It's hard to believe that we've lived in the neighbourhood since 2000 and only got to know this place in 2022. Dennis, the owner, is friendly and knowledgeable. We will be back here for our car repair needs. My rating is an average of each of our visits, rated and described below. --- Visit #1 Sometime in 2022 Rating: ▓ ▓ ▓ ▓ ▓ (5/5) I stopped by to ask if they accepted used motor oil. I spoke to Dennis and he kindly directed me to their collection container. Much appreciated. --- Visit #2 Sometime in 2022 Rating: ▓ ▓ ▓ ▓ ▓ (5/5) Some plastic cladding came undone beneath our 2014 Toyota Prius and my wife stopped in to see if they could secure it. They did it on the spot... and at no charge. How very kind! --- Visit #3 Jan 26, 2023 Rating: ▓ ▓ ▓ ▓ ▓ (5/5) The passenger side front fender liner came loose from our daughter's 2009 Honda Civic and I had to cut it out to remove it. I stopped by to see if they could repair or replace it. Dennis took the car on the spot - good timing - and said they'd check it out. Ian, the technician, noticed that the driver's side fender liner was starting to come loose and was able to secure that one and reinstall the other. I'm very pleased with the service and the value.

First visit was a great one! Denis squeezed me in for a long overdue oil change. (Usually, they ask for a few days notice for appointments.) Denis was professional, and thoughtful, and also a funny guy. Even though I was there for an oil change, when they noticed my battery was low, they put the car on a charger while they were waiting for me to pick it up. Classy touch. I noticed they also checked my anti-freeze concentration and lights, etc. The price of the oil change was less than they quoted over the phone (though I have a small car which may need less oil than most). How rare is that? Nice location at the end of Pleasant Park. The nearby Elmvale shopping centre with a Loblaws/YIGs is only a five minute walk away. I'll be back ... highly recommended!

I’ve been coming to this place for more than a year now and I’ve never experienced more professional and friendly service at another mechanic shop. They go out of their way to help you out (for example not charging me for checking my tyre for a leak) and their services are very reasonably priced. Dennis always provides exceptional customer service, making clients feel comfortable and valued while maintaining a wonderful sense of humour. I would HIGHLY recommend this place to anyone looking for trustworthy, affordable and friendly service.

I have recommended this location to quite a few people. These guys are great with cars! This location is not only friendly, they are understanding and get that some people need to save up for repairs. I have to save money for repairs, so when they notice a potential issue or future repair, they tell me and even give me the estimate so that I can start preparing for it. They are also very accommodating when it comes to unexpected issues that I have had with my car. Always fitting me in and repairing it quickly - even with no appointment.

Best garage I've ever been to. Was expecting to have to wait a week to get into a garage but they were able to squeeze me in same day (they let me know that's not normal but just worked out that way). Extremely quick oil change, reasonably priced, and they looked into a noise I thought could be problematic which turned out to be a mistake I had made and they rectified it for me. Great senses of humour. Will be using this garage exclusively on a go forward. Props to the owner and staff on how they run things.

My husband and I had to drive 6 hours from home to make a hospital visit at Ottawa General. The night before we were due to return home our engine light started flashing.We called numerous Hyundai dealers to see if they could help and no one could. The front desk worker at the Rotel gave us this number confident that they could help. We were there 15 mins later and our engine was being checked. Staff was so nice to deal with and they went above and beyond. I would 100% recommend!

Always a pleasure! Denis and his associates are always so willing to help and honest about the work that needs to be done. They’re also really great for explaining things in terms that I understand! This is the only place I’ll bring my car! Once I brought my car to Canadian Tire because it was shaking and they had told me I had a million things wrong with it, I called Denis and went to see him right away - turns out there was snow built up. So thankful for his help!

Friendly service and great work. Always Satisfied with the work they do. I trust them. They have saved me many times. Dealership wanted to charge me $1000s for something very simple. J&D fixed it at a fraction of the cost and the work done was great. I recommend them to all my friends. I live in a different town and drive to Ottawa to have my cars fixed by them.

they are honest, give options as to recommended repairs or maintenance, always friendly. and will help even if you have no appointment. they will do what they can the spot and recommend anything else that needs to be addressed, but also what can wait (easier on the budget). I recommend them to everyone that I talk to about car repairs. 100/10

I bough my used car just over a year ago, and J&D has quickly become my go-to garage. I trust the team to give me a complete overview of what's going on with my car before any work is done. They are also transparent about price and honest about what options are best for me and my car. A bonus, you’ll always get a good laugh in with Denis.

I've been a regular for four years, and these guys are the best. I just took the car in for an oil change -- not only did they check all the fluids, brakes, etc., but they even gave the interior a clean. Corny humour, and honest, great service, definitely the place to go if you're looking for a mechanic. They always go above and beyond.

Dennis is a friendly, knowledgeable, fair and patient mechanic and I am so glad my neighbor recommend his garage to me. I don't stress about going to see the mechanic anymore.

Great service! Dealership said the breaks are kinda thin and they should be serviced (for 240$ or so). For a car with less than 10,000km on board! Dennis said the breaks are good for a couple of years, at least! Saved me the money! Did you know they automatically check the breaks every time they change your oil?

Best shop I've ever experienced. The atmosphere is fantastic, service is reliable and professional. My Dad has been taking his vehicles here for many years and they always take the best care of him. Be prepared to leave in a great mood, with a vehicle that's fixed properly and at a reasonable price.

These guys are fantastic! They always go above and beyond with their service and aren’t shysters trying to get a quick buck from customers, like a lot of shops get a bad rap for.. The man who is often at the desk is the best. Super friendly and funny. The only auto shop I’ll go to in the city.

I was sent here by a friend after I had some issues with my front brakes. They were very friendly and had my car back in working order the same day! The invoice was clear and they only preformed work that needed to be done. Finding a reputable mechanic can be difficult, look no further!

Lovely peeps! Looked after us when we had concerns that our tyres were punctured but they reassured us that it was the sudden drop on temperature that caused the warning light to come on so topped us up for free and advised to come back if any issues. Great service! Thanks!

I continue as a client because I get the BEST service from J&D AutoTech. They do excellent work - a quick oil change inspection and tire change. Plus, they treat me very well. Denis is very kind (and funny) which makes waiting for my vehicle time easily spent.
