I transfered my dog to Rutherford after moving downtown and wanting a practice close to my new home. I brought my dog for his annual and had his bloodwork done. The appointment started fairly late - no big deal, it's typcially the same with humans. He also had a small procedure done while he was in the office for a bump he had on his arm and I didn't feel like the office was forthcoming with the price of the topical ointment they have him for it to follow up. The vet said she would call to check in on how the medicine was working, but never did. The medicine didn't work - I paid $50 for nothing. I am/was disappointed, becasue the vet also never called with his bloodwork results despite me emailing and calling their office on multiple occassions. To this day, I'm still not sure if I should be concerned about the results or if there is anything to lookout for. Also, when I tried to get him his flea/tick medicine, they had failed to weigh him during his visit. Again, perhaps a one off, but very concerning considering that should be a standard part of the physical exam. I understand based on their outside signs and some emails, that they are having staffing difficulties, however, I feel that calling customers to report on bloodwork for pets should still be prioritized, especially if you have paid for the testing. I will say my dog was confortable with the vet tech, and she went out of her way to comfort him during his visit and his small procedure. However, I'm highly considering finding a new vet practice for my pet due to the lack of customer service.

I called Rutherford in a panic this week when I could not get ahold of our primary vet. My Rottweiler was at the end of her life and I realized it was “time” that day. I called Rutherford out of the blue and they were able to see us within the hour. My husband and I walked in the office, having never set foot in there before but we were treated like long-time clients. The team had never met us before but we were greeted warmly and received such compassion from everyone we interacted with. Dr. Oakland saw us and gave us the assessment I needed to hear as we made the decision to euthanize our precious girl. She was so caring and patient with us throughout the process and gave me a parting hug. We were so impressed we plan to transfer our other pet to this clinic. I adopted a dog recently and he is very skiddish and nervous because he was not exposed to very much in his previous home. The entire staff at Rutherford veterinary Hospital went out of their way to make him feel as comfortable and secure as possible. The service was absolutely amazing from the tech that assisted us when we first walked in to the time that we left. The Doctor was knowledgeable, great with my dog, and took time to answer all of my million and one questions. They even called the next day to check on Major and sent a welcome card in the mail. FANTASTIC experience, I was so nervous he would have a negative experience for his first vet trip, but it was literally a cake walk thanks to the staff and doctor here! Can’t recommend them enough. Major loved his adaptil bandana and didn’t want to take it off when we got home :)

Been coming to Rutherford for 3 years now with my two dogs and absolutely love Dr. Young. She has been the most considerate, loving, and kind vet that we have ever experienced. She has spent so much time helping us to figure out the right medicine for one of our very anxious dogs, when many other vets didn't take us seriously. Now our dog is so happy and has a new lease on life. The fees have all been very reasonable as well when compared to stories from family and friends who pay twice as much just for the standard office visit at other vets. The level of service and care is outstanding at Rutherford.

My pup Peanut Butter loves going to the vet because of their awesome day care haha! All the members of the team are so friendly and caring, I know my dog is in good hands! He gets so excited the moment we pull up to the office, and I love getting to watch him through their camera and receiving the (very) Instagram worthy photos of him from day care. We’ve also been under the care of Dr. Rowan and Dr. Oakland, and they were very detailed in explaining instructions and information regarding Butter’s needs and I appreciated that!

The ladies at the front desk were amazing. Very helpful and polite! Dr Oakland listened to my concerns about my cat Valentine. She was receptive and explained everything in detail without feeling rushed. You can tell she genuinely cares about animals. The Reception/examination rooms were spotless and everything looked very tidy and organized. Excellent Service but most importantly Excellent communication which is what I value in a Vet's office. Also they are open 7 days a week! Very convenient. I highly recommend!

Finding a new vet when you move can be a toss-up. I was very glad as me and my furry family member had a great experience. Our Vet (Dr Oakland) was super patient with my anxious pup, called for follow-up, and prices were in-line with our previous vet. I appreciate the COVID measures they have in place too. But it's the overall experience for my dog that made me so pleased. Not rushed, patient, understanding, and thorough.

Dr Rowan was extremely thorough and caring in diagnosing my dog with sudden onset blindness. She did the labs which were needed . She went above and beyond by calling the ophthalmologist to get my precious dog in ASAP.. my appointment was scheduled very quickly thanks to Dr Rowan. She knew how upset I was over the situation and was informative and compassionate. I highly recommend this practice and Dr Rowan.

We LOVE Dr. Oakland. She's great with our senior dog who has Cushings disease among other ailments. He loves her, and is not nervous at all going to visit Dr. Oakland, unlike visits to prior vets. She has sound recommendations and genuinely cares about our little guy. We also really like the staff. They are all super friendly, helpful, and kind. I highly recommend Dr. Oakland and Rutherford Veterinary!

Great Vet. I love it here. They take great care of my dogs. I have one very old dog and they explained my dogs issues very well so that it's easy to understand and told me plans on how to beat treat her. They are also taking great measures to ensure social distancing like having us wait in our car and they come to retrieve our dog and then also ask us questions and explain things to us over the phone.

I would need a forum to explain how great this place is. The staff is very friendly. The experience overall is fantastic. No one will treat your pet better and at an affordable price. They have helped us more than I can say and even call us regularly to check up on our dog. The Dr. truly cares about the animals she sees and it shows. Much love for The Rutherford! Keep it up! I take my cat Luke to this clinic because I trust the doctors and after every lab or test they contact me immediately to let me know the results. They are very much available as possible. As housesitters, we never experienced having to take a pet to the vet but Maxine health was declining. The vet did a great job explain to us as well as the pet owner what was going on and what needed to be done. Unfortunately Maxine health had declined to much and we had to have her euthanized. They did a great job at making her comfortable as she went to rest. Thank You
