RUDE & LAZY RECEPTIONIST The receptionist I am referring to is the older one, with a blond bob type wig, glasses and blue eyes. As many other reviews suggest, her attitude is not appropriate, she is rude, a narcissist who thrives on giving you the most unpleasant experience. My first contact with her was over the phone, while I tried to book an emergency appointment for a dog that was registered at a clinic in Chingford. She told me it was not possible. I went to the clinic the day after and another very pleasant receptionist went through the motions to have the dog registered and offered an appointment for the same day. Dr Grimbly was very good, clearly experienced and professional. I did a follow up visit again today and this vile receptionist was working. She saw me coming to the glass door but took a while to press the green button that would enable me to enter. She was not speaking to anyone nor doing anything that kept her urgently busy, she made no sign for me to be patient, as one does out of politeness when you need to make someone wait for you. It looked like she just wanted to assert her authority, it was clear in her mannerism. She then wheeled herself to the green button but only slapped it, not allowing me enough time to open the door. Who does that? Everyone one knows you have to hold the button until the person at the door has opened it! She did this 3 times!! She is in the job, she should know!!! She knows!!! But she really wants to show you that you, the client, are disturbing her workload, which is just that, to greet clients and their sick pets, let them in, check them in and be pleasant and reassuring. She pretends that she can't find the appointment and presents all the clichés of the job's worth kind. She's grim. After the visit, the vet asked her to put my tin food in a bag. I felt that there was tension between the two of them and I was not surprised. I think this receptionist creates a lot of bad atmosphere everywhere. This receptionist spoke no words to me. Unlike her lovely colleague who, on my first visit, had asked me whether I wanted the invoice sent by email or printed for me, I had to ask her for it. I think she would have only given me the credit card ticket if I had not asked. Although she did it, she never acknowledged my request, and then took a looooong time to do it. So long that I went to sit down again. When the invoice was printed, I waited for my food to be put in bags as the vet had requested. I had to ask her again for the bag, and when she did, she handed it over to me without looking at me, saying in a manner to tell me off, she had been busy "doing this" (printing the invoice) I put the food in the bag myself. This receptionist is unpleasant, rude, narcissist and unprofessional. I do not trust her and I am glad that she is not a vet! She gets many bad reviews on Google and this is detrimental to the clinic and their image. I have had no problem with the rest of the staff, from the kind young receptionist to the dedicated nurses and vets. But this particular receptionist I see is still in employment and detrimental to the reputation of the clinic. It is not normal and not acceptable to be treated with so much contempt as a client. I wish the directors took action

WISH I HAD READ THE BAD REVIEWS FIRST. Sadly, unprofessional, covertly narcicistic, unkind and unempathic front of desk staff, who to my amazement still has her position as Receptionist. (Old, blond, short hair Harsh looking woman) Not only void of any decent manners but put my dog's life in danger, argued, spoke over me, ignored my plead for important information regarding the injections the nurse just administered my dog who was having an allergic reaction, but slammed the phone down on me too. On arrival she progressed to publicly insult me, ridicule my tears n fear for my dogs' pain, and proceeded to enjoy the little power she had and told me to "GET OVER IT" .....and "SHE HAD A REACTION LAST TIME N YOU WERE BEING DRAMATIC" and "I HANG UP COS YOU VE GOT AN ATTITUDE PROBLEM" infront of other shocked customers who luckily offered me support n kind words. Whilst arguing with me and reducing me to tears whilst holding my injured dog, I dared to call her a " f.....g vile human being" for which later on the clinical director Emma had more compassion, rather than for me or my toy poodle, who had been injected intramuscular, in her leg with a cocktail of vaccines, which put her in danger, in agony, with a heart rate of 104 for about 9 hours, panting, crying, and scared. Ironically Emma said an allergic reaction of that sort is not life threatening, which on 2nd and 3rd opinion from both Goddard vets and the PDSA I was told is absolutely not true and that I was right to rush her back as an emergency for an anti histemin injection. She was on strong pain killers for two days unnecessarily Where I agree nobody should use swear words whilst addressing staff, I find it incredible that a client is treated with such poor behaviour that it reduces them to tears, and then reprimanded for REACTING back to such behaviour. I was scared and in pain watching my dog suffer down to the incompetence of a nurse..... and the main concern here was to cover their backs instead of apologising. I'm really gutted they don't keep recordings of their telephone conversation, because I would have posted it on line for the world to hear. And to make matters worse the vet used confidential information I had previously given her, against me, to try justify the staff. Goes without saying I won't be returning. Shame, as I thought Emma was a kind and empathic vet, but it seems she is more concerned about her rude staff than she is her clients or their pets.

The vets are experienced and the nurses are nice but they are back-to-back with appointments and overstretched. They try somewhat but they have too many clients and it’s chaotic. I had to phone 7 times to get through to a vet to get bloodwork, after the circus of trying to get through I was left a voicemail. I was even charged for the interpretation fee so that wasn’t acceptable. As you can tell I wasn’t happy with the way we were treated - I felt that they were happy to take my money but didn’t want us as clients. I thought it was unnecessary to be told that I should be at the RVC as when someone is sick they go to hospital. I said couldn’t afford it, I was in a difficult situation and I was doing my best as a pet owner, working with the funds I had given unfortunately I didn’t have insurance at that time. If they didn’t want us they should have just told us to leave - I would have preferred that and wish I trusted my gut and walked out there and then. I was advised to do in-house bloodwork. This cost £250 (£100 more costly than vets4pets) but the bloodwork was incomplete and the report wasn’t IDEXX standard so I had to redo the bloodwork somewhere else so was a waste of money. I was charged £575 in total including 3 PCVs because and an ultrasound because the first PCV was read incorrectly. I received an apology but incredibly I still had to pay even when I questioned this. It was such an ordeal, I was angry and wanted to leave and I got no answers because they don’t want to diagnose or make assumptions. I then got a call for a referral to the RVC (yes the place I told you I couldn’t afford) and a heart scan (even though she had one a couple of weeks before). I vowed to never return and I take my now insured cats now to Vets4pets Ilford. They have better equipment, do more procedures and can give a diagnosis.

You are the worst that happened to me this New Year. If anginę wants to save their pet - definitely not in this place. Clients can only be content if they want creams and drops prescribed, or students who do everything for you to feel better. All team knows that my cat could have loved, had I been able to afford the treatment. Two diagnoses about which even the doctors weren’t sure, a lot of money. And euthanasia in the end - because the cat was old. Weren’t you taught that you save life regardless of the age? And cynical look in the eyes (if you pay 6 thousand, she will live) My pain is comparable to losing a child, and horrible guilt that I wasn’t able to afford life. Shame that clinics like that still exist. I came for help, not for my cat's death!! My cat has been gone for almost 8 months. I still feel guilty for allowing it to happen. Crying and missing her every day. She was put to sleep at that clinic, and her life would have cost £6,000 (for a skull tomography they tried to push on me). I consulted the results in Poland (they could have given her a stronger antibiotic; it was just a regular infection and a cyst on her gum), and the veterinarian came up with a skull tomography for that kind of money. No one is prepared for illness, and they know that in such situations, people will pay any amount to save their beloved pet. It's a tragedy. I will never forget it! How can I describe it? A mistake? Fraud? And how can I forget this pain?

I have never met such a rude receptionist in all if my life. I had an appointment booked today, when I get there they can't find the booking, mistakes happen right, but at the same time that isnt my problem and I'd spent money in a taxi to get my cat there. What I did not appreciate however was the appalling attitude of the receptionist. Rude was a genuine understatement. In the end I basically had to tell her to adjust her attitude, she then proceeded to insinuate that I was being 'aggressive'. She went in the back to speak with a vet , who agrees to see me. She then apologises, admits it was their error and that the vet would see me, which is what she should have done in the first place rather than give me attitude because she is in a bad mood, or hates her job. I myself have previosly worked as a receptionist for many years. Had I have ever spoken to a client in the manner in which she did I would no longer have a job. I no longer wish to register my cat with that surgery entirely because of her behaviour. If a manager sees this you really do need to have strong words with that lady. That attitude was genuinely shocking. 1 star for the redeeming factor that when I actually saw the vet she was very lovely, helpful and professional. The front of house brings down the amazing work of the vets. Change your receptionist and put that lady in a non client facing role.

I love this vets and the staff. They have worked really hard in the pandemic to take care of the animals…today a lady shouted at the poor veterinary nurse because she thought her very nervous dog shouldn’t have been taken in on its own. This is due to covid (Owners have to wait in the waiting area, but you can trust the staff to give excellent care in your absence) The pup came out calm and happy after the nurse had patiently taken a urine sample..the owner proceeded to verbally abuse the poor girl claiming “she could have done that herself” and how horrendous it was to expect her to wait outside. The poor dog started barking, distressed at the owners shouting (!!) A senior member of staff then came out to try and calm this lady down, but she wasn’t interested in venting to a person with authority, she preferred to brow beat support staff and left in a huff saying she will post a terrible review. I’m so sorry this happened to a vets that really do care for your animals. Posting to counter act negativity and show appreciation.

This is a wonderful vets. They are friendly, professional and passionate about animals. They supported my 18 year old dog through various end of life complications always ensuring she was comfortable and as healthy as she could be. They noticed an infection in my kitten that needed specialist attention and arranged a referral for what turned out to be a very unusual but thankfully treatable disease. Their prices are reasonable and their vets don't change too frequently making it possible to see the same vet for each appointment if requested. I was sad to have to leave them when I moved out of the area but so thankful for all they have done for my four cats and two dogs. I did use another vet which had a branch in Wanstead prior to using Midland and in my experience, registering with Midland Vets is a far better option for quality of care and affordability.

I have been going to The Midland Veterinary Surgery for the last 16 years. I completely trust and appreciate the service and advice that I have been given over the years. My cats have been well cared for and the compassion extended to me and my children when our youngest cat passed away very suddenly was outstanding. The staff stayed behind so that we could say a proper goodbye to him and that really was very much appreciated, especially as it was a Friday night! My eldest cat is now 16 and is always made a fuss over when he is taken in for treatment. The staff are always polite and friendly, even when I have been besides myself with worry over the health of my fur babies. I most certainly recommend this Surgery and will continue to be a customer for the foreseeable future.

*UPDATE* After I called to complain, someone from the surgery called the next morning and agreed to issue a prescription* I took my elderly dog to this vets this afternoon, and was told that she needed specific eye drops for an infection, that would cost £130. I asked for the name of the medicine, which I found at online (from a company who I've used many times before) for £29. I called the vet to ask if they would issue me with a prescription, so I could buy online and they have refused, saying only if I buy the medicine from them. This seems really unfair and cynical. I don't want my little dog to suffer any more while I get the money together for the massively inflated price they're asking. They are SO OVERPRICED. They even charged me £55 for an adaptil plug in. AVOID

We’ve been to different vets in the area and honestly midland vets is definitely the best one. They don’t only provide the best care but also so considerate. We’ve got a nervous gsd and they’ve always been so good about it. We normally see Emma but as she was off today we saw a vet we haven’t seen before for his vaccination. Understandably we were all a little unsure how it would go, Cedric and Luke was both so incredibly amazing with our gsd - vaccinated, checked his teeth and paws without a fuss, he even got some petting and rubs. It’s been a long time since we’ve found a vet that our dog felt comfortable with since our last one retired. Luke was a super star too - with him fear reactive to dogs he was so accommodating and made things as easy as possible for us!

Cerdic Grimbly is the best Veterinary Surgeon along with Holly Swaby and Emma Whitaker. All the Veterinary Nurses, Support Staff and the Practice Manager have always been absolutely fantastic with me and both of my Cats over the past few years. Even when I had to put one of my Cats to sleep they were very professional, understanding and compassionate. They also sent a lovely condolence card. I went to Midland Veterinary Surgery again today with my newest Cat for his 6 month health check, yearly vaccination, nail clipping, de-worming, flea treatment and he is doing really well and is very healthy. I will definitely keep on coming here for many more years to come. I really reccomend this Surgery for your pets. Thank you for a 5 star service!

  • Jhaemes Joplin

Very good surgery. Our overweight cat with hip dysplasia has been tended to by a lovely man, very caring. The homemade raw diet is working well, the vet is pleased, as are we; we only need call in to get repeat pain meds for him. Everyone here is very nice. Edit based on another review: Just an FYI, yes vets do charge more for meds, but their services are fairly reasonable. I've previously asked for, and received, a written prescription to purchase elsewhere, which I was charged £10 for. Reasonable, it's a service. But we honestly don't mind buying from them; the service and staff are quite remarkable and it's far less expensive than North America. You have it quite good here in regards to medical services all around, pets and people.

  • Joane Thompson

After a very negative experience with our previous veterinary surgery we moved the care of our elderly dog to midland vets, I can honestly say I have never known a vets like this, they are so kind and caring , my dog needed surgery they took the time to explain everything , answered my questions not once did I feel rushed , the total cost was explained and we were given a clear break down , when I require confirmation or have a question and send an email , the response time is amazing. I wish I had found this vets sooner they are truly amazing and I can not recommend them enough they take great care of my dear old dog even though he is super anxious they are so good with him

  • Monta Belinska

We take our cat there since we’ve had him for his vaccines, always can get reasonably quick appointments so no long waits. Have also left him at the cat hotel once when going on last minute holiday( heartbroken), but he didn’t have any issues there either and the cat sitter seemed super lovely and in my heart I knew he will be taken care of. Now however with COVID, the wait in the garage and the delays have gotten annoying, that can be expected I guess. But do reserve your time ahead when taking your pet now as if you are on tight schedule from work or etc know it can take longer than usual. And grab an extra jacket and blankie for your pet, it’s still so cold!

  • Mars Em

Lovely staff in general. However, I received a lecture from a nosy nurse telling me tabby cats are female. I was rather confused by this. It turned out that she changed the sex of my ginger kitten from female to male. This was not the right thing to do, because my ginger cat is a female. It then took me two forceful requests to the vet to check the sex of the said cat and update her records. The one downside to this place is lectures from every vet I came into contact with during my time there. Worms, fleas, teeth..... I now have a new vet and they're fabulous!

  • Rafia Iram

I've had my cat registered here for over two years now and been very happy with everything, however this morning I tried to register our new cat over the phone and the receptionists was very rude. Tried to make me feel bad about about getting a new cat because "surgery is too busy because everyone keeps buying pets" were her words, in a very rude tone. I could not believe that was being judged for rescuing an animal by someone who works in a veterinary surgery. She also did not want to tell me her name after I asked her 3 times. Absolutely disgusting!

  • rosemary lamb

My two cats are my world and I am very particular about who treats them. My family have used the services of Midland Vet Surgey for many years. I wouldn't take my cats anywhere else. Vet consultations are of a very high standard and I am always included in the conversation and my opinions and concerns listened to. Mr Grimbly and his colleagues are great vets. The male nurse is always super friendly, and has treated my cats with great care, especially a few months ago when we arrived for an appointment and one of my cats was distressed.

  • Zoë and the family Purdie-Wood

Our vet, Lauren, was friendly and kind and answered all of our questions. Our cats can be very timid and skittish and they weren't afraid of her at all, which was a very pleasant surprise! She also had great advice about maintaining their health, and insurance. I've never seen anyone give a pet a tablet so quickly and efficiently! The reception staff were polite and helpful and super friendly - we felt very welcome. It took all of the stress out of the situation and - dare I say it - I'm actually looking forward to our next visit!

  • Vasilica Claudia Geanta

Very disappointed with the service! I have to change my holiday month because they are very busy! My cat Lion have been vaccinated for RABIES on 23/05/2022 and Mr Grimbly said for the certificate of travel call and book 6 days or week before travelling, but the receptionist today was very rude she said no appointment available until September!!! Try to explain what the doctor tell me and she said I was shouting at her and she hanged up the phone, I will make a complaint about it very unprofessional.

  • Angela Keatley

I hever been disappointed or let down in the last 20 years my pets have been treated at Midland Vets. Always treated well and made to feel comfortable. Vets are second to none and always keep you informed of cost and alternatives. The best feeling of all is that they care and you feel that your pet is of the most importance and my cat's strangely keep calm when they are there, like they know it will be good for them. Thank you all at Midland Vets keep on being just like you are, you the best.

  • Ellen Langan

I've been taking my Border Terrier to Midland Vets since he was 8 weeks old, he's now nearly 12! Also my greyhound, who I inherited from my late father 2 years ago. It's always easy to get appointments, even in lockdown down & get information over the phone. Greeted with a warm welcome every visit & both vets & nurses are compassionate & informative. Appreciate the reminder texts for appointments & treatments. Have recommended to friends in the past & would have no hesitation in doing so again.

  • Alex Oancea

We have 3 cats registered with them and they have been very careful and professional when dealing with them. They can have some long waiting times when it comes to the vet seeing your pet and they sometimes ignore online communications, but overall, the vets we saw were very empathic and explained to us everything they did and why, which we deeply apreciated. Doctor Cerdic Grimbly is our favorite vet: very helpful, very patient, knows how to deal with difficult cats. Thank you.

  • Edyta Knapinska

Consistently bad experience. Impossible to get through on the phone. Impossible to get an appointment unless it's weeks away. A very rude receptionist / woman on the phone. I had to use a different vet as I couldn't get an appointment at Midland Vets when my dog was very poorly and she gave me hard time because of it, was rude about it and unhelpful. A poorly pet is a horrible experience - If anyone should be sensitive about it, it's your vet. Will not use again.

  • katherine phipps

I've been bringing Keo our cat to midland vets for over 4 years now. Everytime the treatment is always of the highest standards. They are kind and compassionate and always deliver the best customer service. Recently Keo being an older cat has started to develop problems with her teeth. The vet recommended things we could to do to ease her and tips and hints around food choices and teeth brushing. Definitely recommend any pet owner to visit midland vets.

  • Paula Hughes

Our cat is always treated like royalty which is very sweet to see. Vets are excellent at putting us, as much as our cat, at ease and all very knowledgeable staff. Great experience with receptionists too— always willing to take time to listen even when often very busy. Also had a great experience pre owning my own cat when I took a lost cat in. They went above and beyond to locate the owner. Can’t recommend the practice enough.

  • Plamen Georgiev

The best vet surgery. The great team of exceptional professionals (including nurses, receptionists and doctors) is looking after our 7 cats for the last 2 years and is great experience every time we visit the surgery. We recently moved out of London, but will never register our pets elsewhere (this should speak enough for how amazing the team at Midland Vets is) Thank you for your great service, help and assistance.

  • Filipa Correia

Awfull, booked a consultation 2 weeks in advance, got there 5 min before and had to wait 35 min to be seen,my dog was nervous and this was just 35min of unecessary added stress. No apology or even an explanation about the delay. Vet was not friendly at all and the room had an unbeareble foul smell from the previous consultation, i could hardly breath. So bad. 63£ for a 5min consultation. Never again.

  • Hajra Qamar

I had my cat neutered here, they had to operate on her twice due to an error that they made and still made me pay more, despite all of this, they give me an appointment time for 9am when I arrive, they tell me my appointment is now at 11am and they have the nerve to overcharge for their services. Ladies at reception are incredibly rude and switch appointments without asking. Do not recommend.

  • Beautiful Angel

Avoid. It's just a hard nosed business that only cares about money. They are taking advantage as there isn't much completion or choice locally. The receptionist is nice and it seems reading between the lines upset has to enforce such harsh inflexibility by clearly very money minded owners. Go elsewhere anywhere but here unless you are wealthy and the cost of living crisis doesn't affect you.

  • Emma B

We travel half an hour across London to Midland to see Brian with our two budgies, as we love him so much! It is so important to trust your vet with birds, as they aren't such a common pet these days. Everyone at Midland has always been very helpful and friendly. Prices seem fair too, and although we needed expensive food and supplements, we weren't pushed into buying them directly.

  • Reyhana

I have been taking my cat to Midlands Veterinary Surgery for the last 3 years, and she is a very stressed cat, that by the time I arrived with her, she would have messed in her carrier. Whomever sees to her on that day, doesn't bat an eyelid and cleans her and try their best to keep her calm during her examinations. This puts me at ease. I find everyone to be helpful and friendly.

  • Iga 23

This institution does not care about animals, rather it’s all about money in pockets. If you pay huge amounts of money, you should be treated right and so should your pet. And not be filled with appetite boosting medication so that the pet is going crazy and does not behave like themselves. Nobody knows what is happening behind the closed doors of this hospital.

  • Valentina Migliore

So far I had very positive experiences with the vets at this clinics. They have been really useful both when I called them to ask for advice via phone and when I went for an appointment, helping me sorting out the documents for our traveling and to understand all of the necessary cures for my little dog. Pricing is about the same of other clinics of the area.

  • Irene Urgeghe

I call them asking them for help because my current vet is unprofessional and they told me that I need to go back to my vet or if I want to be by them I need to make a registration online and wait for my appointment even if I explain that was an emergency. How can someone in emergency can be treat like that? Why you are a vet if you don’t care about animals?

  • claudia paez

I have been going to this vet for over 15 years, in general it is a nice place, quick service and really experienced and helpful vets to take your domestic pets to; however I have found that some of the receptionists can be a bit rude at times and maybe not as compassionate as they should be. As the first point of contact I do think they should be better.

  • Sabrina Tirvengadum

Wouldn't accept a stray cat that we found, even though we had an RSPCA code to cover the costs they wanted us to pay extra. We don't have pet insurance so no idea how much it would have cost us. We decide to reach out on Facebook and so many people from the public were willing to help and advise. Unfortunately, it's all about the money at this place.

  • Amy O'Leary

Each time I've been here the staff have been lovely and there's been a good vibe. I just want to thank Holly for her awesome service! She was lovely - down to earth, and has great people skills. I was probably more anxious than the dog. So happy with the service and Princess was back to herself pretty much a half an hour after being see. THANK YOU. X

  • Magdalena Maria

Vets are very nice and seem like they pay attention to your pet. The only thing I would say some of the receipion ladies have very unwelcoming attitude. I left like I'm being judged for being there for the first time and not knowing how everything works. I kinda feel like a smile (especially that I always welcome everyone with one!) Would be nice.

  • Nic S (jijipunch)

The staff have been so helpful during this difficult time and even collected our chinchilla, Truffles, to be treated at the surgery so we could stay safe. That was definitely going above and beyond! Thanks so much to Danielle, Holly and Emma for looking after Truffles so well and all the staff for your help and support. We are very grateful.

  • Kirsty Lloyd

Great vet. Initial call answered by helpful and knowledgeable reception staff. First visit went smoothly. The nurse kindly took the cat away from me and cleaned him up (big poo in cat carrier) without me asking. The vet was brilliant with the cat, explained everything very clearly to me. Wish I had know about this vet a couple of years ago.

  • WeEarliUK's #JaiAndMarcusReviewsAndAdventures

A wonderful experience as a first time Pet Owner of Maine Coons. They was very accommodating and understanding, great advice and tips received. The nurses was ever so gentle and knowledgeable, and a massive shout out to the Reception workers (always a smile with great hospitality), glad to have them as my local vets. Highly recommend!!

  • Angela Nurse

These guys are great! The receptionist who made my appointment, was friendly, helpful and patient. They have a cat specialist on Thursday, but the vet I saw today was very helpful. They took their time to talk to me about my cats problem and I didn't feel rushed. Very impressed with the standard of service as was my kitty.

  • Czeko Czekolada

very good practice. helpful and kind nurses and reception staff, knowledgeable doctors. our older cat Noodles had chronic kidney disease - dr Cerdic Grimbly helped a lot, providing tips, options for treatment, literature to read, but also honest warning on the amount of time the cat had left. we are very grateful for this.

  • Alisha Mcfarlane

Extremely friendly and accommodating vets. Went above and beyond to ensure we had a positive experience. Registered puppies for their vaccinations and microchips. The puppies enjoyed extra cuddles with reception Staff. The vet was informative and worked extremely well. Thank you for having us. Xena and Caesar

  • Mirella Ivanova

We had our cat vaccinations and he is going to be neutered there next week. We really loved the reception services but the vet himself I felt was not really in mood. Overall we liked the location and the prices are okay - bit high for the way vet treat my kitty but I hope everything goes well with neutering.

  • Marie Visha

The vet Cerdic Grimbly and all team are real professionals and angels He knew the prognose of my dog straight away. I am very satisfied and would recomend to everyone to visit this surgery because they don’t want to take just your money they really care about your pet and love. ❤️ Thank you guys ☺️! …

  • Natalie Samson

Midland Vets have time and time again gone above and beyond the call of duty. They care about and know our pets, take time to understand their personalities and are constantly thinking about the whole medical history, rather than just the issue at hand. You couldn't ask for better care of your loved pets.

  • Sylw

I'm not happy whatsoever. I came with my animal for help as of which I didn't recieve. They just took alot of money from me without any explanation and told me I need to put the animal to sleep. They treat people and animals terrible. Never come back, maybe they will try to put me to sleep next

  • Vivienne Nanfuka

Compared to the other vets I tried registering for, this vet was the fastest to respond and provide the most convenient plan. On my first visit they were hospitable and made things clear and easy to understand. Walking in there, I can guarantee my pets health and safety are in good hands.

  • Colin Horwood

The staff were very helpful as I am disabled and find it difficult to carry heavy objects two members of staff gave me a hand to carry my into the surgery. My cat had a health check and all was fine very happy with the service. Thank you to the two ladies who helped. …

  • Helen L

Lovely staff who know their stuff. I've been bringing my cat here for a decade with no issues or problems. While last here for my cats annual jabs an RSPCA staffer (animal rescuer) brought in an abandoned snake for their help, as they have a vet with a lot of experience with snakes.

  • Matthew Sheppard

Our cats are very nervous and fearful around other people. They always receive patient and caring treatment from Dr. Grimbly, who inspires trust in both us and our pets. Midland has consistently been the best veterinary experiences we’ve had either here in the U.K. or in Canada.

  • Emirsada Berisha

Trying to reach them over the phone takes ages. in one occasion, my cat bit the vet and every time my cat had an appointment with them they would refuse to examine him properly because they would say i cant because he may bite me. Staff not very kind and price extremely high.

I am a new cat owner who has never visited a vets before. I was probably more nervous than my cat! The lovely team at Midland Vets put me at ease, explaining everything carefully and treating my cat with warmth and compassion. A lovely practice which I highly recommend.

  • Valenta Muparadzi

Very grateful to the nurse who was driving to work and witnessed my cat had been hit by a car. She turned around and took the cat with her to work. She also managed to leave her work address, which made it easy for me to locate my cat. Thank you for showing compassion.

  • Maria Michael

Absolutely outstanding pet care and advice, considerate and friendly staff, clean clinic, reasonable prices - the minute you step into the practice you can tell they truly care about animals and how they can help you to make sure your pet is in the best health!

  • Wendy Jackson

I have taken my budgies to this surgery about 5 years ago and the vet was excellent. However when I called to find out whether they still treat budgies, the receptionist had such poor listening skills, she almost put me off using this vet service in the future.

  • chloe eburn

Fantastic vets. Holly is excellent with Arty and Freddie, our two cats. The staff are very friendly and professional at all times. Not only do they look after pets, they also look after the owners. Thanks so much for the support and keep up the good work.

  • Lauren Byrne

The staff are always welcoming and friendly. It was easy to make an appointment and the reminders in the lead up are always helpful. The vet was kind and gentle and very knowledgeable, I felt reassured the whole time. Could not recommend any more highly!

  • sandra ward

  • Katie Weymouth

I don't usually write reviews but Midland VS is honestly the nicest vets ever, so friendly, helpful and caring. They always keep you informed and updated and make you and your pet feel at ease when you go there, I wouldn't take my dog anywhere else.

  • Elizabeth French

Highly recommend After bad experiences with non caring money grabbing vets. I feel very happy that my faith in veterinary Drs have been restored. At least in this practice. So for that reason, look no further for a Recommend local vet …

  • Ayesha Akhoon

Great service. On this occasion of visiting the vet, my usually very active (read crazy) cat, on meeting the vet, was docile with her straight away! I was shocked! Never seen her behave like such a good girl with anyone! For that, the vet gets 5*!

  • Hanson London

Made 12 payments since August 2022. Cancelled renewal from August 2024. Manager refused to provide vaccine in July 2023. Clearly we paid for this month. Bad manager or scam? Disgrace. Must share this experience with our dog group of 400 members.

  • kevin beach

Excellent care for our small pet (Guinea Pig). Really knowledgeable and patient with me to explain the issue and how to administer the medication required. Also reasonable fees for the treatments given. Would highly recommend this vet surgery.

  • Christine Devoir

Would like to thank the vet Lucy for all the care & support shown for my staffie bonnie who sadly had to be put to sleep tuesday 8th dec. Thankyou for your kindness & caring of her for the past few months. Great vets would highly reccomend

  • Andra Neacsu Reblean

Our experience so far is a very good one. Good doctors and nurses, very calm and patient. We are pleased we joined this practice. The only downside is, they are very busy so you might be waiting a while until your call gets picked up.

  • Jennifer Robinson

It is always easy to make an appointment and I feel that my 2 ;cats are in safe hands and handled with care and sensitivity and I have faith that they will be treated well and their problems dealt with and the best medical care given.

  • Adeelah Mir

Really easy to register my pet and get an appointment. The person on the phone was very friendly and informative. Plus their Pet Plan is great value for money and saved me a huge bill. My cat seemed to like it too (strange but true).

  • Ramy Ma.

Overall good a list of prices will be a helpful I think ,though doubt this will be possible. One start down is because the place needs a bit of TLC ,old and dated.,especially the back door.,and for not having a clear list of prices.

  • Louise Willis

This is a wonderful practice with great vets how are knowledgeable, kind and caring. They give great advice and if it’s an emergency will do their utmost to fit you in as quickly as possible. I cannot recommend them highly enough.

  • H Y I G

Avoid this place. Don't fall for their monthly plan. If you cancel the annual renewal they will not honour anything you've paid and entitled for. Either the practice has a bad policy or the manager is greedy and has no integrity.

  • Michael Coe

Great staff, always look after our cats well. They were both neutered/spayed here and have had all their check ups and injections here. They dealt very sensitively with our previous 22 year old cat reaching the end of her days.

  • Alex William

I've been taking my cat here since 2011 and the service I receive for front staff and vets is excellent! I even got offered sweets last time I went in which was lovely, especially as I'd forgotten my appointment twice before!

  • David Phillips

Such a brilliant vet - they've looked after our dog and cat so well. The staff in reception and the vets themselves are always friendly and so helpful. We're so lucky to live so close to such an excellent veterinary surgery.

  • Nick Highton

I turned up 30 minutes before closing without an appointment to get a difficult tick out of my dog's ear. Two members of staff dropped what they were doing to help - great first encounter and will be registering my dog!

  • Lulu Cottontails

I saw a vet there called Mr Cronin when my cat was ill over Christmas, he was extremely lovely and gentle with Meow so we are switching to this practice permanently. Jack the receptionist was also very helpful.

  • Paola Vivas

I required some info over the phone as someone recommended this practice to me but they were as rude as others and very unhelpful . I am still waiting for a callback with the info I requested.

  • Suzanna

I'm very happy with how the nurse and vet treated my cats. Reasonable people, no faffing. Would be good if cats and dogs were separated in the waiting area, or booked in different time slots.

  • Matthew Kingsbury

Very welcoming staff. Had my pups vaccinated here and he was happy as Larry. Vet was very informative of future options for his health potential costs of treatment/procedures. Nice visit.

  • Mia

Vet was unhelpful went to get a sample of a lump and she refused to do it and instead presented me with a £900 estimated charge for an operation that was too excessive for the matter.

  • sevenia Jade Barcelon

Very reliable!! And the staff are also so lovely!! They are very compassionate and I managed to get my pups vaccine done on the day I called & registered! Very happy with the service!

Midland have been looking after my cats for nearly a decade now, and they’ve always been great. Pleasant, helpful and empathic staff and great service.

It's local, you can get an appointment quickly and it's all explained. I had to have a very loved pet put to sleep and they couldn't have been kinder.
