"This is known, often, as the symbol of Multan - Used besides - no guesses there - The Tomb of Hazrat Shah Rukh-e-Alam - To whose shrine this is the gate! I think that unto itself - Being a symbolic gateway to the Shrine of Shah Rukn - is a sufficient 'review' of the place"
"The original door had been destroyed and replaced by what can be called as artistic nightmare having no comparison to the previous long stood historical and cultural landmark"

In the past, forts were built from a defensive point of view to protect cities or areas from enemy attacks. Similarly, Qila Kuhna Qasim Bagh is a major symbol of the antiquity of Multan, a city in the Punjab province of Pakistan. Multan was the gateway to the subcontinent, through which no invader could advance. The world’s greatest kings, adventurers, and warriors brought their large armies to conquer this fort, but after the conquest, everyone caused severe damage to palaces, courts, barracks, and other properties.

Nice place for picnic with family in Multan. Located infront of the Ghanta Ghar chowk, this famous Qasim Gate routes you to the Tombs of Shah Rukhn-e-Alam (RA) and Bhaudin Zikriya (RA). Multan's highest spot i.e Damdama is also located beside the tombs. From here, you can see Multan as far as sight gets you through. An Art Gallery is also situated in the Damdama. A meuseum also lies beside the Damdama along with the vast never ending lush green ground.
