Rarely do I write reviews mostly due to the reason that I never received exceptional or horrible service that warranted the effort of writing a review. Today is an exception to the rule because I had such a bad experience that I think other potential clients should be aware of it. Just wish that I could post a video here so people could visualise why I am so unhappy. All starts with a crack on my windshield decide to go to DR Du Pare-Brise which is part of alex pneu et mecanique on Cadillac street Montreal. I am given a quote of $500 (for a new windshield) and given an appointment on Friday, told that the job would take half a day. I drop off my car on Friday just before 8 am, by 13:30 I still have not received a call. I decide to enquire on what the delay is by calling them. I am given various excuses and told that the car would be ready before closing time which is 17:30. Shortly after 17:00 I pick up my car being in a hurry I admit I made the mistake of not properly inspecting the windshield before paying the balance and leaving. The next day I notice that all the trims around the windshield are loose and that when I drive there is an annoying whistling sound. On Monday I bring the car back to complain about the work. I am served by the owner’s son who examines the car and agrees that there was no reason for the trimming to be loose and cracked like it was, says to me that he would have to order new ones. By Thursday still no news from them so I call them and get the usual excuses. Finally receive a call on Friday that they received the trimming from Nissan Canada that I could bring my car in and that it would fixed the same day. So I bring the car in. To no surprise I received a call an hour later with another bunch of excuses that I would have to go back on Monday to have my windshield and trimmings re-installed. Now seriously how many days does it take to "PROPERLY" install a windshield? I explaining to the employee that I cannot afford to waste 3 different days for them to properly do what they were already paid for. I ask to speak to the owner. To his credit the owner did call me back, the summary of the conversation is that this situation is “out of the ordinary” and that" I don’t seem to understand the problem". Well here is the part that I do understand. (1)I paid $500 and definitely did not get what I paid for (2)It is ridiculous to ask a client to come THREE different days to get a windshield properly installed, a job that should have taken half a day at most. (3) My car was returned to me with chipped plastic and loose trimmings around the windshield. (4) When driving I have to deal with an annoying whistling sound that didn't exist before your staff touched my car. I explain to the owner that I do not want his staff to further mess with my car or patience. When I picked up the car at 14:00 pm there was orange tape holding the trims around the windshield. Hard to believe but the car was in even worse shape then when I brought it in!! I then bring the car to vitre lebeau where I am given an estimate of $377 to fix this mess(to which I left a deposit ). So a total of $877 for a new windshield !!! Thank you Alex Pneu mechanique for your amazing customer service a whole 1 star worth of it!! I used to be a regular client there for the Krown rust proofing (for the last 7 years) but never again will I set foot in that garage…. huge X on that place, will look into placing a complaint with la protection du consommateur, it is only fair that this kind of outrageous service be documented!! ****I have attached pictures of this "mess"******

Absolutely terrible experience. I went in for a SAQ inspection because I have moved here from Ontario. I called ahead to find out how long it would take and made sure to mention that my truck has a 2.5" inch lift that is of good quality and was professionally installed. They said no problem, the inspection would take one hour. After waiting for more than 4.5 hours they finally said it was done. My truck is a 2000 4runner but it is in excellent condition with low kilometres for the age. It has been taken care of very well. I love my truck. I expected some things to fix but was floored with their bill. They charged me nearly $3,000 dollars in repairs. Many things I simply didn't believe as I do a lot of my own work and go through my truck regularly. I was told my truck had a sever oil leak however I had never seen any indication of it where I park. They said it was the head gaskets. They also said I needed a new muffler tip because mine had 2" cut off the end to accommodate an aftermarket bumper...that's fine. However, that changed to me supposedly requiring a whole new exhaust because mine had a hole in it...which I had never seen or heard for that matter because the current muffler was only three years old. These in addition to a bunch of other things that looked like 'make work projects'. When I picked up my truck after they had finished I started driving home and within 10km my truck smelled of burning oil and had smoke billowing out the hood. I opened it up and found that they had cracked both my valve covers while changing the gaskets (picture attached for reference). Apparently torque wrenches are not an SAQ certification requirement at this location. About a week after this my brand new muffler started howling like my truck was straight piped. I looked underneath and found that they had installed it so poorly that it blew a gasket after only 100kms of use. Rather than take my truck back to them again I've started making the repairs myself to ensure safety and that they're done correctly. I've also had my truck reviewed by another mechanic to ensure the remainder of their work doesn't do any more damage. I'm not sure how an Auto Mechanic that doesn't use toque wrenches or follow OEM factory specifications is expected to ensure safety of vehicles being imported into the province of Quebec. Take my advice: if you care for your vehicle and your wallet avoid this garage at all costs.

This place is a rip-off! I went to get my SAAQ inspection done by them,they did the inspection and I was given the report of repairs needed.I had all the repairs done and went back for the reinspection and they told me that the front shock absorber that was replaced was not good and one headlight needed buffing and they could do it for 26$ , even though i had it buffed .The clerk at the counter said that the car would not pass inspection , but they could change the shock and buff the light for 750$ and only then the car would pass the inspection and they had time to do it that day .I told the clerk that i would not pay this amount and my car should pass the inspection since i got all the repairs requested done , so he said let me see how I can help you ,and after punching some keys on the computer he said that he can do the job for 550$ .Again I told him that I will not pay a penny so he said even if i go to another inspection centre they will say the same thing, I asked him to buff the light and i will go somewhere else for the inspection.Strangely he said that they had no time to buff the light that day even though for 750$ he had time to do everything that day. I left from there and went to the SAAQ inspection centre the same day and my car passed inspection . It is clear after reading many of the reviews about this place, that I was not the only person that had this negative experience .

Ask a lot of questions about the cost, price, and yes paperwork makes good friends (get it in writing). A tire installation (summer to winter) will cost you 30% more than (24$/per tire) when you ask how much to install winter tire. The true cost is $27, but they won't tell you they change out the tire valve (the insert inside schraeder valve , not the whole valve). I asked why would you change out the tire valve on a new car? They said we do it for all our tire changes. Even though my vehicle had less than 1000km (new vehicle) with there reasoning if you get a little rock stuck inside the valve the tire will leak (LOL). But who are you to believe that they "really" changed the tire valve when they charged me for my own winter tire bags. I brought my winter tires with my own tire bags. And when I took out the tires from my trunk, I was somewhat surprised to get back my old bags on my summer tires. I emailed and called, nobody bothered to come back to me, no surprise there, they have my money, right? This is another example of why mechanics / garages get a bad reputation, some garages are more sneaky / shady than others. Like Alex Pneu Mecanique Mario Petard Inc. Oh, and they will write back to say, "sorry that you were dissatisfied about the service". But they will STILL keep the 30% over charge ;P

Please do not go here. I went here because it was close by. I only decided to read the reviews after my experience with them. To start with, their prices are far more expensive than any other garage. However, I knew that going into the situation. They will try to milk you for every penny you own. The advisor, Joe, came off very dishonest, and whenever I asked follow-up questions, he was not able to answer them coherently. He will also try scaring/manipulating you into making decisions/ repairs. I have an older car which is worth roughly 2-3k, and the guy suggested 3-4k of repairs. Completely illogical and unreasonable. Why would I spend twice than what the car is worth. Furthermore, Joe suggested replacing entire parts that were estimated at $500-$1000 for repairs. One week later, I went to another mechanic and it cost me 1 hour labor + part. I feel horrible about going here. I see they try to reply to every negative review and justify what happened. Please don't bother. REPLY: Please take a look at how many 1 star reviews you have. There are tons. You think everyone is dishonest and out to get you, or do you think your practices have room for improvement? Food for thought. all the reviews have similar features. You suggest the most expensive option and are not entirely honest.

This place is a rip-off! It's a terrible place. They will see you as a cash cow This place deserves a Fraud Investigation or at least La Facture - Radio-Canada comes and see how they’re operate I went to get my SAAQ inspection done by them,they did the inspection and I was given the report of repairs needed.I had all the repairs done and went back for the reinspection and they told me that the all repair was not good and they could do little price as $3,200 dollars on a truck face value $5,000. My truck is a 2003 Thahoe but it is in excellent condition with low kilometres (170,000 kilo) Be aware they master the art of: 1) It’s worse than we thought : After the initial inspection, the mechanic identifies the issue to be worse than anticipated. 2) High scare equals high profit 3) Buying new tires for a flat 4) up-selling 5) Since we already have your vehicle in the shop, you could facing this speech “your car can’t circulate on any Quebecs road “ cuz they will recommend a series of additional repairs that are “urgent.” «Meilleure » Long story short: don't go there

Hi, Please don't come to this garage. If you bring your car for maintenance, these people will find anything to fix in order to charge you money. For example, I brought my car there in the beginning of december 2018, they told me I need to change the air filter for the car. I asked them when should I change it again, the mechanic guy told me the air filter last for 22,000 km but you have to change it next year or the year after!!! Every year, my car mileage is more or less 5000 km only thus 22,000 km is about 5 year. So these people are crooked that want to change every 2 years!! If you look carefully, these people get only 3.6/ 5 by Google reviewer for that reason also. This was my 2nd and last visit at this garage for maintenance purpose. I will be back only for anti-rust maintenance. Update 2019/09/03: I am taking a chance and going to go with them for anti-rust maintenance in the next few days and see how thing is going. I re-read their reply and feel that I made a mistake in misjudging them. I am offering my apology now.

Never had a worst experience with a garage. Stay away. Went for a simple inspection with a customer to sell my car. My Volvo had a speed sensor alarm on and we wanted to know if it was the sensor or the ABS module that was defective. They convinced my customer to take an overall inspection and that it would take 2h, results : 250$ cost and they found some defects and explained that they couldn't find the source of the sensors problem without another inspection with some special equipment. Normally an inspection takes less than 40 min and cost around 40-50$. We decided to go to a Volvo garage instead. They inspected the car, found that all the problems listed by NAPA auto we're all not problematic and found all completely different problems. It also took them 5 seconds to visually see that the speed sensor was physically broken and this second inspection cost 30$. My customer and I feel cheated. Stay away from them if you care about your car, your money and your emotional health. Hope this review is going to be helpful to you.

Sales team representatives are well trained to rip off your money.. Up-selling their stocks & accessories though yours is working fine. If you find best price in the market, they pretend to place an order and keep you to wait until end of day and come up saying that the item which they placed was delivered to wrong address so they are offering their stocked item in discounted price (NOT really) and forced to buy it. Drama makers and very much focused on snatching the customers pocket. Went for an inspection but ended up paying around $700 for tires though my car was successfully inspected from Ontario just 2 months back so please Careful!! Technicians/Mechanics are perfect, seems honest.!! 24-07-2020. Brought my old tires to the local mechanic for a second opinion who checked and informed that tires are in good condition and not required to be changed for a while.

I went here because it was the only shop on the SAAQ list that would take me for an out of province vehicle inspection in a timely manner. I did appreciate that. Everything else that happened there is a racket. My car, an Audi S had not been driven for 5 mos. Because I was rear-ended just before I moved to Quebec. The car was repaired to insurance company satisfaction before loaded to be transported to St. Eustache. It failed the motor vehicle inspection at this place within the space of 15 minutes. The remedy was, new brake pads and refurbished rotators. Never mind that the vehicle had new rear brake pads in 2021. The cost was in excess of $2200. I made the guys payroll for the month. And it appears that such is the cost of getting a vehicle inspected in Quebec. A steady stream of business whether required or not at top dollar. I will never go here again.

Fraud people here, they will fix your car without letting you know how much it will cost. Incompetent staff taking 3.5 hours to diagnose problem in car and they want us to pay for that time which is useless for their incompetency. Please don’t go there, I’ll not recommend at all. They are dishonest people, may be it’s just battery problem (as I checked today from Ford Service) but they made while story to cone people. Who the hell will charge for removing water from carpet $470 although they initially claimed $597. Surprisingly they didn’t inform that they found problem and going to fix with x amount etc) because they knew very well the problem solved automatically when the reconnect the battery. Totally not worth to visit these guys.

This place is a bit of a rip-off imo. The worker who did my car inspection was a guy named Vich. From the 1st appointment he seemed like he wants to get as much cash out of me as possible. The saaq procedure is perhaps just protocol; I understand that... but my winter tires, I bought directly from Vich. At first he wanted to sell me used tires - claimed to last 2 seasons - for $200. I brought it down to $130 after consulting with a friend. For tire installation At first they proposed $16 per tire which would cost $64 but at the date of appointment the reciept was $66 with $23 tax (total $89)... & I'm like... hmmm something just ain't right :)

Worst experience anyone could ever have. Before go there please read this. Humble request- I have purchased a Bmw 2016 428i from Ontario. I did a inspection report from Ontario. But I have to do 2nd inspection because I want the quebec Number plate. So I went there. They charged me $1300. They said I have to change my 4 disk plate because they have a little bit rust. Although I checked my car panel it shows 13k later I need to check my brake pad. Well. It's not end here. They don't have any manner to treat a customer. It's so disheartening not just because I paid 1300, they are rude as well. Think twice before go there.

Nothing but a positive experience at this Garage. I feel bad because they get a lot of bad reviews doing the SAAQ Inspections. I went for my inspection. There was 1 problem. They were able to squeeze me in the next day for repairs, after they fixed the problem my vehicle passed. As simple as that. They are just doing their job. I didn’t get mad because they told me something I didn’t want to hear. Thank you guys for taking care of me! For my initial inspection appointment I arrived 20 minutes late due to traffic and my living downtown. they stayed late to help me. Thanks again! I will be back with any future problems.

A second time visit for an inspection. Again excellent. I thought I got lucky the first time with the team being so helpful and professional, but the second time was as good if not better. Honestly I hate writing reviews , but when praise is needed , I got to say it. The techs, were all delightful, professional and just happy to be working. It was raining hard and they offered to keep my car inside ( no top classic car) as long as needed. The counter clerk again professional. Anyhow I congratulate the team. Keep up the good work,hard to get any service with happy people these days.

Avoid them at all costs, this place is a scam. I went to get my vehicle inspected, of course they came back with some problem, the ball joints are "defective" and it would cost 700$ to fix. I told them I'm not fixing it there. Brought my car to my mechanic he says there's nothing wrong with the ball joints besides a light wear but they are nowhere near needing replacement. Had my reevaluation done at another inspection place, passed with no issues. I'm filing a formal complaint with the SAAQ. Judging by the reviews this happens all the time with your "inspections".

Don’t go there ! They will take advantage of you and rip you off. I did a full service for my car at land rover dealership before brining the car back to Canada, I went there to do the saaq inspection ofc they didn’t let me pass and kept telling me the car had a problem after another and ended up with a bill of 2400$ and they wanted to keep going with the problems until I told them to stop working on the car. They will take advantage and milk every penny out of you. Someone has to bring these guys down they’re thieves

DO NOT DO YOUR SAAQ INSPECTION HERE! They failed my inspection because my rear link kits were “loose”. Wanted to charge $500 to replace them along with 2 lights. Went to my mechanic and changed everything for $100 (including parts for $30). My mechanic said the link kits were fine and it should not have failed the inspection, but we changed them anyways. Cost me a full day of running around. Went to Groupe St-Henri for the reinspection and passed with no issues. Wish I went there first. SCAM ARTISTS - be careful.

DO NOT GO TO THIS PLACE!! This place is a total waste of time. I recommend not going here. They tell you different price in the beginning then they change it. I went for re-inspection for my car they said 36$ at 1st when I got the paper it was 96$ because they found new things, I wanted to spaek to the manager but he/she was to afraid to come talk to me. I did my vehicle inspection requested by SAAQ..... fixed everything the shop asked me to fix in order to pass the inspection exept a very small mud splash guard which had nothing to do with the safety of the vehicle this guy name Mahommed from the front desk refused and kept giving me the run around ....went to different place get it done in 6 minutes lol .....I guess they wanted to make more money ....don't recommend this place!!!! And yes!!!! I did it elsewhere inspection done no problem

Been coming here since Jan 2022 for multiple services on two different vehicles. They have always tried to find the lowest-cost option for fixes that will still get the job done and keep me safe on the roads. The staff is always friendly, knowledgeable, and patient. I recommend this garage to anyone. They are also certified to do SAAQ inspections.

I went here for inspection and was charged $800 because of some repairs. My car still had noises from the suspension. When I went to another mechanic for a tire change, he showed me loose nuts and one part not even bolted together. He fixed them for free. Please do not trust this place. I am disappointed and will avoid going here again.

Horrible service, what's the point of having an appointment if you need to leave your car until next day? Go somewhere else. Update : I was 5 minutes late and they asked me to leave the tire for 2 hours! When I was in the phone they said 30 mins. They are not organized at all and their management is even worse.

Had minor windshield damage, that quickly became worse and needed an appointment right away, which I was able to get the next day. I took the opportunity to have some other minor things checked and was very satisfied with the service but mostly was pleased with the pricing in comparison to my dealership.

So far so good the prices little high! l like to have more contact with my mechanic in future and the reason why is to know my car better. Also l appropriate if they don't leave the car widows wide open under rain . I find water spots in my car. I'm gonna make another appointment this year will see...

My motor was overheating right in front of their garage at the end of the day. They were able to take care of it the next day morning. They called me to tell me what was wrong and when I could pick it up. Not the cheapest place but when you need something done professionally and quickly, it's fair!

It's a terrible place. They will rip you off. I had to get a mandatory provincial check, of course the only thing they found needed changing was my tires!!! This is while I was at the dealership the week before and they said everything looks good! Long story short: don't go there
