"Difficile à trouver le soir"
I stay at a lot of simple lodging while traveling, often at religious guesthouses or hostels. This one is very nice for this type of lodging. It's not a luxury hotel with all the amenities, no, but it actually does have a lot of amenities! Free parking lot (!), light breakfast included, and access to a kitchenette/fridge. Large building with a lot of common areas and rooms with seating. The chapel is lovely. I had a double bedroom with shared bathroom. The bed was very comfortable and the room was clean. There is a sink in the room so you don't need to use the shared bathroom as much as you might think. The bathrooms are along the hallway and there are a few different ones that you can pick from to us. The bathrooms were all clean and in good repair. I stayed here one night and then had reservations at a much more expensive hotel in Old Montréal for two nights - to be perfectly honest I would have been smarter to just stay here the whole time as the difference in price for the swanky hotel was certainly not worth it (though I did enjoy the hotel's central location more). But I am someone who travels solo a lot, doesn't mind simple housing, prefers cheaper options, and doesn't mind walking or taking public transit. If I return to Montréal I will certainly stay here again!

Safety
Seemed pretty safe, although I took greater care to secure belongings as it is more of a community environment/hostel than it is a hotel
Walkability
It's not super walkable except to the Oratory itself and to the immediate neighborhood. However if you are willing to use public transit it's fairly accessible to the metro and to bus stops.
Noteworthy details
Free parking!! Unheard of in the middle of the city. The lot by the pavilion is relatively small, however, and while they would likely let you park in one of the Oratory lots if it is full the current construction at the Oratory means that the other lots are fairly far away from the pavilion.

Great value
A place most suitable for any pilgrims visiting the Oratory of Saint Joseph! I went there winter time for an overnight stay. It was about a 5-10 minute walk away from the Oratory. The balcony in my room was beautiful even in the cold months, I can only imagine how nicer it would be in the spring and summer time. There's a chapel on the second floor, great place for morning and evening prayers. Amenities-wise, there's a parking lot in front and there's a common dining area with microwave, toaster, and hot water. They offer a mini breakfast on little baskets. I love how the rooms have a lot of sockets, has its personal ref and extra fan. The personal sink reminds me of a convent-style room, which I like--so accessible if you need to wash something. I chose to have a shared bathroom, but at the time it was reserved for me only, because there weren't many occupants. Check in time is between 1500 to 2200. Check out is at 1100. So happy with my stay, will surely come back :)

Great view, Quiet
Just came back from my first ever trip to Montréal and this hotel was perfect for our needs! Went with my youth group and the parking lot, and meeting rooms were convenient. The hotel itself is generally quiet, cozy, and has a sacred feel. Also the place is incredibly clean and well-mainted for the affordable price that they charge, thanks to to it being affiliated with St. Joseph's Oratory ⛪ (which is within walking distance). Put simply, the value you get from this place is unbeatable. Lastly, the Mont Royale views are amazing and the hotel is located within 10km from the city center which is not bad :) Only downside are that all rooms on each floor have one shared washroom, but surprisingly this was less annoying that I had expected during my stay.

Difficile à trouver le soir. Mais avec un bon taxi, c'est faisable. Accueil aimable.

Good and economical place to consider staying for a pilgrimage, as we did. There is some crumbling infrastructure when we went though, for example, broken water supplies. It is not entirely clean as well. At the same time, the staff had a mess up with occupancy by neglecting another group. Fortunately they had kind staff who deeply apologized for their confusion and literally compensated us with bananas!
Great place really clean peaceful affordable price Really nice people specially the receptionist Thank you

Great experience to go for scenery, peace, meditation & prayer. Went with 10 other people & really enjoyed it. A must go to place at least tey it. St Joseph's Oratory od Mount Royal is definitely a MUST. Enjoy.

Not a good place to stay if you travel with kids.Always remember it's not a hotel.Lots of rules to follow.People are friendly there but it's not a good idea to stay there with kids.
I wanted to do a review of the CHSLD Jean XXIII which has been closed by the Quebec Ombudsman may 4th 2018, not a review of this place which I have no idea if its good or bad.
