Setting off from Central London to the outer wilderness of High Barnet was a shock to the system as the temperature seemed to drop by ten degrees, however, not even the cold could deter me from reaching my next destination on the quest to visit every Pizza Express in London...as I ventured far north. Welcome to the Barnet branch! This was a wonderful evening with close friends and one of my most enjoyable trips so far.... Quality of food: 18/20 The dough balls were deliciously warm and the garlic butter helped them to melt in the mouth. My Pollo Pesto with no mushrooms was delectable; it was lovely to have some variety in the texture of the pasta. Finally, the generous helping of chocolate brownie Dolcetti added the perfect finish with a heart-warming cup of tea! Atmosphere: 16/20 The high ceilings (although rather plain) gave the restaurant a fine acoustic and I found the interesting art work absorbing, including that of the great Elvis Presley. The wine bottle display shelf was impressive. This restaurant will shortly be undergoing refurbishment work but will only be closed for a brief period. Staff friendliness and efficiency: 19/20 I was impressed with how welcoming the staff were from the outset, including allowing me to lay out seven Cadbury Cream Eggs for my friends before they arrived. I was asked whether I would like a drink whilst waiting for the other guests and our waitress made us feel very welcome for the entire duration. Cleanliness: 17/20 The restaurant was clean and it was welcoming to find our table set up and ready to go with laid out menus before the booking time. The refurbishment will no-doubt help the development of the facilities and restaurant ambience. Overall enjoyment: 18/20 What can be better than an evening out with great friends and lots of laughter? Thank you Pizza Express, Barnet, for being host to a memorable evening. Tonight my family of 5 had an amazing meal and drinks. We had Starters, Mains and Desserts, all of which were delicious and beautifully presented. From the moment we arrived at 7 30pm we were greeted by Anna and David who continued to be attentive to us throughout the next hour and a half. We spent extra time there having Mint Tea, so delicious with real mint leaves. We will certainly be returning to Barnet Pizza Express within the next few weeks. From Sheila Sheridan

What could have been a lovely dinner after work with my colleagues was ruined by what I would call a pathetic manager. Our waitress was lovely but probably new to the job. She made a slight error when putting our order in the till so even though we told her about coupons we had to claim, we weren’t able to claim them. She apologised for error immediately but the manager came up with every excuse under the sun as to why he couldn’t honour the coupons. All of his pretty lousy excuses just wasted all our time as he was able to honour it after all, just a shame it took 20 minutes for him to do so and unfortunate threats to get police involved. I certainly won’t be back even if the food and service was genuinely good. No apology from him either for what was their mistake

I couldn’t be happier with todays service. I took my son and some of his friends to pizza express for a birthday meal today and the service was fantastic!!! Our table was looked after by 2 ladies but I stupidly didn’t take their names however they were super pleasant & patient from start to end. They really went over and above to make us feel comfortable. The food came out fast, hot and tasty in fact I had forgotten how good PE’s pizzas are. Great service !!!!!!

Son chose to go here for his during the week birthday dinner. The restaurant was quite full, but a nice atmosphere. Service was ok, slightly chaotic due to orders going out and lots of delivery guys in helmets waiting around. The service team were polite but not organised. The Pizza Express in Barnet doesn’t feel like a chain restaurant- it has a relaxed atmosphere where families are welcome and the food is good. The staff have been there for years to, always welcoming and friendly. We were served by Dominick again this evening and we honestly cannot fault his service. It makes you want to go back. I always love going to Pizza Express they have a regular menu which changes occasionally but still keep the standards on. Also, a glass of wine is so nice as they choose good quality wines. I have rarely been to a Pizza Express that I did not like. What I love is that you can also just pop in for a coffee and cake. I hope they keep going like this . Highly recommended by me!

We've been going to this branch for the last 20+ years and always have a lovely time and great food. It's a good branch and gets pretty busy sometimes, but that just shows what a good restaurant it is! One particular pizza chef, Cesar, has the 'magic touch' and makes the pizzas better than any other branch I've ever been to.

£4.20 for a "bit" of chocolate cake that was well past its sell by date. Pollo pasta was lovely, could have been a little lighter on the sauce (tad thick) pizzas were a good size and enjoyable. But as usual over priced. Two large pizza's one pasta dish, three "bits" of chocolate cake £64.80 luckily three gift cards so £4.80 in cash. Too expensive for what it is.

The service in this branch is exceptional, the waiters are very attentive and friendly even during late hours while the chefs clearly display their efforts. The food is delicious and even though it is a pizza restaurant their pasta’s are amazing! I would highly recommend the calamari and dough-balls as starters. If you live locally this restaurant is a great choice.

Pizza Express in High Barnet is my favourite place. Great customer service and amazing food. I highly recommend this particular location. The manager Banu and Chis are amazing duo delivering an exceptional customer service. I want to mention that Vegan Nourish Bowl is my absolute favourite. I learned that it’s made by Chief Ilhan.

Just been here for our first meal of 2018. Four adults and 4 children. Service excellent, food excellent. Everyone enjoyed the choices they made, from pizzas to salads. I do love the starters, calamari and dough balls being my favourites. Service is included so no worry to put a tip. Friendly staff and a lovely casual atmosphere.

Banu and her team give exceptional service and the food is consistently good. We know everyone by name on Banu’s team as that is just how friendly they are. We even hosted my daughter’s birthday there and given we were 40 kids, they managed to serve everyone at the same time and didn’t get one order wrong. First class :)

Moved out of Barnet about 7 years ago, but always venture back for a Pizza Express visit. Love the atmosphere in the restaurant and the space they have. Anna is a great waitress and often have the pleasure of being served by her when we visit. Always very welcoming and attentive. Food is obviously delish! Thanks guys!

My chicken wings were pure pink and our waiter was extremely rude when I said I'm not eating them. Shouting at me telling me there is nothing wrong with them. I am happy however with the way the manager delt with the situation. We often eat at pizza express but since Enfield shut down we've had a bad experiences.

It's a good place for family and friends, also large groups of people. Tends to get busy around 18:00, so if you really want to go safe, book in advance or go early. Pizza is good, but not the best in town. Great selection of wines,. The place is clean and has close on street parking.

Lots of choice of good pizza, pasta, and salad. They had a trainee chef who burnt one of our pizzas but they bought a free salad out and had a new pizza made in about 5 minutes. This branch is in a nice area however the building is a little run down.

Pizzas are incredibly tasty. Great selection of starters and main courses. However, the staff is highly stressed and overwhelmed with work. There are a great number of Deliveroo drivers hanging around, and staff stuffing pizzas into boxes.

This is my very first time in Barnet’s Pizza Express. And They were not friendly at all. When I stepped into the restaurant, the chefs were starring and literally laughing at me like I was from Mars.

The food was what you would expect. Service was exceptionally poor. You couldn't get anyone's attention. Plates were not cleared from the table whilst we ate dessert. Sent my son to ask for the bill.

When busy it's so loud you can't hold a normal conversation, the acoustics are awful. Food generally pretty good but our mains all came at different times.
