I tried to exchange my daughters change from her money box into notes (normally we just pay it into her account but she wanted to spend it).. I was told I would have to pay it into her account and then draw it out.. she has an ISA so we couldn't do that, she then just refused to change it for me. I thought this was a bank?! It's also apparently impossible to change your home address with this bank. I have been trying for over 3 years now and my daughters statements and communications are still going to my old address. After finding out today that it still hasn't changed I attempted to get it changed again. I was then told she can't accept my driving license as identification because its got my new address, I then gave her identification with my old address and she said she can't accept that because it's my old address and she asked for my passport. Obviously that's not something I just walk around with. So she just sat there scrolling and clicking and not saying anything. After being in there for quite a while and just feeling like she's stalling and wasting my time and not actually doing anything, I asked for her name and the number of head office. Another while of scrolling and clicking and her telling me "sorry there's alot of numbers to chose from", I just asked for her name and ill find the number online myself. I will be looking for a new bank tomorrow.. Edit: (reply to the response) .. I do not have an adult account with you, just my daughters junior ISA, hence why I said we couldn't pay it in to draw it out. I think a bank refusing to exchange change into notes is actually appalling and a procedure that needs to be assessed. And thank you for telling me how to change my address. As I said, I have been trying to change the address for my daughters account which doesn't include mobile or online banking and I have tried numerous of times in branch. The most recent time due to my driving license not being accepted as a valid form of identification. I'm confused how I am able to change my address over the telephone with no visible Identification, but I am unable to change it in branch with multiple pieces of identification? Maybe your staff in the branches need to be retrained on updating customers addresses, as it has now been multiple members of staff that have failed to complete this simple task.

I noticed an old account with Nationwide and you can only close an account online or in person. I dropped in expecting the account closure to be a nightmare. I asked at the help desk and the nice person on the desk said the counter could do the closure for me. I went to the counter and they had the account closed within 5 minutes. Excellent service from the staff. I'm with Starling now and the features of their app and their business model are where I see the future of banking. However this quick visit makes me wonder if there might be some place for a face to face service in the future. Once legacy banks have reformed and modernised. Maybe. Oh and sorry Google I marked this as perminantly closed. It is, in fact, still open. There was another bank next door that closed and I was getting them confused.

Really poor costumer service. After taking right documents they did not even bother to check. they wanted ID card I provided resident card and the lady said I can’t take this.she wanted my license because that a right photo id and resident card isn’t. I Went to give my proof 3 times they do not help or take any documents. I even took my bank statement they didn’t take that either as it wasn’t the right proof. Never going again.

Like most banks and building societies, just make sure you are not in a rush. Can take ages to be seen to, at cash counters or the customer services. Some staff are friendly, some are well, no words to use for them, but it is still no consolation for the time you have to wait in the queues. Saturday is normally a nightmare.

I visited this branch a few times since moving to Leicester and I've always received some level of good customer service. However yesterday I came into the branch with a few questions and was served by a young gentleman named Krish. He made me feel at ease and all my question were answered. Great customer service.

I visit the place on an infrequent basis however I did have dealings there this week. Suggest you visit off peak times or you find the queues are quite long. I have never has any complaints with the service the staff have always been friendly and helpful as I found when I visited yesterday.

Male staff in Humberstone gate branch called ido was very very impolite, rude and very unprofessional. He is not suitable for dealing with customer needs. I felt he was kind of depressed and sick. Other staffs was so far very friendly and professional

Such a delightful experience today. I've come across an employee named Jyoti who provided remarkably swift help. All the works got done in few minutes. I found the staff polite, helpful and knowledgeable. Keep it up Nationwide!

Very poor service. Indian lady is extremely rude, has no manners or common courtesy. Went in with a query as an existing account holder and was treated with disgust. Avoid nationwide Leicester City centre branch.

Pathetic bank and service, service is rubbish the staff said it's a 48 hour window for a response to a issue with my account. Still waiting after a week.
