Stephanie Catsicas is an unprofesssional and unethical pharmasticist. Her conduct and manner towards me has put my health and wellbeing at risk. She refused to dispense medication as part of a prescription issued by a health practitioner. When I questioned why is she refusing to do this she indicated that pre-payment is required before making up the medication. I've been to this pharmacy on a number of occassions and no such request has been made. I was at the pharmacy for over 20 minutes and she did not discuss this requirement while I was there. When I asked to esclate the matter she became extremely unprofessional claimining that "I am the boss and you can't do anything". When I expressed that I would report this matter she then proceeded to say "If you are going to report me then I do not need yo hrlp you". Stephanie's conduct is unprofessional and puts individuals health at risk. This matter will be reported to the relevant health regulators including the Pharmacy Board. As Stephanie has breached her professional and legal obligations as a pharmacist. No pharmacisist can make these type of unilateral decisions that may impact the health and wellbeing of individuals. I make this notice to inform the public because this conduct has the potential to threaten someone's life. This conduct is unacceptable, unethical and unprofessional. Stephanie has failed to comply with professional and legal obligations that guide the conduct of pharmacists. Stephanie has put my health and wellbeing and risk and this conduct has the potential to harm individuals. Disgraceful ......RESPONSE TO JOHN CATSICAS, OWNER ....... Date: 10 March 2023 Thank you for your condescending response dated 9 March 2023 . In relation to your comments, I wish to confirm that I am stating the facts not just "airing". Firstly, you do not have full insight around my medical history so you are not in a qualified position to state that my "health and wellbeing" was not at risk. Also, you were not on the other end of the line with Stephanie. In relation to make repayment, I did seek clarification around the reason for the repayment to which Stephanie provided a vague response explaining that there was the error. She provided no specific dates or information about the error. Regardless, because I need this medication urgently I did agree to come in on Wednesday 8 March 2023 and make payment for the medication, however, Stephanie responded that she will not dispense the medication, instead she would be "willing" to either "send the script to an alternate pharmacy or my home". As you should know, there are limited circumstances under which a pharmacist is permitted to refuse to dispense medication. In this current situation, there was no lawful or legitimate reason for Stephanie to refuse to dispense the medication. This is a real concern that she acted in this manner. Stephanie has failed to comply with the lawful, professional and ethical obligations. I do not expect an objective response as you are related to Stephanie. Stephanie's conduct is DISGRACEFUL and the response from Orrong Compounding Pharmacy is equally DISGRACEFUL.

I’m not the one to write reviews but when I read these horrible reviews I thought I should offer my opinion. I am sick of online trolls who so quickly jump to bully businesses without doing what should be done and ask to speak to the owner or manager about your grievance. Give the business owner the opportunity to right what went wrong you feel has occurred, don’t be a coward and write bad things. John the owner of the pharmacy is the nicest gentleman you’d ever meet! The short grey haired lady whose name Is Deb has always gone above and beyond for mee. She’s researched and ordered in any and all random products I’ve asked for and even kept them in stock for me so I didn’t have to wait. The only time I ever seen anything was when she told a customer she’d be happy to serve them once they were off the phone. But hey I agree with her on that one! The new generation are just abominable with their manners! How can you expect good customer service when you are on the phone?! I became a customer of Orrong Pharmacy for my compounded items. They were cheaper than the place I was going and the first time I got my product it looked completely different to what I always had. When I queried the chemist she politely took the time to explain why it looks so different and how they had formulated it in a stabilised base. It turns out my previous pharmacy had been making it incorrectly. And no I didn’t give a bad review to them. I simply informed the other pharmacy of their mistake and after that I have stayed with Orrong pharmacy. All the products I have had compounded have been of excellent quality and value. The chemists Melinda, Alise, Luan, Seeka and John have all taken the time with me of various occasions to explain what things are, check them against other medications I take, show me how to use them and provide me with information on the product. The few high priced pricate prescriptions I get are either the same as Chemist warehouse or a few dollars more but I really don’t mind since the service is exceptional. Thank you team at Orrong for taking such good care of me for the last few years! Come on loyal customers let’s rally against the trolls!

Yesterday we visited the pharmacy and I have to say John who is not only a pharmacist but a naturalpath is the most knowledgeable, caring and attentive man. My child has had many medical issues over many years and the doctors we see only seem interested in quick fixes not holistic fixes and moving towards a cure / healthier version of my child. John straight away looked at our blood tests and noticed a number of inconsistencies. The Dr the day before noted two. John gave us lots of great advice but also gave us a plan, and suggested strategies as well as vitamins that may help. No Dr so far has gone any further than their speciality. John emailed us lots of reports after our visit and we are so grateful that we will be working with him to help get our child healthier. Being a compounding pharmacist, John can make you up homeopathic preparations and is well known for his success in treating a whole range of ailments. The whole team is so lovely, the shop is well spaced out with medication, vitamins, gift items, it’s a one stop shop. I cannot recommend John and the team highly enough. I had a sinus operation and needed a sinus spray and my ENT said go to Orrong compounding pharmacy see a man named John he makes up a spray that many people say is the only thing that helps. Even the Doctors send people there.

The exceptional customer service I have recently received from the team at Orrong Compounding Pharmacy has been outstanding. Customer service is something that I highly regard. The team are exceptionally helpful, understanding and prompt with their service and delivery. Amidst this turbulent time for everyone, the team are so warm, jovial and clearly willing to go above and beyond for their customers. I would like to sincerely commend your team. Courtney and Rachel in particular and the lovely pharmacist who helped me with advice in relation to my daughters condition and high temperature. I honestly have never received such beautiful customer service and particularly Courtney who was willing to go above and beyond for me last night to help me out and purchase a product from coles at such a late hour! Solo parenting is hard enough let alone taking medication which can be quite shameful as a parent at times. Not once have I felt judgement from any of the pharmacists and this is quite an important aspect for me to feel fully supported, particularly during this time. So many alarming things wrong with this place! Staff shouting people's prescriptions and personal details across the pharmacy when I've been in. When picking up medications I asked them to keep my details quiet, they scoffed at me and continued as they pleased. This dropped my already low view of this place. I had reservations about ever going into this pharmacy as they have a naturopath clinic in the pharmacy with advertising all over the exterior showing things like two women (one looking old and one looking young) the ad then states that they are the same age and infers that naturopathy is the reason they look different. This is disgusting pseudoscience. On another occasion I asked a staff member if it was okay to have a naturopath clinic inside a compounding pharmacy - I feel like this gives false equivalency - like naturopathy is in any way equitable with real medicine. They ignored my question and then refused to dispense my medications and actually threatened to call the police to have me removed. I seriously suggest you give this place a miss if you want kind, careful, or trustworthy pharmacy services. Strongly recommend Prahran Midnight Pharmacy one block away on the corner of High Street and Williams Road.

When I want something special that my chemist, 5min away can't provide, I happily drive to a special chemist, 40min away. I'm greeted by good-looking staff, mainly young women, who are friendly and helpful, without being pushy. Then, apart from the standard prescription services: As a compounding pharmacy, a woman can have bio-identical hormones made up in the shop, I've had Homeopathic drops made up, which comfortably helped me lose 5kg in 24 days, I've had advice on high quality (not supermarket) nutritional products, with the professional knowledge of possible interactions with prescription drugs, Finally, the owner of the Pharmacy, John Catsicas, is not only a qualified pharmacist but also Naturopath, Homeopath and, I've found, all-round Nice Guy, even has a sense of humour! I believe that the head pharmacist, Anne-Marie, could have used a more tactful approach when addressing the fact that I had not received my prescription sooner. Her comments, which she made aloud from behind the counter, were unprofessional, embarrassing, and insulting. I understand that there are strict protocols that must be followed in this profession, and that social distancing measures require staff to speak out loud. However, this does not mean that customers should be privy to the personal thoughts of staff members. The rest of the staff at this pharmacy have been absolutely fantastic, and I would give them nothing less than five stars for their commitment to the community. My family and I will continue to come here when we need our prescriptions filled. Personally, I prefer a cup of ginger, honey, and lemon tea to heal my woes. However, if my problems are more serious, I will reach for the Windex.

John and the staff at Orrong Pharmacy are simply wonderful. They are second to none. All are extremely friendly, attentive, knowledgable and ready & willing to help. The range of products is impressive & diverse, from beautiful greeting cards for those times you need a quick birthday card or thank you last minute, to organic, environmentally friendly personal healthcare options, supplements and of course pharmacy items. Being a Compounding Pharmacy John & his team can provide you with whatever you need. John himself is the most kind, caring and considerate pharmacist you are ever likely to meet. His nature is to help people and that shows in all his interactions with customers. Just a lovely man. I cannot recommend this pharmacy & it's wonderful staff more highly.

As a loyal customer of this pharmacy for 10 years and even more so now that my wife and I now have 10 month old twins. I’m very saddened at the blatant disrespect shown by management to now charge an obscene amount of $53 for Novolac Allergy formula. At almost $20 more than chemist warehouse and other pharmacies in the area, this increase is a slap in the face to parents who rely on local pharmacies to supply essential allergy related products for their infants. No one is saying it should be the same price as large retailers (chemist warehouse) but $20, almost 40% more is disgusting. Thank you for praying on the needs of desperate parents trying to feed their children but today will the be last time my family spend a further cent in the place. Merry Christmas!!!!

A big shout out to John and all the wonderful staff at Orrong Compounding Pharmacy. All the staff are friendly, extremely knowledgeable and the shop is well stocked. John who is both a pharmacist and natural path is the most caring gentleman and his wealth of knowledge in both fields of health are such are a bonus. I am not sure why people feel the need to whinge about waiting for an order these days. Yes they are short staffed, who isn't. But not one person there is ever rude, and they don't rush you even though they are under the pump time wise. Honestly, anyone whinging about the photos on the outside of a shop has waaaay to much time on their hands. I wanted to right a review about Orrong Pharmacy to let people know in the area what a great Pharmacy they are. I originally came across John and his staff several years ago whilst living around the corner. I have since moved further down the road and pass several chemists to come back here to get advise on things. John and his staff are extremely knowledgeable and helpful. As well they are a compound pharmacy which is a huge bonus they also have great gifts for people so no need to race around. I recently bought a french jigsaw for a birthday present (under 20 dollars : ) I don't think I can rave enough about Orrong Pharmacy and the staff that work there. They are always happy and helpful and really go out of there way to help you.

Absolutely disgusting service by a lady called 'Joanne' or 'Joanna'. Disgusting attitude and extremely disgusted by my figure. I had asked that the prescription be generic and it was brought out as expensive branded and I politely told her that it was incorrect and that I needed the generic brand and she told me off saying that I should have shown some what of a health care card. Once I had given it to her she snatched it from my hand carried it to the pharmisist whilst staring me up and down and shaking her head. Absolutely disgusting service by her. I will not be going back.

My God daughter had embarrassing dry flakes like dandruff on her navy blue school blazer.I say like dandruff because I had tried over ten different shampoos and treatments over an entire year with no result. A lady at the pharmacy was most understanding. She asked a few questions and recommended a particular shampoo/conditioner combination and said "I guarantee this will work for your daughter! I have been ordering a compound medication for about a year from this pharmacy. They have been an absolute delight to deal with. I would receive a message the moment they get the faxed script (usually within minutes of my doctor faxing it). They keep me on track with my order status and give me options for delivery or pick up. The packing is always thorough to ensure the medications arrive safely. Overall a reliable and friendly customer service to the point that I have made them my preferred compound pharmacy. Went into Orrong compounding pharmacy for the first time over the weekend and had a really pleasant experience. I had called ahead and the staff graciously put an item on hold for me as they only had one left! When I went into the store a couple hours later I was greeted by Rachael and as promised the held item was waiting for me. To be honest in this day and age it’s lovely to be treated like a person rather than a number! Thanks so much! Will definitely be coming back!

Following excellent service on New Year's Eve, I'm so pleased to have found this compounding chemist. I spoke with John about needing an urgent compounded script filled for my infant daughter and I was met with such kindness and wonderful service with the script turned around in under two hours. In addition, the product appears to be far superior than what we had previously been buying from another pharmacist. So pleased, we'll be back for sure!

John is a brilliant operator. I was nervous about the vaccine and his experience made it a painless experience. John is also well researched in traditional western medicine and also homeopathic medicine as well. All of the staff there were also wonderful to talk to. I must commend Jenny Mac for her pleasant disposition and professionalism. The pharmacy was very busy at 1.45pm today (22/01/2020). I needed to get some documents certified. I was served by Jenny promptly when she finished dispensing medication, and was greeted with a warm smile. I apologised for coming in at a busy time, but she said it was no fuss at all. I love this pharmacy and the team that runs it. No matter what silly questions I have about my compounded medications, they are always happy to oblige me. I’ve been meaning to review Orrong Pharmacy for a while now as they have been my local chemist since I moved into the area 3 years ago. In those 3 years I’ve had nothing but fantastic service, warm welcomes, expert advice and highly professional service.

Waited 20 minutes and after all the waiting I was given the wrong dosage. Useless bunch of people. It was pre-ordered, I just walked out. Replying to owners comments below: 1) I requested 2.5mg over the txt 2 days ago; it was confirmed order is available to be collected; 2) I showed text messages and my script to lady in front desk; which then she wrote on the paper; It was a horrible experience.

Am writing this review because I'm astounded at the price I paid here for a morning after pill - $40 compared to $14.99 at other pharmacies - same brand, same dosage, huge mark-up. The pharmacist was lovely, explained everything to me and made sure I understood the ins & outs of the medication. However, the lady at the front counter was less than friendly. Won't be going back.

I have been visiting this pharmacy for many years and thought it was about time I shared some feedback. The team is always kind, friendly and professional. Stephanie always goes above and beyond, in particular, following the birth of our baby recently, when she went out of her way to source a hard-to-get product for us. We really couldn’t have asked for anything more.

I came here for the first time and needed a cream made up as my local pharmacy is not a compounding pharmacy. They said it would be done by tomorrow, but I asked if I could have it by close today (10pm). They said yes, and amazingly I got a text not one hour after I’d got home saying they’d done it! Service & product offering is outstanding. Save for being fobbed off by the diet consultant in regard to my enquirers concerning their Reshape Program. To say I felt like an unwanted potential customer for said program would be an understatement!! Very disappointing & out of character with their communication culture.

Went here and asked the pharmacist if they stocked anything for coughs without sorbitol. Got handed something and told it had saccharine but not sorbitol. Looked at it when I got home and it contained large amounts of sorbitol. I realise I should have checked this when I was there but I guess I trusted the pharmacist?

The pharmacist, John, and his team went absolutely above and beyond to organise my son a particular kind of antibiotic when there was a shortage across Melbourne. They took it upon themselves to problem solve several issues and showed great effort and care for my son. Can’t recommend this pharmacy or the team enough.

Great compounding pharmacy, however watch as some of their items are prices incorrectly. Had to return for a refund as a candle was marked $30 cheaper than I was charged. Didn’t really get an apology, just a refund. Would return for their compounding pharmacy though.

Love this pharmacy! I had red inflamed eczema in my elbow, I tried many different products that didn’t work and made it worst. Zein recommended moogoo oatmeal soap and cream. Glad that she recommended them for me. My skin is much better now. Thank you!
