Very cool park built on/near an old quarry and landfill. Lots of paved walking paths and some cool metal bridges among the prairie grasses and wildflowers that lead down to the quarry where you can fish (catch and release only) and watch the ducks and geese. There are two elevated hills with walking trails and big patches of grass for lounging and one of them has a cool rock sculpture/formation that makes for interesting photos with the skyline in the background. There is a little workout station with a pull-up bar and sit-up ramp at the bottom of the steps leading up the bigger hill. If you need a bathroom, there is a little play park and fieldhouse across the street that has one. The big hill has some benches and nice view of the beautiful Chicago skyline and some trashy billboards but you can get some great pictures with the right angles. Great for getting your steps in, seeing a cool repurposing of space, and seeing some wildflowers. Brown-eyed Susans galore!

Beautiful place full of nature in the middle of an urban setting. I love the pond and the overall landscape. This place has many unique parts about it compared to a normal nature preserve. Things like the little rock climbing wall and the water bell(I don't know the actual name) makes this place a really nice place to relax.

This park is beautiful. Built out of a former quarry it shows off it's topography with a gorgeous trail up to the top of a hill where uou can view the skyline and watch the highway. Go down from there to see the fishing pond and walk on suspended platforms theough the prairie. The pond is below street level and you can see ice forming on the walls where groundwater is freezing. Very nice times to be had.

10+ stars!! We discovered it by accident driving by what we thought was just a hill. But there is a lot beyond the hill. This park is not super crowded, really beautiful, and interesting. The natural landscape is charming. Come here for a nice walk!!!

My favorite park in the city! I would say it’s a hidden gem. It’s such a nice spot with an amazing view of the city, definitely worth the little hike to reach the top. I cannot recommend this place enough

It's nice but dangerous for little ones. If you have a little one with you, do not let them walk off. They could drown. It is nice place to walk around or have a picnic.

You can relax, work out, fish, lounge on the hill, or even do yoga (free classes throughout the Summer through Bridgeport Community Yoga). There's a group of people that fly kites on the front hill sometimes and it's so fun to see that. A very special place.
