I brought my bike in here for an overhaul recently (lots of long deferred routine maintenance was needed) and I was really impressed with all aspects of the service. Quality of work was excellent, all the interactions I had with the people there were awesome, and the price on parts and labor was low. New to living downtown and far away from my regular neighborhood bike shop at the time, I took my bike in to Bike Gallery last year for the same kind of "overhaul" and the difference between PSU Bike Hub and Bike Gallery is really night and day. If you want to pay through the nose for not-so-great work, go ahead and take your bike in to Bike Gallery! If that doesn't sound like your thing, I'd recommend these guys. I'll be going back for all my bike-related needs for as long as I'm living close by. Atmosphere in the shop is inviting; people there are friendly, helpful, and informative; prices are very reasonable. They call themselves mechanics, but I'm pretty sure they're actually sorcerers or something... they breathed new life into a bike that was very nearly dead. It rides better now than it ever has, I think.

I came outside after work to discover that my front bike tire was entirely flat. I'm a regular bike commuter, and leaving my bike downtown was not an option. It was 5:45 on a Tuesday, and my options were pretty slim. Luckily, I was only 6 blocks from the PSU bike hub. I went in 10 minutes before closing and told them what was wrong. I had never changed a tube before, and one of the employees was awesome. He got the tools and the tube out, explained the sizing, the tools, how to remove the tire and the popped tube, and how to check to see where the hole was. He then showed me how to place the tube and replace the tire, gave recommendations for PSI, made sure that all the gravel and sharp pieces were out of my tire (literally with his own hands, while warning me that sharp items can cut you), stayed past closing for 5 minutes, and charged me less than $10. I can't really imagine how this experience could have been any better.

Fortune was smiling on me the day I wandered into this bike shop! The manager Dan suggested I try an ebike, and it was easily the nicest bike I’ve ever ridden. (Even the helmet and lock were remarkably nice.) So much fun!! I buzzed all around town, up and down the riverfront trail, and across Portland’s many bridges. I liked the bike so much I went back and rented it the next week, taking it out on the Leif Erikson trail through Forest Park. Service was exceptionally friendly both times. My third time in the shop was a weekend, and the guys working that day were also friendly but a bit disorganized. It took a while to get the bike, and it was… well, shoot, it was just a regular rental bike. The lock was really cool though, and it was still worth it for the convenience of being able to get around town on two wheels. BikeHub is tops on my list for the next time I’m in Portland!

Every so often our eyes are widened by encounters with the supernatural - entities hailing from indescribable, fantastical, scintillating dreamscapes a footlong beyond the periphery of human comprehension. These sacred and infinite realms are inhabited by powerful, spectacular beings that, if fortune strikes, remind us of what's possible - they glow with otherworldly radiance, illuminating prospects and worlds our poor corporeal rods and cones cannot perceive. Brandon and Nell are amongst these magical beings - if you're lucky enough to behold a sighting of them, rejoice! Enjoy a boundless horizon of new possibilities. Thank you both immensely for helping me fix my bike!

I bought a bike that needed some serious help and I had no clue how to work on the bike. The staff was amazingly helpful and if they didn't know how to do something they weren't proud enough to ask their colleagues. I will continue to go back to get my back tuned up or just for questions. If you are a PSU student, you need to stop in. If you aren't, they have memberships for a year for only $50. You will save way more by working on your bicycle yourself. Plus you will be able to impress all your friends!

Friendly staff, and some of the best service prices in town. If they don't have what you're looking for in stock they can either order it or point you in the right direction onnwhere to find it. Even if you're not affiliated with PSU they still offer helpful services to get you on your bike and they promote having a friendly and inclusive bike community. I still visit the shop even after graduating from the University.

Got a bike from here yesterday. Just a wonderful staff! The bikes I looked at were sold at a lower price than the retailer/manufacturer price (possibly because it's a university bike shop). I test rode the bike at three occasions before purchasing it, and they made me feel welcome every single time!! PSU students, staff, and faculty get 15% off on all extras!

Been going here for almost 5 years now and I've always had great experiences. They tried to true my today but it was too badly damaged so I got a new one swapped pretty quickly. My only request would be that the alumni membership still came with the discount.

This bike shop is amazing! I came in looking for a new bike after crashing my old one. They let me test ride the floor model of the bike I wanted. They also built the bike I got for me the same day. Also, they were really nice. Thank you!

  • Adriana Fournier

They are so nice. They helped me changed my pedals to clip in’s as I’m new to the whole bike world and made it easy to make it in before work. I will for sure be making this the my go to place I go for bike needs. Thank you PSU bike hub!

  • Denise Lagudah

We’ve had a lot of trouble with flats. The man at Bike Hub was fantastic, checked over wheel, tyre and tube, helped us find the problem, told us how to prevent it, and fixed it up ready to ride again. So grateful, thank you!

  • shaun patterson

I see why they have such a high rating. They cared enough beyond service to not sell me junk I didn’t need. Probably more then not definitely going to return for future bike needs since I’m mechanically useless lol

  • Miguel Martin
