The treasury is in the same building where you buy the tickets for the cathedral itself and is part of the combined ticket. It is split over 3 floors and starts with Roman sculpture before moving to reliquaries and paintings of the Christian era. It is well laid out and has plenty of explanations but it isn't really my cup of tea, I don't understand veneration of saints or even sainthood itself really, just seems like church propaganda and money making. That being said, the fifteenth century painting (8 different panels) was absolutely fantastic and showed the massive leap in artistic skill compared to the earlier works there. Whatever your feelings on the church it is worth visiting the Treasury to get an idea of the mindset of the early medieval period and the evolution of the silver/gold smiths and artists skills.

The areas themselves were interesting. We really enjoyed the visit to the Crypt. Going early in the morning was nice because it was a lot quieter. However, the staff weren’t very good. They told us we were too early to enter the ticket office, so we happily went away and returned at the time they told us to see that many people had already purchased their tickets way before that time. This happened again when we went into the treasury. We were told 9am opening (so we left for 25 minutes) and when we returned, people were leaving that area, which took us 20 mins to wander around. Not only that, but they seemed to be laughing at us. Very disappointed with the service.

Cogi el purple ticket y me entraba treasury. Cuando fui a entrar , ni me pidieron el ticket ni nada .. para pasar un rato bien ( ademas tiene aire acondicionado que en verano con el calor perfecto ) pero no me apasiono . Además no tienen baños , lo que siempre suele haber en un museo . De los 5 elementos que visite del purple ticket me gustaron la catedral , la torre y el baptisterio. La cripta nada de nada y el museo de tesoros sin más .

Small museum with some interesting mostly religious artefacts. The entrance is behind the ticket sales counter for the cathedral and bell tower on the other side of the Peristil. When you buy a combi ticket you get access to all.

The purple ticket is waste of money! 5 places in 30 minutes, especially the Temple of Jupiter. One glance of 2*2 meter room?

Nothing special, just a few religious items. The old books (6-8) were interesting. I would not suggest to buy the ticket.
