We visited PetCo on Sunday to pick up a guinea pig for our daughter. Her pet cockatiel died (we told her she flew away), and she had been so heartbroken, missing her friend. Of course, dad wanted to make her happy and that meant finding her a new friend. We are so happy to have come across Bailey. They were extremely helpful in helping us. Not only were they helpful in assisting us with picking out the newest members (yes members, guinea pigs are herd animals, so we needed to pick two out) of our family, picking out the items they'd need at home so they would be happy and healthy, but they were also very knowledgeable about the guinea pigs. They were very sweet and patient with mine and my husband's various questions and did not hesitate to take time from stocking items to help us pick out all we needed and explain the care process for the piggies. If you visit this location, I hope Bailey is there to assist you! They definitely made this trip/purchase easy!
I’ve taken my dog here once before for a haircut, although they did a fine job then. The next appointment was far from that. I wish I could review the actual haircut but that would mean being able to go to said haircut. I schedule the appointment back in august for early October. I was sent 3 confirmation emails as well as a text the day before the appointment to confirm my appointment for the next day. About an hour or so later, I received a call (again the day before me appointment) saying I would need to reschedule or cancel the appointment because they would not be able to do the haircut before closing. I truly do not see why this could not have been said earlier as the appointment was scheduled over a month in advance. I will not be taking me dog back for this Petco, I don’t see how I could trust my dog at a plave that can’t even properly keep track of appointments. Don’t run the risk. Find a better groomer, it is worth the $10 extra dollars.

This Pet shop seems to be worried about only the proper housing or caging of the animals that they are selling versus the proper feeding and diets the animals require and I believe they sometimes are far more worried about sales and bonuses they get for the sale and not as worried TRUELY about the pets proper diet the food sometimes they recommend is only to sustain the pet, they aren't feeding pets the proper diets and I wasnt properly informed of the pet they are sold to me I found out that hamsters are ominvores. Animals are true living beings them self and deserve the proper nutrition as well especially if they are being housed as pets.
I went in looking for some more fish friends and I was pleasantly impressed that all the fish tanks were clean and that all the fish looked healthy. I had just left from Petsmart where there were piles of dead fish and algae all over the tanks. Tim assisted me with my selection and I really appreciated that he asked me about my tank sizes and how many I had. As a zoologist, I frequently tell people the importance of proper tank sizes, so I really appreciated that he asked. Especially since I was getting goldfish (they’re doing great in my pond!). He was pleasant and very quickly grabbed all the fish, and was patient enough to grab the ones that I wanted out of the tanks. I could tell that he really cared about doing a good job, and I can’t remember the last time I had such good customer service at a petshop, so big props to Tim! I will definitely be back!
Very poor customer service when I went to return an item, which I had purchased and had forgotten to ask for the receipt as it was store closing time. The item did not fit my kitten and I went to return it, they rudely told me item cannot be returned without receipt or Petco account, which I was fine with following the store policy. I even explained them what happened and I had all the tags and item in new condition and also had my credit card charge which I could show them. The cashier understood my problem but the store manager was extremely rude. I was not arguing or demanding for the refund. They could have talked to me nicely too, however they treated me like someone who was trying to get the money back from them without reason. I used to love Petco as I have 2 cats; however this was really bad service.
I came in right before the store was closing and desperately needed something for my dog, Shadow, who is my baby, to help alleviate her discomfort and itch from a hotspot. I had no clue what I needed and a man and young woman came up to me to tell me the store was about to close. The man just wanted to hurry and get me out but the young lady took the time to help me pick what medicine to get and helped me pick a cone for her head. The girl said she was new there and gave me her opinion based on her dog and what products she had liked. She was really wonderful and one you want to keep around for a long time
Don't bother to spend hard earned money in this WAY OVER PRICED STORE ! Walked in with my daughters and their children. A worker went up to my grandchild and "snatched" an item out of his hands. She then went to my granddaughter and started on her about touching the cat litter. They are both only 6. My granddaughter is also autistic. My daughter came to me and tried to explain what had happened. The worker ran up to us (interrupted)and tried to deny everything. Very unpleasant. Very unprofessional. Oh yes and they charge for bags. The cashier was sure to tell me ALL STORES DO THIS NOW ! Horrible place
We went into Petco interested in taking home a sweet little hamster. Jennifer kindly stopped everything she was doing to help us through the entire process of purchasing and owning a hammy and helped us find everything we needed to make her happy in her new home! We signed up for Vital Care Premier rewards which she also talked us through and we will now be exclusively getting everything we need at this Petco! Great experience! I disappointed with Grooming dept. I keep getting appointments when I get there they telling that I cancel appointments, which i have not cancel any I was using their app. The manager could have looked into to see if there a computer glitch. No apparently I cancel 5 times not want to groom my puppy. I have not cancel and I would not be wasting my time traveling with my dog to store if I cancel. The Grooming staff is not polite. Good luck. The Vet teams is wonderful.
The owner does not want to contact me regarding my dog falling off the grooming platform and almost being hanged from the collar they put around the dogs neck while sitting on the platform! (Michelle) was the groomer at the time of this incident. I stood there and so did the other groomer (Katie) to witness this happen! They have cameras I know from talking to corporate and if I'm not contacted in some way, I'll be suing Petco! Arthur Lindsey
Ive recently gotten into fishkeeping and the employees all seem super helpful and friendly. The fish dept usually has the same person working (Will) has been very helpful and knowledgeable, they do a great job keeping them as healthy and clean as possible. I signed up for the monthly membership which helps save money off my purchaces, which is nice, because the beginning of a hyperfixation is the most costly part.
Visited Tuesday evening and while checking out the manager needed to come to the register to change the price of a discount item. The manager then proceeded to talk about us to the cashier without acknowledging us. When I spoke directly to her, as she was standing right in front of me, she completely ignored me. We were not upset or being rude, so it was very odd. The manager has zero customer service skills.
I wouldn't take my dog here for grooming again. The groomer didn't know what she was doing. I showed her a picture of the cut I wanted and I wanted a round face. It didn't look at all like what I wanted. The hair on the head was uneven. I'll have to redo it myself. She also didn't even touch the hair between the paws. Don't take your dog here for grooming. Seriously!
Don't buy animals from here! Spent $160 on a hairless guinea pig that lived for only 10 days. Was sent a digital receipt with all the information from the paper one and they refuse to refund. It's disingenuous to present it as one and call it something else when there is an issue. That is proof of purchase and they know this and that is what they are counting on.

I've had my fair share of pet shop experiences, and this was by far the best one. We purchased a crimson giant day gecko, and the staff was very helpful. We were helped by Tim, Joanne, and Jennifer, all of whom were very helpful and kind. They gave us plenty of advice on what to do and we had good laughs throughout the purchase.
My dog is a rescue who had been abused. He been coming to petco grooming for 7 years and has had nothing but positive experiences which have helped him trust and gain confidence socially. He gets excited when we walk in the door and gives kissed to his groomers. The staff is always pleasant and friendly and kind towards my boy.
Went in for a recut because he was butchered in March. Store manager agreed on a free cut. Grooming manager refused me and told me never to come back. She was so rude. She said she didn’t care what the store manager said, he wasn’t grooming the dog. I would like a refund from the first cut so I can take home somewhere else
Been to Southside location 2 times within 2 days for chihuahua nail clip, 1st time stated needed updated records, 2nd time told to walk around or leave will help within 20 mins. Driving 30 mins west to go to Speedway Location reps show consideration will never go to South location again
Booked appointments for 2 dogs 3 weeks in advance. Showed up and they told me they could take one of the two dogs because they prioritized same day appointments. I reminded them I booked this appointment 3 weeks ago and they basically told me “too bad”. I walked out. So unprofessional.
It was awesome ! The worker there was very knowledgeable and helpful about the lizard my son wanted to get. She gave him the pros and the cons and literally educated him on the care of it versus just letting him buy it and not give him any information about it. She was very helpful.
I always get what I need and more. Found treats on sale for half off. Got to the register and the nice woman told me they were even cheaper!!! 40 dollar box of treats 10 bucks!!! She allowed me to run back and clear the shelf!!!! Definitely a great experience! Thank you!!!!
The employees are fairly helpful, the selection is decent. On the other hand there's no discernible organizational system as you can find dog products throughout several aisles seemingly at random, and the prices are steep. Not a bad place, but you are paying premium.
Great customer service but they have the small kennels priced $10 less then a large kennel. At least that was the case when I was there a couple weeks ago. The price was also like $70 for a kennel for a dog that is 11 lbs. Seems a bit much. Just my option anyway
We took out dog there to get shots from a mobile vet. I got some bones and s couple tots while there, they had some by the check out squeaky animals. My dog loves them, and tried a couple bones, haven't seen them so they must have been good
Manager could not figure out what 75%off 5.00 was. Then she tried to tell me that it should be off the full retail price and not the ticket price. I finally left. I will call corporate Monday.
Excellent selection of cat food. Both TikiCat & Nulo had a VARIETY of options. Both are great healthy foods that my cats actually eat. Also there were some cute (but stinky) ferrets!
This store seems very unkept and messy. It also doesn't smell very fresh. The whole time we were in there shopping, not one employee came up to us and asked if we needed anything.
Great friendly staff. I was greeted and thanked upon completion of my transaction. They had the Vetco vaccination group there that day. Kudos for this visit.

Recommend them over Petsmart and Uncle Bill's. Prices are better and the staff is much friendlier than Uncle Bills.
