A friend who is very knowledgeable about cars initially recommended Petty's as the 'only place he would trust' with his vehicles. After working with Andrew for the last several years, I wholeheartedly agree. As a single mom who knows very little about car repairs, I did not want to be taken advantage of. To the contrary. I am always given an estimate as to the repairs needed, with a full explanation. Also, Andrew has a way of explaining car issues in a way that is easy to understand and does not become impatient having to answer questions. The entire crew at Petty's is friendly and seem genuinely concerned for their clients. As an attorney, I feel very comfortable recommending them to anyone needing auto repairs--especially other women with minimal knowledge of auto mechanics. They always return calls promptly with a great attitude!

I take care of my cars. I was taking my Altima and Camry Hybrid to the dealers. I drive a lot and it was killing me. I found out about Pettey's Auto from some friends. What a change! And I'm not talking Spare Change! Andrew gives me great service, he gives me the straight scoop. For example; I purchased a set of tires from a local tire shop, NOT Pettey's the manager called me over to show me why I needed new struts, they had some oil residue on the shock. That was going to be $1400. I told the manager I would "get back to them". I spoke to Andrew Pettey, he said when you're due for the next service we'll check it out. He did and I saved $1400!! I didn't need struts. This is a family run shop Andrew and Karen are great, I guess that's why they've been in business 30 something years.

Love this place! I currently have my Lexus there, and it has a 2JZ-GTE VVT-i swap that another shop did. Unfortunately (and I knew this was coming after reviewing the car on my own time), I had the swap done at another shop in Santa Ana, which turned out to be a nightmare of a job. Justin (shop mechanic @ Pettey's) has gone over the entire car and worked with Andrew to provide me a list of everything that needs to be fixed. They prioritized the listing for me so that we could tackle the necessary items that needed to be fixed/replaced right off the bat. I am just relieved that my car is finally at a shop that isn't going to try and just take my money without providing quality work. There are way too many shops out there that will.

I've been taking my vehicles to Pettey's Auto Service for about 15 years now and have had nothing but 5-star service. Their work is nothing but top tier. Andrew and the techs Chuck & Justin are awesome, friendly and clearly experts. They're thorough and passionate about resolving car issues in a timely manner and in the most cost-effective way. It's hard to find an automobile repair place that you can trust. I have been trusting Petty Automotive to be my auto mechanic shop of choice. Remember you are trusting them with your lives. I finally have a mechanic I can trust, HELLO! You know what I mean, the one's that say --- well the wijjiyarm on the maniform is bent, and you need a new muffler bearing. RIGHT! Petty's Auto Service is Honest and fair priced. My friend recommended them and they have been going there for over 20 years. Took my Subaru in for a brake and turbo problem. They called me to let me know about how much it would be and about how much time it would take. Never once did they call to add more stuff that I didnt need. Nor did I feel like they were trying to take advantage of me cause I know nothing about cars and am a female. They made me feel like wanted to do a good job. And now my car runs perfect! Until I brake something else

It is honestly so hard to find mechanics who are honest, kind, affordable, and well-rounded in their knowledge but Pettey’s Auto checks all those boxes! Ask for Justin, he is one of the few Mechanics who still services classic Datsun 240z's and turbo Subaru's. He is also experienced with European luxury vehicles, and Japanese/Domestic vehicles and is a race mechanic/race driver.
