Was in town for 4 nights/ 3 days and found this little gem. All of the staff my lady and I encountered was super friendly, polite and really seemed to enjoy working there...the black dude is one of the most free spirted down to earth people you'll ever meet. Super cool cat. Coffee is great. The hot sandwiches are 10/10. I had the Texas Hold em and Summer Tuna melt. They have more but we were obsessed with these. That habenro sauce they give you is just the right amount of heat. Someone said they're a little pricey then compared them to 711....these 2 aren't even in the same category. The prepped meals then have in the island near the beer really slaps as well. One of the employees recommended the "Siete grain free cookies," and we tried one bag and went back for 4 more before we left. Nice little marble bar to sit and enjoy your coffee or food. They have pizza as well but we did try em. We'll be back to Austin in June/July and can't wait to stop back in. No soup on the weekends but aye, plenty of other good options to choose from. Stay true, Royal Blue. I highly doubt a woman found rocks and "dirt" in her breakfast taco...the guy probably wasn't concerned cause it sounds so ridiculous. LOL.

Actual rocks and dirt in Royal Blue’s spinach tacos. I bit into a mouthful of dirt and rocks inside a taco. I was so shocked. I couldn’t believe it. I immediately told a man behind the counter and he was not phased. I thought for sure they would pull the rest off the shelves but nope. The rocks and dirt were crazy enough but the casual/non caring attitude over the fact that I just bit into rocks and dirt is confusing and unacceptable. He did give me a refund after I asked but I was shocked he left the rest of the tacos out. don’t eat there

Friendly neighborhood drop in and pick up what you want or need quick or take your time and sit at the sidewalk table and watch with a sandwich watching the lovely world. Saved my shirt last week when the person bringing the ice to set up our event was late. Royal Blue to the rescue. We didn’t have to give up our paid parking to hunt and gather ice in traffic. We walked. The world, and downtown feel friendly and convenient when your lucky enough to have a Royal Blue near you.

Amazing store! So convenient, high quality products. Large variety of snacks for the health nut and for the not so healthy individual. Lots of wine and beer options, tonic waters, and a coffee bar for fresh coffee! They have items such as meats and cheeses and also hygiene products and other convenient store options. Very cool aesthetic inside. Old school meets modern. Great for if you’re from out of town and forget some items.

On my lunch break, I stopped at royal blue to grab food. As I walked to the frozen section I slipped with no warning. I Hurt my knee, my right arm, and almost hit my head fortunately I caught myself. 2 employees watch me fall didn’t react until I said something about the slippery floor. Ruined my whole day. Nobody asked if I was ok. I felt so embarrassed and hurt. Now I have to go back to work with a hurt arm. So thanks..

Customer Service is fantastic here. Everyone there is friendly and engaging, and seems genuinely happy you are there. The store is super clean and shelves are stocked and orderly. Great job on the ambiance. The only thing I would have to say is that their prices are a bit on the high side, but makes sense given the downtown hotspot it is located in. Other than that, always a joy to shop and eat there

Excellent little neighborhood grocery, conveniently located downtown. They seem to have everything I need, if a little pricier than usual. Lots of organic, vegan/vegetarian items, a little cafe with food and coffee, and a good selection of cold beverages. Friendly staff every time I've been. All the important stuff a native Austin hippie or a visitor might want or need!

  • Alisha Faye

Has a great selection and helpful staff. My favorite thing they sell is Blue Sky soda although they don't seem to stock the orange one anymore (it tastes like an orange creamsicle in a can). They use Clove for their POS so you can get your receipt via email or text if you wish. Overall, it's a nice place but you should expect to spend more than at most stores.

  • Thomas McGregor

I couldn't recommend Royal Blue Grocery more highly! I work downtown, just 2 blocks away, and every time I visit the grocery I'm met with a wide selection of goods and a smile. I tried their "Texas Holdem'" this morning and the sandwich was ABSOLUTELY amazing! Stop in when you get a chance. You WON'T be disappointed.

Royal Blue Grocery is my favorite convenient store to stop in downtown. They offer a lil bit everything you need. The staff is wonderful, friendly, and helpful. It's a bit pricey, but you'll find most better products (like speciality, organic, healthier, local foods) not offered at regular convenient stores.

  • Hadley Hempel

Not cheap, but Royal Blue is a convenient place downtown to stop in for snacks or beer. I used to live in the AMLI Downtown and always appreciated Royal Blue being so easily accessible so that I didn't have to drive to the grocery story all the time or face the crowds at Whole Foods if I just wanted a snack.

  • Joshua Kleinstreuer

Far more than a grocery store! In addition to their vast selection of snacks, sweets, wine, beer, specialty foods, grag and go sandwiches and salads, they have a great selection of pizza slices and paninis made to order which you can accompany with any beverage you find!

  • Martin Starrett

I always like stopping in for their Hair Bender coffee. It is good. Not your typical grocery store, a little pricey, but its downtown and convenient. Great selection of beer, wines, and eats. Be sure to try the Triple Chocolate cookies, if they have any.

  • Daniel Trejo

I rely far too much on RBG. It has all the little things you may need to make a last minute guacamole, salsa, party bites as well as fresh cooked items from their cafe menu. I do love that they carry a lot of the local Austin brands in their inventory.

  • Danielle Gonzales

Love this place. Great treats and drinks. It's a good spot if you're on the go and need to grab something and they have a lot of great snacks and beverages for everyday. Nice atmosphere to sit and enjoy coffee and the chai latte was really good!

  • Julieth Cueva

I bought this food in royal blue, and the rice is raw as if they just threw it from the bag onto the plate, I got sick, it gave me pain, don't buy that, it's expensive and they don't cook it well, and it's not the first time...

  • Michelle Moon

Super pricey and bougey, but great wine and beer selection and unusual gourmet sundries. I wouldn't shop here regularly but a great spot especially trying to stock up on a few snacks while on a business trip.

  • Kent Santin

Pretty good selection of healthy and specialty products. Price point is fair but you will pay a slight premium due to location and aesthetics. Staff were friendly and helpful. Good wine and beer selection.

  • Chantal Piët

Perfect downtown little grocery store, they have everything you need, including hit steamy Taco's from their own kitchen. Great selection of local products and super friendly staff, love coming here!

  • Michael Kieval

Small grocery with fresh food. High quality products, including many natural products. Prices are high (but not unreasonably so given the convenience store format). Helpful and friendly service.

  • Daphne Glasgow

This is the new Starbucks model. there are like 3 Royal Blues on Congress Ave alone. Kind of sick of seeings these everywhere and the overpriced groceries. Good wine selection though.

  • Ryan Spates

You typically wouldn't think a grocery store could be trendy and cool. They've figured it out. Great pre made tacos to grab and go. Super busy and very tiny, but it gets the job done.

  • Eve Dinnan

What a great little grocery - a little bit of everything. Far better than a convenience store, it's a little haven mid-city to help you sustain without leaving the area.

  • Debra Glenn

Friendly service You can pick up a lot of things. To eat clean or drink They also make in House Pizza. All of royal blue stores are pricey. More than seven eleven.

  • Amanda Rose

The shop has a nice and clean appearance, and it's super convenient for when I have to grab something before or after work. And the staff there is super sweet!

  • antonio

Rude employee instigated something with me, bad mouthed me infront if staff and customers then acted like I did something to them and wouldn’t leave me alone

  • Nicholas

A bit expensive but very convenient. They also have a pretty good selection for the little things. Having a cappuccino while you shop is also a great bonus.

  • melissa goodman

They have a decent selection of organic, gluten free items. However, they are at least a little overpriced. Perhaps a great deal overpriced on some things.

  • Camille

If you want to get taken by the devil, then go here. Homeless people inside and employees playing screamo music that will suck your soul. Don’t recommend.

  • Wendy Trotter
