Attended a memorial service on 06.12.21 - service held in the Fred J. Tips Mausoleum Chapel, which is located at the back of the cemetery. As I was driving, I noticed that the overall property looked a little unkept in general. There was no directional signage for the Chapel. I get that there is construction (lots of it) at the property; however, even temporary signs should be in place. The Chapel itself was HOT...HOT...HOT! When I arrived, there were about 20 people and it was warm. I looked at the thermostat and it showed 77 degrees. I asked a staff member if they could turn down the a/c and she said they had done so. As more and more people arrived, it got hotter and hotter. Most people were using programs to fan themselves. Never did fell the a/c engage. Heck, even in his first words, the preached said that he had been sitting and praying that the a/c would start working. People were sweating. Last time I looked at thermostat it showed 81 degrees. A sad time (unexpected death) made worse by being in a 'sweat box' at his service. Oh - several light bulbs out too; no one must be paying attention to details or maintenance.
My daughter passed away 2 years ago and we made the horrible mistake of going to Mission Park Dominion location. Now instead of being able to go visit and quietly reflect on our tremendous loss we are just constantly angered by the horrible condition on the area she is at. We can’t take our grandson if it is wet or raining because of all the mud. There is no grass, it’s like she is in a barren field. My son in law, who paid for most of the outrageous cost including so called perpetual care put $80 worth of sod on her plot and the plot next to her 2 weeks ago and it is completely dead. Please choose wisely, this is not something you can return for a ref.
My husband is buried here. Although the staff is very helpful, it could use some serious fixing-up. Its location by the Dominion puts it in the "high price" area. The entrance has huge potholes, a theme that continues throughout this cemetery. The grass is yellow. There is some type of mausoleum at the entrance that has been "under construction" for several years. It is an eyesore. Considering the cost of burial here and the regulations, I would think the owners would be embarrassed at the run-down appearance of Mission Park North Dominion. At least fix the potholes.
I will never forget my beloved grandpa’s funeral last year where your staff continuously interrupted and harassed myself and everyone that was crying to put their masks back on throughout the entire OUTDOOR service. Don’t bother trying to justify this soulless behavior as a safety protocol either - nobody in this state believes that BS anymore.
Today my husband and I visited his first wife's grave at Mission Park near the Dominion, and we were saddened to see that the gravestone flower holder had been broken from the base. Then we noticed that quite a few other holders in that area of the cemetery were also damaged. This shows a careless attitude and no respect for the deceased.
Whoever answered the phone is unprofessional. I would expect more from someone who is supposed to be answering to bereaved families.
Sonia is so helpful she answered all of my questions. She was very nice and respectful.
Beautiful CHAPEL amazing staff had both my mom & dad here
