[Disclaimer: Decor score is moot. We only ordered delivery.]This place is a mixed bag. We ordered from No.1 Chinese, Hermitage when we first moved to the area and the delivery was prompt, even during peak times, and the food was pretty good for delivery. Cut to 3 orders later... Delivery time was still OK. The food? HORRIBLE! We threw away the pork fried wonton because it smelled bad. The food was not good at all. We stopped ordering from them. Cut to 1 year later... A brand new looking delivery menu shows up on the door. We worked late one night and decided to give them a second chance. The food arrived nearly instantaneously and was delicious! The fried cheese wonton was light, sweet and crispy. Yum! Cut to 3 orders later... The food arrived in reasonable time and was very good. Unfortunately, the fried wonton were missing from our order. The cherry dipping sauce was there. I figured it had been left out. I called No.1 Chinese, Hermitage and informed the same person who took my order that the wonton were missing. Now, anyone calling a Chinese restaurant knows the perils of the language barrier so I approached the issue with the hopes that the mistake would not be made again or perhaps a refund of the 3 dollar side item. Neither happened. In fact, I was told my Boneless BBQ ribs were in the bag and I was hung up upon. We didn't order ribs. "I guess we won't be ordering from there again...again." My partner dials up No.1 Chinese and politely asked about the missing items, again, with the hope of some mere acknowledgement of the missing food, but no. The person in charge of the phones this night decided to say "You no phone here no more." and hung up on my partner. Cut to 3 days from now..."Hello, , yes I'd like to dispute a charge, please. Thank you." Don't pay cash to a delivery place. Especially, No.1 Chinese Restaurant, Hermitage.
I had seen some pretty great reviews about this restaurant, so I finally caved in and tried it today. I ordered some wonton soup, spring rolls, and a shrimp with lobster sauce combination plate. I didn't manage to eat the combination plate as I found a hair when stirring it (possibly pet hair). I know it happens, even to the best of us, but that ruined the experience. The spring rolls were so tiny, but pretty flavorful. The wonton soup was pretty tasty too! I'm hoping to be able to try their food once more soon, for a more accurate review.

Parking is pretty terrible, as it's quite busy and hard to make it out of there.
I'd like to start by saying this is my favorite Chinese place ever, the food is always hot and accommodating (occasionally I'll ask for more broccoli, ect.) I've never had a bad experience thus far and their kitchen looks very clean. Though I have a few things to point out. Some of the menu items are bad or bland, this seems like a recipe type of thing. In particular the beef and broccoli, the vegetables are very good, but the beef was soggy and seemed off, but the food was fresh and hot, but as I mentioned it might be a recipe thing. Also, another point is the description for the menu items on the website are quite vague. Not a very good description of vegetables included or sauces I'll always recommend these guys to everyone I know and keep eating here when I'm hungry for some hot, fresh food.
Forget wing stop, Hattie Bs or any famous chicken shop in Nashville. They have the BEST fried chicken wings in Nashville, PERIOD!!! This place is def not the most fancy, might not even be a place to sit down and eat but you know sometimes the best food comes from those hole in the wall places!! They also have great deal for lunch specials (only $5.50!!! Everyday from 11am-3pm) but the most special is their chicken wings. They should really be featured on food channel for their chicken wings!!! Let me tell you, I have travelled to many countries, had many chicken wings but I can't even remember the last time I had any Chicken wings THIS GOOD!! Trust me, the inside is JUICY and outside is as Crispy as it will ever get.. just come here for the chicken wings you will not regret it!!!!
I called to place an order to be delivered i asked the lady how much my total was she said its my order i should know....I asked how could i possibly know your the one who is making the prices so after repeating this process about 7 times trying to find out what i owed i finally just hung up she kept on giving me different prices when i did get somewhat of an answer towards the last few trys saying my total was like 40$ for some chicken and some fried rice that i know is around the 8$ range because i've eaten there before i said she was crazy im not spending 32$ on delivery fees especially when i could walk there if i wanted to in 15 mins and drive in like 3 mins these people are idiots and i dont see how they stay in service when they cant even understand there customers
They rush your order but they are very busy people because their food is so good I usually go to them for Chinese food since it is so close to my job. I've order sweet and sour chicken- a+, Egg foo Yung -a+ my favorite, chicken on the stick delicious!!a+ Egg drop soup a+. They serve fast and I haven't had a bad experience with them, other than feeling rushed but I figured that's usual at a fast food restaurant. They do cook really fast! I agree parking is a pain in but however I always turn back out on central pike and go through the light which can be a long wait depending on traffic but I wouldn't take a risk going the other way it can be dangerous when traffic is heavy.
I placed an order, Then sat in the lobby. My 10 minute wait time was actually only about 5:00. The food was as expected

Tony liu, my man, is carrying the restaurant on his back. Excellent customer service and splendid meals. I will make sure to tell all my relatives/friends about this restaurant. The name of the restaurant does it justice.

Food was ok nothing special would go here if Panda Express is closed but wouldn’t make a special trip. Fried rice is just yellow rice not great. Actually tried some more and fried rice is just super sad 0 effort put into it. No flavor at all. Egg rolls were kinda sad. General taus chicken was descent but nothing special. Good price wouldn’t say food was bad just ehh.

This was the worst food I’ve ever had in my entire life and I’ve traveled all over the world. I ordered the orange chicken and the general chicken with egg rolls, fried rice and Rangoons. I’ve never had a bad egg roll until I tried theres. I don’t know what they use for chicken but both dishes made me gag and I had to spit them out. The rice was hard. The rangoons were average at best. Do not order from here you will regret it

Man I just left from there I ordered a boneless spare rib combo. My boneless spare ribs was tough almost close to beef jerky. I’m so pissed right now I will never come here ever again and the rice is not even fried rice its yellow rice and he microwave my rice. Smfh. And they closed on Wednesday so now I got wait til Thursday. I advise you to go to the Chinese store across the street from Walmart right beside Cicis pizza.

The service was good but the food was not great. I haven't found good Chinese since I moved here so I gave this place a try. The moo shu pork didn't come with pancakes or sauce, The sesame chicken sauce was very thick, sweet and sticky compared to what I've had previously and the hot and sour soup was very gelatinous. It was all fine but overall I probably won't be back.

Never ever ever!!! They refused to serve my wife and I after they delivered the wrong food! I sent back the wrong part of the order and because of that and they said "you have trouble here". Like we did something wrong! I went to restaurant to talk to them about it and they were so rude treated us like we stole something. Please do not give them your business they are truly rude this isn't fake or made up, they do not deserve your business.
Best Chinese food I have ever had . Shrimp fried rice . I live on the ocean in Florida and the shrimp were fresh never frozen . The crab rangoon was great . I’m 72 and I have had a lot of Chinese food over the last 70 years . This was by far the best I have ever had

This has to be one of the best Chinese spots I've ever had. The wait was around 12 minutes. I ordered the Sesame Chicken combo with Shrimp Fried Rice, along with a small Egg Drop soup. The chicken tender and the rice was perfectly done. I recommend this place 100%.

When we first moved to hermitage, this was our First meal in our new house. The Rangoons were burnt and soaked in grease. And our Szechuan chicken sauce tasted exactly the same as the beef with broccoli sauce which tasted just like the Mongolian beef. How does this happen? I was encouraged to give them another try, so I called to order food tonight... And he said they don't deliver! Really?!?
I ordered veggie dumplings but they had meat in them! I made sure to double and triple-check with the server that they had vegetarian options available. He said, "No meat. They do not have meat." Yet, they definitely had chicken in them, and I'm a vegetarian! I'm not sure if it was a language barrier or if they just wanted to make money. It was my first time there, and I will not be back.
I ordered the sweet and sour chicken combo there a couple times and the food was decent/typical... ordered the steamed veggies and chicken another day and it was aweful! I could not even eat it.... it taste old, as if it had been sitting in the fridge for a while... Maybe it's because it's not something most people would order but it killed my craving to ever return there...
I called for delivery and the man asked where, then the man said I have to order over $20, I said $20? He said OVER $20. I informed him I am a mile away from his store, he said then come pick it up. I said I don't have a car, that's why you deliver. He said he won't deliver. This place is as others say, very rude. I don't even know how they still have business to stay open.
Love this place! I have been buying my chinesse food there for more than 10 years. Great price for great food, never greasy, and super fresh. Pleople have been confusing this restaurant just because it has the same name as of the one in the news with a sanitation issue. This location doesn't even have a lake in the back ♀️♀️ Stop by and enjoy their food!
Absolutely love this place! Some of the best Chinese food you can get in Hermitage. Quick service always hot food and great customer service! this is always my go-to place for my lunch they know me so well all they have to do is say (same thing?) Lmao definitely recommend this place to anybody who asks for good Chinese food will always be a returning customer.
The food is awful. All I got was pork low mean and white rice. It had no real pork in it. It was just soggy and nasty. I sigest getting the Innovations frozen Chinese food.!!! It is cheaper and WAAAAYY BETTER from Publix. Sorry, I'm just honest.

The dim sum was ok, but the “house special” fried rice was sad. It was plain yellow rice with a few bits of onion and meat in it, a complete waste of money. I used their plain fried rice to make real fried rice the next day. If you’re going to cook sub-par food, you’re going to get sub-par reviews.

I ordered from this place twice because I was desperate for Chinese food, the 1st time the food was alright, the 2nd time I called to place my order the guy that answered the phone had NO manners what so ever! Very rude and impolite. I cancelled my whole order for that reason alone. I will NEVER order from this place again. Don't waste your time.
Good but not great Chinese food in Hermitage. Better than current China Moon (next to Food Lion) but not as good as China Moon before ownership change (mid-2012). We regularly enjoy the Cashew Chicken, General Tso's and Shimp Fried Rice. Kids always like the Wonton soup. Order was correct and on time for a quick carry out.
Traveling through Tennessee We missed our turn to go to a different restaurant and we are glad we did. Outstanding food from this place. Wonderful service. The best General Tsos chicken I have ever had anywhere. I'm just so sad this place is far from my home town. We will stop by again. You all have to try this place!
A few months ago, a man screamed at the over the phone when I asked a question about the menu! He told me he didn't have time for that and that I needed to give him my whole order right away. I hesitated for a moment, and was about to tell him he didn't need to be rude, and he hung up on me. Haven't been there since.
I eat here most Sundays. If you call in advance, they always have the food ready. I can literally go in and pay quicker than most drive thrus. It's always hot and fresh. The service is NOT the friendliest. But the portion size is great. Lunch special is until 3pm. Its a big portion for $5 dollars.
Food is usually ok. We only went there because they were close. Not anymore. When I received something wrong and wondered if I could get my correct order, the gentleman on the phone was very rude and told me I was the one to make a mistake. Will definitely not be coming back to this restaurant.
No.1? Only if I am listing most disappointing restaurants. The rice was over cooked. The Shrimp fried rice had 5 shrimp, a sprinkling of onion, No eggs, no veggies. The second entree was wrong. The taste was bland. The veggies were not fresh. I do not recommend, I will not eat there again.
The food is always great when I do carry out! Tonight I decided I was going to get delivery and I was worried how they would do. It was pretty fast and the food was warm and awesome. Ordering over the phone is difficult with the English barrier but cut them some slack the food is worth it!
Great food and friendly service. The staff was very hospitable on the phone and in person. My food was fresh and hot upon arrival — large portions as well. I feel like I got a lot of food for the money. I tried the Sesame Chicken with white rice and it did not disappoint. 10/10.
I wish I could give 0 stars this was the worst food we have ever ordered. Let alone items were missing and here we sit losing $ and still hungry. I would advise to not order this place to be delivered. It all was so bland and nasty. Needless to say it's all in my trash!

Food is good. But closed on Wednesday's even though their hours reflect they are open. I have ordered food from there for about 10 years and never was closed. If your not open put it on your hours. So if you don't want to cook on Wednesday go somewhere else.
It's nice for a quick pick-up order. They don't deliver and the food is ok. The price is steep for what you get. The parking is the real killer, it's located near a red light but you have no direct lane to leave. If it's not one of the rush hours your ok.
Went there with my bud had the best sweet and sour pork ever. If you were aware they do not deliver. You must drive or walk there if necessary but I will say it is worth it. Try the pork. Rude or not the food speaks for itself. No1 best Chinese yes indeed
I don't care what they say, I like No. 1 Chinese. It's perfect for a quick take-out or if you're close by they will deliver for a small fee. The prices are on par with any other Chinese place. Their food has a good flavor and I've never had an issue. #1

Definitely got what we paid for and they gave us extra spring rolls as a little gift. They gave us plenty of utensils and sauce without us even asking. When we got home our food was piping hot and sooo delicious. This will be our spot from now on.
She hung up when I was trying to order food. She was very very rude. I tried again and she did not pickup. I live in the area. I think this restaurant is bringing hermitage a very bad name. Do NOT give your business. They do not deserve

The lady that works here is a ragingly rude jerk. Her people skills are terrible. BUT the food is always good so if you can get past the verbal and emotional assault by the lady that works here, you will be very pleased with your meal.
Long ago I stopped eating at number 1. The food got really bad and I went to another Chinese place. However, a friend of mine got me to try it again. Its under new management and the food is good. You should give it another chance.
Great place to get your standard Chinese takeout! Everything is delicious, takeout is quick, and people working there were helpful and kind. This is now our go-to spot for when the craving for Chinese food strikes!
I ordered food and got no duck sauce what is this the new norm? I thought duck sauce packets come with the food. Also the beef in the rice was chewy like not cooked all the way i legit did not eat any of the food.

I used to eat here alot back when I lived in town, however they have changed. The fried rice was dry, I ordered the sesame chicken combo platter. Ultimately disappointed.
Food is good and quick service. Can order, get in /out in under 20. Parking is a bit cumbersome but I like this place for a quick take out meal. Will keep going back
Ordered hunna chiken and got mixed veggies, they treat people bad I was a loyal customer, but treated unfair just because they think I don’t know their menus. Bad!!!
I've lived out here for 5 years and been going here just as long. Always so quick and the food is always great. The people who work there are always so kind!
Not the best food.. it was fresh but not super flavorful. For the price, it’s pretty good! Customer service was nice and food was on time for pickup!
The best place in Hermitage. I've eaten from 3 different places in Hermitage and they are disgusting. This is the best and the owner is really nice.
This is my favorite, to go place. We get take out from this location more often than others. Treat you right!
Our favorite fast-food Chinese restaurant in the area. We still drive from Mount Juliet for their meals
Very dirty location, needs customer service, and the Food made my husband very Sick. Never going back
Quick service, great prices, and delicious food. Absolutely found my new go to for Chinese takeout.
The are is not the best but so I was very surprised how good the food is here. I'll be back!
