The Reviews preceding this one (mine) brought me to Rocky’s - and so, I felt obligated to “testify” as well, and to ‘co-sign’ on Rocky and his place. It was great. Tbh, I only kind of ‘half-thought’ that I would meet this guy, “Rocky” who owned the place. But when I walked in - after a couple of smiles and hellos from his friendly staff…he was the first to greet me. “Hi, I’m Rocky - what’s your name?” “Eric, this is Joe and Andy…” etc. until he had introduced me to more than half the bar…the moment I walked in. The night progressed in much the same way, with each new patron that walked in - although, I was now introduced as a friend of his to all who entered after me. A small, personal touch - that felt like such a huge welcome when you are in a new place. The beers were cold, the music and atmosphere was super chill and friendly — and everyone on his staff and in/around his establishment felt like “family” and friends. It honestly felt like a ‘block party’ or cookout — smack dab in the middle of such a hugely populated city as Bangkok. It was warm, it was welcoming — and it is highly-recommended. Stop by for a drink and a hello - you will be glad you did.

I’ve just missed spot no. 90! Haha I visited Rocky’s bar on my last night in Bangkok earlier this week and I was left astounded!! It was refreshing to be met with such hospitality, and for that I have to thank Rocky and his wife. What makes this place even more special is the people you meet there, and Rocky makes sure to introduce you to his friends and patrons alike. The one thing that comes in to my mind as I’m writing this, is the quote “there are no strangers here, only friends you haven’t met yet”. And I reckon this place is the physical embodiment of that. Some places you visit leave a mark it could be the drinks, the atmosphere, the girls ect. At this place its the owner Rocky a New York City native that could easily be one of the nicest bar owners in the city. I have known Rocky for many years and he is always positive with a smile on his face. Always a warm welcome upon entry and a cold drink on the ready. This place reminds me of the old Queens Park Plaza/Washington Square days when you could just slide into a bar have a good conversation, a drink and forget all the chaos around you. Bars like these are a dying breed and I hope all make it a point to visit and support these local establishments you won't be disappointed! Keep on keeping on Rocky see you again soon!

If you go out on the town in Thailand, you soon learn to be grateful for finding a place that offers you respite from the eternal hustle of Bangkok’s streets. Rocky’s Social Club is an oasis for foreigners who want to taste genuine Bangkok nightlife under the safety net of an establishment run by gracious and accommodating American hosts. A great meeting place for travelers and ex-pats alike, the atmosphere is laid-back, fun with great music, and overseen with courtesy and friendliness by It’s terrific owners. The prices are excellent for Bangkok and having Rocky and his charming wife as your hosts - who go out of their way to make you feel like family - has made Rocky’s a favorite and cherished watering hole for people in the know in Bangkok. Highly recommended.

I went to Rocky's and was super impressed with my experience there. It's a family first, italian/thai style bar who's actual focus is your comfort level. Coldest beers in bangkok with amazing server staff. Not only did I only plan to go there for one drink I end up spending my whole night there. It was just that amazing and made me feel like I was in an episode of "cheers". Rocky is an amazing man along with his wife who is such a nice lady. Honestly this will be my go to bar when I return to Thailand. When it comes to a bar it's a one stop shop! Going through some of the streets in bangkok can me intimidating but at Rockys place you feel right at home, literally. Rocky keep killing it because your bar experience is top notch.

Absolute legend! We were not even half way down the alley before Rocky invited us into his bar with open arms. What a guy! This bloke is the real deal and the epitome of hospitality. Made me and my partner feel like friends from the get go. Introduced us to his awesome staff and fellow patrons who we easily struck up a conversation with. Will definitely be heading back to hang out at Ricky's before leaving Bangkok. Highly recommend if you are after just a good genuine and friendly time. Cheers Rocky. Jared

If you are in Bangkok for more than 2-3 days, and looking for building friendships to hang out with, this is your place. I know, from outlook, the street and bar, nothing looks extra special. BUT the secret sauce is Rocky himself. He creates a community! Give it a try, you will understand what I mean. (You’ll probably start hanging out with those guys you meet at Rocky’s). Also he has the coldest beer in town :)) p.s. this is my first or second google review, so imagine how much impact this place has left on me.

I have lived in Bangkok for a year and find I can be very discerning on which places I like to make part of my local go to spots. From the start being welcomed by the owner Rocky and his wife I immediately felt like a friend and could tell this was not just a bar catering to the short-term tourist. It has become a favorite of mine as I always feel at home in a place which puts customers first.

Amazing staff who really go out of their way to make every customer feel welcome. The owner Rocky and his wife are top people. I always felt welcome here from the 1st day I went to this bar feels like a family. Located inside a small sub soi a Bangkok hidden gem. Can drink outside on the balcony or inside and choose your own music. I believe they bringing tvs into the bar to watch games soon. If you get a chance check it out and you will feel at home.

Next time you’re in Bangkok, this bar is an absolute must to visit. Relaxed atmosphere where they will play any type of music you like, cool bartenders, cool patrons to chat with, ice cold beers and top-notch mixed drinks(I recommend the house margarita) The owner, Rocky, makes you feel right at home (check him out in this video. lol) Also, it is in a great location that allows you to check out all the night life that Bangkok has to offer.

Looking to play pool one night, Rocky's place is one of the best bars in Sukhumvit for billiards that I've found. One pool table upstairs. Great drinks at good prices for the area. Whatever you're looking for, this is a guaranteed unique experience. In a crazy Bangkok alleyway that adds more to the adventure. Such authentic real New York underground vibes. How can they miss the NY vibes in bkk? The owners are the real deal.

If there's a better, more friendly and fun bar in Bangkok, I haven't found it! Fantastic place, super friendly host, pretty gals and ice cold beer. Lots of regular ex-pat customers mingling with tourists and passers-by and everyone having a swell time...New York style. Who could ask for anything more? Cin Cin Rocco & co.!

This is a great dive bar with good vibes, a great atmosphere, reasonable priced drinks, and a great place to meet, hang out, or chill with friends.  My man rocky, the owner of the bar, provides great service to his customers and always leaves you with a smile on your face. Definitely recommend checking out this bar!

Beautiful girls, fun environment, amazing bartenders, great music, phenomenal drinks. Very reasonably priced. Everything you want in a bar! The generosity from the owner is unparalleled. Pool table upstairs where you can play your own music and party hard all night. Will definitely visit again!

Absolutely amazing place to hang out and chill a real slice of heaven in paradise cold beers and good people are the foundation of this place come check it out its a regular spot for me and after just a couple visits you'll be a regular too.

Awesome bar, with reasonable prices, in a no frills no fuss environment. They have hostesses that you can talk to if you want, but they are not pushy like everywhere else. Also the owner and his wife are nice to talk to and are often there.

Wonderful experience! Rocko is A-1 when comes to laying out everything you need to know. Very social and knowledgeable. Really down to earth. I can't recommend this place enough. Absolutely awesome experience. Your in for a REAL treat!

Small bar with a big heart. Great views and the clientele that it attracts are usually fun and interesting. The owners are fantastic people. Check this place out if you're on soi 22! And try out the bloody mary.

Great bar tucked into a small soi. Sometimes they serve food, but so far for special occasions only - when I've had it, it was very good (pasta). However, there is a plan to start having food regularly.

Rocky-BB’s is one of BKK’s hidden gems. Chill atmosphere, reasonable prices, great drinks and good people. Highly recommend for a chill night with friends or solo traveling.
