The weather was great and it was a really nice atmoshpere with the kids.... The male who served me was on his mobile phone whilst serving me asking me to repeat what i wanted and completely disinterested in what i was ordering... When we ordered our food the female there was also disinterested and rude. I didn't realise straight away, but when i went back to her advise that she had overcharged me, she rudely said "Well, that's what the till said", i then had to show her the menu, she shrugged and then gave me the difference from the till. We ordered the bucket of mussels, that came in a bowl with 2 small pieces of bread; i would say maybe 20 mussels, not even sure if that is the new norm or not, but i certainly was not a bucket nor for the $34 what we have ever received at other places. We also ordered some fries; they were undercooked and white. It is a shame that the industry is wanting us to spend money as so many people and businesses are suffering, but when you have people treat you so poorly as the customer you may as well save your money and stay indoors.
Started out nice with good beach views and reasonable priced drinks. Tip avoid the front tables late afternoon. as the sun sets the glare is very strong. But great view ar sun set Some bar staff service was ordinary but it's hard to always get th right staff. Ordered food and after 1hour we asked if there was a problem with our order. Was told that the order did not go through and we would get our meals in the next 10 minutes. 30 minutes later still no meals and manager gave an excuse about a power outage between kitchen and bar. The manager did compt us the meals and a round of drinks. At the end average meals came out very staggered with no cutlery to be found.
Made an online reservation, got to Pier Bar, and was told to go next door to The Coast Restaurant.... waited a for for service to be seated, and after a period of time, had to wave a staff member for attention. Seated, menu options were limited, service was slow and required the need to get their attention, drinks took a long time to arrive, food took a long time and was poor quality. I rate highly yep staff members Daniel & Shamin, not only were they working hard the night before but also working early next morning and doing their best to hold the reputation of the Peir Bar in high regard. Their service was faultless and apologetic.
Only thing good about them is the good view, which is from nature. The oysters were not fresh, half were grey looking and one even had YELLOW. The beef tatare and king fish was not fresh either you can tell the beef was marinated to cover the off taste of un fresh beef. Also A bit lazy with the presentation, they used Thins chips from like The supermartket, and then the king fish used those Ritz from Arnotts. Not really what I expected for the price I paid
The place was almost empty and it took an hour to cook a steak. When it came the medium cooked steak was tough and the chips old. I wish I looked at the reviews before I paid for this over priced meal. I expected better. (edit:this was two stars until I looked at my receipt. The steak I thought was $44 on the menu they charged me $45 and an extra $3.00 for the sauce that looked like it was included. Beware.
The worst restaurant experience of my life. Booking did not exist at the Pier Bar, told to check at the Coast restaurant next to the bar. After several minutes, waved down a staff member from the kitchen to get seated. Service was terrible, food was minuscule and not at all good. I literally went and got fish and chips after we left. I will never be back, and nor will all the people I will relay this too.
Layout was a little and odd and confusing but it’s a great spot with good views and decor. I loved the spiced toffee apple cocktail, definitely recommend it. It was so flavourful for such an interesting mix of flavours. It reminded me of spiced apple crumble. Food was just as good, my partner and I had the Lemon Pepper Squid. Squid was freshly and seasoned well, Chips hot and crispy, salad was generous.
Booked through the online booking system, received a confirmation email the day before only to be told that there was no table available for us. Told to go to the restaurant next door and see if the booking was there instead despite the email clearly saying the pier bar as the restaurant. Never even offered any sort of resolution except for feel free to sit at a table if you want. Won't be coming back
Always pop in here when I want a change from the grand and it's always quieter, which I don't understand because it's a great place to go. Beer range is good, staff are excellent and place is a great place to drink and watch the beach. Pirate Life is only $9 which is cheaper than other places.
Good spot. Prime location. Good set up. Shame those behind the bar hate their jobs which reflected in poor customer service. Three stars for the food which was pleasantly good all things considering.
Great spot for a cheap drink. Nice view near the beach. Not the fanciest place but $7 pints speaks for itself. Maybe don’t come here on a first date but a few with your mates would go down great.
Beautiful ocean views great location and service. Friendly staff excellent food and extensive range of drinks. Entertainment is awesome with lots of large TV s available
Waited 20 minutes,no service,staff ignored me.when I asked a staff member if anyone is serving the bar.rude response.waited another 10 minutes.still no service.

Service is very slow the only thing that's going for it is an extensive beer menu and ocean views.
