Terrible customer service. In 2017 after close my checking account and finish relationship between me and National bank by the manager without any explanation, I do not have access to bank card, online banking service and statement. He only gives me a letter that forces me to pay it every 28th of month (by automatic charge system from my TD account but it never happened).I have to pay it by person in branch. So far I did 36 months but some time 28th either is on weekends or holiday and I have to wait for next business day to pay bill. Some time I have to work in small village that I don’t have access to any National bank branch, so I have to pay my bill before 28th as a prepay bill. However the system does not consider it for bill just accepts it as a extra payment and it impacts on my credit score and I lost around 68 points because of The report. I don’t have any way to access the line of credit information such as statement, so many times I request him to explain and answer my questions regarding the line of credit. He doesn’t respect customers.

I find the staff of National Bank located on 780 Baseline road completely incompetent, uneducated and unaware of the fundamental rights of the client. I deposited a significant amount of money through another financial institution in this bank and I was told of a hold on funds for ten business days. After FOUR MONTHS, I wrote a check to settle a transaction at another financial institution and BNC did not honour my check. I visited the bank immediately to inquire about the reason. I was told that the manager had put a hold for SIX months (!) of which I was never informed. This act of staff not only shocked me, it infuriated me and I called the head office. I got my funds eventually but the damage had already been done of a bounced check plus mental stress and terrible pressure. I made a complaint and asked for redress; the response was negative, uncourteous and unacceptable. When I contacted the manager, Mr. Brian Ballinger, he was indifferent to my concerns. I closed my account at BNC and would never advise any one to deal with this branch.

I do not recommend banking here. I opened up a mortgage on my first house at this location. BIG MISTAKE. They ended up charging me life insurance even though I waived it. My mortgage broker Tyler Ross (stay away from him. Works at the Kanata location) would not answer any of my calls or emails for two weeks. He completely ignored me. I even called the bank directly and left voicemails and noone got back to me. Finally after two weeks of this nonsense and being ignored I went to the bank and dealt with it in person. They removed the insurance and got my money back. Overall horrible experience and would not recommend this bank to anyone. Only reason I gave them two stars is because the broker named Fidelite dealt with the situation right away and got my money back.

I made an appointment last week and confirmed all the details on opening my account. Stated service Canada won’t replace my G2 with anything other than paper until I do my G, service Canada also stated the expiry date is not effective and my license is active I confirmed this last week at an appointment and he promised me it was ok They are liars, this low life useless account manager lied to me right to me eyes and acts as if he is better than me today Go somewhere else, EQ has 1.75% interest l. These clowns will look you in the eyes and lie to you UPDATE: the bank has contacted me and offered to resolve the situation. They were courteous and professional and thus I updated this to a 3 out of 5 tentative on resolution to 5

I received exceptional customer service from Mary Grace. She was very helpful and went above and beyond to both resolve raised issues and provided experience that will want to make a customer to come back and/or remain with National Bank. It is also worth mentioning that my recent experience is a repeat of such exceptional service from Mary Grace (the first one was over a year ago). This suggest her consistency in the provision of such service and obviously a great asset to National Bank. Her very commendable professional and friendly manner truly helps to portrays the bank in the good light.

In office service is excellent. People are very helpful. However, in these days where in person visits to places are discouraged, the National Bank of Canada needs to improve its channels of contact. No one seems to answer the local telephone, the robotic answering service does not seem to understand names, the main line to National Bank of Canada has extreme waiting times. While I noticed a review answer saying to contact by messenger, there is no messenger button to contact for the local branch. I am trying for the second day to get a call back

I had appointment today to open up a new account with National Bank, as a first time customer I can say i was very pleased with the customer service. As i waited for my appointment inside the branch I had multiple different employees ask me if there was anything they could help me with and they were all extremely nice. The advisor who helped me get my account opened up was extremely helpful and very knowledgeable. He was able to help me with everything i wanted to do as well as answer all of the questions I had.

This is my 2nd visit to this location. I visited first time to this location 2 years ago and had no valuable experience. However, this time Marry started process my request less than 10 minutes. (Only one person was serving at counter, i guess that near closing time in holiday/pandemic time). Then Ghilslaine Fleury-Rowland took over the process explained all and completed as i requested. She was very trained customer friendly staff, polite and offered useful advice. I'm very happy with the service!

Terrible and irresponsible bank services. No one takes responsibility for anything. I had a request which was vital for me but they made a mistake and they didn’t accept the consequences of their job and at the end they built a reason and shoot the problem in my side. There are some advisors there which do not care about the customer. I am gonna make a complaint about their service and I hope I can be successful. I do not suggest them to anybody. Awful awful awful and useless

This is a small bank that is more about personal basic service than a one stop shop. Keep that in mimd, as it is not like some of the bigger banks where you can walk in and out with your product or service in under 10 minutes. With that said, you do get a personalized experience where they call you by name and can predict your needs. The staff at the Baseline location are great and work hard to make sure you get what you need. They are the ultimate multi-taskers.

My business partner and I have been facing an issue with Customer service for almost a week. Could not reach anyone for help. I showed up to this branch and Mary Grace gave the best experience. Not only support when I arrived, but also following up with referring me to the respective the specialist. She has done her best and more. I would have given 0 stars to NBC if it wasn't for her. Nobody was able to support but her. She adds value to the branch. Cheers

This bank does not accommodate its clients at all! The hours of weekday operations are from 10am-3pm and they are closed on weekends, so basically they expect clients to take time off of work in order to receive in person service. No one at the local branch returns calls, clients are always referred to use there online self- service services and when you call in for customer service they will make you wait for a representative for over an hour each time!

I am very concerned about this bank. I paid my loan 10 days ago and I am supposed to receive an email and I didn't then I called 5 days ago and still no solution, I feel like they don't care about this by the way I am supposed to pay this loan by 5 years from now. I really would like to thank Mary Grace because she helped me to get through my problem and she was kind and respectful. Sometimes these people can change your perspective to anything.

If a chain is only as good as its weakest link then a bank is only as good as its weakest branch. This is undoubtedly one of National Bank's weakest branches. If you apply for a National Bank card and are asked to bring ID to a local branch, choose any branch rather than this one! They will take it and promise to forward it onwards to the assessing department and then totally forget to do so. Their incompetence is quite epic!

I understand that this is hard time we all are facing, but yelling at the customers is not an option! This is unacceptable!! And I am talking about the a specific worker, she was yelling at my dad on the phone. But the manager of customer service her name "Mary grace" was so polite, kind and respectful. She immediately fixed the problem and apologize to my dad and to us. Thank you so much for this service

Mary Grace came to our rescue when we could not get a hold of our mortgage specialist, no matter how hard we tried!!!. Mary Grace went above and beyond the call of duty to help us! I am very pleased with her service as she is courteous, attentive, professional and engaged. Bravo NBC for hiring her and pls recognize her as she is truly one of a kind!

I went to this branch during the weekend to do some banking and setup online access. My experience actually was very nice! The front teller, a yang gentle man Matt was very friendly and Mary the bank manager spent quite long time to help me to set up my new online account, nice and patiently! I had to work with this bank for over two months because of all the things that I needed to complete and the professionals always showed kindness and respect. Incompetent staff, terrible customer service, overall, the worst banking institution I've ever dealt with. I regret transferring a mortgage here and opening an investment account in the last year. Laughable financial advisors and "investment specialists" that know little more than the absolute basics. Avoid this branch at all costs.

They don’t want to see you there. They are always laughing and joking in the back office. This branch is like a ghost town. There is no one at the front desk 50% of the time. When they finally come to the front desk they will question you why you couldn’t use the ATM machine to complete this deposit. What a joke!

I am a very happy customer. I was served by Mary Grace, she was very helpful for my financial needs. From my experiences at National Bank, they have been more reasonable in approval for mortgages. Other banks have been overly strict and seemed impossible to get approved. The staff are professional and friendly.
