I've been to this establishment previously multiple times and had a good time until today. We rented a lane for bowling and the people next to us proceeded to express their political view to us. There was a specific female that pointed out " Look at my bowling name" here name was "Trump really won" I acknowledged by saying ok. I was surprised the manager allowed this and wrote the name in. After she realized we had ignored her, She continued her harassment by expressing " I guess you are triple vaccinated and you are still going to get COVID". We kept ignoring her until she started to get more aggressive. We complained to the manager Adam who is the one person in charge that is in control of appropriate representation of bowling names and what transpires at this establishment. He grabbed my friend by the elbow and requested we leave. We left to deescalate the situation but were sadden by the lack of action Adam took to defuse the hate crime we encountered. A sad day for a Plaza Midwood establishment from a proud LGBTQ resident.

Great place to have some fun and try a huge selection of beer, wine and sparklers all in one place. First of all, there was one guy basically covering both floors, and he was working hard and super friendly for a first time patron. Explained how everything worked, and then was also checking in with everyone as he worked through the space... excellent customer service! The ability to self pour and try as many different drinks as you want is great, no waiting for a bartender! The games, which range from board games to duck bowling and pinball, all look fun and easy to enjoy. I imagine if it was more crowded, the noise inside could be a bit overwhelming, but there is also a fantastic outdoor space, where they had a DJ and do concerts as well. Will definitely be back, especially for some of the events that they host. One tip, make sure when you scan your wristband, that all the taps are closed, otherwise liquid will start flowing immediately and it will charge you (learned this the hard way)

My new favorite hang-out spot in Plaza. My wife and I went last night for our first time... great atmosphere, solid beer selection, and the duckpin bowling was a blast (had never played it before) but it was easy to pick up. We played for a half-hour but easily could've played for a full hour. Especially with the beer taps being so lose to the lanes. I imagine it'd be even more fun with a group of say 4-8... we're definitely going to go back with a group. While we were a little concerned with how long we'd have to wait to get a lane, we actually didn't have to wait more than 15 minutes... Which we decided to spend upstairs sampling beers and lounging on the patio (they text you once a lane opens up). While things seemed to flow just fine with four lanes, I feel like having 2 more would be ideal for the real busy nights. Overall, awesome experience. Definitely a must-visit when in Plaza-Midwood. Rich and Drew did a great job with this!!

This is a spot in our neighborhood that we have been to a few times. Right after they reopened from COVID the beer was very old and stale and you could tell their taps hadn’t been turned over yet. The beer was likely sitting there for months. Despite this bad experience, we have gone back a few times. Last night we stopped in and I was very disrespected. I was approached by a guy who was very rude and was asked to leave because he said I stumbled. However, I am a clumsy person and tripped on my own feet. He wouldn’t even let me explain and jumped to conclusions despite my fiancé there vouching for me. I cannot get over how rude and disrespectful this encounter was. I will absolutely never be back and I will recommend none of my friends return as well. I had looked into having our wedding rehearsal there but after this situation that’s definitely not going to happen. Also.. it’s expensive so be wary of your pours.

This is a cool place. A date night kinda vibe. FREE BOWLING on Thursday. It's pin bowling. You create a tab with a wrist band and try different beers, ciders, wines and more with a wave of your wrist band. They is no food there tho ( but you can bring food in). Nice outside vibes with corn hole and seating. There are couches at the bowling lane. Kinda low but it works. There is more room upstairs with a decent vibe. With a stage and machine for karaoke ( on Thursdays.. idk about other days) more things to drink upstairs also. Someone was up there who helped me pick what I may like yo drink by asking me a couple of questions. About 3 rectangle High top tables upstairs and a lounge area where there are TVs. It pretty much open seating and an open floor plan. A nice place to meet others. I would definitely go back.

This place is incredible!!!! Usually much cheaper than a bar, you tend to pay $10-12 bucks for a craft double IPA that you may not even like because you wanted to explore a little... and can’t return it like at a bar, or $15-$18 bucks for a glass of wine... Here you can try EVERYTHING by the ounce before you pour a full glass and if you don’t enjoy it, the staff will help you out with your overall total bill. Definitely worth it. This place is so beautiful, and the self pour concept is exceptional by being able to be so independent and try everything! The staff is super friendly, as they just opened and are trying to get all the quarks out, if you mess up a pour or get a bunch of foam, they are there for you!!!! Lots of live music, trivia, kid friendly, and of course duck pin bowling!

We previously came here before for a Yelp event and then the pandemic struck and we haven't really been to any bars. We came here for the food truck that was here and grabbed a couple of drinks while we were here. We got the PinHoused & Sour Patch Margarita cocktails. They were ok, but nothing special to me. I'd probably stick to the self pour stuff. I love that they have duckpin bowling, though we didn't play on this visit. They have a really nice outdoor area too. This would be a great place for a happy hour since they have something for everyone.

They did a nice job with the interior and definitely a good selection of drinks of all types but that's where it ends. It was a Thursday night about 9pm and the place was pretty dead but the rap/hip-hop music was on full volume. Sitting on the couch with a friend and we literally had to shout. I don't get that as the place has more of a cocktail lounge vibe than a hip-hop club. Big turn-off! Also, being it is called the 'Pinhouse', I expected more than 4 bowling lanes. Lastly...the fruit flies/knats were everywhere! We put a glass of wine down and within minutes we counted 5 bugs floating in it. There's money and a drink i will never get back. Very disappointed with this place.

  • KM Foster

Loved the place, had a great time. The only thing we were a little disappointed in was when we wanted the bartender, they were almost always on the other floor. Not a huge deal cause they were really good about coming back quickly.

Probably not always a problem but the day we went, the front parking lot was closed off for a vendor fair. Most of the spots are for compact cars and we were in a family sized SUV with 6 people.

Although I truly miss Midwood Cleaners, Pinhouse has been a great addition to Plaza Midwood. I'm a big fan of the 'self pour' system they have here. You receive a digital wristband when you check in and you use that wristband on whatever tap you want. The taps have a good selection of local beers, domestic beers, and even wine! The taps can be finicky sometimes, but it's nowhere near a deal breaker. Pinhouse also has pin bowling (which is like mini bowling) and a lot of board games. There is seating indoors (both upstairs and downstairs) and outside. Overall, Pinhouse is a great place for a date night or going out with friends!

  • Koli Shultis

We stumbled across Pinhouse during our stay in Charlotte this past week. There didn't appear to be much open on a Tuesday afternoon, but I was happy we chose here to go! There was only one other couple inside and they were setting up for an event that evening. The man at the front door was super friendly and informative. We used our wrist bands to get as little or as much beer as we wanted, the couches were super comfy to sit on and the outside area (both upstairs and downstairs) was perfectly set up with seating and various places to eat. We will definitely be back! They need to open one in CT!!

  • Rah Giovanny

Went for the grand opening. It was cool, I personally like the outside area, but the prices are ridiculous. I'd rather go down the street to a bar for a few beers. Its not the kind of place I hang out at unless it's like a special event or maybe occasion. They don't have any food, the duckpin bowling I personally can live without, the kids had fun with it though. Other than that, not overly impressed, I'd rather throw back a few at Pour and slide over to Moo and Brew for a burger. Just my personal opinion, but hey, you might just love it. Either way check it out and see! IG: @prince.rashiem

  • Adele Deal

You guys need to reconsider your policies. 6pm on a Thursday and not a single customer in your place… and you just turned down a family of 4 for food, drinks and bowling. Why? I can take my kids to a regular bowling alley after 6pm. Did you notice you’re next to the largest kids park on the east side. Sorry we’re not your clientele, I guess. We live nearby and thought this could be our new regular weekly family night.. guess not. Came here on a Friday date night and you were likewise nearly empty. Maybe stop turning people away for arbitrary bull if you plan to stay in business.

  • Tyler F.

Favorite spot in Charlotte for a drink. They have a full bar and endless beer options. They host music bingo, karaoke, and trivia. Adam the manager and the staff rock. They have several TVs to watch all your favorite sports. They have comfortable seating to relax with your friends with a nice ambience. Check out their duckpin bowling and the fire-pit. Highly recommend.

I came here with a group of 7 people to experience all the self serve beers on tap and some duckpin bowling. Their overall setup had a cool vibe and perfect for even just sitting around with friends. There were so many beers on tap to choose from that it was almost overwhelming, but it was fantastic to try them. The bowling was also fun with plenty of seating and couches around to sit and relax. The pricing was reasonable and it would be a great spot for the warmer weather to play their outside games as well.

  • Kevin Bahrami

Be wary of how expensive this place is and they hide it from you! Came here for the first time recently and had 2 "rounds" of drinks (they load your wristband for a certain amount of pours by ounces) I probably only had 4 beers and very small amounts of their wines like rose and sangria and when you check out you still don't know what the charge is! You're forced to drop your wristband in a bucket for either 15 or 20% tip....forced! I had to check my account later and $52 for a few beers! Not coming back

  • Timeka Griffin

This was my first time but not my last. Friendly staff and a great atmosphere. Everything we ordered was perfect. They putine fries reminded me of my days in Jersey. The onion rings were cooked to perfection. They dry rub wings extra crispy delish. I also ordered the garlic parmesan fries. They were OK. What would have made it better, more parmesan cheese and melted almost like a sauce.

Its a very cool atmosphere. However the bartender is not friendly at all. She never has a smile. Always a frown and she is not very nice. She is the taller one. I really do not like dealing with her. She gives a what do you want now vibe. If i have to get service from her I will not be back.

We typically go during the day on Friday or Saturday. There is no one in the place. Love the duckpin bowling and darts. Very inexpensive. Nice change from the typical breweries. We bring out of town guests and always have a great time. Beautiful outdoor setting with fireplace too. Only complaint is there is only one staff member who has to run up and down the stairs to service bowling until mid afternoon.

This was our first time coming to Pinhouse, and Matt made the experience amazing! He was so engaged and ready to help us with anything we approached him about. His attitude and demeanor made us feel like this was (HIS) business, and he was on top of everything. The bar itself is of course great, and has a nice choice of decent priced beers/wine... But the amazing night was thanks to your employee, Matt specifically. GIVE HIM A RAISE !

  • Matthew Materne

Love this place always clean great atmosphere. Always a good time and plenty of games to play. Duck bowling, cornhole, darts, arcade 3pt shoot out. Also always have at least one of my favorite beers on tap! Also love Shayna Keefer she’s always polite and works super hard!

Great setting for gathering and connecting. Modern vibe with unique self serve pour system that allows you to pick your favorites or sample new brews, wines and hard ciders. Smart wristband does all the work of keeping your tab. Full disclosure with alcohol content, price per ounce and product info. Great opportunity to mingle at the taps. Duck pins inside and corn hole outside with a food truck tops off the fun.

  • Julie Abee

Great place, very cool concept. Not sure about the wrist band and being sanitary. So when you go there...you check-in and put down a credit card and get a wrist band that gives you access to the beer taps. Then at the end of your experience you return your wrist band in. From it looked like opening night those wrist bands get recycled without being washed. All I can think about is how gross those things must get.

I work at a competing uptown seafood place and I’ve not dined here yet but 10/10 I absolutely will. I called Shayna with a personal issue discovered in the parking lot that we had in the parking lot and within minutes she had it taken care of. This staff is very attentive and caring so I can’t wait to experience the actual restaurant if this is the service I receive as a non-patron.

What an amazing place! As first time visitors to Charlotte from Detroit, we had never heard of duckpin bowling. The staff was so gracious and he filled us in on all things Charlotte. Self serve taps were new to us too, great idea! I tried lots of different ones that I wouldn't normally have been able to. We ended up staying for Mingo too, we will definitely recommend anyone to stop here and enjoy!

  • Jenny Cheek

First time visitors, and we really enjoyed it. Host was super friendly and answered all my questions. DJ had a great set list and read the audience pretty well. Biggest array of brews to try on tap, self-serve, and complimentary orange juice (amazing!). We came specifically for bowling, but a private event prevented us from doing so. We had a blast listening to the DJ instead.

  • Manisha Dorawala

We hosted a party at Pinhouse and it was a fantastic venue. Ashley was really helpful and ultra responsive with getting all the details set, and Matthew was so great to work with on the night of the party. It’s a unique setting with fun live music, and the indoor/outdoor option thanks to the garage opening made it a perfect venue that more people should check out!

  • Customer Care

Great atmosphere and vibe but this was the WORST old fashioned I have ever had in my life. - Soda water X - Maraschino Cherry (Use Luxardo) X - Sonic style ice X - muddled orange, lemon and cherry XXX At $17 this thing should be perfect! For the love of cocktails please teach your staff how to make a proper old fashioned.

solid plaza midwood location with excellent outdoor option including patio overlooking park. downstairs w pin bowling was very loud. bummer they didn't know how taps were organized, approx 40% taps offline, lots of "stuff" you hope ownership would have reviewed with team in advance. worth a visit with positive outlook on thinking kinks will get worked out.

  • Dave Dougherty

Pinhouse is a great addition to Plaza Midwood. The atmosphere is fantastic. The employees were very welcoming. Beer selection was excellent. We had a birthday gathering, they were very accommodating and helpful. Only drawback is that the non- alcohol selection is nearly non existent. Except for the variety of games, it's not great for bringing the kids.

  • Derrick Fitzgerald

Nice setting and atmosphere but there we’re very few games, prices were extremely high for non tap drinks, and only one person working that had to handle at least 3 different jobs so the service was fair. You add to it that a 20% gratuity is automatically added in I wouldn’t suggest going and I won’t be back.

Tons of wheat beers which was right up my alley. They have a lot of beer options as well as bowling and an awesome outside area with bags. This was the first place where I scanned a little wrist band and poured my own beer. Was a good experience and staff was super nice and helpful. They also let you order food or bring your own in which is sweet.

  • Kim RoSser

What a cool innovative place for drinks. No trying to get the bartender's attention or waiting in line. Just fill it yourself. Then turn your bracelet in at the end of the night. How many times have you left your credit card at the bar? With this system that doesn't happen. Great place to hang out for drinks and don't forget to bring your dogs.

We had such a great time for a Thursday night! Adam was very welcoming from the moment we walked through the door! The atmosphere was amazing! So far, Pinhouse is a nice new establishment set with bowling, dksting, games and other nostalgic fun attractions. They hosted a 90s party that had a great dj playing the best tunes from that era. I love the draft spouts located around the venue. Aside from on demand pouring, they serve as a unique interior design in the space.

  • Eric Cunningham

My friend brought me here after leaving the tennis courts very nice place welcoming attitude and easy to navigate throughout I would highly recommend for drinks. I hate i didn't come here with her before no cash bring your credit card for the neat bracelet to get your beverages. Clean and smells good in there nice patio veiw

  • Charles A. III

Great taphouse in Plaza. Even though all taps weren't on I still found a nice variety of good sours. The establishment itself is great. Awesome layout with indoor and outdoor seating. Downstairs was definently VERY loud (maybe some sound panels on the ceiling to kill it alittle.) Thanks and we will see you again soon!

  • Allyssa Kelley

Chill aesthetic, great tap selection, and fantastic variety of seating options/activities. Both times I've gone, there's only been the one same gentleman(tall/thin/dark hair) who was on duty and though I haven't caught his name, he has been nothing but kind, helpful, and awesome! Definitely a place to visit!

This place is fantastic. We will be back. Great vibes, spacious digs, excellent beer selection from every local brewery and more. Pick your poison... Pinbowling (albeit a little expensive @ $15 per 30 minutes), outdoor yard & patio just more perks to fall in love with. New favorite spot for a Midwooder.

  • Lauren M

They water down their drinks, I had 2 pretty quickly as I was only going to be there a short while and I only felt like I had one. This place is good for the duck bowling but other than that I wouldn't recommend. You're tipping someone who's not really assisting you and drinking watered-down drinks.

  • Philip Grotto

Great place with even greater beer selection. The multi-level floors are filled with an inviting atmosphere and most importantly Pin Bowling! The outside section is a nice place to relax enjoy a cold beer. Staff has always been very nice and they keep everything clean and tidy. 5 stars for Pinhouse!

  • Bryant Warhurst

This is a great place to check out with a group of friends. They have a great selection of beers and ciders, though if those aren't your thing, then you can always go for a cocktail. They have a nice little selection of games to play with your friends as well while enjoying the aforementioned drinks

  • Oliver Manalac

Glad to have this kind of establishment in the neighborhood. You get to select a beverage of choice at the quantity you want. While breweries like Resident Culture, Legion and Pilot definitely have their appeal (and I will continue to patronize them), this place will continue to be in my rotation.

  • Holly Witter

Love Pinhouse and it’s always a must do whenever we’re in Charlotte. Duck bowling is fun and well-priced, and we love the self-pour taps. They also have a great little outdoor area with cornhole. They were even so nice as to let us bring our dog inside with us while we bowled.

  • Fatimah Harrell

I’m not sure of the man’s name of who helped us but he was AWESOME ! We learned so much about the place! We even got a little tour! Also the young lady at the front desk was welcoming and friendly! The place is absolutely BEAUTIFUL and clean! We will for sure be back for sure!

  • Raymond Lowe

The vibe and appeal of this place is already an attraction, but when you throw in the cool and easy going personality of the staff, you have a winner. Mix that all with Duckpin Bowling and an easy to use self-service beer option with 72 taps, and you have an instant must.

  • Jesse Flora (#jfloradigital)

A little crowded for my taste but the place is AWESOME!! Super easy process for pouring your own beer, mini bowling lanes, corn hole, great atmosphere and delicious food!! Highly recommend, but I would venture out on a down night if you want to avoid big crowds

  • Ryan Price

Had our engagement party here and the staff and place was awesome. Came back for fun and always the best atmosphere and staff is always helpful and professional. The owner thinks he is good at cornhole but he is average at best. Definitely reckons coming here.

  • Camille K

Fun place. Neat addition to the neighborhood. Cider was yummy. Neat to try different kinds without having to order a full glass. Would love to have more non-alcoholic choices and more snacks for those of us who dont drink or might be the designated driver.

This is a super cool spot. You get to pour your own beer & wine & they charge you by the ounce. They also have tons of games and activities. It is a small space so I'm sure it gets crowded quickly. However, I have been lucky to go on their slower days.

  • allaura Sanchez

Good Energy, nice variety of drinks and games to play. Nice place to go with a group of friends. They don't serve food, but they do have a restaurant next door. Parking is very limited. I recommend taking a car service there if you can. I'd come back.

  • Kristina Cipriano

If you advertise shots are $3 why would you charge a $6 mixing fee on top of that to some people in a group but not others? I paid $9 for one shot while my friends paid $3 for the same shot. The girl who checked me out did not have an answer.

  • Sherri Freeman

We went to Pinhoise on 4/28 just to hangout and celebrate my friend’s 50th birthday. The entire experience was awesome! The food and drinks were reasonably priced as well as delicious!! The deejay was pretty good too. We will be returning!!

  • K B

Cool place. The mini bowling is cool and the outside area is super dope! The music just doesn’t match the vibe and they turn it off early and it’s not loud outside so it messes with the vibe of the place. Hopefully they change that soon..

It was smaller than expected. No music, I didn't see any food. The Cutting board was closed. Seems like they were having a private party. For a Saturday night I was very disappointed.

This place is super fun with a cool layout. Great spot to kickback. We thought their customer service was outstanding. Great and helpful employees who care about what they do. Thanks!

I had a great time. There were plenty of activities to do. There was space to just chill and relax with a drink. The food was good and came out hot. I would definitely come back.

Adam, Russ and the entire team are simply great to work with. Space is lovely and conducive for innovative and playful events. We are looking forward to doing a graduation there.

Fun place! Super nice staff and a great assortment of beer, wine and cider. There are lots of free games there to play, including cornhole and bowling, plus lots of board games.

  • Stephanie Roller

Great place for a variety of choices to drink! They have cocktails, as well as any style of beer you are looking for. I'm a big cider/sour person, and they have so many options

Saturday mornings I often do yoga here. BUT regularly I come her to drink, socialize and a bit of bowling. Such a cool place to hang with friends.

The place was almost dead on Sunday evening making it easy to play duckpin! Staff was friendly and didn't make us feel rushed. Easy self-pour system with plenty of options.

Pretty cool place with a nice patio and relaxed atmosphere just wish they had a few more selections for the non-beer drinkers but it was totally fun and would go again

Just a fun chill space to hang out with friends. Self pour is the way to go, no waiting for someone to take your order. Nice outside space as well, upper and lower.

First time here, and I had a ball. Drinks on point and bowling waa such fun.

Super cool, modern space. The mini bowling is a cool concept and I love the idea of being able to try a bunch of different beers without having to wait in line

Come for the beers, stay for the trivia. Another cool "pour yourself" place, you'll find lots of local flavors here without the crowd of Hoppin in Southend.

We had our Wedding Welcome Party here. The service was great and the guests loved being able to try different beers.

A great local brewery place in charlotte. There’s multiple beverages to choose from and great outside spot and don’t forget about the indoor activities.

Cool spot in Plaza Midwood with duck pin bowling and lots of beer on tap. Indoor and outdoor spaces and a food truck. Parking in front and back.
