A charming bookshop with floor-to-ceilings bookshelves, a shop cat, and a large rhinoceros (what more could one ask for, ha). The shop is small, but with enough twists and turns in its layout to give one the quiet, haunted, labyrinthean feel that lend second-hand bookshops their charm and mystery. Though it is smallish, it is packed! A book lover could easily spend a pleasant afternoon in the shop. This shop is a gem in Nashville, and a must for any lovers of book or bookshops. As an added bonus, there are a handful of cool antique shops in the immediate area. Note: This shop is an experience, not an “on-demand service.” Ie if you’re expecting to rush-in and quickly grab a specific work, that probably won’t work here. This is not a plastic, all smiles, Barnes and Nobles-like operation with employees mandated to smile and an elaborate computer system tracking every book in the world; this is an experience rooted in leisure, not consumerism.

Wow!! A book lover's paradise. Titles you can't find in other stores. Their poetry section phenomenal!! With respectful deference to my fellow reviewer, the sections I was interested in were alphabetized by author. I found their prices reasonable. Their staff was knowledgable, friendly, and helpful. Even though I'm allergic to cats I wanted to hug Charlotte, what a beauty. Their location is easy to find and get to. This will be a regular stop whenever I'm in Nashville. I recommend that anyone interested in books take the time to visit while travelling through the area. It's well worth the time.

This place felt like a dream. It was so beautiful and the epitome of a perfect bookstore. The variety of books was astounding, from hobbies to classic literature to sci-fi, and I was amazed with how organized everything was. I could browse in there for hours! I didn’t expect there to be so many books, but the walls were bookshelves from bottom to top. It was magnificent! The literature section was my favorite, and I found fantastic books that were in great shape. I will definitely be coming here again.

Really a booklover's dream in here - this is the sort of place where the books find you instead of you finding the one specific book you were looking for. Narrow aisles of books stacked to the ceiling, a real maze - I was continually surprised at how it keeps going and going! Really a fun place to browse. And there's a shop cat, Charlotte, though she's more apt to run from you than rub on your leg.

A twisting labyrinth of floor to ceiling books! The staff were very helpful, although I wouldn't enter searching for one particular book. Like most used bookstores, you could find the same book in four different categories. I was surprised by the quality and type of rare books. An unedited copy of Good Omens and a book signed by Salmon Rushdie caught my eyes. Great place for a rainy afternoon!

What a wonderful bookshop! Finding good book stores in Nashville is shockingly difficult, but this one is the real deal. The place is packed floor to ceiling with interesting items. The proprietors were listening to some great old blues when I stopped by, and that made me want to hang around and browse even longer.

Didn’t catch his name but the gentleman that was there helped tremendously! Very patient and kind, took his time showing me many options! Helped me pick some specific books to start off my wife’s vintage collecting. Very cool store and I’m excited to bring my wife next time so she can find some more treasures.

Small cozy bookstore with a very eclectic mix of fiction, genre titles, and non-fiction. Staff is friendly and pricing is aggressive (in a good way). A bit weaker on some of my favorite non-fiction titles so I didn't find anything new to purchase but definitely worth checking out if you are in the area!

Absolutely LOVE this bookstore, nothing in Nashville closely compares. Filled to the ceiling with books, artwork, records, just a maze full of wonderfulness. And they have an adorable grey cat, just the sweetest. Stop in and check it out. You'll find yourself lulled back again and again.

Cozy bookstore that feels like a maze to navigate which I love. They have one of the better collections of art books which is why I tend to stop by. Great prices as well, can't recommend enough!

People that were working just sit there and look at you like they are annoyed, beyond cramped in the store and feels like nothing is in order, just randomly placed. Won't be going back.

Small but quaint. Has only hard back books. Prices were 7 to 15 dollars per book. Limited science fiction selection but large music book selection. Worth the time to stop.

Great selection and friendly service with excellent prices. Bought a 1943 book on Louisiana Bayous because I’m traveling to Louisiana for a few weeks

Great "little" store, which is actually quite MASSIVE inside. A hidden treasure of Nashville. Not a place for true claustrophobics, tho. ;)

  • Rebecca Niles

My favorite hideaway in all of Nashville! So nice to have an establishment with culture instead and history. I love it here so much.

One of my favorite stops in Nashville. It’s the perfect place to search for a book and see some local art. …

Really wanted to like this place and support a small business. A worker there was very rude to our 4 year old son.
