The walk alone was lovely but then when we got to the top it was a very nice view and with the small effort to get there. We had to climb under the side fence which was very unfriendly design by parks Victoria (should have been bollards). There should also be a welcome sign that has rules about behaviour and whether or not you are allowed to climb (we were apprehensive because it just said indigenous land and no welcome- why???) Some trees obscure the horizon but you can see a beautiful view in 2 directions. It is basically at clouds height and the weather changes from the beautiful cool southern rainforest to a warmer humid in the last 100 meters of the walk. The walk is flat for the first 400m which is lovely but it gradually gets steeper as you progress, it's not that hard though, having said that if you are not overweight then it is easy. My daughter saw a young black snake and I found what looked like Wombat poo. The smell of the Bush and the different climates and views made this one of our top 3 things to do in the whole Healsville / yarra region. The drive back to Healsville was marked 80 but that was so dangerous we kept it down to about 60/70 (silly Vic roads). Watch out for unfriendly angry idiots in euro sports cars, they seem to think EVERYBODY wants to risk there lives.

The car park is just at the intersection of Monda Rd & RD10. No facilities. Can accommodate about 10 cars but unlikely to be busy. A bit of a climb through the gate across Road 10 as there is no pedestrian gap so strollers and wheelchairs will need to be lifted over. The 1.2km walk along Road 10 is then very easy. Dips slightly at the start before rising more steeply through the woods as it reaches the communication tower. Quite steep steps up the viewing platform. Looks like great views when it is clear, but the day we were there the clouds came in as we walked.

900m walk, nah, more like 1300m, easy track, well kept. Could do it with a sturdy pram. Good steep enough track to make it a bit of a challenge at speed. Vies beautiful and not many other visitors. Could see Melbourne city 60km off which was lovely, and other view points of interest worth looking at.

Good place to see the views of the mountains. Not good if rainy or foggy but is a very interesting experience when so! Platform is completely open, just watch out for the steps up to it, the steps are at a steep incline and can be slippery when wet. Would recommend if sky is clear at sunset

From the car park to the summit is about 1.2kms, around 20 minutes walk up the access track. The power track is much stepper yet shorter. This track has lots of loose rocks so correct footwear is advised. If you pick a clear day, views of Melbourne city and beyond is possible.

Tough walk, first two climbs make your breathing sound like an asthmatic playing a plastic harmonica, then you have to face the last 1800m climb to the top. That makes the first two seem as easy as ascending the Eureka Tower by lift, when someone else is pressing the buttons.

Good long views towards the bay, but it is quite disappointing considering its 1033m elevation that the views in lall other directions are blocked by trees. Donna Buang style tower is needed so that the public can once again see the whole panorama.

We enjoyed the walk. Not much scenic viewing as the cloud was very low but I enjoy the "feel" of the Bush and so the plants were my interest as we trekked the 1.2km up the track and then went back.

Beautiful forestwalk with an amazing view of hills, and if you're lucky, the skyline of Melbourne

A short walk up from Donnellys Weir Rd to a hidden gem of a viewing platform. A a clear day you can see just about all of Melbourne. No facilities but a great spot none the less.

  • Aussie Arvos

Amazing views, and not very busy! , highly recommended ! , the road to get to the car park is a little rocky/bumpy but my Ford Falcon did it with ease so don't let that stop you!

  • Sandra Giebeler

A little walk after you parked your car and you have a beautiful view. On a clear day you even can see the skyline of Melbourne which is around 60km far away

  • Nadine Smithrojas

Fantastic viewing 0ver the Yarra Valley, the Dandenongs, the bay, Melbourne and Mt Macedon on the horizon. Easy 1.2km hike uphill. Definitely worth it.

  • Edward Hume

Steep trek to the viewing platform from the car park. Small river crossing due to High rainfall weeks prior. Great views to Melbourne CBD and beyond.

Pushed and rode my mountain bike from Donnelly's weir to summit. The trip down was one hell of a ride. Wide open path and no one on it.

  • Brad York

Slick little view here fam. Gate was open on the big boy tower next to it so we got a view that was between three and four times better

  • Rabi Pradhani

nice view on top of the platform, but one way 1.2 kms upwards, so allow at least 30 mins one way,, but worth a visit, magnificent view

  • Keith McCarthy

Unbelievable view. Great walk up from the car park, a little too long for young kids. Be prepared to carry them on your shoulders.

  • Jason Allen

Terrific view of the beauty of wider Melbourne, with the city visible in the distance. Great 300 degree view of so much.

  • Peter Campbell

Wonderful views across Central Highlands forests and down to the Yarra Valley. 1.2km walk along a vehicle track

  • Piotruś J.

The platform lacks the maintenance, watch your kids when visiting. The view is nice but partly blocked by trees

  • Pavel Karkarin

Great place. Had to walk all the way to the tower which was exhausting. The views are rewarding though.

  • Vinoj Perera

Not that great but its a 2km hike up and down. So its worth it if you've got spare 2 hours on your way.

  • Antony Watson

It's a short walk and rather bland. Good views for 180 degrees. No facilities bar the lookout tower

  • Brett Gardner

Viewing tower is directly under a mobile phone tower, not my idea of a pleasant view

  • Valentine Rothwell

Look out for leeches, there are plenty of them, insect repellent is a must.

  • Sylvie Latarget-Duhamel

The platform is closed as I think it is unsafe. Otherwise a nice walk.
