Thought this was the Dutch windmill but learned that it was the second windmill built in the Golden Gate Park. This windmill is a lot bigger than the Dutch windmill I’m just amazed by how Grand it looks! Would definitely recommend making a stop here to check it out if you are visiting the park
A Dutch windmill in SF! A great destination and land mark for biking with kids during pandemic. It’s at the transition between the Great Highway (pedestrians and bicyclists only)and Golden Gate Bridge (closed to motor traffic on Sundays). We saw a red tail hawk hanging out at the windmill.
Beautiful walk up to this place in the Golden Gate park. Ocean Beach is quite near to this place, just about a 10-minute walk. Had to park the car up before MLK drive as the road was closed in the park. But the walk was a quick one from the parking. Lot of parking available. More
Saw this windmill all the time while driving. Finally stopped by to scratch one off my list. Easy parking on the street on Lincoln Way on a weekday morning. Beautiful wildflowers around the place. Definitely will come back for the rest of the Golden Gate Park.
Beautiful scenery. Nice walk paths, with various shades of Autumn leaves and Winter bloom. Very nice. Just don't go alone after dark, if your a man; if you have to, go fast and don't stop. Lots of men looking for men. No more need said. Otherwise very nice.
A good location to meet each other if you get lost in the area. Other than that, there is not much to see. This windmill is not the very first or the largest in the world right now. The only thing that attracted me to this place is to look
This is one of two beautiful Windmills in Golden Gate Park. Very picturesque location. There is ample parking on the street close to the windmill. Spring is the best season to visit, with flowers blooming in the garden around the Windmill.
My favorite windmill because it is my grandmother's maiden name. I always take out-of-town visitors to see the windmills at Ocean Beach. This is also a great place to come and hang out and listen to the ocean and look at the window. Make
The windmill has been substantially restored but it appears that the project has run out of steam. The windmill needs a generous corporate or private benefactor and a good project manager to get it moving again. It was once a functional
Fun. Playful for the animal in all of us. Peaceful. Serene. All except for the local police who drive the trail for walking and seem to believe that they have a right to question 2 Adults s itting on a tree stump "why" and "what" we're
Our toddler was winding down for his afternoon nap...when his half sleepy eyes caught a glimpse of the windmill! He was so excited that I pulled off the road (lots of easy free parking) and let him run around the windmill.. looking for
Finally saw the second windmill. Not sure why but it's always breathtaking to see one. It was a windy day so a bit surprised it was turning. Anyways, there's a small hill directly infront of it to get a cool forward facing photo. More
The Murphy Windmill is beautiful. A small lawn next to it and underneath it provide a good spot to rest and relax. There's a visitor/tourist building (a nice looking brick building) adjacent to the windmill. It's easy to find it if
Windmill is not operational, but is a good remnant of the past history. I believe it was used to manage irrigation for Golden Gate Park. I really wish they can figure out a way to make it an operational part of the
I REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY resent you scum bag leaches from tracking my personal physical location movements and then adding that to your data base. Could I then each of the participants
The second windmill located in Golden Gate Park on the southside of the Park near Ocean Beach. In better condition than the one on the north side and also has a small cottage next to it.
Two windmills in golden gate park, this is one of them. Be sure to take a sf city guides walking tour to find out the history. It’s called West End Golden Gate Park Walking tour. More
It is a beautiful place by the ocean beach and quietly nestled in the GG park. Park is huge you can the spend the day around the park. Definitely the windmill is highlight
Windmill was super cool and a nice park area, was disappointed you can't enter the windmill at all but it's still cool to look at and attracts some sick lookin crows
Nice quiet park and garden with benchs and windmill to walk around. Easy parking right along the garden. Just across the great highway and the beach.
A newer windmill compare to the old one on the other side of the street. The information plate is covered in bird poop. Not much maintaining here.
Awesome landmark with plenty of historical significance definitely worth making this a stop on your tour through Golden gate park! More
Really well kept up grounds. Located amongst a nice pathway of trail and sidewalk with beautiful forestry and botanical scenery.
Beautiful place to spend sometime and do small picnic. Areas is pretty small. It's a good spot for some good photos.
I’d rate this windmill as a low 5/5 (think 4.5/5), because you can’t go in it. I wanna climb this windmill!!
Didn't go inside, but it was pretty cool to stumble across while walking through the park!
Loved seeing this one looking all nice!! Doesn't move or work, but it outwardly looks nice.
This windmill has a lot more space around it. Best for picnics and hanging out around
