Don't write many reviews but this one is well deserved. My husband was hungry so we decided to go to Pollo D'Oro tonight. We called ahead to inquire about a table - the phone was answered promptly but we didn't get a response. There was a loud music playing and somebody laughing. Not a good sign but we went ahead. We got started with a ceviche and pisco sour (our favorite). We got a ceviche served on a shallow plate (not an appropriate dish for any ceviche) with one appetizer plate and two sauces. The pisco sour was served in a plastic cups and not glasses with half of the amount of the regular portion but at the full price. It was followed by the Fathers Day special - ribs with the stew. The special was good but overpriced. The half of the rotisserie chicken was barely warm. Some of the yucca fries were undercooked. Some of the yucca fries were not cooked well. The tap water was served and tasted really bad. We ordered a sparkling water for our daughter but the waiter forgot about it and brought it back only after we reminded him. The check came with the mandatory 20% gratuity and a lengthy explanation that paying with a credit card will cause us to incurred a convenience fee. The total for a very mediocre dinner with drinks for two adults and one kid came to a whopping $189 dollars. And to top this off, we got a lengthy explanation that the canchita (not sure about the spelling) are being served only with ceviche and not separately. I was not thrilled with the service, the quality of food and hospitality. Would not recommend this place. Would not recommend this place.

The two times Ive come here Ive found Pollo de oro to have great food but be a dissapointing experience. The best part about the restaurant is definetly the food, I particularly like their aji de gallina (the sauce is 10/10!). The food’s presentation is beautiful and the serving sizes are pretty large. The drinks are fine and they have a pretty good happy hour deal. However, the vibes are not great. I last came in on a weekday and the restaurant was empty and the music was too loud. I also did not like that someone was taking out the trash through the main exit while we were having dinner. The servers were nice. Will probably not be coming again to dine in (might do takeaway) which is a pity because I am so close to this restaurant!

Stopped in on a weekday for a quick lunch, the service was a bit slow considering that we were the only table there. The flavors are ok, but nothing that is a "must get that again," the size of the dishes are on the lighter side, so if you're super hungry, you might have to order a few things to few satiated. The presentation of the food was very nice, but as mentioned, the size of the servings are small for the price they charge. We had a few dishes and the flavor is more of a 4 star but given we were the only table there and the services was super slow and almost not existent, our water was never refilled, it gets an overall 3 stars. Probably won't return as they are many more Peruvian restaurant serving similar dishes that are larger for the same price if not less.

I love this place! Truly fantastic staff and delicious, authentic food. The Pisco Sour was great but very small. The food came in pretty big portions. The empanadas were just perfect and I would order these anytime I'm nearby again. The lomo saltado and tallarines saltado were both really good, but the lomo was definitely better. The tres leches cake was incredible and very rich.

I frequent here for lunch but yesterday was awful . It took 30 mins for our drinks to come out . The place was not packed at all , but the bartender was busy chatting with the couple that walked in after us , who got their food and drinks way before us ,and playing with her hair , while having gloves on . After another 20 mins food came out . Not even hot . Just a bit warm. It was 5 of us . And we all took our food to go .

This place is near Tillary, off of Flatbush. It was not crowded at all. Because of that service was quick and servers were attentive. I had a mojito and the other person had a margarita. The empanadas are really good. I ate the chicken and cheese. My entree was the chaufa... can't go wrong there. This is a nice low key place for dinner if you are in the area.

Came here for dinner right after a long day of work and we were utterly delighted! The service was exceptional - friendly and efficient. We got the classic ceviche, the chaufa and the quarter peruvian chicken with fries. Everything was delicious!! Packed w flavours that well balanced. I could not get enough of the green sauce! Will be back for more!

I went to this restaurant as a backup, and it was good. The cocktails were okay, the food had presentation and was delectable. The staff were attentive and helpful. The restaurant itself is well maintained with a nice outdoor seating area. The only thing that set me aback was the credit card surcharge that was applied. While the waitress did notify me before taking my order, she offered not to apply the surcharge if I paid via venmo/cashapp.

This place was just a disappointment. The food looked pretty but had absolutely no flavor whatsoever, it was under seasoned, bland, the opposite of what one would expect from a Peruvian restaurant. Even the yucca fries lacked any sort of depth. Also, there was something wrong with the beef in my dish, it was tough and smelled/tasted old. The service was meh, the drinks nothing too exciting, no real redeeming quality. Def not going back.

Atmosphere is chill and the place is quaint but I don't know if the chef is working remotely like half of everyone these days but my main dish was definitely missing something... however the anticucho was on point. Best advice come for appetizer and some mixed drinks and have a good time.

Great little Peruvian spot. Food was delicious and the outdoor area is big and servers are friendly. Beware a bit slow on service and an extra fee if paying by card (use Zelle or Venmo), but not a bad place to scratch the South American cuisine itch.

Most of our business meetings take place at Pollo D’Oro. Their menu provides an array of tasty delights that range from their tasty chicken and amazing Peruvian green sauce to their ceviche, octopus dishes and salads. Vegetarians would love this place as they have dishes for everyone. We have held events here too and enjoyed some of their amazing bands!!

Huge portions reasonably priced. I would have liked more interesting cocktails but otherwise great experience. Would definitely go back.

Overall good experience. My favorite dish has always been jalea. It was flavorful. Only critique was there was so much fish vs. Calamari & shrimp. Service was excellent!

I came here for a farewell lunch for my former boss. I've never had Peruvian food but I'm now a fan. The dessert is out of this world. I love tres leches and this dessert was perfect. The food was so tasty and not salty at all which was my concern. Everything was cooked to perfection. I will definitely be coming back here.
