"I moved practises last Wednesday morning, due to being very unimpressed with the surgery I was at - I just wanted to see a Dr for 10 min to see if I had a chest infection or not and needed antibiotics and couldn't get an appointment with them, so they told me to try 111!! Not helpful when you're calling your GP practise to see a Dr! So I decided to move to a better practise and checked out the reviews for this one"
"I've had a very positive experience, especially with Dr Witters - she was spot-on about several of my recent issues"
"I genuinely hope this practice can help someone to get better or be referred to a proper clinician on time, I genuinely hope receptionists will one day start caring for people who they are speaking to"
"Second time I have found the male receptionist to be totally incompetent"
"I am asthmatic and my partner is key worker and We both commute to work every day and I am in constant contact with public due to my work, they never contacted us regarding Vaccines, but all my neighbours who had family or knew someone inside centre had their vaccine done out of turn! I cannot even find an email to contact them to explain and person on the phone is so rude that does not even let us talk at all and as soon as she picked up the phone, repeated same sentence without breathing and didn't even let me ask my question and hang up the phone!!! I was in Saint johns wood centre before this and never had such an awful experience"
I moved practises last Wednesday morning, due to being very unimpressed with the surgery I was at - I just wanted to see a Dr for 10 min to see if I had a chest infection or not and needed antibiotics and couldn't get an appointment with them, so they told me to try 111!! Not helpful when you're calling your GP practise to see a Dr! So I decided to move to a better practise and checked out the reviews for this one. I registered online - so easy to do - and they accepted me within 2 hours. I rang the practise and got through at once and was offered 3 appointment times that afternoon. I was very happy. Lovely gentleman on reception and he was so understanding and helpful. The Dr I saw, Dr Goldsmith, was so lovely. She listened to me, asked some questions, checked my throat and ears as well as listened to my chest and really seemed to care. I was prescribed antibiotics for a week and that was that. It was a totally pleasant experience. I was early and seen early too. I'm so glad I've changed GP practices.
I've had a very positive experience, especially with Dr Witters - she was spot-on about several of my recent issues. Previously, Dr Amanda Simmons couldn't be more caring and effective - Dr David Spitzer, whom I knew from my previous surgery at Boyne Avenue NW4, was one of the reasons I joined this surgery. My experience with reception has been good with Daniel and Katie more recently. It has a very effective triage setup - when required, I've always been able to get a Doctor to return my call soon after for an appointment at the surgery or by phone when needed. I heard of my 89-year-old cousin's experience at an Edgware single Doctor practice - following a recent fall, his knee swelled - yet he was still told that they don't see patients at the surgery currently and was advised to go to a hospital's A&E. Therefore, I consider myself lucky. I chose this practice because I thought if they please the local communities of Hampstead Garden Suburb, Temple Fortune and Golders Green they have to be good.
I genuinely hope this practice can help someone to get better or be referred to a proper clinician on time, I genuinely hope receptionists will one day start caring for people who they are speaking to. Its super hard to get an appointment, when you get it you feel like in the police answer question department. They are not interested to know your problem because they probably only have 1-3 min per patient. They are not interested to listen to you but to put all data in the pc for records. A couple of years ago i spoke to a receptionist who interrupted me while i was explaining the issue and said that if i keep shouting she will hang up, when I politely told her that i am not shouting she hang up the phone. Probably worst you want to achieve when you have a health problem. I genuinely think she couldn’t be bothered and found the way to finish the call. Very bad experience...
Second time I have found the male receptionist to be totally incompetent. On the first occasion he wouldn’t give me an apptmt and told me the pharmacist could prescribe antibiotics, despite my knowing and questioning it - I foolishly listened. This obviously delayed seeing an actual doctor as I had to go back. Today, I was waiting for over an hour for a pre arranged apptmt with the physio. He told me that the physio knew I was there but when the receptionist shift changed, the new receptionist who I approached over an hour after my apptmt time, let me know I had never been signed in and that now the physio is on a break and was too busy later on. Once you get to see a doctor - they have been pretty okay/ but the receptionist makes my coming tot he practice a very negative experience
I am asthmatic and my partner is key worker and We both commute to work every day and I am in constant contact with public due to my work, they never contacted us regarding Vaccines, but all my neighbours who had family or knew someone inside centre had their vaccine done out of turn! I was in Saint johns wood centre before this and never had such an awful experience. It goes to a point that sometime We feel they do it on purpose because We are not native speaker !
My wife and I are both doctors and we've been registered here for some time. What was once a first class GP surgery is now a real discredit to our NHS. Secretaries with no medical qualifications often deem themselves fit to pass on medical judgments. On one occasion my wife rang their clinic after developing a bloodshot in her eye which was giving her impaired vision. The clinic secretary told her she should go to an optician as this service is not offered by the GPs!!!! My wife then had to explain to the secretary that her condition requires possible medical intervention and not a pair of glasses! honestly, you can't make this stuff up.
The worst GP surgery receptionist l have ever seen. Extremely rude, ignorant staff. It is almost impossible to pass the receptionist to be seen by a doctor. You call at 9 am he'd say call at 2 pm.When you call at 2,he'd say call next day,no appointment left. No matter even you are first on the queue. They forget what for they are there. Giving a call them making them irritated. So, anytime l call,l can't get an any appointment with a doctor. I can't reach a doctor because l can't pass the ruddest and useless receptionist here! Extremely ridiculous! Not being able to get an appointment even for my routine test!
As the Reception Manager of PHGH Doctors for the past 4 years I am keen to see reviews left here. We are not the same surgery as Temple Fortune Medical Group and note most of the comments I have just read are made by people who are not our patients, so I am unsure who they were calling. Last year we upgraded our telephone system and have had great feedback from this. As far as the Vaccination programme here goes we were one of the first UK GP surgeries to offer this service and we also have received amazing feedback from our patients who have been very grateful to receive their vaccines.
I wish there was an option with Zero Star to rate this GP Surgery, I have been registered within clinic for the past two years and have never received a satisfying customer care!! Just Today, after waiting 45 minutes to get connected to the operator, I got the answer from the receptionist to just write my enquiry on their website and doctor will get back to me with answer (He was also very rude)!!! they don't even bother to book appointment for us to visit a doctor! their service is very poor! I couldn't get any appointment for either my wife or myself in the past 18 months!!!
PHGH probably saved a few hundred lives by being so quick to roll out the covid vac program , in terms of people saying staff are rude , some of the patients abuse the NHS and are very rude , We should all be careful what we wish for because one day we will wake up and it will be announced that GP surgeries have all been sold off to American investors and you will be paying to see your GP in the future . Enjoy the freebies while you can and dont forget to be kind to the admin staff as they will all leave and then you will have to find some new staff to be rude to ...
We called about a recurring medical issue. We first spoke with Paul at Reception who was efficient and arranged a call back for us from the GP Dr Withers who inturn invited us to attend the Surgery for a face to face consultation that same morning. She was exceptional in the kindness and care she showed ,and the time she took to explain and discuss management and best treatment options .She spoke very clearly and had simply the most wonderful bedside manner. Thank you Team. We are all very grateful for her help. Thankyou team.
I would just wish to record how fortunate we feel we are to be patients in this practice, (PHGH, Temple Fortune Health Centre). We feel cared for as individuals and - if urgent - can usually get an appointment quickly. Our experiences with Doctors Harverd, Roback and Renton have all been very positive and I’d also wish to single out Sheba, who - as nurse / phlebotomist - has been hugely accommodating in scheduling any necessary tests, etc. A GP practice of unusual quality and highly recommended. We love PHGH!! We recently moved to Golders Green and after reading reviews we decided to choose PHGH as our new doctor’s office and we’re so happy. Everyone is so welcoming and great and we get such wonderful care. We have young twin babies and I always feel like they remember us and are extra accommodating when we have an appointment which is so great. Every doctor that we’ve seen has been so knowledgeable - I particularly liked Dr Robak and Dr Simmons but they are all great. I highly recommend PHGH!
Absolutely appalling behaviour received today by the two Receptionist on duty at PGHG practice. I have been waiting to see the Practice Manager for 30 mins already and receptionist called Mohammed has been the rudest. The lady in main reception has been condescending and abusing vulnerable elderly patients. This is unacceptable and I would hope the Practice Manager takes the other various and poorly complaints seriously. I feel for the two elderly gentleman that were sent away without help.
Maybe they've started to listen to feedback? I too have, in the past, waited 15 minutes and more on the phone despite being 'first in the queue' but this morning - 15 March at 08.45 - I was 8th in the queue and was answered in a few minutes by a helpful, friendly and efficient receptionist. I wanted to leave a positive comment on their website about her but it wasn't possible and who writes letters these days? So one suggestion - enable email correspondence on the website!
I phoned today at around 4.50pm it said I was no. 1 in the queue. After waiting 15 mins I phoned from my mobile at the same time and was told I was no. 4 in the queue. I waited up until 30 mins on the original call and I was still no. 1 in the queue. I hung up on both devices. Called again and this time I was no. 3 in the queue. Proof that nobody was answering calls even though it stated they were open until 6.30pm and a good time to call is 5pm. DISGUSTING SERVICE.
Amazing surgery, I can always get to talk to a Doctor and the team who manage reception are superb! During lockdown I needed to speak to a doctor on a couple of occasions and the triage service was quick and efficient and I got to talk to a doctor on the same day. They even are running a vaccination centre out of the carpark which is also so smoothly run. I am never moving as I don't want to go to another surgery ever!
Very difficult to get an appointment usually a 1 month wait. Receptionists are not pleasant and regularly ignore you. Doctors for PHGH are ok but this is damaged by the fact that they seem to be very rushed to the point where you as a patient feel like you are being rushed. They can't seem to handle more than one problem. If you are a sick person generally this would not be the right GP practice for you.
We are SO impressed by the eConsult service offered by PHGH! The response is so quick and it’s so comforting to know that we will be “heard” and helped!! And how nice to not have to tie up phone lines. Some queries are relatively short and non urgent and some require more immediate attention but all seem to be dealt with in a timely and effective manner. Thank you PHGH!!!
I can't remember whether I have previously written a positive review about PHGH but, even if I have, one cannot praise them too often. In an era when everyone seems to be complaining about their GPs, PHGH are simply fantastic in quickly responding to my needs....and all members of the practice...reception staff, nurses and doctors are just wonderful!
Was in Finchley memorial hospital were the clinician who was not a prescriber called Phgh as I Needed a prescription to be given in an emergency only to have this rude receptionist tell her that it will take 3 days and that’s how it works ended up in the rfh Phgh has become a business not a surgery disgrace there will no be clapping for this place
PHGH Doctors and all the staff have been exceptionally caring, kind ,patient and always so helpful. I am very grateful to every single person with whom I come into contact, the doctors, the nursing staff and the patience of the receptionists on the telephone . Thank you all so much for your dedication and care. Kind regards, Gillian Gamsu
I registered with this practice during summer 2020 and didn't get the confirmation letter so I wasn't sure whether I had a GP or not... but when I called because I needed a referral I didn't wait too long on the phone and the receptionist has been nice. The doctor called me shortly after and she was nice as well. So far so good.
So far so good. Easily got my face to face appointment without having to argue that I don't want a phone call. Appointment was on time, nice doctor. Also, they are not obsessed with alcohol consumption, unlike my old GP who was always hassling me for info on how many units a week I drink.
The website is truly dreadful. About as bad as it can get. I am currently in a phone queue. I have been caller "number one" now for just under 25 minutes. Sadly, this practice is simply going to end up with a lot of very dead patients.
Regarding two recent medical issues for which required my GP services, I can honestly say that I experienced excellent help, guidance and support from two PHGH Doctors and the practice’s support staff. I am extremely grateful.
Changed to this surgery last summer and my experience has been nothing but excellent. Quick to respond, very helpful, phone calls out of hours, good use of technology, Doctors, pharmacists and reception have been great.
I have been waiting on the phone for an hour and 15 minutes for test results. I have been told that I am number 1 in the queue for the last 30 minutes. I'm doubtful that my call will ever be answered.
Excellent GP practice. Very efficient and friendly. Totally different from the surgery we moved away from. Just regret we didn’t move surgeries sooner.
Dr Withers is kind and compassionate, and the response to leaving web form was very satisfactory. Huge improvement on my old sugery, great job, PHGH!
It is difficult to make an appointment and see the same doctor. The clinic has to many patients. Long waits when trying to contact them by phone.
They are so racist I went there to register for a gp I filled up the form and they didn’t help me I don’t go there again anymore
A TPH/204 Cost £100 in here at the back of the room and I can not believe when I left the woman told me , We rip you off .
Difficult to contact, problems with prescriptions, poor diagnosis.I would not recommend this surgery to my worst enemy.
Wonderful reception staff - big credit to them staying so friendly and approachable despite the pressures.
Very kind and helpful doctors, nurses and pharmacist and the new e-consult service is really efficient.
Have always had excellent and courteous treatment, from doctors as well as from the office staff.
Booked an appointment online and waited three weeks, but it got cancelled the day before
Amazing doctors and stuff, very friendly and understanding. The best GP practice .
Terrible receptionist Terrible attitude Unhelpful regarding to an urgent matter.
Absolutely appalling behaviour from both receptionists. Very disappointed.
In contrast to other reviewers, I have found this practice excellent.
Excellent, very helpful, never get impatient with their patients!
Waited 25 minutes on the phone for a reply then was cut off.
I was given all the information in answer to my question .
Best Dr's practice in the land.
Very, very rude receptionist.
Great support staff!
