with the cardamom scent. The medu vada was crispy from the outside and soft from the inside. The Dosa was paper thin and amazing flavors. I tried the Nilgiri dosa and Mysore Masala Dosa. I was not a fan of the Kulipaniyam, it has a burnt flavor to it and also not the best paniyaram I have had. At last, it is pocket friendly and worth your money. One of the best restaurants in Calgary indeed.

  • Shreyasi Chauhan

We showed up at 9:40 to have to curry but they said they only have biryani and dosa left for the day. The places closes at 11, so we didn’t show up last moment. They food showed up and was probably the blandest most sad looking food I’ve ever had. Place stinks of something as well. Needs some deep cleaning. Hopefully they’re better other days and I just got unlucky.

I don't suggest anyone to try specially dosa there. Ordered 2 dosa both was very thin like paper dosa and only 2 spoon potato masala in it. Plus, mendu vada has so much salt and baking soda. There coconut and tomoto chutney serving size like ketchup containers. There menu is hand written. As per they charge this place is waste of money.

I am not a professional by any means when it comes to Southern Indian cuisine but it tasted pretty darn good to me. We were pretty full after our consumption. Was always curious about this place but the exterior did not have alot of curb appeal however when you walk in its a very cozy, cute and comfortable (CCC) place. The food was amazing but the mutton Biryani could use a little more meat vs bone. I'd go out of the way to drop in this hidden gem in da hood

Guys want to enjoy real south Indian with real spice and flavour, honestly telling is SUPREME DOSA IS BEST EVER IN CANADA. ESPECIALLY DOSAS AND BIRYANIES. MUST TO TRY ONE TIME THEN YOU NEVER CHANGE RHIS5 PLACE, AMBIANCE IS SO NICE YOU WILL FEEL LIKE SITTING THE FOREST AND HAVING FOOD WITH REAL SOUND EFFECTS ETC.

I am a biriyani lover . On my vacation to Calgary I placed an online order at SI foods for chicken biriyani. The best taste just like home. The portion had 2 big drumsticks / leg peice and an egg for a very reasonable price. I could eat it for 2 meals . I ended up buying 2 days in a row while I was there.

The place is almost always empty when we go and it works in our favour as the food is served early. Love the dosa and idly here. Authentic taste and quick service. They can definitely work on making the place more airy for people coming from outside and it feels suffocating in the beginning.

Authentic, Delicious and a taste of home. The chef is super nice and the food is cooked to order and to desired taste. Will absolutely recommend this to anyone wanting to try real South Indian food, and take a break from the usual Butter Chicken hot spots around town.
