Enveloped by an amazing ambience and palpable vibe,Northcote Plaza Shopping centre is my go to place when I'm feeling the desire to go on a major shopping spree. It is also of such great convenience as it literally has such a vast array of diverse and different business outlets under the one roof, that will surely enthrall, entice and satisfy your buying needs. Aesthetically, the Plaza is infinitely enveloped by sheer opulence which is conducive in enhancing and intensifying an already amazing experience at shopping at such an amazing and sublime shopping centre.Added to this, the employees as well as management who work at this shopping centre are so friendly and accommodating and are not averse in going out of their way in ensuring that there respective customers achieve complete satisfaction, they are both dedicated, diligent and passionate about their roles and obligations as employees at this business outlet, and impart the absolute pinnacle of superlative skills in ensuring that your shopping experience at this store will be both sublime and unforgettable. In conclusion to my rather extensive review,I would just like to add that if your in need of fulfilling your shopping desire, then I have no hesitation in vehemently recommending that you pay a visit to Northcote Plaza, you will not be disappointed, five star service guaranteed.

Not a bad little shopping centre, it has all the necessities covered and has plenty of parking, there is a COLES Priceline Pharmacy a Bakery Aldi Florist shoe repair Key Cutting and a EB GAMES! haha and other cheap stores, it's not modern at all and I guess it could be better but in saying that it matches Northcotes general infrastructure perfectly. It has some colourful characters loitering about and some strange smells near certain exits and and entrys Things are changing due to the internet so a lot of businesses that once would have been the most successful are no longer such as K-Mart.

  • Kylee Doust

It's set out poorly and the quality of the shops is very substandard. It has two Coles within 150 metres of each other and the general quality of the centre is low. I go there regularly because I have to kill time waiting for my children to finish an after-school activity and each time I dream of a nice little cafe. Alas, there is nothing of the sort. It's hard to believe that High St is just around the corner. It feels like it's in a different planet that hasn't been refurbished since the 70's.

Have stayed in Acacia Apt in Northcote plaza for around 2 years and had an amazing experience. Love the mall , it has pretty much everything one needs, from branded to non branded, expensive to cheap , 3 chinese gift shops , 2 pharmacies, big size Coles n kmart , v nice chinese restaurant, souvlaki shop, coffee house, great burgers n pizza, spice n cheese shop ,Bank of Melbourne, High st on one side n a beautiful All Nation's Park on the other, perfect location !! :) perfect place to live

Convenient small shopping mall.Has a Priceline store a couple of 2 dollar stores, florist, mobile phone carriers, pharmacy, Susan's reject shop lincraft, Great nail tech's more than 2 salons to choose from. Deganis and 2 Coles supermarkets 1 of which was a bi-lo supermarket back in the day, remember those? Aldi, grocer and much more. Anyway, I liked this mall better when it contained a Kmart store. Still parking is pretty good as are opening hours

  • Fat 2 Fit Lisa

The whole shopping centre needs a complete revamp/refresh as it is stuck in the 1980s. The introduction of a more lively range of cafes and restaurants is what is needed and a more diverse range of shops. The Kmart that is presently there has been sold and will close down in November 2020 as will the two Coles stores so enjoy the convenience while you can! Parking has never been a problem when I have visited generally on a weekend.

  • Michael Kitchenham

Medium size centre in two sections divided by an access road. Don't expect too much here, all fairly basic. Has an undercover and an open car park. Never any problems parking. If you have a firetruck you can park right outside the door and go shopping. We sometimes have lunch here but usually go to Northland for shopping. Close to High St and the tram. Bus stop nearby. Not far away from Northcote train station. Great for locals.

  • Phuc Yiu

At first view this is a pretty disappointing shopping centre, aesthetically trapped in the 1980s. Absurdly, it has two Coles supermarkets 50 metres apart. But if you come here often enough you will spot minor domestic celebrities, the kind of people who might have once been regulars on Spicks and Specks (eg Denise Scott, or the one with the glasses from Tripod) , buying Sorbent or disposable razors. The real Northcote.

  • Erik Krauklis

The Plaza has been open for many years now and needs a make over to brighten and lighten it up with more light. Has two Coles supermarkets (opposing ends), Kmart, large pharmacy, a fantastic butcher, banks, cafes, Donut King and other shops to cater for everyone. Still has a great community feel. Plenty of access point for parking all around the centre. Good spot for shopping locally.

  • Rosario Esensua

Very outdated and tired, very dirty, same rubbish sitting outside for months and getting blown around by the wind and amazed that the council hasn't stepped in to get them to do something about it! Shops are good, why there are two Coles stores inside the one shopping plaza is beyond me! I come here for the convenient location but usually go to Barkley Square in Brunswick.

  • Beauty Tim

Not busy, quiet, three homeware stores competition within the same block. The extended newer area has nothing special to see: where there are two Coles, each from one corner while another from another corner, strange competition, without Also and Woolworths. You have to go back to the separation street entrance for other shops, the oldest set up area.

  • Andy Gee

I'm still not over the loss of the K-mart, but what are you going to do? 2 Coles. 2 pharmacies that are related to each other. 2 cheap shops. It's such a unique shopping centre it should be included in tourist brochures. Will they have what you need? Will there be some random shop stocking that random item? Who knows - but it's part of the fun.

  • Anthony Brown

What can I say........it looks like the plaza is suffering from a slow and painful death with two Coles supermarkets feeding on the corpse like sharks on a dead whale. What would be awesome is if we could reimagine the entire plaza....imagine a Preston Market in the heart of Northcote?? Still, I shop here to support the locals.

  • Diane Macleod

Too many cheapo shops. Could do with a quality dress shop and a decent shoe shop. Sussan is the only really good shop for clothes and it is manned by mature age ladies who are all lovely. The pet shop is also great. Nelly is a genuine animal lover and is a font of knowledge. Much room for improvement in this shopping complex.

  • Matt White

It's a community plaza. There are some fantastic shops here such as the deli and the florists. I've never understood why there are two Coles and it's great the are has a Kmart. Generous parking, but the plaza needs an upgrade. Also more security presence would be great as sometimes, just sometimes it doesn't feel safe.

  • Sylvael 2002

Quite popular amongst the older generations, it is relatively small but has enough diversity of businesses that you can find a few things. It has two Coles supermarkets only a couple stores apart which is... odd. The Kmart closed down so if you're looking for one the best bet is Northland shopping centre. Average.

  • Geek In Da Kitchen

TRUSTED LOCAL GUIDE! Lots of good shops here and the bakers delight has the best pizza's I have ever tasted and very generous with their serving sizes to be honest which is what I love about them to be honest. Clean great EB games Staff to. Great Coles Customer Service as well so all in all EXCELLENT PLACE.

  • V Bosh

This place has 2 Coles and no IGA. No Kmart now either. Thats ok though. Continental deli to get your Charcuterie in good form. Great butchers with all of the meats. Decent burgers and shakes at the cafe next to the music store. Smoko shop for your 4.20 and useless novelty gift needs. Skate park out back.

  • Eugenia Papadamitriou

The sanitary dispensers are always empty and the bathrooms are not as clean as they should be during a pandemic period I really can't understand why they have to Coles We are in need of a target or k amart The Community is elderly And has mobility issues There isn't a Lot of disabled parking Ellicated

  • Petra Hansen

Parking is dreadful at Northcote Plaza and the centre itself is pretty ordinary. No stores of quality and several are vacant. I only go roughly once a week to meet a client otherwise I most certainly wouldn't bother. There are however a couple of good cafes with a great menu at very reasonable prices.

  • Kon Delesantis

A true tribute to Northcote's heritage and cultural diversity. Sure some of the plaza is a bit run down but in some ways it's that very thing that make shopping there so appealing. Some great shops and great people on hand to serve you. I have so many friends there. I wouldn't trade it for the world.

  • Sara Hill

Local shopping center, Coles is also very modern, large pick and mix fruit and nuts area, large variety of meats including organic, grass fed and vegan options, so many ready to go meals like sushi and salads. A few great cafes also such as Deganis and all nation's park is just a short stroll away.

  • Peter White

Northcote Plaza is a lovely place for quiet corner shops, cafes and a variety of dispositions. Whether it be a appetizing meal, plentiful to be, or a handy item from the $2 shop or even a beautiful pair of jeans from Kmart. Northcote Plaza is not only nice, Northcote Plaza is Extraordinary.

  • Grant Sheridan

Your classic plaza. All the shops you expect. There's two supermarkets, Cole's and it's competition, another Cole's. Easy to get to. Full of gorgeous older Greek women and their fantastic hair. What more could you ask!? Probably heaps, but I come here for food. And there's two choices!

  • Frankee Moro

Pretty run down and dated but very convenient and has most things you could need. Weirdly has two coles, one at either end but also has Aldi, hairdressers, cheapo shops, bakeries, tabaconists, specsavers, Kmart, alcohol, telcos, aus post and way more. Always able to find parking too.

  • Rachel Mass

Time for an update. They also need to get rid of one of the coles supermarkets and make way for some competition! I don’t think I have been to any small shopping complex that has two large coles supermarkets. They also had Kmart but they closed the only good store in the plaza.

  • Holly Corpe

This is a good little local shopping centre. It has all the things you would need, big supermarket chain, little boutique shops. It's got a great little bakery that does a very nice Bahn mi. The deli in this place is also great. Really good cheese and cured meats selection.

  • M Zubair

Not a bad little shopping centre with Coles, Vodafone, Australia Post and some other shops. My only gripe with this shopping centre is Kmart, without Kmart it’s a bit quieter, otherwise great and super convenient. The best thing about this shopping centre is parking.

  • X Box

The plaza feels old fashion and run down. Lots of empty shops. The open air donut stall adds a delightful greasy oil smell to the entire plaza. Plus the men's loo High St end, has no toilet seats. So be sure to practice squatting. This is a beautiful place to shop.

  • pand0rium

This place is sub average. not a modern mall but it does have plenty of parking which is awesome. on the greater scheme of things, if you have Doncaster, then Northland, this fits underneath there. basic small shops inside that sell junk. average priced Asian food.

  • Jimi Croker

This place is a real step back in time! I don't think it's had an ounce of renovations since it's construction! And having two Coles is... odd. But sometimes works in my favour. If one Coles is out of stock on one product, you can always try your luck at the other!

  • Alex

There is definitely a good side to the plaza and a not-so-good side. The tobacconist on the High Street side should really be shown the door unfortunately. She doesn't belong there as she has the manners of a goat. The other side is much more lively and welcoming.

  • Allan Clayfield

A bit daggy but it's got all the basic necessities. Renowned for its two Coles, one at either end - one of which was a Bi-Lo many years ago. The Kmart site has been empty for over a year now and that has left a big hole that desperately needs to be filled

  • Vasilios Chrisant

It is getting refurbished, it’s been there for years, but it does have some good shops. Supermarkets, delicatessens etc, and cafes, and it has a has a fantastic park playground at the rear of the centre. It will great when CAThe complex is completed.

  • Jack Hammoud

Cosy place, have three supermarket, k mart , two vegetables independent shops and two meat shops plus other business like flight center, flowers shop, foods shops. Almost you can find every thing. Good place to do shopping and cup of coffee?

  • Agatka Z (Eden)

I'm new to the area, I like the variety of retail outlets, it's literally within walking distance & there are some nice little food outlets. I prefer this rather than the noisy, hectic, over-crowded atmosphere of the larger shopping centres.

  • Quatermass

This complex has a wide range of wares, and something I like; it hasn't changed for the 20 years I've been in the area. That will annoy some, be for me its nice to have a constant around. What's notable and odd here is there are two Coles

  • Nickolas T

I have lived in Northcote my whole life and growing up I worked at the Plaza at several places, over the years the Plaza itself seems to have just gotten worse and worse, once upon a time Kmart was the best thing here but seems like Kmart

  • F.W Perso

Ok so I didn't actually visit this place like it says it did, or at least when, but I lived just opposite for a bit and I really want the answer to my question solved: why in God's name does this place have two Coles under the same roof?

  • J TL

Nice small cozy mall. The best Degani restaurant is there. The food their is great and staff are amazing! There are 2 coles stores in there which makes it convenient for stock while shopping. The park at the mall is perfect and Tranquil!!

  • Jordan McNamara

A shell of its former glory. Two Coles supermarkets and that’s about it. Kmart shutting down years ago was the final straw. It has an EBgames, a few two dollar shop’s. Two massage places. Three!!! Pharmacies and a donut king basically.

  • Stephen Farquhar

A great local plaza with everything you need. Groceries, bread, butchers, fishmongers, delicatessens, Doctors, pharmacist, takeaway, sushi, gifts, cafes,... and 2 Coles. Yes, that's right. 2 separate Coles supermarkets in the 1 plaza!

  • B E

Very outdated shopping mall, in need of urgent face-lift especially the older section close to high street smell of urines. The good news, plenty of parking. Next to the mall is an awesome parkland. It is beautiful, clean and massive.

  • Daniel Borg

The centre is in desperate need of a renovation. The quality of many of the shops is bargain basement level and many stores have shut up shop. We only go here to do our grocery shopping from 1 on the 2 Coles supermarkets in the plaza

  • Hank “Chin” Gigante

Poorly set out, ill conceived. It has two Coles supermarkets , and they also removed the Kmart. Virtually no food court and you would struggle to find something decent to eat while you were there. This is very much an in-out job.

  • devec007

To put it simply, it's a little depressing with empty shops, too many discount clearance shops, lack of quality stores, poor lighting and not many people walking about apart from those going to the main supermarket chain stores.

  • LesterStyles

Good range of shops. 2 Coles. Yes 2 Coles. 1 Aldi but 0 Woolworths. For some reason i have a fondness for this place. It ain't pretty but is very functional. Fishmonger down the side is excellent next to the delicatessen.

  • Philip Mcrae

Junior n land but big +++++. K mart have a better selection of fishing gear n Aldi always great on price..alas..NO slabs of storm light beer...both STORMS are top taste n value...CUB...watch out!!!! Will always visit.

  • Amy R

Was served at the checkout today by a man named Rob. He was very friendly and helpful despite being on checkout with a shoulder injury. Helpful, friendly staff make for a much better shopping experience …

  • Helen Lesley

It's quite a good shopping centre, though why two Coles supermarkets? It would be better if they had a KMart or BigW. It does have some nice smaller shops, with the lovely clothes shop and cheap shops around.

  • Jesse Draeger

Parking is busy on weekends and there's the quirk of having two Coles supermarkets... Ready for a major revamp! Sad that Kmart is no longer, bit there are se great delis, butcher, gift shops and cafes

  • Laszlo Abonyi

Not much to see here. But if you like Coles, there are two you can choose from. Has it's own Bulk bill medical centre too! If you hate walking to the shops, why not just rent an apartment above them?

  • Harlim Lefeore

Honestly this place really sucks since Kmart left. Super hard to get a good coffee, the food options are really limited and there’s maybe three shops that are worth your time. Two of them are coles.

  • Lindsay Morley

Much cleaner and brighter than previous visit. Site is in 2 parts, separated by a road. Has several cafes, all well patronized. Not cram packed with customers, shopping is almost pleasurable.

  • M Fuzzer

This mall has some basic shops and 2 coles locations.Aldi is the best retailer in the mall. It is in serious need of a major upgrade. The population in the area deserves better options.

  • Tom Kenny

I have a massive soft spot for this place. Northcote Plaza Shopping Centre is home to the eternal riddle of the mysterious two branches of Coles. An inscrutable enigma. Good parking.

  • Tracey Petersen-Esposito

This shopping centre has what you need, supermarkets, Coles, Aldi, Ebgames, clothing, flowers, beauty & massage, bakery & other shops and cafes but in need of an update/makeover.

  • Ash Sivia

Basic Plaza, has your Supermarket $2 dollar store and bakery. Four different takeaway joints, Liqour store and other amenities are connected but not inside the Plaza complex.

  • Alex Boussioutas

Lost it's charm of shopping there nowadays. Two sets of coles and no Kmart or smokemart and no security to fine the people who don't have a disability displayed on their car.

  • Thomas Liontis

It's a sufficient medium sized shopping centre with places for groceries and other types of goods. It has access to a tram and it's not difficult at all to navigate.

  • Lauren Haines

Ever since Kmart closed the plaza seems to have lost a core part of it that remains strangely empty. Now it's more about running into the good Coles and leaving asap

  • David W

God I hate this place - drab, unexciting shops. Two Coles, with rather standard fare. Last time I was there, all ATM's were out of action. Degani is ok however...

  • Bonnie Grffiths

I like this centre it's not too big and has a little bit of everything. Plus it's close to a shopping strip with a variety of shops. Always plenty of parking.

  • June Magness

Small Plaza but got everything you need. Three nail shops 2 hairdressers + food..even 2 Coles. Nails done hair done tummy happy and shopping on the way out.

  • Rob Pallot

Run down shopping centre in need of a re-vamp. That being said, with two Coles supermarkets and a K-mart it is highly functional for your everyday needs.

  • Arron Stellios

Good place to shop still after 16yrs. Butchers in centre have product lines that most older generations would recognise. Great Service & Businesses

  • Lexie Palms

It's in a great place. Though there are a lot of shops that have abandoned their stores. It needs us to get offline and support our local stores

  • Lyn Reviewer

Food eateries very ordinary. No ambience. Two Coles supermarkets excessive. The plaza both sides very ugly. Need to lift the quality of shops.

  • Kellie Hampson

Not enough shops here, but ok for groceries, cakes and coffee. Thankfully there's Aldi and Lincraft and The reject shop!

  • Grant Deacon

Sad the kmart is closed. Has everything you want for a small shopping mall. In a severe need of a refresh.

  • Tony W

The most depressing Melbourne establishment still in existence. Adding more Coles doesn't make it better.

  • Janina Grant

Nice shopping centre with everything available. Coles, butchers, seafood and enough specialty shops.

  • Morris Demellis

The whole centre needs a facelit. It looks old, dirty and the exterior is covered in graffiti

  • Mara Lucy

A good selection of shops. Sometimes dirty, sometimes homeless people sitting around.

  • Aaron Clifft

Chicken shop has Dim Sims, Potato Cakes and Savs in Batter... What more do you need?

  • Αθανασία Πετούρη

Very bad plaza shopping.!Very dirty Very smell ! Have this very little shopping!

  • Lorraine Doyle

Most day to day needs can be purchased here. Florist , cafes bakeries excellent

  • Natasha Holder

Good shopping centre but just a warning it gets really busy during Christmas.

  • Izzy D

Pretty average. This place has one too many Coles and one too little Kmart's.

  • J Lee

Old plaza selling all kinds of stuffs. Many Eldery people chillax in here.

  • Paul B

It has a few good shops here but no Kmart now and 2 Coles which is weird.

  • Duyen Tran

It’s good enough but a little quiet. It should have more clothing stores

  • adday f

A place within reach for much of your household and social needs

  • Sam Geurts

2 Coles is a bit weird. But the centre has all the essentials

  • Benjamin

Worn down, lacks variety. Go here for a specific need only.

  • Vesna Kostic

You can find absolutly everything in this shopping centre.

  • Mona Taouk

Nice shopping Centre not too big. Maria’s Deli is Great.

  • Con Raphael

LOVE THIS PLACE, MISS THE LACK OF Kmart though …

  • Lyn Parker

Coffee was great but didn't get to the other shops

  • Sheryle Drury

So run down, and stores are deserting the complex

  • Amilliah

Plenty of shops, it's a quiet shopping centre

  • Khoa's World

The most interesting plaza fit for hipsters a

  • duncan metintok

It's the best there, people are all friendly

  • Liam Bennetts

Two stars for two Coles, one for sushi misu

  • J C

Horrible place. Caught in the 1970s. Grim

  • Dave Mcintosh

Should be scrapped..really out dated

  • Maria Giove

It's old but I don't mind it.

  • Matt Finger

No more Kmart but two Coles
