Dining at Restaurant Christine is a puzzling experience, with brilliant highs but some confusion about the ambience they're aiming for? The vibe is much like a trip back in time to the 70s or somewhere a restaurant is a space to hang out in and kick back for hours. It's huge, the white tablecloths and paper menus are pretty basic. There was odd rock music pulsing in the background. The other parties there were intergenerational (one birthday) lending the feeling that this is a place to take the Olds for a treat. But the food was Delicious. I had the special of elk bolognaise on a kind of almost-gnocchi and wanted to lick the plate. Even at $30, I'd return just for that plate. It was rich, perfectly flavored, umami, silky and richly textured. That elk did not die in vain. Our server was attentive, warm and relaxed and there was no pressure to leave after our meal. It was chill, like a quaint regional hotel dining room we chanced upon, more than a restaurant. I hope Restaurant Christine does well. For me to visit for more special meals they need to figure out their ambience. It could be awesome but felt awkward at first, and by mistake. I'd love to see them lean into the niche with real menus, sharing their story. Who are you, Christine? You sure can cook :)

The food is the standout here with everything being absolutely delicious! The menu changes often to utilize fresh ingredients and there are always specials to further capitalize on what's in season. The service was really great as well, the food pacing was perfect and the wine extremely tasty (they even brought out an ice bucket to keep our white wine chilled.) The spring risotto with nettle pesto was incredible as was the pink lady (apple salad) and tuna tartar with ginger glaze. Everything was super fresh and delicious. The only thing that brought me pause was the ambiance. They need a total makeover inside this place. It's like the restaurant was decorated on a timed shopping spree from a going out-of-business TJ Maxx. It's clear the focus is out on the food/menu here and in one respect that's totally fine and even appreciated. That being said, it does create a weird Identity for this otherwise wonderful neighborhood restaurant.

New post: Valentine's Day 2022 Came here for a late date, and again, it is the most wonderful place. Perfect atmosphere, cozy, and the food was absolutely perfect! We came in when it first opened, and more in between, and have never been disappointed. The wait staff is sweet, and care deeply for your experience. Please, do not hesitate stopping in to Restaurant Christine. Old post: I had a wonderful experience with Restaurant Christine. Adam has created a wonderful atmosphere exquisite food with this restaurant. We ordered three items off the menu, and were extremely happy with each dish. We would have been happy with a dish each, but had to try multiple items. The food was light, and perfect for a lunch. With enough room for a dessert and espresso. We are excited to try dinner, and to finish the rest of the menu! Each item is seasonal, and I am more than willing to try new items produced in this kitchen. So come get them while they are still here!

A wonderful experience. Just by accident we found this great restaurant. The location is perfect in a small enclave of restaurants, pub, bookstore in a part of Seattle I didn't know existed - and I've been a Seattle resident a very long time... :-) The atmosphere is very welcoming and the wait staff was outstanding in their hospitality and professionalism. The menu was great. Several items we had were made in house.. like a great focaccia and an incredible chocolate truffle cake. Salmon was the special and it was perfectly prepared. Could not have been better. Looking forward to going there again.

Adam is wonderful! He is so kind and helpful with explaining the menu. He is passionate about what he does and the atmosphere of the restaurant and quality of the food reflects that: it's made from scratch and is all incredibly fresh. The menu is seasonal, so the food is literally as fresh as it can get. We got three different dishes to try them out (beet risotto, clam pasta, and mushroom chicken sandwich), and I can't pick a favorite because they're all incredibly delicious. We will definitely be coming back and we're excited to see how the seasonal menu changes. ---- update as of 2/15, everything is still fresh and the restaurant is lively as ever! Happy for Adam to see his restaurant thriving :)

Pleasant little nice, but less fussy than usual Seattle spot. At a less high price point so good to keep in mind. I really don't often mention issues to waiter (less than once a year). Pros: Salad was very good. Service was good as well. Partners steak was good. Sides / dishes were well seasoned. Wines were average. Cons: Sea Bass cheeks were unpleasantly fishy and stringy (in a way inexpensive frozen ocean fish sometimes is). My fault for ordering really as they are probably from chile and pre frozen - let me know if I'm wrong. Would be nice to see them replaced with a more reliably fresh / local option. Perhaps halibut? I brought this up to the waiter and was gaslit, which is disappointing, hence the review. Also if I'm being extra, I'm quite certain my chard was not properly washed and was gritty.

Went there for Valentine Day. A new restaurant, understaff but those that were working were nice. Our waitress was waiting on us, other tables, busting tables and helping managing the plates. Don't go hungry! Our reservations was at 6pm and didn't leave until 8:45pm. We ordered our drinks and apps and waited over an hour for our meal. At this point I ask the waitress why so long and she explained that this was the first time they had so many people and that they are short staff. I only wished that she had communicated at the beginning and we would have been more understanding. Our dinner was really good. I really liked the red velvet cake. It was very moist! I ask our waitress to ask the chef how is the cake so moist. She told me he said "made with love" Do try them out and be patience. Add photos

Came here for dinner a few days ago and was blown away by the experience. The focaccia and steak au poivre were phenomenal, best I've had in Seattle. The other people in my party had the risotto, beet salad, and tuna tartare and rated it similarly. Outstanding service and an overall incredible experience. Cannot recommend it highly enough!

We booked the restaurant for 15 friends after a family wake. We had a private room, with attentive service and we felt taken cared, for but also had privacy at the same time. The atmosphere was wonderful but when all of the dishes came we were overjoyed. Every dish was superb and as a group we all ended up sharing and trying each other’s because the selection was just soooooo good. The Alaskan crab special pasta, elk meatballs, squid ink risotto with scallops, panacotta with marmalade glaze were divine. The chocolate truffle cake was incredible. Adam and his team are really impressive. We will be returning again and again. From the very outset it is clear Adam cares deeply about the food he creates, his staff and the people in his restaurant. Bravo!!

  • Chris Rupp

Three things I liked about this place: 1) Adam, the chef, owner, and... phone-answerer, was/is super nice. And his restaurant is WONDERFUL. 2) They were super chill about us coming in with our kiddo. We wouldn't normally bring our toddler to a nice place like this, but grandma and grandpa were in from out-of-town, and Adam was super accommodating. 3) The English pea soup was... REALLY effing good. Probably won't be available by the time you're reading this; they seem to make the most of whatever ingredients are in season. But they knocked it out of the park with this one. 4)

This restaurant is a MUST try. Not only are all of the people who work here super kind, the food is AMAZING. Definitely one of the best in Seattle up there with Spinasse and Canlis IMO. I'd drive here if you live within 30 miles

We were pleasantly surprised by one of the best calamari appetizers in recent memory, expertly seasoned and properly crispy (but not at all greasy). Interesting menu items (when was the last time you saw a menu offering liver? or elk meatballs?) with many a minute seasonal touches (fiddleheads, nettles) but still enough selection for picky-ish eaters. One caveat: this is not really a place for wine aficionados; the wine list is sparse and very ordinary. Overall, we came away quite satisfied and would choose this place again.

Went to Christine’s today for lunch with a friend. The food was absolutely excellent, perfect in every way. I had the chicken mushroom sandwich with a side salad and my friend had the creamy mushroom soup and the truffle fries. The flavors were amazing, and everything was perfectly seasoned. There was something for everyone on the menu, and the owner says the menu changes seasonally. The owner/chef/waiter was on his own today as it was Monday lunch, but he did a fantastic job of balancing chatting with customers, cooking and serving. I will definitely be back and will be bringing the rest of my family. A neighborhood gem.

  • Roger Knopf

Terrible place - avoid. OK, I lied. I just want to be able to get in when I come back. It's a lovely neighborhood bistro. The atmosphere is warm and comfortable. Service is friendly. The food reflects the chef's command of flavor and texture. The dishes are wonderfully focused and beautifully presented. The menu is relatively small which I feel is just enough - how many places have you been with 75 items on the menu and none of them excellent? Not here, if our experience is a true guide. The wine list is also small but well chosen. OK, give this place a try. We'll be back.

One of the best burgers I've had in Seattle. Get it with the bacon, it's AMAZING!! I was meeting a friend for lunch and was telling a story when I took a small bite. I stopped and said "tell me how you're doing, I need to focus on this burger for a few minutes". I'm going to drag friends over to try it next time. The fries were also very good, but there should have been about half as many fries.

We came here for lunch based on the reviews and the name (yes, I was excited that a place shared my name). The food was excellent - really enjoyed the fried zucchini sandwich, the remoulade sauce was a nice pairing I wouldn't expect. I do wish there were more fries accompanying the sandwich, but it was just enough to be comfortably full.

2023 Update: The food here is still amazing and the lunch special an incredible deal. I just tried their summer menu, and the chicken milanese is one of the best things I’ve eaten this year, period. The pistachio cannoli is lovely, too. 2022: The food here is awesome. The owner is really friendly and works hard to create a menu that is seasonal, fresh, and unique. It is very cute inside, great spot for a date night. The lunch specials are also great value for the price.

My wife and I where walking be the restaurant. Read the menu which looked excellent and decided to eat there the next day. The people there were super nice and even had the chef/owner come to our table to introduce himself. The food was more then excellent. It was a work of art. The the service can’t be beat. Couldn’t have waited more then ten minutes for our food. Prices where very fair. Everyone should go through what we did there. It was perfect. I’m telling all our friends. My wife and I will definitely be back.

This is such a beautiful location, with an elegant atmosphere. The menu is well thought out and offers a beautiful selection of seasonal offerings. The portions are generous and plated to accentuate each dish. This is a wonderful restaurant, locally owned and operated. Adam (I think it's the owner's name) was charming and offered excellent descriptions of each dish. I can't wait to see what each new season brings to the menu. I will definitely return! Thank you for such a delicious appetizer, meal, and dessert!

I just had the BEST burger from Restaurant Christine. Placing a takeout order over the phone was a breeze. I got the Zoe burger on a gluten-free bun (SO excited to see they have GF options). I like my burgers well-done, and they managed to cook it that way without drying it out. The burger was thick and juicy and just perfect. And the fries that came with it were perfectly seasoned and crispy. The owner is also delightful to talk to. I will definitely be coming back again and again!

  • Jon Hadley

Food was ok, and our servers were great, portions were a bit small though. The crab cake was priced pretty high considering it was just one small cake. My girlfriend's duck was not the greatest either. But, our server very nicely offered to let us order from the dinner menu a few minutes early before they switched over from the lunch menu, but we could then hear the cooks complaining about it from across the whole restaurant.

Went here for date night recenyly and very glad we did. Great food. I chose the restaurant because I saw the liver on the menu and I LOVE well prepared liver, this definitely fit the bill! My favorite dish were the elk meatballs or my dudes main, the halibut cheeks! So good. The bread was great as well. Drink/beer list was great. The chef came out to talk to us at the end at told us it was his restaurant. Couldn't have been nicer and we look forward to frequenting in the future!

I visited for lunch on a trip to Seattle and it was really good. The person working while I visited was friendly and had good recommendations. The food was really good, they had a nice drink selection and I saw an espresso machine. I also really enjoyed the tasteful goose-themed decor. I would go back and eat here again or recommend to anyone living in or visiting Greenlake neighborhood/Seattle

Giving it a 5 star for this new restaurant. We had dinner reservation on V-day at 6pm and left the restaurant at 830pm. It was a very long wait for food. We ordered the lobster, venison and sable fish. It didnt seem too crowded but the staff was multi tasking due to staff shortage. If u go in hungry order extra appetizers. The food was delicious! I reluctantly shared my very moist Red Velvet cake with my husband! The staff was friendly and very apologetic!!

Restaurant Christine is lovely. Lots of tables for groups of varying sizes, and the only menu I have ever seen where I can add sea bass cheeks to my salad!! I had a caprese salad with grilled chicken and scallop, and it was delicious and the scallop perfectly cooked. Make sure to call before you visit. We tried visiting around 11:20am on a Tuesday for lunch and it was not open (even though their hours say they open at 11). They said the person with the key would arrive around 11:30, but we waited past 11:30 and they still did not arrive. We ended up driving somewhere else for lunch. Maybe it’s more of an issue during a quiet weekday lunchtime period, but it’s still an issue that the opening hours are not reliable.

We've been here twice already, and plan to come weekly for lunch. Cozy, quiet (you can hear each other and have a proper conversation!), friendly, and fantastic food. Between us we've had the burger, the halibut cheek sandwich, and the vongole, all excellent. I plan to eat my way through the rest of the menu, which chef/owner Adam says will change seasonally. We're so very happy this restaurant has opened in our neighborhood.

We have a great time every time visit. The food is terrific, but Adam, the owner, is amazing. He’s super friendly, happy to help with the menu, and accommodating. He overheard we were going to split our dishes and he plated them split for us. The menu changes often and there’s always a special, so we always have something new to try. Today we got the mushroom risotto special and spring chicken sandwich

A delightful evening with friends. The atmosphere is quiet – even indoors. Our waitress did not seem to mind that my wife and I shared a salad “and“ an entrée. Who would have thought that a plum would enhance a salad so fully. We then enjoyed the Saint Helens Hanger Steak, fingerlings of juicy portions enhanced especially by the tomatoes.

I like their serving of oysters, from Pickering passage of Washington, very fresh and meaty, crab cake is just okay, there is some herb that is a little off putting. The boar sausage pasta was also okay, the tagliatelle sticks together and looks a bit overcooked. The seared scallop and rice is pretty good, like that one a lot. More

Beautiful restaurant. Delicious burger and fries! I stopped by for a solo dinner. My server Cody was so attentive and kind. I ended up staying longer than expected since I was enjoying my time drawing and chatting with the staff outside in the sun ☀️

Been here 4 or 5 times and has been excellent food every time. The chef (owner?) has come out to check on us every time were there. The ravioli with carrot top pesto is delicious. Always a fave!

Wonderful, went after a memorial service as a guest. The waitstaff were so kind and knowledgeable, we weren't rushed out the door and best of all the food was terrific. We are definitely coming back!

This is an unpretentious restaurant in a great neighborhood. We went for Saturday dinner. The food was delicious (mussels, a rabbit stew on house-made pasta, and hanger steak-frites) and the service was excellent. We'll be going back.

Burger and fries were excellent, taken to go. The ravioli was nicely al dente, but traveled less well. update: recently had the pasta side to go. it did travel well and was exactly what i wanted!

Excellent food, nice clean space, and friendly service. All you could ask for in a neighborhood restaurant! A little on the pricy side, but the quality is absolutely reflected in the dishes. More
