Truly overhyped.!!!! I would not provide any stars if there was an option. It was a horrible dinner experience. Especially when you are hungry this place is to be avoided!! We entered the restaurant after checking if they are still open, at 8.45. Ordered ghee idli,onion dosa, vege tomyam soup, chicken 65, chicken Briyani. And the food took a good 40 minutes to reach our table. Ok!! Here i was expecting the food was freshly prepared hence the delay but to our shocking almost every order came had to be resent back to redo it. Chicken Briyani which cost rm24 was served chill like it just came out from a fridge, was then changed to a tandurii chicken which took another 15 minutes to arrive. Except for the chicken 65 nothing was as expected or even decent enough for the price charged. Idli came as normal idli.. And etc! Yes with all this happening, to my surprise the owner stood happily at the cashier although he did notice we were not happy. Did not even bother to apologise for what happened. We easily paid RM89 plus for such a unpleasant dinner and service. I would not recommend neither step back again to this place.

We arrived in Kuala Lumpur tired and grumpy after an 8hr flight. We were desperate for a feed but wanted to forgo airport fare in favour of something more authentic. So we caught the train into town and staggered down to the nearest strip of eateries. After a quick round of Frogger to get across the busy road we found ourselves on Mama's doorstep. The atmosphere inside was warm and inviting, topped only by the taste of the food. As a couple of poorly traveled white kids we were struggling with the correct way to eat our delicious biryani. Fortunately the ever hospitable staff member (perhaps mama herself) swooped in to demonstrate how the fare was to be upended and mixed upon the banana leaf laden plate. Finally the crown jewel of this culinary experience was Mama's signature coffee. Warm and sweet, it certainly hit the spot for us. I strongly recommend Mama's kitchen and if I return to Kuala Lumpur I will definitely be back.

I was very disappointed with this place, no one understood English or Tamil even though they were playing Tamil songs in the restaurant, I gathered that most places in Brickfields play Tamil songs and have Tamil signs but none of them are Tamil. I was craving for dry fried prawns, the waiter who served me did not understand English or Tamil. So, I googled searched images to show him dry fried prawns. He shook his head like he understood, I waited around 30mintutes and out he comes with a prawns curry, I was so upset, he kept saying “sambal”. Anyways I paid for the unwanted curry and left with anger and utter disgust. I will never visit or recommend this place.

Dropped by here to see what's the hype is about! Not satisfied with the food. Mostly everything we ordered was salty. I ordered the 'tandoori' briyani but what came was fried chicken on top. When asked the server, he answered it's tandoori style fried chicken. Well it was NOT stated in the menu tho. Clearly describe the dishes for less confusion. Tandoori is something which does not involve oil and frying is totally different from that. The mixed rice taken by my sister, the mutton was not that nice. Average. Rasam salty. Sambar average. Cucumber bitter. Fried chicken SALTY. Brinjal perattal oily. Podanlanka fry Salty!!Think twice before paying a visit. Overall, average food. Not worth it for the price

Very slow service or only few staffs for service. we waited for ten minutes before anyone took our order. There were only three options: dosa, poori, and chappati. For the dosa, they gave two spoons of sambar and we requested for water, which they either forgot to deliver or weren't sure about. Bad experience; avoid going if you are extremely hungry. There weren't many options for eating. a bit overrated (in my opinion). There were no customers there when we visited. No lassi, no tea, and no coffee. We informed cash counter staff but he was least bothered.

Their nasi lemak with fried chicken was very nice. Rawa thosai and onion tosai was nice. Their chutney was better than their sambar. Their food and price will be a general average score. However, their service was not very good. The staff was not very good. They were a bit blurry when we ordered the food. Maybe they are having staff shortage. We had to remind the staff twice for our drink to arrive. Overall, it is recommended for their delicious nasi lemak. We have not tried their lunch yet.

Actually, the hype has not been satisfied when I went there. Most of the menu items are sub-par (just like kedai mamak menu) and some good options were not even available. The waiters are all uninterested in taking orders or asking customers what they want. Their menu is not what they seem to advertise but extremely expensive for no reason. When I went there, they said only idli is available and served md cold idli and average beverages that cost more than RM60. I would recommend skipping this place.

Butter naan with chicken (2 sets) - the dhaal was very cold. The side vege was very dry. 3. Puri set - very oily 4. Bad experience, don’t visit if you’re super hungry. There were not much food choices. Price is expensive. 2 person we paid RM85 +. Expected banana leaf meal but it wasn’t and was told it’s self service. No hand glove was provided and everyone was holding the same cutlery for the self service food. Couldn’t finish the food cause was tasteless. And we ordered giant prawn as stated in the menu and u can see the cost of it. But ended up with small prawns which cost us RM29.90. Super disappointed. The owner stay put at the counter instead of assisting to provide service to diners. Never visiting this restaurant again.

We came to this restaurant and we use the service of this restaurant, service of this restaurant is very good and the condition is excellent and behavior of the service man is also very humble. And foreigners can reach this location easily. And really all thing are in excellent condition and service man are doing well ❤️‍❤️‍

This is my 3rd visit to this restaurant. The food is yummy ... love the mutton briyani as the mutton is tender and does not have a too strong mutton aroma. They give a generous round of papadam too! And, I finish off with a nice cup of teh tarik... so satisfying. The staff there ... they are always with a smile and ever so courteous. Happy to eat here anytime!

Very good selection of food for the menu, they have prawn sambal, and other curry dishes at this establishment they will make curry dishes as spicy or weak as you want. One hot drink item on the menu is fresh raw cow milk served hot. The staff wanted me to add sugar which was declined. The taste was not as sweet as expected but there is definitely quite a lot of milk fat in the drink. The establishment has health and pest control certificates posted. The prices are a bit higher than outdoor restaurants but still reasonable. Apologize for partially eaten food pics. Hunger won over pristine photo

Good food, nice and accessible location. Staffs are very accommodating and service is relatively on-time. Colourful atmosphere and decent amount of food options available. Their staffs are very polite and helpful, worth a try! Photo attached is my biryani chicken with a coconut shake, satisfying Sunday lunch!

The food is really good. I like their thosais and idlis.. but the service can be really slow. Once i ordered curry puffs and waited an hour and i was not really happy with it. The staff here are polite and obliging but the food takes a long time, to be delivered to your table. This place can be really crowded sometimes. Parking is a challenge but there is a parking space nearby, only drawback, it is always fully packed.

My friend and his father came to malaysia for tour. They enjoyed food in my mama's kitchen a lot. We had rice with mutton, fish fry and vegetables which was so nice. Happy to have food that to two days continuously as they really feel nice to get some Indian taste in their malaysia tour. Keep going. Price was reasonable. Nice ambiance and clean too

Great South Indian food... Coffee here is awesome. You should try their specials...Pothi Chicken, Mutton, Podi Idly, Egg Kothu Parota, Dosai.. Service is always great... Very friendly... Many food they prepare as we order, which takes time. eg., pothi chicken (chicken wrapped in banana leaf) You have paid parking next door and opposite (pos), Street parking depends on your luck that day...

I went there for almost 4 times and literally will take same type of dish since I am vegetarian. The food taste is nice but the only thing that is not nice is the price.. sambar, tauhu sambal and a vege cost me RM 10! AND THE PRICE IS CHANGING EVERY SINGLE TIME I went there. Sometimes rm 8 sometimes rm 10 for the same dish. Decided to not go there anymore.

First time visit to the restaurant. Invited by a group of friends. First impression is the lasting impression. Quite impressed with the interior colours and the length of the shop. There are dishes without meat that you can pick from. Take the plane rice though because the other type is made with meat.

First time my kids visited Malaysia and they want to eat Indian cuisine. They all liked the Chicken Briyani and surprised of the big servings . Will surely recommend this place to friends. And thank you also to our tour guide Siva for bringing us in this restaurant.

The environment was quiet and calm..Would recommend crab rasam as was boosting up. Kudos to chef Pradeep, waiter Alex and chef Ahmedkar. Was helpful in recommending food and service.

I have ordered meehoon Indian style, and Mutton perathal it was so delicious.Thank you to Chef Pradeep.The hospitality from Ms Mala n Mr Alexander who took the order was amazing.They were very polite and ensured to provide what we really want with full of passion. I would highly recommend to have meal here for others who have not tried. Tqvm to My Mama's Kitchen for making my day.

What a lovely place we stumbled across on our layover in Kuala Lumpa from Australia.Their service was fantastic and the food was great as well. Can defiantly recommend their signature coffee! Will return again when in Kuala Lumpa, was the highlight of our day.

Came here for breakfast and the food was really really good! The guy who served us was really lovely and it was a big clean space! We will be back again for breakfast tomorrow to get another hit of the lovely flavour in their food! Highly recommend

Tasty food overall. The mutton biryani portion of meat was a little under portion in terms of meat, I feel. Was recommended the Chicken Pollitan (typo maybe), the dish wrapped in banana leaf and grilled I believe. I found the meat choice too fatty and quite a bit of chicken skin. Not my flavour or choice of meat.

Located at Brickfield. Opposite Nu Sentral. Delicious Indian Authentic Food. Very friendly and Great Service. Most importantly Parking lot available in 20meter distance, 1min walking distance.

I tried Prawn fried rice here and it was okok. Taste could've been better and there is no cutlery given.
