I had the best salad from here! It was the Salmon Cesar Salad. What a nice dinner in a relaxed atmosphere. I asked for tea and the worker leaned the container forward and it was enough to fill up my cup. Then a few minutes later she clocked out and left. I am giving them 5 stars on everything but, I did see 4 people ask for more tea and it went unnoticed. Most of the patrons just got something different to drink. I don't like a lot of things like coke so, i really wanted tea. They were really busy and everyone was running around. My food came out quickly and it was amazing. I also got a Rice Krispy treat. Don’t do it. Pick another place for catering. I just ate the chicken pesto with a side of pasta salad and a brownie. It was horrible. The sandwich was small and unbelievably dry. I don’t understand why they would make such a bad sandwich. I’ve had it before. This was bad. The pasta salad was like 2 ounce container and the brownie was tiny as well. It was literally a quarter the size of a normal brownie. It feels like a scam. Follow me here. I got this for free right, it was catering. So I should be happy with what I get. But no. My company paid for this. We could have gotten anywhere else. But since this place no longer takes people in the dining area, quality has gone out the door. Aweful service. I purchased a chicken cesar salad. I found out later the same evening about the issues with romaine lettuce. I returned to the restaurant the next day with salad & receipt. The cashier looked at me as if I were speakinga foreign language & called the manager. The manager was rude & short telling me what she couldn't do. After insisting, (I didn't want to waste almost $10 on a salad I was afraid to eat). Finally the manager said she would replace the salad with spring mix. Needless to say, I didn't eat it still being it was the night before Thanksgiving. I certainly didn't appreciate haw poorly I was treated & how poorly the situation was handled. Rude, rude employees. Fair food. I had the portobello pesto sandwich which I asked for without the Swiss cheese and they were unable to accommodate after taking it back and “redoing” it but it came back with the same amount of Swiss and looked like the original sandwich. (They said the Swiss was already in the pesto which wasn’t mentioned to me when I ordered it without Swiss). My mother had a half and half with a tomato basil soup that she loved. Her Turkey sandwich looked like the end of the bin small Turkey pieces put on the sandwich. She was full after the soup so she never ate the sandwich. I think they have good base ingredients but perhaps assembly needs work…..along with special requests.

Awful customer service and poor worker hygiene. Girl taking the order acted like we were bothering her while taking our order. Didn't offer drinks or anything, so I'm not even sure if they came with the meals or not. The only person working was the guy making the sandwiches and food. The other girl at the prep counter was disgusting..... digging/scratching her head, pulling up her pants, using her cell phone, basically laying down on the prep counter, and best of all.... scratching her back ALL with her bare hands, then packing up all the food, silverware, fruit salad, etc. We took the food but wiped down all the packaging she touched. Won't be back ever! Manager train better and please watch the camera footage of the prep girl.

The food is always excellent here and they never seem to be too crowded. I have tried out a lot of their different cakes and they are not only good and taste but large in size. They're half sandwich and soup combinations are great and I even love the cups that they use that I can take home as a souvenir to reuse. The icing on the cake is that the people here at this location are extremely friendly and helpful. I always enjoy coming back here as I meet with friends once a week. Definitely recommend for a great lunch spot and even dinner. They have an app where you can order from your table but I have not tried it yet. Maybe that will be my next thing to try here. On a last side note, their bathrooms are always very clean.

Same as the last 2 reviews...the Cashier tonight upfront taking our order was outright rude, rolling her eyes, not wanting to help when we asked what the sides were and ‘rushing’ us as we ordered $70 worth of food for my family (2 kids, 2 adults). It was 7:30pm and not the slightest bit busy (no one in line or after us in the lobby). This was our first visit here and disappointed that our initial interface with the staff was unpleasant. However, the server and busser were friendly ladies and the food was really tasty! The broccoli cheddar soup, salmon caesar salad, and our sandwiches were yummy. Too bad the Cashier(s) left a bad taste in our mouth, so much so that it prompted me to spend time writing this review.

The food was good, the servers were great. Clean place! But, the table sign said sign up an app account and get a free slice if their delicious lemon cake. Nowhere did it say you had to wait 2 weeks before you could redeem the offer. I downloaded it, signed up, took my phone to the cashier and he stated I would have to come back in two weeks. I didnt argue the point and my husband paid almost $5.00 for a slice. The cake was great, but I am a stickler for companies following through on their advertisement. I deleted the app and may not return...yes, even for such a SMALL infraction. I feel like it was a ploy just to get people to sign up without following through on their end.

Newks has been one of my favorite places for years! I gew up in the same town as the original location in Mississippi, but this was my first time going since moving to Nashville. It was such a disappointment. The pizza was completely dry and overcooked. Instead of basil being on the pizza like the recipe calls for they added parsley. Maybe they were out of basil. If so just leave the herbs off. I guess they were just trying to add something green on top and hoped no one knew the difference in herbs- though they have a completely different taste. A frozen pizza would have been much cheaper and enjoyable.

Newks literally stole money from me. Newks did not deliver all the food I paid for and ordered. When I called and asked for a refund of the food I was missing, I was told by a staffer to call back the next day because they’d were too busy to handle my request and the manager was out of the office. I asked to leave a voicemail with the manager. The staffer refused, yelled at me, and hung up on me. I then called back. After six rings, I spoke to a male staffer. He connected me to the manager Kiki. Kiki said she would give me a refund. She never did. I will never go to Newks again.

If you haven't been to this Newk's recently, good luck. I guess because of staffing issues (?) they've got odd service & hours now. I think you have to go online & order & pickup BUT you can't go in the store ever from what I can tell. They bring it out to you. I often see folks approaching the doors there only to be met by an employee who comes to the door & I guess explains why they can't come in. But more importantly, they don't open on the weekend at all! I've tried going twice recently on two different weekends & they were closed. It's a shame because I used to really enjoy Newk's but it's too difficult to access now. Hope this changes.

LOVE Newk's EVERY time !!! my go-to order is Newk's Q pizza, hold the jalapenos !! I've also enjoyed the Newk's Q sandwich as well as the Ceasar salad and salmon (always a big piece!!!!) I always get a drink, because i love the cups, and when i brought my cup today, they gave me a new one, i guess due to the virus precautions... by the way they have the best straws :-) they also have the best happy people i really enjoy coming here because they are always pleasant and kind. I can't quite give Newk's a five so consider this a 4.5. Newk's delivers with good flavors, portions, and value. Had the chicken Greek salad today and it was a LARGE salad. There would have been plenty there for two people! Also love the station where you can pick up pickles, peppers, cheese, croutons, etc. Great touch. Service was friendly and attentive - especially from the gentleman working the dining room, clearing dishes. I felt compelled to leave a tip even though it's not really table service. Not a frequent visitor but when I have eaten at Newk's it does not disappoint.

I visited the News on West End Ave in Nashville on April 28 2022 at 1:50pm. When I walked in one of the cashiers was busy with a customer but the other girl was leaning on the counter texting, I waited a minute and asked her if she was open, and she gave me this look like I was inconveniencing her and reluctantly took my order. I would have complained to the manager, but I really don’t think they would have cared. The entire staff looked unkempt and disheveled. This location used to be great, but obviously it has gone downhill fast. Just got my food with no tray unbelievable.

Wouldn’t feed this to my dogs. The quality of meat is lower than Taco Bell. These sandwiches taste like something that you can get at a gas station or an airport when you’re starving and are literally out of options. It’s either the gas station hot dog that has been sitting there rolling for 8 hours or this dry sandwich that tastes like it was made out of lab engineered meat. Worst sandwich I’ve ever had in my life. I don’t typically ever leave bad reviews but you literally have to try your hardest to make this bad of a sandwich. Disturbing.

Unfortunately the Newks close to our house has closed. My wife needed soup per doctor's orders after surgery so I drove on to the West End location. At 2:40 pm. I was met at my car to be turned away. They rudely stopped me in my tracks to tell me they were closed. So I politely questioned them again after seeing the sign on the door clearly stating they were open. Again refused service with no explanation. Its sad this is what our world has come to. Getting away with terrible service which is why locations are closing. Shame on yall

Great place for a family bite! Counter service joint, and the servers were super friendly. The variety of sandwiches, pizzas, and other options was impressive. Their signature sandwich was delicious, and the pizzas taste surprisingly good (watch out if you're a tomato-hater like me though... there's no warning about the tomato slices on every pie). Refillable drinks in sturdy cups and a really nice atmosphere mage it a place worth a return trip. Super easy to get to if you're visiting Centennial Park, for instance.

Good food, fast service & easy to see menu boards include calories. Apparently, since Covid more disposable plastic containers are used for dine in. There are meat & vegetarian choices for sandwiches, soups, salads and pizza plus 4-layer cake slices worth the indulgence.

Roomy place. Nice atmosphere. Clean and comfortable. Service was relatively quick. Food was delicious. This is not a sit down table service more of a upscale fast food. While there are a variety of things for people to choose from on the menu, the menu is more focused on quick items like sandwiches and pizza rather than sit down meals. The soups of the day are a good variety though. This is a great place to sit and eat with friends. Staff could smile a little more but were overall nice.

I had a half sandwich of the Shrimp Po'boy and a cup of Lobster and Crab bisque. The bisque came out nice and warm and was creamy and very flavorful. The sandwich had a fair amount of shrimp on it for a half sandwich, not skimpy at all, and it was fantastic. Its a little on the pricy side at 13$(that's with taxes), but was well worth every penny. As a guy who likes trying new places, and this being my first time here, I will DEFINITELY be giving this place my further business.

I ate here today for the first time. A coworker suggested I try Newks. It was okay. It wasn't overwhelming but it wasn't underwhelming either. I had the club sandwich with a fruit cup. The two girls upfront taking orders probably could've been a bit friendlier. The girl who took my order actually told the other employee taking orders to be nice to the customer placing his lunch order with her. I'll probably return for the food. They seem to have good menu options.

The food was great - way better than other sandwich shops around the Nashville area. The service was not so great. The staff didn't seem to want to be there even though I got there at opening. The closing staff from the night before obviously did not clean up as there were crumbs on my table even though I was the first to sit there that day. Don't let that dishearten you though. If you hate the food/service at Panera as much as I do, this is a breath of fresh air.

Called for a to-go order. I was hung up on 3 times. I thought that they may be having issues (high volume to-go etc.) and decided to continue to try to order. Person taking the order was borderline rude and I had to repeat my order several times. Again, I understand restaurants are under stress now. So, I let it go. Picked up dinner order was wrong and food was subpar. I won’t be going back. It’s worth driving to another newk’s location for better service.

Newk's convenient location near Centennial Park makes this casual dining spot a great place to go when you're in the mood for a good sandwich. I have enjoyed this Newk's location as lunch, to-go orders, and catering. Lunch was my favorite as there is plenty of parking and seating within the restaurant. Even though this is a chain restaurant, this is a great budget-friendly option, with a short wait, free parking, a great menu.

I would give this place 4 stars for the food and 2 stars for the staff. I've eaten here many times. I find the staff members to be quite moody which maybe has something to do with management because it's not just one or two of them. Even the same staff members to have served me multiple times can sometimes be very friendly and sometimes you can be very snappy. There is definitely no consistency to the service.

Enjoyed my "Southern Salad". My friend and l would comment both times when we found a pecan piece! When reading the menue we read that it would have chicken on the salad, and it did, but in the form of a scoop chicken salad. It was different but good.

I wasn't impressed at all. I felt the prices were to high for what ya get. A half sandwich there is a 1/4 of what one would get at Subway or any other Sub sandwich place. The chicken salad was okay but the bread was OVER toasted and rather hard to eat. If one has sensitive teeth and gums, ya might want to pass on that. The Lobster & Crab Soup was okay, but not the best I've ever had.

Service was Amazing but the food had a hair in it.. Not a good way to make a 1st impression. I MUST SAY THEY TRIED TO MAKE IT RIGHT by comping my next meal and taking the meal off my check. They even offered to remake the meal but at that point I didn't want any food. I was completely turned off. I do appreciate their efforts. They went above and beyond trying to make it right.

Still a good lunch spot, but without a doubt the quality of the food is not quite what it used to be. Portions seem a tad smaller and the overall quality seems to have eroded. Also, the wait to receive food for in-house diners is longer than it was even 6 months ago. We will keep coming back for now but hope things will improve as the pandemic slowly goes away.

Service was not good. The two girls working the registers were not friendly at all. They seemed irritated with me for saying only "Newks Q to go". They need to be trained better. They let another customer wait for several minutes while they both were talking to a customer that had several questions. He was very irritated and left. But the food was great!

Zero stars. I ordered a cauliflower sausage and pepperoni pizza and recieced the totally opposite. I'm not even sure what type of toppings this is. It appears to be herbs and shrimp. Ordered 1/2 turkey and alvacado sandwich and had bacon added w house salad. Only got half a slice of bacon and the alvacado was such a small sliver I couldn't hardly see it and definitely couldn't taste it!! Very DISAPPOINTED!! When u order a turkey alvacado sandwich u expect to get that! Then pay extra for bacon and don't get but half a piece.

Paid 26$ for the smallest sandwich & salad! They charged me for the wrong thing & when I showed them the receipt they just patted me on the shoulder & said okay & wouldn’t fix it. As with other locations I've visited, the food was very good with great options. The prices are good too. We received our food quickly and the place was generally pleasant and quiet. However both the restrooms needed servicing and when we told one of the workers (the guy making up orders) he nodded but rolled his eyes like it was a bother.

I come to Nashville a few times a month, hotel staff recommend this place. I was Very satisfied! Its kinda like a Jason’s deli, but with more flavor. Food is delicious.

This is their best location in Nashville. It’s always clean and the staff is mostly friendly. They always have their side items stocked (breadsticks, etc). The food is delicious and comes out quickly. We’ve typically go during the week for dinner and some on the weekends. It can get busy as a lot of people get their food to go.

Really good customer service and food. Didn’t get the young ladies name but she was a light skin black girl with a pretty puff ball. It was my daughters first time ordering on her own and she was very kind and patient!

Newk's is one of my newest favorite places on West End Nashville Tennessee. The chicken salad is absolutely amazing. I typically will get a to-go one even if dining in. The soups vary haven't had a bad one to date. The salads are abundant and always fresh. I always take full advantage of the free pickles their awesome

Today 11-17-19 visited this Newk’s location. Was not impressed with its cleanliness and time of food service. Observed Multiple employees visiting the fountain machine vs actually working. Had better experience at other locations. Newk’s has great food but this location has very subpar service.

Wonderful place to eat. Great customer service and the manager Clay is very helpful and kind. All the employees and management team work hard and make some amazing food! My favorite is the chicken ceaser salad and I add lots of roasted garlic from the round table. I highly recommend :)

Placed a To-Go order over the phone and ordered the Royal Sandwich with Potato Soup—get there to pick it up and the staff says “oh we no longer have that sandwich,” after I’ve ordered it and has tomato soup in the bag. Highly recommend double checking your orders-staff needs work.

Great food! This place beats any of those big box "bread companies" any day. My favorite is the toasted roast beef sandwich and the pimento mac n cheese. The ceaser salad is awesome as well. Always quick and friendly just hope you find a place to park.

My experience here was great, delicious salad, I got the Newks favorite, amazing size and mixed flavor, the cauliflower crust pizza just perfect crisp, and the chocolate cake for dessert definitely will be back …

Unbelievably slow service. I ordered a sandwich and a half salad when the restaurant was basically empty. Shouldn't take 30+ minutes. Not even sure I'll get my food at this point. Just wasting my whole lunch break here.

Excellent food, a well-known sandwich, salad, and soup shop, but unfortunately catering exclusively to the lunch crowd. Would be nice to expand hours to encompass dinner with the closing of the other, nearby, store.

Fresh food at great prices and super fast service. Staff was friendly. Really like that they have fresh fruit for a side choice it makes having dessert totally worth the calories. And you must try the caramel cake!

Once you figure out that you order your food than sit down and they bring it to you it was very good. A cup of soup is a bowl a bowl of soup is huge! Large portions and delicious salads, soups and sandwiches!

High quality, fresh food with a large menu and many options to customize your order. Very easy online ordering process. Great portion size for the value. I will definitely be back the next time I'm in town!

So they are curbside pickup/online only currently.. I still trusted them though and they haven't let me down. Awesome sandwiches and salads. I like the newksQ and ceasar salad w/chicken.

I went there last week it's a relaxing spot to have good food. Their salads are just average. I noticed a young Indian guy making pizzas. His pizza was amazing.Give him a raise! More

Lobster bisque is a purée with hot water, save your money. A lot of questionable looking people there makes you wonder about their bathing habits. Go down the street to Jason’s Deli.

They got my order wrong but the Turkey avocado sandwich was good. The chili was ok... taste a little sweet. The cashier was great... She was funny and light hearted.

It's ok. Even if dining in your food will come to your table in a To Go container. Very little chicken in the Cobb salad. Big portions. Will try again and update

The sandwich was fine, but the pizza didn’t have a fresh taste...more like a frozen pizza kind. The place (tables and seats) could be a little cleaner.

I had a prime rib sandwich with loaded potato soup. The prime rib was not tender at all. I thought I felt a tooth come loose from tugging so much.

They forget stuff & give wrong drinks on Uber eats & won't refund it. Don't do it.
