The staff member in this facility was hostile, abrupt, and downright rude. I reserved a locker online and received a quote and confirmation #. The next morning I was called by the property manager, she confirmed my reservation and set a time for us to meet. When we came into the location, we were asked what we wanted. We told her we had a reservation, and were there to get the keys. She took our name and began listing what we were required to purchase for the unit from her. The price she gave us was much higher than the quote online. When we tried to tell her that the must be a mistake, she told us the "call center is full of it". We hadn't spoken to any call center. After refusing to answer our questions about the price discrepancy, she pointed at a list of insurance plans and repeatedly asked, " which one?" At this point, my family decided to call the call center and ask what the deal was. They told us that she should have asked for a confirmation number, and the company directed us to another facility in town. The second facility was absolutely professional and courteous. I would recommend choosing a different location than this one for storage needs. Good company, bad employee at this location.

I’m very disappointed by my experience yesterday, 05/31/2020, as I have never had a problem with this company in the past. I made an online reservation and was quoted a rate of $25 after fees (5x5). When I arrived the employees weren’t friendly, no greeting rather bothered by my presence at 10:00 a.m. After me introducing myself and explaining my appointment and online reservation. She proceeded to tell me I was going to be charged $40 more than my quote and advertisement of $1 first month. I asked about the extreme differences and a breakdown of what caused it to jump. She rolled her eyes and walked over to locks explaining I was being charged for that amongst other fees. I told her I had my own storage lock and that wasn’t necessary. She then asked to see it, I said it was at home with my stuff! She only replied it only gives an estimate and that there are other fees not listed. No resolution or attempt to show what I was paying for. I told her never mind. I came home, called the Storage Mart on SW Trafficway and got the same unit and a complimentary call this morning for $25. Public Storage is 2min from my home also but I’ll travel before paying for bad business.

My name is Katherine Jones I was at your storage about 2 weeks ago and my experience there was awesome. Tameica was very helpful and her friendly attitude was really like a breath of fresh air. I was there several months ago and was helped by Tameica then also. I found the whole experience very pleasant. She went above and beyond the call of duty. She helped me with getting things out of the unit and told me about the auctions that happen every month. I work with providing a home environment for people who don't have one and I am always in need of household items. The information she shared with me was great. I had lost her Public Storage card she gave me and on my second visit she was there. I could not wait to come in and see if she was there. To my surprise she was there and I told her what had happened and that I would make sure I would give her a review. She was still very helpful and gave good customer service. I was there with a client who was in an abusive situation and I was helping her move from the person who was abusive. Once again Tameica was able to make the experience enjoyable. Thanks great customer service. She is truly an asset to your company.

Unforeseen circumstances made for an urgency to get a to find a last minute booking for a unit. You get what you pay for, I guess, or worse. I did an express check-in because I had hourly movers on the clock, only to be told repeatedly that "it must not have gone through. " Until the very end of the "appointment" where the staff confirmed there was already a pre-existing account... like the one I had made. Was shown units in disrepair, and moldy. The attendant was short, rude, disagreeable and not very welcoming or inviting. Yes this is a self service facility, but some customer service and kindness go a long way. I wish I had gone with a different facility. The access hours are limited, there's no heat, and the attendant was rude, and made a difficult situation worse. I had chose PS for the lower unit rate; never again. It ended up saving me nothing in the end with the difficulty regarding an available unit, and costing more time & money than needed. Also, if using a moving company, there's no accessible loading for any large trucks, so better hope your unit is close to the street.

Went with a friend to get stuff from their unit. We got there at 5:25 and the gate was shut and locked. My friend called and was told that they closed at 6 and when my friend pointed out that it was not even 5:30 yet they told her that she would just have to use the elevator. when she asked if they could unlock the gate she was very rudely told no an that she was wasting her time on the phone because she had to be out by 6. We didn't even bother going in that day. My friend is afraid to post a bad review because she has family heirlooms in her shed and worries that if she complains something will happen and she will loose her stuff. When I asked her why she feared that she said that the way she was treated made her feel if she caused trouble bad things would happen. Well I may not have a shed there I have seen and heard first hand how they treat their paying customers so I have no issue leaving this review. STAY AWAY!.

I want to give a HUGE shout-out to Lisa who works at the Public Storage at Main and Armour. She is FABULOUS! I helped a friend of mine empty out her storage unit this past month. We visited Public Storage four times, and every time Lisa was on duty. She was very friendly and patient with all our particular needs--like having to get a new entry code and working around the upper and lower outside gate closures. She was extremely kind to my friend's very energetic and outgoing young daughter, asking her about school and answering her questions about posters and notices she saw in the office. Once, we needed 10 more minutes to finish loading up, and Lisa stayed past closing time to allow us to do that. Moving is always stressful, and Lisa really helped us through the experience by being so easy to deal with, and such a great human being! Many, MANY thanks to Lisa!

Customer service here is horrible. I was served by Toya and she was very nice over the phone when I was setting up my reservation. When I actually got to the place, she was extremely rude and extra ghetto. I bought the $1 first month online promo, but ended up paying $40 plus she forced me to pay for thier insurance and was an additional $15. On thier website it says I'm not required to get insurance but it is "offered". I did not have the option of a choice in buying insurance and was not able to rent the unit unless I paid for the insurance. She also seemed disappointed I wasn't paying cash, which makes me think she planned on pocketing that extra money. After the first month I will be moving my belongings out. I'd rather over pay than receive subpar customer service from here. I definitely do not recommend renting here and I'd give it 0 stars if I could.

I got a unit today at the one on 34th and main the sales lady was an absolute angel my daughter was going through a rough couple of day and she needed to move her stuff to a storage unit asap because people were watching it ready to take her stuff I got there late and in the nick of time. I didn’t know that you had to be all the way out by six I thought as long as you had the code you can gain access to your belongings well she came out at six and told me that they needed to close up by six I apologized and almost felt like I was holding her hostage but when I shared my daughter story she I could see the sympathy in her eyes so if she is reading this some how I am so very grateful too you and that you didn’t put us out I know you could have may God bless you Lisa

BEWARE of renting at this property you will not be able to access your storage unit beyond the office hours. She locked the whole place up so if you work at 9 to 5 you were just downright beat. Oh and holidays you can count them out too. I used my storage unit to hide all the Christmas presents for Christmas not knowing this Christmas Eve and Christmas. They weren’t even open we have to do Christmas after Christmas, so if you’re like every other hard-working person in a normal city that works Monday through Friday and sometimes on Saturdays, you won’t even have access to your own stuff oh and Sundays you can count that out that’s her day off she don’t come in

Used their storage for about 3 months. When I changed my address, I forgot to update my credit card info, but their staff was quick to reach out to me to ensure I didn't end up paying a late fee. I really appreciated that. While on my process to empty my storage space, Lisa walked up to me and checked in to make sure I had no problems with my unit. She was very kind and attentive. My only qualm was that the magnet on the doors weren't on, so I had to use other things to hold the door open while we moved stuff in and out. Very minor problem so I am giving them a 5 star review. Will be using this business again in the future.

Tameica was awsome she treated me as if we had met before she made my first move to a plublic storage great. She explained everything before starting process so that i had understanding of how public storage works before any pay. I was very satisfied with her customer service was outstanding!!! I came to help unload for a friend and the staff just shut the orange garage door on me at 4:52pm. So they don’t close at 5pm on the weekend. They close at 4:52pm. When we were here last Wednesday, no one was even here from 2pm-6pm and the staff had deactivated my friend’s gate code, even though her payments were on time, because she had taken too long to unload last time and wasn’t out until 6:02pm and they close at 5:50pm on weekdays (not 6pm). Very unprofessional and staff centric, not customer centric.

I needed a storage unit ASAP after a bad mix up with an apt complex. These lovely ladies at this location helped me out, big time! Roenia explained everything and showed me all the things I'd need there. She was very informative and crazy funny! She made me laugh in a situation that I wasn't happy about. I accompanied my nephew to the 3440 Main, Public Storage location yesterday and I was treated to a customer service excellence by Tameica, who made me feel as though I was renting storage as well as my nephew. Her approach was very knowledgeable, energetic, thorough, and enthusiastic . Also, I noticed that any customer who entered while we were there received the same v.i.p. treatment in a timely fashion. I don't ever post reviews but this one is necessary. Do not use this facility! The office is NOT always open during "business hours". We tried making in-person payment and had terrible luck because no one was there and the next Time we came back she said she will be back after Lunch when clearly I am there and need assistance. What!?!!! The staff is rude and does not care about the customer. We have had payment issues both months so far and are planning to leave this facility.

I really was pleased by the support and the incounter i recieved on the phone and in the store they have the kindest, most respectful attitudes in there who would not want to rent from them.With experience i had i would recommend them to who ever need a place to store there goods because i stored mines and i wouldnt choose another place they can have my bussiness here anytime i need it. I've rented from these people for some time and some of the people are super helpful nice and some are just downright bad people and just not the nicest the adjectives that come to mind I will not use here but some of the employees have been just straight up a holes and rude. But others have been quite pleasant. I know there was a manager there while back that was just I can't say anything but really negative things here so I won't.

BEWARE- the building smells like urine and mildew. I never used the storage unit. They didn’t want to work with me in the office and pressured me to book online. It’s because if they show you where you will be keeping your stuff you wouldn’t rent it. They refused to give me a full refund even after telling me they would. I feel scammed and disturbed they think I should be okay with keeping my fabric items in a mold factory. Yuck.

My experience with public storage was amazing , Tamecia was very polite and helpful. I've never used a public storage and she made the experience easy and hassle free , I highly recommend that if you want a high quality service and good customer service then you should definitely go there . Tamecia knew her facts about the store and answered every question that I had for her. Definetly a great place to rent a storage

Perfect location for my needs. Super helpful staff. Lisa I think and sorry I don’t remember the other one’s name. The elevator was broken so they allowed me to change to a unit on the ground floor all on a Sunday so pretty amazing service. The carts are so convenient too. Only reason I didn’t give 5 stars is the plastic across the top of my unit has stuff on if and I’d love to have a clean fresh one put up.

Pros: it does what it needs to. Cons: business hours. Set my arrangements up over the phone, had one thing reserved, came in and Lisa? offered a different thing.. Like everything was different. I couldn’t tell if she was trying to move me on her own accord or what but I didn’t take that space. Got the space I originally reserved and everything went smooth. Thank you!

Second Time using this storage facility. It’s a great location and the staff is great. Toya has taken care of us both times and love her personality. I would definitely use them again. Prices are Fair and I like how secure it feels. One thing that can make it better is if the repave and level out the exit, scrape with my car on the way out almost every time.

Have had this storage unit a month, the times I have had to deal with the front desk they have been so rude and unprofessional. The property manager both times has an attitude and has the worst customer service attitude I have ever dealt with. I was told by two different people conflicting information. The whole area is a nightmare.

Lady at desk/cool but the other 2 are HELLA RUDE & DISRESPECTFUL...EVERY SINGLE TIME...not to memtiom rats, mice and roaches!! Awful experience everytime I HAD to go there!!! Do NOT rent here, if you do take EVERY precaution to protect your things against rodent, bugs, moisture and mildew and be prepared for ATTITUDE!!!

Ms. Tameica and Le'Cira were great. They kept a smile on their faces and accurately answered every question asked. Even helped with packaging an item I had to ship out. One of the young ladies was off today but still helped out willing. I will not hesitate to return to this location for my packaging and storage needs.

The facility is not what is getting 5 stars... The service from Tameika is what gets the 5 stars. She has a passion for what she does and she does it well. It is very apparent that she truly cares about her customers. You dont see that passion for customer sercice very often, but when you do, it must be recognized.

Clearly these reviews are padded by friends and colleagues; This is the worst chain storage facility in Kansas City - hands down. I have been renting storage units all over Kansas City for well over thirty years. The staff is so inept as to be a cartoon image of bad service. There are mice galore... and roaches.

Ashley was really helpful getting me moved in and showed me multiple units to get the right fit. Getting in and out of the storage facility was hassle free even with all the construction going on in the area. Wow, Have not even had public storage a week, and this location off 35th Main is the worst. Not open on time. No gate for after hours. Wow, up here a 2nd time its 10:0 and the doors are locked it's not open, cant get in to get my items, and had uhaul truck on reserve. Wow.

4.4 stars is a scam and a lie this place is garbage the older lady is a B and won’t get off her rear to help you for anything they won’t squeegee the water into the drain when it rains so your stuff will be rusty if you don’t prep for humid
