The word "mall" is quite misleading. One Google user went far enough to say that they were looking for cheap souvenir t-shirts here (that they never found) and was maybe a good "mall" for the "locals"...no, just NO!! Ahahaha! Anyone who has eyes and isn't blind can clearly see that this place is Second City (and their other companies/theaters/studios/classrooms). There just happens to be a few places to grab a drink, bite, and a gym attached to it. Even the bar/restaurant inside (1959) is a part of Second City. The description to this location on Google is misleading and needs updating, too. There's a box office once you walk in, but that's not for a cinema; it's for the many shows you can treat yourself with seeing here! The fact that this location houses Second City warrants five stars in itself.

The Second City Comedy Club is here. They also have a Chipotle and a Starbucks, among other stores. It's also within walking distance of the Purple Line express / Brown line stop at Sedgwick (2 blocks) and the Red Line at Clark / Division (5 blocks) and North / Clybourn (6 blocks). It's close to the loop (1 1/2 miles south on Wells), so I have plenty of choices when it comes to eating before a class or show at Second City. I recommend taking public transportation unless you live within walking distance because like most places in the city, parking is not cheap or easy to find. They do have a parking garage and there is street parking along North Avenue and Wells Street.

It's a mall! You go there and Shop. Bonus movie recommendation: Synecdoche, NY-- Super trippy and really really deep. Lots of symbolism. A thinking person's film. Beautifully filmed, perfectly acted, and ingeniously written! You will laugh, you will cry, you will say what the hell did I just watch, but you will love it. I believe the films message to be, "We are all unhappy in the same way, so don't let life pass you by dwelling on it."

Met 5 members of my arts and culture group at this very spacious Starbucks. Our order of a Dragon Drink (super delicious), a pistachio latte, a vanilla latte, and a dark roast was promptly delivered and happy consumed. Special mention: the macrame window treatments! The downside. Only one restroom was available. Caffeinated beverages + long wait times = slightly less happy campers.

An extraordinary retail plaza which I revered a ton. From a major and wide passageway to the apparel store and a major food court. Everything simply great and efficient. Each floor has client support, which you can request headings with the goal that you can't get lost. The solace room was available also that you could discover it without any problem.

The only thing worth seeing here is Second City; they tore down the historic Piper's Alley years ago and replaced it with a suburban-style shopping mall and parking garage. It's ugly, boring and undistinguished. Chicago has a real problem with historic preservation; they would tear down Versailles to build a shopping mall.

I wouldn't necessarily call this a "mall" per se, but it has a gym, a GNC, a sports store so it's a good go-to for the athlete in you. Second City and Chipotle is also here. Parking lot is available and validates for free at X-Sport if you're a member (you can probably sneak it in even if you're not).

Convenience is the top draw of this parking garage but the owners seem to not really care about the experience of their patrons. The stairwells are filthy and often reek of urine. The elevators are slow. Place needs a good scrubbing down. Second City, Starbucks and Chipotle are still top notch.

Tourists beware - this isn't a 'real' mall. It's just a buncha regular streets with shops and eateries. There is no actual mall, and we found out the hard way. We went inside the theater nearby and realized we'd been bamboozled. Still, it was a nice area to explore.

Second city is an awesome addition to this area! It can be confusing to tell the different venues apart. But thankfully anytime around when a show is going on, there are plenty of people around to direct you where you need to go.

  • MaryMaile

Mall? A covered alley with lots of history now homogenized into a clean indoor hallway with access to Starbucks, theater space, several restaurants & the. Second City comedy above accessed by the escalator /elevator at far end.

  • Robert Hansen

I've been here a few times specially to go see movies. It's always good to come here because I like what they do down here. All the Second City activity in the movie theater and everything. Close to public transportation.

  • Dionne Collins

I love going to Chipotle so there's a Chipotle location here that is easy for you to pick up your online orders by using the app a great place just to go to if you want to get Starbucks or even see a movie

  • Susan Edmondson

Went to see 2nd City improv show of guest performers in team config. Layout of facility was so easy to understand; food and parking on sight was definite bonus. Love this venue for small groups!

  • Bruce Bruce

It’s ok but the parking fees are a huge turn off. I would advise taking transportation or find parking on a side street but with this weather & reckless drivers be careful parking.

  • Mike Riley

I give it four because everything is not open yet in the mall. Only Utopian Tailgate and Roots Pizza is open at this time. Both place is very nice and cool to hangout at. …

  • Dj Blame

Great price for the amenities...I would have given it 5 stars, but the music that is played over the speaker is DEFINITELY too loud....I can barely hear my own headphone music

  • James Bernath

Looking to park in the city and spend all your money for said parking? Well, look no further. In fact, you won't be going any further because you just ran out of money.

  • Smevin Bravis

Basically in reference to the few shops inside the second city building. I would give it a three but it's just such an exciting place to be, I can't hate …

  • Michael Silver

Amazing entertainment here! Make sure you know what show to see though because there are tons and some might not be up your Piper's Alley (lol get it!)

  • Christine McWilliams

Just used the parking garage for an event. It was easy to see from the street, not to full and the attendent was friendly and very helpful.

  • Myles O'Hara

Nice spot in a bustling area. Second City is a great comedy club to go and visit if you can go! (Multiple entrances though... FYI!)

  • Ashley marvin

Pricey but not bad for chicago prices.Only place that had parking available when I was visiting pretty close to Lincoln Park Zoo.

  • Daunte Carter

A place open to all, including chess players. Great service, many plug outlets for your cell or laptop and computer nerds/geeks.

  • Rosa Castillo

I went to the comedy club. The garage was so dirty. It's a shame because I used to hang out at Pipers Alley with my friends.

  • Jason Lowe

Pretty good mall in middle of city. Didn't have cheap souvenir t-shirts we were looking for but is probably good for locals

  • Adam Sovereen

Not really a mall. Starbucks, xsport, chipotle, a theater, and a few small stores. This place isn't anything big or great.
