1 star, but I wish I could give zero. I had called the store asking if they accepted exemptions from wearing a mask, and the lady I talked to said YES. I always call stores ahead of time to ask their exemption policy, and to give them a heads up so as to be respectful. However, whenever I arrived to the store I was very rudely greeted by one of the employees. I was told that I had to wear a mask in the store otherwise I had to leave, and after I said that I was told I could be in the store due to my exemption, the employee literally called me a liar and said I would need to leave. I proceeded to say that I would NOT lie about something like that, and that the team needed to get on the same page because I was told something different. Another employee then approached me and was also very rude and condescending, and said that none of the employees would have told me such a thing and blah blah blah. I am just so appalled and shocked at the level of disrespect that businesses and employees have taken on during this pandemic. These are pure power trips, and it has allowed for blatant, ILLEGAL discrimination. I can no longer ever support this business, mask mandates or not, because I do not tolerate or support that sort of behavior and disrespect. Again, I'm just in shock that I was treated that way after one of the employees themselves told me I could be in the store. No matter the state of the world, and no matter your opinions or beliefs about masks or literally ANYTHING ELSE, no one should ever get a free pass to discriminate or bully.

This store is decent. It’s small but had a lot of the packaged items one would need. The produce, however, always seems to be old, wrinkled and sometimes even actively rotting. It is close to my home but I tend to just drive all the way to Whole Foods if I forget a produce item, since their items are often not fresh. The water, however, is very good. We refill our water here because it tastes much better than Whole Foods. Last week I forgot Thai Basil for a dish I was cooking and called the store to ask if they had it. They said they did so I drove in. No one appeared to be working but I looked for the herb and didn’t see it. After wandering around the store for several minutes and yelling “hello”, the girl working came out from the back. I told her I was the one who just called about the Thai basil and that I didn’t see it. She picked up a container of regular basil and asked if that was it. I said no. She then asked if I had called a different store. I told her no (and recognized her voice as the person I spoke to) and then she said someone had bought all of it since I called. Hmm. It was only 5 minutes ago and from what I could tell, she was in the back doing something extracurricular. She was very scattered and unhelpful, knocking stuff over and having trouble focusing. I was a bit annoyed she had wasted my time. Some of the employees there are really lovely tho. This place is just kinda hit and miss. Yes for gluten-free, dairy-free and organic packaged options. Yes for water. No for produce or consistent service.

I love having this place in my neighborhood. It's conveniently located in the space formerly occupied by the recordBar, beside First Watch, in the shopping center with Half Price Books and Ace Hardware at Westport Road and the Trafficway. I can get everything I need to put a hot, healthy, organic meal on the table, and if I need special ingredients, they've never let me down. A couple of weeks ago I got a call from a a friend who happens to be vegan. She was going to pass through Kansas City and spend a night at my house. Rather than try to figure out what I could feed her from my pantry, freezer, and fridge, I just ran down the street. I was able to get everything I needed to greet her with dinner, have the ingredients for a hearty breakfast and send her on her way with some healthy snacks. It was all fresh and organic and impressed the unimptessible Alison.

Until today I have never written a review but this is one I should have written 1.5 years ago. I will never step foot in this store again. If I could give it negative five stars I would. I was treated so rudely like a second class citizen and kicked out for not wearing a mask while I had an exception. When I started to explain my situation the two employees berated me and the young girl insinuated I could be lying. Those two were power tripping and bullying me and that isn’t how I would ever treat my customers. The story goes on but not worth my time rehashing it. It was very upsetting and I much rather spend my money at Natural Grocers when I come visit KC where I have always been treated with the upmost respect. Shame on all of you.

Not well stocked and so much smaller then old store. I hope they get this place up to the standards they had before. Also I would appreciate the prices coming down a bit life in the city costs money. I think there is plenty of parking. It is a rare opportunity to represent an entire segment of a market and if you are not careful the bigger stores will catch on to the health trend and start carrying the top sellers items in your store for 10 percent less. Work the numbers stop buying stores lower your margins and make the customers Happy. There are several health food chains in Kansas City where we can get your small selection of items for less money.

I walked in to get Yoli tortillas but they did not have them at this location. They do, however, have a decent selection of the essentials in every department and even a few "specialty" items in certain brands. I was actually surprised for how small the place is that the selections weren't too bad. Decently priced, not too much different than competitors. And last, but not least, the people here are just super kind and helpful. I ended up buying some beeswax candles anyways and left with some samples of soap! Will definitely try the river market location.

I stopped in on a whim to look around and met Liam. As we chatted I mentioned I had been unsuccessful in locating a wine I enjoyed. Over the course of the following 2 days Liam went wayyy out of his way to help me locate someplace that carried or could order it. Come to find out he located a place about 5 miles from home. He went above and beyond what he needed to do. Thank You. Awesome place, stop in sometime.

I would rate lower if i could ! I was in here about a week ago and I saw the owner and he approached me and called me voluptious and said he wanted to "piledrive" me and im like what does that mean and he grabbed me by the arm !!! D I S G U S T I NG ! also half my groceries were expired which is incredibly dissapointing considering most of the stuff here is wayyyy overpriced ! Never coming back !

They give 2 receipts per purchase. When I tried to return an item, manager refused to accept because I brought in "the wrong" receipt. Clearly labled store, address, and purchased items. They split hairs so they wouldn't have to refund. Unfortunate because it serves a niche in Westport/Midtown, but not for me anymore. I'll go to Sunfresh or other stores with customer service. Buyer beware.

  • Zeal Zillner

I'm so happy that they opened this store so close to where I live...now I don't have to drive all the way down to the city market... Granted the store is still in the process of stocking their products... And yes it's some what expensive... Nevertheless high quality organic foods are sold there... The people who work there were friendly and kind... Me and my mother go there all the time...

  • Jim K.

Tried this place yet again but they burn heavy incense. I have asthma and it affects me bad. Why a public pace would do this is beyond me. Wanted to support local stores but I guess I must use whole foods. I have asked them more than a few times about this, but I get more or less sarcastic answers. If it isn't incense it's scented candles, always something with these people.

  • Tamara Clarke

This is a very small store, but it has a lot of natural and organic products. There's a small produce section, frozen and refrigerated foods too. They even have cosmetics, beer and wine. They have cold brew kombucha, didn't try it though. Prices are pretty good, small but very friendly staff. Definitely worth visiting, even if you're just looking for a quick healthy snack!

This health market has some items I cannot find in any other health food store in town plus it is a locally owned business that's been in the community for many years now. The staff are kind and friendly. I always recommend, although I can't shop here often because the prices are outside of my budget, it is always my specialty shop for items I need immediately.

  • Dani K

Not sure what happened to Captain Cranky below me, but I’ve never had a bad experience here. (Paying attention to the total before you pay miiiiiight help in the future. Yanno, do your due diligence as a consumer.) The staff are friendly. Prices are decent. Selection is impressive given the space they’re working with. I’ll keep coming back.

I think it's a perfect size for a small bodega with specialty needs. It really is perfect for this area. SO MANY vegan dairy substitutes! Now I can shop for my needs without having to drive 30 minutes to Leawood. So grateful for this place! I will say that it's a little pricey, but hey, such is the cost of supporting small businesses.

This is a nice small health food store. I only found it because we were eating at a restaurant next door, but I return almost weekly now. The staff is friendly and the prices are decent. The produce looked nice and was priced around what whole foods is pricing organic produce. They have amazing sale prices on some of their products!

  • Molly Dillon

I have loved this place since it has been on 43rd street. Their sales can be really good, and on some items they beat Sunfresh prices. On good days their produce can be top notch. I love the local arugula that they sell. Great service. They sell bulk teas legumes, dried fruit, and grains, which is not common in this city.

  • Joel Snyder

I went to this grocery store for some sunflower seeds and then they have Kombucha in their store. I didn't take any photos of this grocery store in the Kansas City, MO area last night, but I think that you'll be able to get most of your groceries at this grocery store!

  • Marie Gail Stratford

This new health market in Westport is great. Staff is friendly and helpful. Prices are competitive. Selection is small but well-chosen. Great place to grab a healthy breakfast on the go or to stock up on bulk health-food items such as nuts and seeds.

  • KCI Chauffeur LLC

Just love the small local grocery store and love the staff here. This is a great place that's not a far walk from the Kansas City Wesport hotels where one can find healthy vegetarian and vegan food options to keep in their mini fridge.

  • Don Baughman

Wasn't really there was at restaurant next door but I have shopped at Nature's own they have everything you need from a bigger super market 90% of food items are organic ,gmo free, vegan friendly clean store and friendly courteous staff

  • Rosalynn Mccord-Bey

It's like a miniature Whole Foods. It has supplements, fresh produce and a solid freezer cooler section for meat, dairy, tofu, jackfruit tamales, etc... It's a bit pricey, but perfect if you just want to run in to grab a few things.

  • Eric Maher

A hidden gem in Westport. Awesome, fresh selection of healthy food at reasonable prices. I got sick of chain stores being out of Oat Milk. Going to shop here now. Lol the staff has been really fun and kind to interact with. …

  • Tracie Smith

I loved this store when it was located on Main street. It is now in Westport in the perfect spot. This store has so many wonderful natural gems! The associates are welcoming and kind. I receive great service and products here.

  • Fran Windler

I enjoyed the music playing over the speakers. Although I'm not very familiar with the store layout I was able to find the items I was shopping for. It's surprising how much product they are able to carry.

  • Daniel Huet-Vaughn

I agree with the person below, "negative stars"...couldn't have put it better myself... place is sketch at best. major sus. like major! sticky fingers...as mentioned below: check those receipts!

A good mix of price to quality for KC let alone availability. KC food prices are 20-100% higher than in KC. That is not an exaggeration.
