We joined PGP two years ago when our eldest started in Y3, moving from the state sector, and we loved it so much we moved our younger son in Y2 last year rather than wait another year. We looked at numerous local private schools and felt that this hidden gem was ideal for our sons. It’s rigorous enough to satisfy our learning expectations without creating a stressful environment for the boys. The small class sizes mean teachers can really get to know their students and, in turn, children feel nurtured and valued. With subjects, such as English and Maths, streamed in KS2 so that the children are in even smaller groups, so much more, effective, learning is possible without a noisy environment to contend against. Given its size all the children and teachers know each other and there really is a great community feel when one attends assemblies or performances. We have been nothing but impressed by the school, this ranges from admin staff to teachers. There is a constant “can do” positive attitude that permeates it’s culture and I have found that there is clear and prompt communication between the school and parents. For example, pre-Corona, parents were allowed to come in on Friday mornings, during registration, to look through their children’s books and teachers are happy to give feedback/ suggestions throughout the term so the first you hear about any issues will not be at parents’ evening. We were particularly blown away by the way in which the school responded and adapted to the pressures put upon it as a result of Covid-19, especially when compared against other private schools offering nothing near the level we enjoyed. What a rollercoaster of a first year for the Head, Mr Faulkner! Hats off to him and all the amazing teachers! Teaching continued throughout the period, using a variety of IT based resources. Every teacher I saw or heard on Zoom, whether form teachers or specialist, were exemplary in their interactions with the children. As we all now know it’s exhausting to hold meetings on Zoom but they were faultless in the way they taught the children and never revealed exhaustion or stress. PGP responded quickly to parents’ concerns and were open to adapting to suit particular classes. The traditional curriculum continued as did additional subjects, such as art, music and PE which all help round and balance the children and remind them that normally learning is in all areas and there was no reason not to continue in this way. They even continued with assemblies and weekly merit certificates to keep up the whole school morale. I was also impressed that they maintained their pastoral role, ensuring that children’s mental health wasn’t ignored. I see that they will be holding mindfulness sessions in the Autumn term. As with other private schools they offer great pre and post school clubs as well as additional lessons, such as music and LAMDA, that are organised through the day. We can only go on our experience but we would certainly recommend checking it out and hopefully you’ll be as impressed as we were!

Having dissected the Good Schools Guide Book and been on multiple school Open Days, I agonised over which school would be best. We wanted co-Ed. We wanted polished teachers, who excelled in their posts, but also kind, patient and fun! We wanted an environment where our children would be accepted and supported, so that whatever their abilities and interests turned out to be, they would be valued and nurtured to achieve their best. But most of all, we wanted them to be happy, to find their confidence in the classroom and to feel positively engaged with learning. After much consideration, we chose PGP and I am extremely grateful for that decision. Both my children (going into Year 1 and Year 2 in Sept) are thriving at PGP. Their Reading, Writing and Maths, is rapidly progressing! The world of Science and Technology has revealed two little scientists. Their confidence has grown in many respects, among others sport and team-work, which I sense has been a result of the competitive House Day activities. In essence, THEY LOVE THEIR SCHOOL! So far, our teachers have been diligent, competent and kind and I couldn’t have asked for a better start to school life. Of course, no review in 2020 would be complete without a reference to “lock-down”! The remote learning programme from PGP was outstanding. With just the Easter holidays to pull together a platform, they excelled under pressure and quite remarkably delivered a very effective classroom through Zoom with accompanying materials. The most telling part of this process, which provides a real look-through to the attitude of management was their eagerness to receive and act upon feedback from parents. This collaborative approach was key to the remote learning success. In summary, PGP is an exceptional school, with excellent teaching and facilities (did I mention the outdoor space?! In London!) full of confident, happy children, reaching their potential. Leavers destinations are in line with peers and over the past two years over 20% of children being awarded academic scholarships. I highly recommend this school!

A truly wonderful prep school where the children are cared for in a kind and nurturing environment. The teachers and headmaster were fantastic through lockdown when home schooling became the new normal. Days were structured and hands held but they recognised the difficulty parents had with balancing work and childcare and adapted to parents and children’s needs accordingly. The school, children and parents got through those difficult times together because we listened to each other and cared for each other, as a community, and we are all closer for it. The children always go to school happy and leave the same way and mums and dads only ever seem to have positive things to say about PGP. The opportunity to grow and thrive is here and the children are always encouraged to do so.

PGP is a real gem of a school: it has a warm, nurturing feeling and a strong community of local families, plus enough green space for the kids to run around outside. It's secret is to bring out the best in its kids by creating a happy, stimulating environment in which they love to learn. To do this, it focuses on not just academic growth but emotional growth and resilience, both increasingly important attributes in an uncertain world. As a result, its kids go on to the right school for them: be that Putney High or Latymer Upper or St James School for girls. If you're looking for a school that will help produce a well-rounded, happy child who achieves to the best of their ability without undue stress, this is the school for you.

My daughter has been attending PGP for two years and absolutely loves it. We are an American expat family and we wanted a small school with a friendly atmosphere for our daughter. Her teachers in Reception and Year 1 have been amazing and have helped shape her into a well rounded student. During the national lockdown, the school asked and listened to parents’ feedback in regards to home schooling and the students benefited from a balanced online learning schedule. The school was in frequent communication with the parents and was able to bring all year groups back to school in June/July after the lockdown eased. I highly recommend Parsons Green Prep and it’s worth considering for your child.

There are not enough superlatives to describe how happy we are at PGP. We arrived from abroad not really knowing what to expect from a London school. We went to see several schools but when we arrived at PGP we literally felt like we had "arrived". Incredibly supportive staff all around and now, after two years, we are equally as happy. If you are after a wonderfully supportive and caring environment where your children will thrive, this is the school for you. Oh, and the uniform is incredibly cute too.

A wonderful school which truly cares for its students. Teachers encourage children to enjoy a range of activities - music, sport, art, public speaking, chess, coding - as well as academic performance, creating well-rounded and balanced happy children. The friend of Parsons Green prep community is so supportive and with families from all over the world it is truly a global village school in the leafy environs of Fulham.

The summer holidays are now upon us and I wanted to write and say THANK YOU PGP. With time to reflect, the teachers did a fantastic job at guiding the children and parents so professionally online, through a very challenging time. I am really pleased with how my daughter has continued to make good progress. She loves school life and everything that the world of PGP has to offer. Thank you so much.

PGP is an incredibly nurturing prep school in London, with excellent teaching and leadership, strong academics, and a thoroughly holistic approach to education. We have been extremely impressed with our son's learning and development in the two years he has been attending the school, and we are looking forward to our second son starting in September 2020.

PGP is a wonderful school with strong academics and a lovely, caring ethos. Our children have thrived academically and benefitted from the smaller classroom size which allows them to really connect with their teachers and work closely with their peers. The school also offers a wide range of extracurricular activities. We have been really happy at PGP.

Fantastic school. Five stars and more. They have done wonders for my child. I am very happy with the level of education, pastoral care, staff going extra mile, nothing ever is a problem.

We moved our daughter to PGP as she was at a large, very competitive school. She and we loved PGP and she left full of confidence and great results.
