Definitely wouldn’t recommend. Absolute hack job to say the least. Took my brand new car in to have a windscreen replacement as unfortunately mine got cracked after a few weeks of ownership (absolute bad luck). The day before the booking I called to confirm the appointment. I was instructed that they couldn’t find the replacement windscreen and said “it must be in the workshop somewhere” and they would call me back. (And yes, Alarm bells should have rang at this point). So the following day I took my car in at 7:30am and when I walked in the first thing I was told by a young guy with bad attitude was “we don’t open until 8 but I guess you can leave it here instead of coming back and dropping it off later”. During my lunch break I collected my car and didn’t think anything of it. When I got home that evening I checked the work and it was absolutely atrocious. There was adhesive all over the front of the vehicle and an absolute mess behind the cover that hides the edge of the windscreen. I proceeded to look in the interior and the damage was unbelievable. The A pillar trim was ripped and dented, the mirror casing was hacked where they had to pull it apart to remove from the windscreen. The lane assist camera which sits behind the mirror and Fastened to the windscreen itself had debris in it (which is extremely unsafe) and the list went on. I took my brand new car in to have it repaired and it came back in worse condition. After I got onto them about it, they ordered replacement parts which took well over a month to arrive (which isn’t there fault as the parts came from Germany) and it was replaced. But I’m so angry about this and the lack of care and complete disregard for workmanship and someone’s vehicle. There is absolutely no way that obrien’s can dispute any of what I’ve written as it has been well documented and I have evidential photos of the hack job. I’m warning everyone that if you have the choice don’t use them, even if it means you have to wait longer to get into somewhere else to have the job done. Im sure I’m not the only one that this has happened to and probably won’t be the last, because they just don’t care.

Initially booked for a call out service. Unfortunately, the replacement brought to my home was already chipped, and I was told they would have to reorganise. O'brien AutoGlass called two days later stating they could no longer do a call out. So, I organised to drive the 15+ kms to Cambridge with a very cracked/taped windscreen across the drivers side! I was told it would take approx. 45 mins for a 2pm booking. I had a work meeting booked for that time and asked if I could use their wifi (apparently they only have dongles and no wifi, even though when there I could see multiple networks available). I waited 1.5 hours before asking how much longer it would take to be completed (I could see the guy working on my car, checking his phone and going super slow). I then waited another 15 mins before it was completed. I asked if I had been charged a call out fee to which the dude responded "I have no idea." I quickly checked my car then had to rush off and collect my daughter from after school care... as by then it was already 4pm! As I was driving back both inside panels came loose... I later checked the front of my Suzuki Swift and noticed the side panels were incorrectly re-installed, glue residue and there was a large gap at the bottom of the windscreen - big enough for leaf litter to drop down. I ended up calling my regular mechanic/friend who came around and fixed it all - I fell very ripped off! I will never use O'brien AutoGlass again, complete waste of time.

My brand-new Camry's windscreen was damaged somehow in a repair shop, along with other damages to the car body itself. As a result, my hope and trust for all other repairers were completed diminished. However, O'Brien (Hobart) showed me completely otherwise, that there are still qualified and great repairers out there, who take pride and honour in their workmanship, while providing all the cares to customer's vehicle, in detail. I was at the workshop for the entire duration of the windscreen replacement and re-calibration, and I had to say thank you to O'Brien. I was nervous as if they were going to break or cause any other damages as the other repairers did, but I soon relaxed by seeing how many times they put on gloves and change them as they get dirt, in addition to all the other protective measures. And of course, the windscreen was replaced and installed to the best standard I could judge, while being a bit OCD. The re-calibration also worked perfectly, and the driver's assistance (camera and radar work as they were, if not better). [Word of advice: do not test the re-calibration on a crowded highway...] Overall, I am extremely satisfied with the workmanship, their expertise, knowledge, experience, respect, care and patience they have, I would recommend all to visit O'Brien's workshop to get their damaged windscreen replaced (but hopefully never happens).

I posted a less than glowing review for these guys around 6 months ago (see below). Well, things have improved a little. I recently had to replace my damaged car windscreen, again, and my insurer booked my car back in with O’Brien Hobart. They were efficient, professional and the work carried out was competent. Credit where credit is due, compared to my previous experience this time was a pleasant surprise. The new windscreen also creaks in the same corner as the old one from O’Brien, but I would certainly consider them in the future for sorting car windscreen issues. Replaced my damaged car windscreen. New windscreen creaked in one corner. When I raised this with them they informed me a new replacement windscreen would be fitted. Several weeks later, when they could fit me in, the glazier informed me that he had only refitted the exiting windscreen as he didn’t think there was anything wrong with the installation and “his boss told him to”. After all this, the issue still persists. A prolonged, frustrating and dishonest experience.

Absolutely disgraceful service and appalling attitude from the Cambridge Branch. They fitted a new windscreen to my Land Rover last month and fitted it 10mm too low and it did not seal correctly at the top; the RH shroud on the "A" pillar was loose and caused wind noises, and they forgot to tighten the RH wiper arm. When I discussed it with them they were rude (as my wife also noted) and told me it was my fault because I asked them to use the Genuine Land Rover shroud clips which I supplied. They said their clips are better, however they did not mention that to me when I asked them to use the LR clips. I have had to get my Insurance Company to get a new 'screen fitted correctly by another supplier. They would not offer an explanation why they incorrectly fitted the 'screen 10mm too low. One star is one too many in my opinion!

As a result of living in the country on a gravel road I have sustained broken a windscreen on a few occasions. Each time my insurer (Shannon's) put me directly through to O'Brien Glass. A booking is made at my convenience for them to come to my property to install a new screen. So far they have been prompt to giving me a call before they arrive and generally are here spot on time. The technician removed my old screen and replaced the new one in about one hour. The only negative point is that since they are coming in a van, if it is raining you will need to have an undercover area for them to perform the replacement. Apparently if the damage is under the size of a twenty cent piece then they may perform a repair. I live one hour from Hobart in a remote location and they have no problem with servicing me at home.

Very very very poor communication, organisation, poor worksmanship from some employees which led to 200mm scuffing of my dash, scuffs all the way down my vehicles lhs guard from when replacing the windscreen and existing glue, tape etc left in place and painted over etc. Difficult to even get a hold of over the phone. Employees clearly didnt communicate well with office and pushed back the job 3 times due to time limitations. Would not recommend, shop elsewhere. Dragged a week long job out nearly a month before someone even came out to have a look at what i reported with the finished product then waited another 2 weeks for parts (which is no fault of theirs) turned a week long job into nearly 6.

I came in on a Saturday with my two young children, and the gentleman who helped me with my new windscreen install was kind and happy and seemily the only one there with a workroom full of cars! I was so impressed with his prompt calls and excellent customer service - he even stopped traffic to help me leave safely as the driveway is a little pokey! I would have managed without him, but I didn't have to! Was thrilled with the service offered by the gentleman and only wish I got his name so I could thank him properly! After a not-at-fault car accident and all the other running around I've been doing - this man made it so so easy. Thanks windscreen O'Brien and kind stranger!

Had an appointment to have someone come to my house and replace my windshield. The guy showed up two hours early with no notice whilst I wasn't home. Told him via phone that I could come home but would be 20 minutes. He told me that that was too long and we would have to rebook as he was “fully booked”. Ended up having to take the car in and the windshield was replaced quickly and without issue. Not sure if this is standard as I don't get a lot of windshields replaced, but I'd typically expect that I don't have to be home all day if I'm booked in for a specific two-hour period in the afternoon.

  • Janette Lovell

Terrible services... I explained the job fully and they couldn't do it?. Terrible customer service, and i wouldnt recommend them to noone, when they told me to just go thru another business anyway. Instant windscreen quoted me the same price with same day service and got the job done with one person. Ridiculous waited for O'brien all week then half the day just for him to walk in and out after 5minutes. Not very professional....

  • Taylah Emanuel

Emily at reception is a treat. Not even a hi when I walked in, then might as well have thrown the eftpos machine at me for a payment she’s been chasing me for as she forgot to take it at the first appointment. Only needed a second appointment because they stuffed up the first windscreen replacement! Reading the reviews not sure how they make any money on how many windscreens they waste. Save your time and money and go elsewhere

  • Jack Irish

Avoid. User other companies. Staff rude. At the Cambridge office the person who works at reception advised me that if they did break my window during a small crack repair I just needed to claim on my insurance and give them the bill. Totally misinformed individual, misinforming customers. Incompetent technicians breaking glass and accepting no responsibility. Arrogant management.

  • Madison Thompson

Booked car in 3 weeks in advance. I live 2.5 hours away from Hobart, Dropped car off and an hour later they called me to inform that they didn’t have the correct windscreen. Was told sorry.so 2.5 hour drive home with broken windscreen And another full day driving back when they actually decide to get the correct windscreen Really inconvenient really poor effort

  • Justin Browning

Damaged the car refused to fix damage. Used a rubbish seal pretending they could find proper seal. I found one online in under a min. Took a month to get glass removed so I can get the chipped paint fixed on a freshly painted vehicle. Window quality was absolutely atrocious. Customer service is appauling

  • Chris Woolley

Disappointed to find interior damage to the centre console area after a windscreen change. Small damage but shows lack of care and attention, and bloody disappointing. Cabin also littered with small pieces of either plastic or window sealant... Insurance company repairer of choice.

  • Rajiv shrestha

Very poor customer service. We had an appoint today at 11 but yesterday after we had a chat, they 've asked us to drop our vehicle before 8am. But, while droping our vehicle for a service, we were asked to come at 11. Very dissapointed with the service they've provided.

  • Brett Skirving

Booked in to get a windshield replaced. Told the call centre 3 times I only wished to pay a deposit on booking, which was $100. He charged my credit card full price and without my consent or any discussion booked wiper replacements for an extra $90.

  • Brendan Ashby

Stream Lee helpful very nice Pleasant staff willing to help as much as they can had my window fixed couldn't into it asked to come back in a day or two and they did it straight away as quick as possible took 30 minutes sat weighted very happy

  • Andrewtaff52 Evans

Excellent friendly service. Confirmed job the day before, called before arrival on the day of the repair, explained the process on site then asked me to check the quality of the repair on completion of the job. Can't ask for more than that!

Very nice bunch at O’Brien’s in Cambridge Tasmania, they did a wonderful & very quick windscreen replacement for our Hilux. The staff I interacted with were very professional, helpful and pleasant.

  • Peter Lawler

Excellent friendly service. Free coffee from a Nestle machine though perhaps a few of those UHT single serve milk things wouldn't go astray to help beef out the cuppa while you wait.

  • Leesa Tovey

I had a booking for Thursday and no one showed. Countless phones calls and no one could tell me what was going on. Booked in for Thursday and my windscreen was fixed Saturday.
