I would highly recommend Ross at Pakenham Automatics. He is a kind, genuine and generous human being! I bought a ten year old Hyundai i30 less than a month ago, not long after I had it I noticed there was a problem with the transmission. I wasnt covered by the statutory warranty because the car was over ten years old. I called Pakenham automatics and Ross told me he was super busy but to bring it in and he would take it for a spin around the block to make sure it was ok for me to drive until he could fit me in the following week. I did and he said it was ok for me to drive and that he would take a look at it for me the next week. He also told me that he was going to call the dealer I bought it off on my behalf as he sold me a car and would of known it already had a problem. I literally cried, I'm a solo mum and don't know a thing about cars and it was just so nice to have someone helping me. The next week he looked at my car, diagnosed the problem and then called my dealer to get him to pay for it. Which the dealer agreed too but only if he used his own auto mechanic. Ross saved me 2k on what was for me a new car. When I offered to pay him for his time, he told me not to worry about it. I can't thank him enough, I feel so lucky that I called Ross as other mechanics would not have been so generous with their time. Highly recommend!

Today, a 38degree day, i was stranded on the side of Monash freeway about 10min drive from the cardinia road exit due to my car overheating. I was there for about 15 minutes before someone stopped. And lucky me it was Ross from Pakenham automotive. He was immediately friendly, extremely knowledgeable, helpful and generous with his time. Not only did he diagnose my problem. A punctured coolant hose. He explained what had occurred for it to happen, what the results could be if I continued to drive and what the safest course of action was not only for my car but for me. He Escorted me off the freeway on to cardinia road where he then assisted in filling up my radiator with water so I could get the car 10 extra minutes to my destination. Job done right? No he went above and beyond and offered his services further to go to his workshop where he could fix my split hose and In turn my car. 10minutes later a new hose and my coolant topped up I was on my way. Seriosuly I can not thank Ross and Pakenham automotive enough for their help and expertise. He was very knowledgeable, honest and professional throughout my whole experience. If not for him I’d still no doubt be stuck of the side of the monash in this scortching heat. Thank you Ross! I’m forever greatful.

We have been going to Ross at Pakenham Automatics since around 2011. I had an old automatic Nissan Bluebird that wasn’t changing into gear straight away when I would shift it from reverse to drive etc One lunch break, I decided to do the drive around to find a mechanic to check the issue. I had been to two mechanics prior who both told me “go see Ross at Pakenham Automatics” .. so off I went to see Ross. At the time it was just a bolt and it was minimal cost. Since that day we have taken all of our cars we have owned over the years for regular services / repairs including the Nissan, VY, VE SS, Toyota Aurion & VF storm. He has gone above and beyond and has got us straight in for emergency repairs / or a last minute service. The 2008 Aurion had cracked oil pipes (which was a recall from Toyota due to not being metal pipes) and he arranged for it to be towed to the work shop in 2016. He knows his cars and is honest. We are lucky to have found a local mechanic who is reliable & always willing to assist. There are always beautiful classic cars in the workshop. Thanks for all of your assistance over the years, we appreciate it.

Has to be the Best and most honest transmission mechanic I've come across. I have recently been to 2 other transmission places in the local area and was taken for one hell of a costly ride, both times! Pakenham Automatics was recommended to me and I cannot thank them enough. Ross diagnosed and repaired our car problem in less than 3 hours with a full detailed rundown of the issue and the price of parts, which were cheaper than I could get myself. Absolute true gentleman and a great tradesman with a high level of knowledge and Integrity. I highly recommend Ross to those looking for Quality work & Quality service, Very easy to deal with, completely transparent and nothing is ever too much for him.100% recommended! Stay Clear if Possible!!! My Cars transmission was not responding. My normal mechanic was booked out for 4 weeks so I thought I'd give this guy a go. I was quoted between $1,200 & $1,500 to send my cars computer away to be looked at. I decided not to go ahead with these repairs as that was way above my budget. After getting my car into my regular mechanic, I ended up paying $400 to repair some corroded wires underneath the center console. Sending a computer away would've not told any mechanic anything in regards to the problem that I had with my car.

Awesome Service from Ross and the crew at pakenham automatics. Fit me in the next day after explaining I had an issue and went above and beyond to help me out. Took genuine interest and care in the fact that I valued my car and looked after it accordingly. Understood my budget and didn’t try and push any unnecessary repairs which was a breath of fresh air to what I’m used to. 100% will be coming back for any other issues I come across in the future.

I called Ross because I was having issues with my t350 gearbox and lucky to find an honest and top bloke. He rebuilt my box and the it feels like a completely new car . I'll be sending all the work we get your way appreciate your help .

Went above and beyond after my transmission blew up on a Saturday and allowed me to tow the car there on the same day and got it back during the following week after reconditioning the transmission, haven't had a problem since

I had a transmission reconditioned it done 25,000 ks and it imploded after getting it to the mechanic they sent it off and found out it wasn't reconditioned. Someone else reconditioned it and $3000 later it is now going again

Dave and the guys at Pakenham Automatics went above and beyond to diagnose and resolve my transmission issues. They even provided a loan car to keep me on the road. Highly recommended! Good service. Good people.
