"A very good comprehensive overview of the Holocaust that follows a logical timeline approach"
"A very well done museum"
"It is a small museum worth visiting"
"Don't come here in a rush, the story needs time to be told"
"A very moving and thought provoking experience, the incorporation of a large selection of locally donated artifacts as well as accompanying text and personal interviews from survivors allows the museum to appeal to everyone"
A very good comprehensive overview of the Holocaust that follows a logical timeline approach. The free iPads with videos make up for the slightly dated feel of the panels, and there’s enough detail to cover the basics while inviting further study of specific topics beyond the museum (e.g. the Danish resistance). I would have liked to learn a little more about Canada’s history (anti-semitism, Jewish immigration and life, etc) before, during, and after the Holocaust, and Montreal as a home for many survivors. It’s great that they keep the price of admission so low.
A very well done museum. So much information to absorb here and the collection of items and memorabilia from the WW2 era is impressive. If you only have a highschool education on the holocaust you will get so much from a visit here. But if you have a personal interest in that point in history or took university history courses there won't be much for you here other then the items on display. Nevertheless it's a good reminder of this tragic point in history.

It is a small museum worth visiting. Additionally, there is an app you can download to get more information of the items on display and the history. The app works fine in apple products, but it has to be updated in Android as it is in an older version that cannot be downloaded by newer Android products. Despite that, the app is not needed to visit the museum, it is just an additional part that adds to the experience.

Don't come here in a rush, the story needs time to be told.. There are two levels and you might want to spend a bit more time on a second, although it has a very sad atmosphere. Great thing is: it is open until 21:00, when all other museums are long closed, so you can come here in the evening taking a metro and walking a couple of minutes from the station. I would suggest to spend 2 hours in this place, there is a lot to see, hear, read.. and then maybe just sit a bit and absorb.
A very moving and thought provoking experience, the incorporation of a large selection of locally donated artifacts as well as accompanying text and personal interviews from survivors allows the museum to appeal to everyone. Tours with guides are available in both French and English, but not strictly necessary. If you love history and museums this is a great place to visit, but give yourself plenty of time, there is a lot of great material to take in.
I have a particular interest in WW2 and specifically the atrocities of the holocaust. We were going to be visiting Montreal and discovered online that this museum existed. I'm happy I went, lots of information, stories, pictures and artifacts. The museum provides an iPad and headphones to make it interactive. Give yourself lots of time to fully experience it. At the end of the visit there is a quiet room of remembrance that was very very moving.
This museum is extremely well presented. Many museums are hard to navigate or overwhelming, but not here. It is very clear the order to read everything in; there's a general blurb for each "section" and then it's broken down into pictures and more specific information for each event. Of course, it is very poignant and I learned a lot. I was also surprised at how low the cost is. This museum is absolutely worth a visit.
The Holocaust museum in Montreal is a place where you can find a lot of accurate information and testimonials about the Holocaust. During my visit, I had the opportunity to virtually speak with a survivor in France. You can also find videos, pictures, and items from that time there. It was a good experience, and the service is really nice. Highly recommended.

Very informative museum. It was well layed out, the pieves from the museum appeared to authentic. The only thing that I can possibly complain about is that was a lot of reading. There were a few videos to break up the reading. However, some overhead narrative would be helpful or some more hands on exhibits would be great too. Overall, it was an amazing museum and great experience. We are so glad we came.
I have learned lots of information regarding holocaust and the persecution of Jewish community in Germany. Their experiences and the hatred towards Jewish people antisemitism is real and must be avoided to happen again in the future. What was happening nowadays was just like history repeats itself not just for the Jewish people but also those who are professing believers of God. ❤️❤️❤️
It was a truly eye opening experience. It's a huge part of human History, not only for the Jewish faith and people but humanity as a whole... it needs to be remembered. I took my children with me. I don't think it's ever too early to learn about something so tragic... It was very informative. I learned a lot.

A very humbling expérience. The museum is very well thought out and for the price of a latte ans a croissant you can learn about what lead to, conspired to bring forth, created, executed and tried to hide one of the most shameful events in recent history. They have a companion app with troves of additional informatin and you can use one of their iPads if you dont own a mobile device.
This is the best kept secret in Montreal! An incredible learning experience to be had about an important period of our world history. The museum will lend u an iPad to do the circuit or u can do it I ur own. U can also ask for a docent to have an educational tour. An experience to be had if ur in the vicinity. The tickets are cheap but sone Sunday's are free. Call and inform urself.
Note: The Museum is closed on Saturday, because is Sabatt! It was a great learning experience. The video interviews gave it a human perspective. I learned that the Warsaw Ghetto was one of many ghettos all over Europe. So many people died from hunger and sickness. I gain a new understanding about the suffering of those brave people. Also, about how evil was the Third Reich.
We try to visit Holocaust museums in every city we travel to. NY and Washington DC are far and away the best. Montreal has an enormous Jewish community with many Holocaust survivors. This museum, although small, gave a really personal view of the life of Jews during that horrific decade. The iPad tour was incredibly concise and packed with information. A 'must see.'
Its smaller than what I expected. Be prepared to do lots of reading. Make sure you have at least 1.5 hours to read and listen to some videos of holocaust survivors internviews. Its informative but I just expected more. My family have good handle with this part of history so for us its not worth it to visit this museum as we already knew most of what we read.
This is a really fascinating museum. It might be small but it's packed with real artifacts from holocaust survivors who arrived in Canada. I've been to all the major concertina camps in Europe this is still a must see. It's far more enlightening than any one tour. Be sure to download their audio tour app or borrow an iPad from them.
It was a ok place. Water leaking when we were looking at things. A guard in front of us doesn't even recognize the visitors. Blocked our view trying to deal with the water issue. But he didn't have to stay in front of us really. Over all, staff were not very conducive for learning anything and the place was again, just ok.
The tablets are great to help explain more info on the items, especially if there are people surrounding the displays. My husband and I were there for hours and read every single thing. Expect to stay at least 2 or 3 hours if you take in all the information. Very heavy on the heart but important to discuss.
I was pretty impressed by all of it. The constructions of each way that you’re going inside de museum is pretty interesting and strong to read. Take at least 2 hours to check everything

A part of history without any censoring is shown there and it is not for sensible person. The exposition can easily take up to 3 hours because of all the available artifacts, interview and stories. A sad but necessary museum everybody should visit once.
Really fruitful reflections on the Holocaust as you observe the artefacts and read/hear people’s experiences and stories on this. I would definitely recommend this museum for its ability to keep us anchored to the realities and context of the Holocaust.
Very important museum that people should visit! It gives a lot of information about the dark and terrible period of time during the Holocaust. Very recommend!!! Give yourself some time when you get there to read the information and the personal stories.
A true hidden treasure. The memorial is very educational and focuses on the resilience of the Jewish community. It reaches visitors on multiple fronts providing an individual iPad, display cases, group videos, and informational text. This is a must do.
It is two floors, the free audio guides are on mini ipads and that is nice. The explanations are fun to read. Nothing is confusing. It is not an emotional roller coaster, it is more academic when discussing how a an elected leader lead to genocide.
A place of heartbreaking sadness, but when you leave you cannot help feeling hope. I donated my father's pictures and paperwork so that a record of his life and loss will remain, including the death of his entire family except for one brother.
Beautiful place that displays the horrible past in a proper way. Pictures, artifacts, and videos you can sit and watch from holocaust survivors. It’s a quite, respectful place that made me tear up. I’m very thankful that I was able to visit.
This is the best place to learn about Jewish history, culture and specially the inhuman behaviour that Jewish people faced during Hitler years. I came to know why Jewish elderly people don’t wanna take shower in the bathroom. I learned why
The museum takes you through Jewish life before, through the rise of Nazi Germany, and the aftermath. Good documentation including videos of holocaust survivors. Can take several hours to half a day if you take your time through everything.
The museum has lots of artifacts, a chronological tour with very interesting explanations in French/English, and several videos along the way that feature interviews of Holocaust survivors. It is a solemn but fulfilling experience. More
It's a lot bigger than we thought. Admission is very reasonable and you feel like you get your money's worth. They can provide you with a tablet to carry with you to explain certain parts, but we opted to just read all of the exhibits.
Very well preserved and presented memories of the holocaust years as well as the Canadian presence in it. Small place filled with different media to illustrate that horrible past. Good for history fans not so much for small kids.
wide amount of information and lot of stuff to see from those days. Bring your earphones so you can hear all the explanations through the app.

Very educational and interesting museum! I stayed there for hours with my girlfriend so we could watch all the videos and read all the texts. It's really harrowing to see how many parallels we can draw with today's world.
Definitely an eye opener as to how Canada played a role during the world war 2. Bit over crowed at the start of the museum.

It was an "okay" museum and not very big so don't expect spending all afternoon there. I would have wanted it to be more interactive, but the museum mostly consists of pictures and miscellaneous objects.
Small museum inside the Jewish library in Montréal. Very interesting exhibits. If you happen to go on a Sunday, it's free and you might see a survivor, that will explain what happened to him.
I really enjoyed my visit. I was with my niece and I appreciated the fact that she stayed very interested and asked many questions. A beautiful place full of memories so we never forget.
Not the biggest museum but full of information and stories. You can spend many hours here. Beautifully done and incredibly moving. One of the better museums on the subject.
A place you should visit to pay homage to victims not only of the Nazi regime, but to opressed and discriminated people around the world through the history of humanity.
Comprehensive, spiritual ,well curated content of important knowledge ,testimony of an important subject which must be memorialized . A moving experience and education.
Amazing exhibition. Very well presented. A lot of images, videos, audio and collectibles. This museum needs to be visited by everybody so we don’t repeat the past.
A very nice museum!! The history was breath taking. Highly recommended!!

Very moving for adults, but hard for our 9 year old to engage. She was interested, but the volume of written text was geared more to older ages.

Let's not ever forget, and alway's remember and honour those with love and reverence who had to go through this horrible time in history!
An amazing place to learn about one of modern histories darkest times. Excellent staff and volunteers, something everyone should see!
Very informational with lots of interesting relics. Wish there was more to it. Wish the cafe sold jewish foods to honor the heritage.
A terrific, educational, and emotional portrayal of one of humanity's darkest times. So vital. Never again! We will always remember!
Very interesting get a group of 10 and get a free guided tour. Worth the visit. The crimes and horrors against the Jewish community.
Well-explained history, chills-giving spot. However found there was a little lack of detail and that the museum was rather small.
It's a small museum but if you take your time to read and see everything you'll need at least 3 hours, but definitely worth it.
It's an amazing place to know about the history and to understand the suffering of many Jews ...a really enriching experience
Very interesting exhibits, lots to see.

Great place to learn about the reality of the WWII. How 6 million Jews were massacred because rhey were Jews and a minority.
The museum is well laid out with exhibits and short videos throughout to help us remember that which we must never forget.
never visited this pace, but i will some day. (probably gonna love it, gonna be my first visit at a holocaust museum.)
So very informative, I think anyone with a. European background should visit this museum at least once. Very moving.
Museum had everything in both French and English. Ipads were available for free to add to the tour as an audio guide
Amazing experience!! They even have people, survivors, coming in and telling their stories. Just an amazing museum!
Good museum very informative. Cheap entry at $8. A little difficult to find being sited within an office building.
Small but infomative museum more about history and culture than the actual Holocost. Definitely worth the visit.
Very interesting and rich.

Holocaust happened long time ago but no lessons have been taken. Still a bunch of dictators and a lot of pain.
A true emotional experience and a complete look at this part of history. Very modern, solemn and informative.
Everyone should visit this museum to be aware of this dark portion of our history. Very moving experience.
Very knowledgeable guides amazing artifacts and the survivor testimony was like nothing I've ever heard.
Definitely a place to visit, so much history there, photos, and videos that will touch your heart.
A different point of view based more on the lives of people in camps then the death and horrors.
Very informative, would highly recommend it as a place to teach people about the Holocaust.
Very interesting and educational, must learn from history so it will not be a repeat lesson
Very interesting place. Goose bumps. Very sad stories, even sadder that it all happened :-(
Very good account of how jews survived concentration camps and made a life in Montreal
It's a good place to bring kids and teach them about the brutalities of human nature.
Great solemn reminder that history can/will repeat itself if we don't learn from it.
My teacher took the class to the Museum it was good to look at the things inside.
Incredible museum. Done in a very respectful way. Definitely worth going too!
Very moving I learned many things especially about Canada s ways at the time
Museum detailing the history of the Holocaust. It was an educational visit.
Chilling and eye opening about the history of the Holocaust. Great Museum!
Had a good movie on film 1945 with wonderful sharing and discussion time.
It reminds one, how cruel humen can be, hope this is not repeated again.
Very well set up, make sure you have lots of time to read what's there.
Small museum but attended a very moving talk from a Holocaust survivor.
Great historical museum. A great find in the greater Montreal area.
Every human needs to visit the museum, very heartbreaking to visit.
Very moving, lots of reading involved to appreciate the exhibit.
Great and very informative museum dedicated to the Holocaust.
It nice but I still expected more .... of a Montreal connects
Such a wonderful to learn more and understand the holocaust.
A very humbling experience. A must visit for all humans.
Small but full of information. Audio tour worth doing
Powerful, should not be missed when visiting Montreal
Impactful museum on the history of the Holocaust
A very moving and well put together exhibition.
Nice place to refresh my memory on the history.
