A coworker and I had our wallets stolen from our workplace. I went to this department to file a report. Even though I had proof that $200.00 + dollars were stolen from one of my credit cards, the officer would NOT allow me to make the report stating that it was stolen. He kept directing me to mark it as lost. Why would he do that? I went back and spoke with another officer and he told me that the report was already filed and I could not change it. He then continued to berate me with questions and condescending remarks on why I would mark it as lost. When you are directed to do something by the police, someone who you naively believe is there to help you, you do it. I had to cut him off and get loud and then he understood and gave me the number to the detective. I called for weeks and got no response. The report has not been fixed and I have no faith nor trust with this police department. To add insult to injury, my coworker filed a claim at a different department and her report was filed CORRECTLY and she was told that there is someone stealing wallets all along Central Ave. This could have been an opportunity to stop the animal that is doing this, but this department would rather not be bothered with the work and purposefully directed me to make an incorrect claim. My card was used at the CVS on Central Ave. They have CAMERAS in there and claim that they check ID's for all transactions above $100.00. They never check and I will never know who stole my wallet, nor will they ever be punished for it.

This police department is by far the worst and laziest department I ever seen. The officers that work here should not be there. They write false police report. It took them over 3 months to get back to me for a report for a simple car accident. I only got it after I made a complaint that when everyone remembered and they documented wrong things that never happened in the report and just make things ten times worst. They lie and cover up for one another and I am completely shocked and disgusted at the way they run. They do not answer their phone all time you see them standing eating and talking about nonsense. I never want to use them for any help at all. I dealt with other departments that was on point and very throughly. They need to do better at their job. I would have gave them a negative 10 stars if I could. The sergeants are no help as well. I just want everyone to be a ware the service you get here will not be great your better off using an another department if you can. Not to meation they are so rude and disrespectful like they don’t know they law or anything. Terrible place all time. No one is good. The state and police commissioner needs to do better in the people they hire and how the department is being run because this is a waste of tax paying money.

If i could give a negative star i would. The level of concern they show for the community is so low it’s ridiculous...it’s really sad when these are the people you have to count on to protect you. There is no compassion or any standard level of respect with these officers at this precinct...it becomes a battle to even talk and express what and why you need help...extremely egotistical and ill mannered...and I’m sorry to say this but if it were a predominantly white neighborhood or a neighborhood with Money there wouldn’t be any conversation on these officers and the way they deal with the public. It’s an absolute shame that this is what the forefront of nyc’s justice system looks like....a bunch of asswhole’s with badges.....

I called 311 at 7pm to report a car completely blocking my drive way. I need an officer to ticket the car so I can have it towed. Here it's 12:17 am, and no one has come yet and I have to work tomorrow and can't park my truck. I've been calling the precient directly for the past 25 minutes and have tried ever department and NO ONE PICKS UP!!! Not the operator, detectives squad, report #, community affairs, special operations, domestic violence!!! No One!!!! This is really horrible and heart wrenching to think if I was in some serious trouble in my home, the 47th precinct would be the cause of my death!!! This is what my Taxes pays for, Horribly, unreliable service!!! Thank you for nothing!!!

I drove to Jacobi because my son who is a NR fire fighter was taken there injured. At the light off the hutch I was next to a NYPD car. I told them why I was there and their immediate response was follow us. Lights on they assisted me park asap by the ER entrance and walked me in. I didn’t have to say anything to anyone else. Their words were “this woman’s son is FD and hurt. They escorted me through the hospital to the ER. I barely said thank you - everything happened so fast. I hope these men continue their careers healthy and safe. They should be blessed. I am grateful. They helped me keep my cool by knowing I was t alone. Two first responders; two princes!

I had the cops called to my house on seymour ave officer Hidalgo came with her partner, a nice gentleman and they were able to assist me and diffuse the issue I was having with a tenant, they were patient and understanding and knowledgable of the law, it's nice to know the 47 precint has people like them serving the community, in a day were so much bad stuff is said about cops we should never forget all the good they provide to our communities and society, thank you officer Hidalgo and partner you guys are exactly everything a cop should be, the way you handled the situation was excellent and we are fortunate to have u patrolling our area

This is probably the worst precinct in the Bronx. I had to take my kids to school, there was a car blocking my driveway. Called 311 for a complaint..... 11:30Am I called 311 to follow up. I was advised that because this is a non-emergent situation. I have to wait at least 8 hrs before anything can be done. Even although I explained the urgency that my kids have to be picked up from school. We need a system that will work in timely fashion. Basically 311 & 47 Precinct gave me the impression that my kids are irrelevant and my freedom to have accesss to my tax paying driveway is not important.

The only thing I’ll say is that they do a lot of talking & no help unless they will ticket you or there’s an emergency they come. I personally have had better community relationship with the police in my old neighborhood. You call for a noise complaint they will come at its right time and take care of things, and not give false promises which is bad because these little things turn into bigger things which then it’ll force them to come and act when it’d have been avoidable. Conclusion: Bad policing. Every little call to the police, MATTERS. (Look into the bigger picture)

47th precint. Some of there PO don't want to write a report if the crime did not cause any danger to the victim or the caller. They told me the person tried to get to the home by opening the window but he didnt get in the house after this happenibg twice. meaning (" He did not kill or rape you yet before they can write something.) This is ridiculous. If a civilian see this report as documentation why not the cop?? They will tell you call 911 is a documentation. I dont trust they care must about the pledge. I feel they just dont care.

The cops are racist and unprofessional. I went to file a report against a officer and they gave me the run around. It took them 30 mins to give me the form. after I refuse to accept their response. Then it took another 30mins so I can hand off the report. If you need help take it into your hands or avoid situations that may need a cop. Please don’t think this a real law and protect institution. Officers now a days are In it for a check or there family was a cop. Protect and serve more like where’s my check and nice retirement at...

I’ve made a complaint with Internal Affairs and written the Attorney General. Had a man in my home who became a squatter, threatened me, damaged my property and attempted to hit me. Dialed the police and they literally did nothing! I’ve had incidents where I’ve called and had to wait 2-3 hrs for someone to respond. Got a TRO and STILL they did not show up on time to handle the aggressor in my home or remove him from the premises. Hands down the absolute worst precinct EVER!!!!! I loathe these ppl for sure and I am a Veteran.

Was involved in a minor traffic accident on 9/10/19 at 9:50am . 7 calls to 911 and 3 calls to the Pct. They show up at 3:30pm and I have to cross the street walk 50ft to the police car and interrupt the driver eating that I was waiting for them. He makes a face looks at his partner and she gets out to attend me. I had to pursue them, they didn't come to me. She was very nice and took care of me in 5 min. 5 1/2 hrs later. Very stessfull dealing with the police dept. Lost a days pay. Never got to work that day.l

I wanted to file a claim because someone stole my card and made fraudulent charges on it. I waited 30 minutes to be seen, although there were officers standing around. They looked at me and the other people standing there in such a demeaning, belittling, and condescending manner that made me feel uncomfortable. When I was finally seen, the officer was very sarcastic and apathetic to my situation claiming that it was a waste of resources and they can't help me. Never again.

Well I am disappointed in them, they arrested my husband yesterday, impounded his car and when he asked for a phone call they gave him a lame excuse " oo you have not been arrested before and this is going to be short so you don't have to call your wife to come here" who does that? It sounds fishy because they needed to arrest someone as part of their assignment they arrested him and found something to label him with. Well thank God for lawyers

This precinct is horrible and extremely unresponsive. I have been trying to call them for over a month. You get the automated system asking you to pick an extension and when you do it just re routes you back to the greeting asking you to pick an extension again. If this is monitored by anyone, I need to speak with the property officer in relation to items not returned or someone who will be able to provide compensation to replace them.

With so much bad that could be said about the 47.. I thought I’ll highlight some good, I accompanied my sister to the precinct to obtain information on a issue, we had the pleasure of having Officer Venezia attend to us. Officer Venezia was humble, displayed patience, and was quite knowledgeable. He provided us with accurate information and well wishes on the situation at hand. Great customer service VENEZIA Kudos to you.

The 4-7 is by far the best precinct in the Bronx. Why do I say it? The police are very active in the community, very quick response even though geographically this is the one of the largest precincts to cover in NYC. The 47 consistently give back to the community especially by having great events for the kids. Courtesy, Professionalism and respect truly describe my opinion of the 47th precinct.

I'm 8 months pregnant and have called the precinct on more than 10 occasions to express my concern about traffic patterns on Webster Avenue. Cars frequentl travel 50 mph during the 7 block stretch between 233rd and 240th street. It is very difficult for me to safely cross the street. On no occasion have my concerns about speeding been taken seriously. This is really scary.

Never been so frustrated. Wanted to make a report on a stolen vehicle so I called at 1pm- it’s 3pm no one shows. Go to this precinct myself to do a report- they tell me I had to go to the place of incident then call 911 from there. I got to place of incident and called- 4 hours went by and 4 911 calls later and there’s still no help of the matter.

Don’t rely on calling they come 3-4hrs later Don’t rely on stolen property under 1,000$ to be investigated.. if it doesn’t make a felony case for their quota then consider it gone! U better off solving ur own issues.. had fraud done to me with my bank & went to report it but I was threatened & treated like the Common criminal smh.

They are horrible they don’t answer the phone. They take five hours to come for a place that’s 6 minutes away from the station. I went to fill out police report and was there for two hours just to be told later when I called to pick up police report and was told I have no police report.... Horrible and unacceptable...

Came to this pct because I needed an accident report.the officers greeted me like professionals and were very courteous. I'm surprised from the prior reviews, but I must say they are aces in my book and I am considering writing to the commissioner to gave awards given out to these guys.i love NYPD

These officers are very compassionate well trained yet human beings that treated me with respect before even seeing my face. I really appreciate that someone called the police on me I have mental illness and they didn’t treat me wrong at all! I’m surprised but super grateful! Thanks NYPD!

I called about 4 times for assistance on aparental custody sharing issue for which did not happen because they never picked up the phone. What is the point in having a non emergency number/phone at the precinct if no one is going to aid those who are seeking assistance.

You know, honestly I was expecting poor service but I have to say it was excellent. I just can't lie about that. I went in for a police report on an accident so I don't know if that makes a difference on your experience but I will say that my experience was great.

They never answer the phone and take forever to respond to non-emergency requests! People are constantly blocking my driveway even though I have signs up. I submit requests via 311 and they either never show up or say they showed up and close the ticket.

I am very pleased with this precint. They pick up the phone and help me when I needed it. the police officer who help me was very polite and do everything he could to help me. P.O Carter was very helpful and did not give up until he found the solution.

Nice people, horrible at their job. I don't make reviews often. I tried to file a police report for fraud but was declined by a detective. Obviously if you live in the district you don't really have a choice, but I would highly advise going elsewhere.

made a complaint Sunday. they told me I can get the rest of my complaint number 2 days later... why I called both numbers they provided since 7am and that department is closed... they quick to lock a person up, but wont help those who really need it.

By far the worst precinct..have to grab a report and waiting in a line with like 50 people and only one officer working while the others are laughing and eating lunch..if you need a report that takes 2 seconds steer clear from this pit

I am deeply appreciative and grateful for the assistance that I received from PO King and PO Scala. I also want to thank the many men and women of the 47th Precinct who are dedicated to protecting our community.

I am a business owner in the area. I feel fortunate that I'm located within the 47. I find all my interactions to be very professional and respectful. Any concerns I have get taken care of in a prompt manner.

They responded in an hour to a noise complaint. They spoke to me and returned to see that all was ok. Their early responce sent a very clear message that the cops are watching. I am greatful for their help.

Indifference towards child welfare. Lack of “ Duty of Care”. Failure to report” Child Endangerment”. Oppositional officers and detectives who refuse to take and file complaints on behalf of a minor.

Waited in my car for more then 2 hours for one of these guys to show up to do a police report. I was literally like 8 min away.... unbelievable.
