An absolute institution of North Adelaide. It was slinging baked wares well before my parents were conceived and hopefully will still be doing so after I am long gone. The pasties are arguably the best in adelaide, they aren’t quite up to their prime from around 15 years ago but hands down the best beesting in adelaide and the cheese and onion sourdough is the greatest bread I have ever had the pleasure of consuming. The only pity is they only offer the sourdough on Saturdays. An excellent kids playground is at the end of the street a great excuse for a bakery picnic outing when the kids are sick of toast.

Unfortunately another bad experience over we don’t have cream available and once I state in a firm and respectful manner I’ve had this done a dozen times in a takeaway cup in the past and happy to pay for it. The answer is no we don’t do it .. i take objection and the lack of customer service pay for my water , and as I’m leave a bald fella in a sarcastic condescending voice says which had no interaction with me not one word, says “have a nice day”.. what a weak gentleman or in other words a “smart arse” and I told so .. Should have got some pouring cream in a take away cup instead of being a passive aggressive individual, how pathetic. Make sure you Let the boss know. This is not another cranky customer called Karen.. very disappointed

I used to go to this bakery fairly regularly when I lived in the area, and decided to drop in today with my daughter while visiting the park. The meat pie I had was the best I've tasted in a long time and coffee was great, but the service was very disappointing and unfortunately soured the taste. The woman who served me first off treated me like I was stupid when I asked a simple question about a product and was very abrupt in all her responses with me. Thankfully the second woman (shorter of the two) was very pleasant, but the whole experience made both myself and my daughter very uncomfortable, which is really disappointing considering the food is so good!

Lovely Bakery with seating outside. Delicious mini pies, pastries, cakes, breads and more. Friendly staff and great service offered by Alex. I enjoyed a Danish Custard pastry (OMG amazing sweetness) with a mug of Earl Grey tea and was given a complimentary mini Gingerbread Man :) It smells delicious in this Bakery! With a good variety of baked goods. There is a small bench inside and a few tables outside. No Wheelchair ♿ access due to the small entrance (original half double doors) but you can access the outside dining area. Watch out for the birds, they will steal your food if left unattended! I highly recommend you visit this Bakery.

Our family have enjoyed Perryman's Bakery for the past 35+ years. Even after leaving North Adelaide we have regularly returned to partake of their delicious baked goods. The service is usually pleasant but on Thursday the 10th of June we were subjected to disgusting attitude when pointing out that a mistake had been made with our order. There were two people serving, one was lovely, the other with ? darker reddish hair who took and served our order needs a personality transplant and customer service training. This experience was extremely upsetting and took away our appetites.

Best little meat pies around. - One of the best bakeries around. I love the small pies and pasties. Means can have some variety and not feel bloated. It is positioned in a lovely little building in a side street in North Adelaide. They have been able to set up some tables outside, lovely spot to sit in to enjoy a hot pie. They also have a wide range of cakes for deserts. From donuts to Danish, all is delicious. I find the prices reasonable for what you get. Staff are friendly but most importantly efficient. Even when lined up out the door, they are quick to serve everybody.

  • Happy Mummy

Absolutely delicious baked goods, superior to any other I've found in Adelaide. The large beef pie is substantial, with an excellent meat to pastry ratio, unlike most others (finally, a decent protein content). But please, your beef pies sell out early every day, while loads of sausage rolls, pasties and other pies still fill the shelves. Why won't you adjust to the demand? Please, make more pies! To line up for a while, only to find out the one thing you want is already sold out by 12pm, you can do better! I have seen other people disappointed by this too.

Outrageously good. Nice over pepper pie there's a mush better option. Heck. Back to the good old days, perfect pastry and incredible fillings. I hadn't been in yay because the quality had changed, but now, the whole shebang. I'll be back for the Rye bread, mushroom pie, pepper pie and chocolate donut. PS, the pepper pie is spicy, you've been warned, don't order it and then complain, it's delicious. If you can't handle the heat, order a plain pie and shake a pepper grinder near it. Thanks Perrymans I'll be back.

Being British we grew up getting fresh tin loaves and Perryman's delivers on a nostalgic tin loaf. The fact that they are open to orders just about 24/7 year round and provide a fantastic array of products - vanilla slices are deadly by the way - you cannot beat their bread, service, and pricing is very competitive. Congrats to a great company, many would do well to follow their example if they want to increase their business you have to be open - a novel idea Adelaide businesses and the Council.

  • Chris Board

The bread here must have changed because the quality has dipped hard. The shape of the bread has dipped and is torn 9 times outta ten. Managed to get an amazing loaf the other Saturday a few weeks back. Hope they stick to the old way as the new bread just dosnt look right. Will only be coming in on Saturdays as it seems the bread is amazing on this day!!

My go to coffee shop! There is normally a bit waiting time at lunch time but at other times, it's usually fairly quick. They have a good variety of food and drinks. Recommend their custard Danish and Swiss roll if you like sweets. I like their plain bread rolls, iced latte and coffee. They even put a small gingerbreadman on your coffee. How cute is that!

  • Florence Lang

Small and overpriced items. Have been overcharged on occasion. One time I asked for a bread roll in a basket that had the price on it; they charged me more because it was bigger than the small rolls in the basket. If you're going to have two sizes of bread rolls in the same basket, you should display both prices. There are better bakeries nearby.

  • Kelly Mearns

Must be the best bakery in Adelaide! The food is so fresh and the taste is so good you just know high quality ingredients have been used. My favourite bakery by far.

My mother gets a loaf every week , this week it was misshaped and undercooked she came home Wednesday to discover that it wasn't the same good tasting bread and tasted horrendous compared to how it had been in previous weeks. I am dissapointed as my Lovley old mum loves fresh baked bread and this time it wasn't even baked !

  • Loretta Battistella

Decided to have a Perryman pasty today something I rarely indulge in. It was very disappointing. The mixture inside the pasty was mainly potato, but the pastry was so blonde I questioned whether or not it was cooked. As I hardly ever indulge in this type of food I was extremely disappointed and will never try them again.

  • Mick M

A very nice bakery which takes you back to the early 1900s when this bakery was established. Had a great feel to it which adds the experience and food. We had coffees and beestings. Best beesting I've had. Not too rich or sickly. Staff was reasonably friendly and I really loved the complementary ginger bread persons.

  • Andrew B

Best meat pies and something you must try if you are in North Adelaide (get the mini ones). Gingerbread babies are the best- not too sweet with a nice flavour. Recently they are popping up at speciality food places (like Viba at Burnside shopping centre) Jam tarts also pretty good.

  • Bee Bear

Bought a 21st birthday cake for my sons birthday dinner and was very happy with it! The prices are very reasonable, it was a lovely vanilla sponge with jam and cream, beautifully decorated and the writing was really nice. All of our guests were impressed and enjoyed eating it!

  • Pamela Judge

Often bypass this place because one forgets it is there, but it is worth a visit. Good coffee on the go and decision of what to buy from extensive food range is a hard choice. Friendly staff and a surprise gingerbread man on top of my coffee lid makes that special difference.

  • Travis Z

I would shop at this bakery if i could. Unfortunately there are no hot food options for me. The bakery around the corner has much more to offer. Sorry, but your supply does not meet the demand. The two stars are for their bread. The best bread I have had. A good bread store.

  • Doug F

Had been coming here for years for the cheese and bacon pie but then after returning from interstate after 3 months they no longer do it… super disappointed but had the pepper steak pie and it was delicious but not the same. Bring back the bacon and cheese!

  • Dounia Dimachki

We stopped by the other day to get a sausage roll, and left there with other products as well… too good to resist The ciabatta loaf was delicious, as were the other goods. We’ll definitely be visiting more frequently. Keep doing what you’re doing guys!

  • Houssain Ghabra

We tried croissants (good but cold, wasn’t offered to toast it), cheese and veg pasty (good )and Cornish pasty (very fatty). Though sitting outside is beautiful, they don’t provide any plates, so it’s not really a sit down place, it’s more like on the go.

  • Brett Stawinski

Had another great lunch at the bakery. The Mushroom and Steak pie was very good with a moist sauce and nice pastry, my girlfriend loved her meat and veg pasty (no peas in it if that matter to you), and the apple danish was not too sweet and excellent!

  • Justin Ryan

Ordered a birthday cake with personalised message on it. They forgot to make it. Worst bakery ever!!! But wait, they messaged me later that day and offered to deliver the originally ordered cake free of charge the following day. It was delicious. Xx.

  • Rosie McGuinness

First class catering as usual. Enjoyed delicious cocktail pies, pasties and other savouries as well as sweet for a function last night. The profiteroles were to die for. Was hoping to take some home but all were devoured swiftly. Thanks Perryman’s.

  • Alex

I Absolutely adore corner bakeries, especially when they produce the goods these guys do. We purchased a loaf of bread, exceptionally fresh and tasty. We also purchased some sweet pastries, very delicious. Will be coming back for more.

  • Leanne Vuong

A favourite bakery in North Adelaide. Can always rely on their savouries and sweets. The fillings are substantial and made with quality ingredients, flavours never lacking, and bread & pastry always cooked through without being dry.

  • Craig Mcgair

Years ago people who stole bread were sent to Australia and I can bet it wasn't nearly as amazing as the ciabatta loaf from perrymans, if it was then I can see why. How lucky am I and nobody else will beat them, good work bakers!

  • Rob Mack

This Bakery has changed little since I first visited in the 1950's. Still excellent quality, a good range of products, friendly service and reasonable prices. They now have a few tables setup outside, a great way to enjoy lunch.

  • Carola Bradford

I adore this little bakery! What it lacks for indoor seating (there's only a few tables outside - isolation time or not), it's a very busy spot with a crowd always there when I have been and produces such delicious goods!

  • ANNE TORSIELLO

The Staff wonderful and caring team. 10/10 Totally amazing food. It would be the very best bakery in North Adelaide. There amazing Potato Pie absolutely delicious. There sweet so so fresh go wonderfully with a milkshake.

  • Daniel C

An Adelaide institution - turns out everyone knows this place and has fond memories of it. I'm lucky enough to get a lot of their bread and baked goods - and they're excellent. There's a reason people like them so much.

  • H L

Not bad in general and would be i star but the bread is epicly good, Nothing Gluten Free at all so hard when you have someone with you that needs GF. It is so so so so easy to make GF options so i assume just laziness☆

  • Jess

How can anyone leave a bad review for perrymans your all crazy!!! Only place ill eat a pie from and im fussy all the mini pastries are delicious & adorable. It's always a thrill going to perrymans artisan bakery …

  • Rachel Hosking

Amazing sweets and pastries that are always so fresh and high quality. Staff are super efficient and friendly. Also love their packaged goods (like the gingerbread baby biscuits) that make great little gifts!

  • Bob Cwiek

⚠️ I paid over $7 for the marinated lamb pie. I literally had 4 bits of fatty lamb meat and the rest of the pie was literally geleton/sloppy gravy. This is awful to charge so much and give rubbish in return.

  • Maxwell Millowick

Great local bakery in North Adelaide. Long history as my mother went to the local primary school and she told me she got her lunch there. The pies are great always fresh, and there is a good range of cakes

  • Lauz

Not really understanding the hype of this bakery sorry. I've ordered a few things here and they've been fine but just not worth the premium price + the rave reviews. I must be missing something...

  • David

I have travelled and resided in several states of Australia - and the Sourdough white bread here I feel is consistently the finest in all the kingdom. The staple of my life. It is excellence.

  • Vu Luc

Excellent boutique bakery for the savoury food. Love the thai chicken sausage rolls. Not a big fan of their sweet items. Nothing wrong with them, I just wished they'd use more fresh cream.

  • Dan Lane

Every day pastries , meat pies , pasties and sausage rolls are good , very good . Note for Christmas , mince pies especially the pastry you use .... worst I have ever tasted . Sorry .

  • Lisa

Great bakery. Delicious pies - for carnivores and vegetarians. Their sweet slices and pastries are super tempting. Bread, baguettes and family sized pies are available too …
